I was LIED to regarding a SERVICE UPGRADE. UNBELIEVABLY disappointing and dishonest

I have been a loyal verizon customer for over a year. Was excited to have my new service installed at my new place. $106 a month including DVR. Very pleased.
I could not view my bill or change services within the first month but wanted to look into a land line. I spoke with a Verizon customer service rep on the phone who ASSURED me that we could keep that same price as long as we locked in a contract. He informed me that the first bill would be $121, but that this was just "initial charges" that would go away and that the bill would go back to within a couple of dollars of $106.
Of course, without being able to see this and taking my oral understanding of the contractual terms I was agreeing to from the Representative, we signed up for the 24 month contract in order to get the price of $106 including everything I had plus a landline. Of course this turned out to be a BLATANT lie and the actual bill is $140! I would never have agreed to this, nor is this what I agreed to over the phone. I am incredibly disappointed in Verizon for allowing such tactics and I can only hope that someone on this forum working for Verizon can help me resolve this indecent and fraudulent misrepresentation before I am forced to take further action. I appreciate any advice or help.
Richard

If you have to wonder which RAM is the correct type, you probably aren't buying from a store that will give you the right RAM.  Many stores specify model and vintage of Mac on their website to ensure you get the right RAM.  Check my FAQ*:

  • No service on IPad 2 after upgrade to IOS 8. Waited a month to try it. A restart brings connectivity back for a while. If the iPad 2 was too old to receive this upgrade it should have been excluded from it.

Upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8. Waited a month as I saw all the problems other users were having. Now I am with them. No service. Connectivity restored only after a restart . These are necessary frequently. Last week I had a fully functioning iPad now I do not.
If the IPad 2 was not capable of handling the upgrade it should have been excluded. I have read the fixes, tried some, apprehensive about trying others. Why should the customers have to work to fix an upgrade meant to improve performance?
Any news on an IOS fix?
Any solutions other than wiping out  everything and starting over? Have seen that several times. Backing up, wiping clean, refreshing, restoring...why do we have to struggle?
i am spending way too much time trying to get my iPad back to what I had. I am sure the genius bar is packed with iphone 6 users and the new edition iPads. No room for folks with "old" ones. And if I try something and fail then I have nothing at all.
Hoping for a "fix" from Apple as well as any ideas.

Same here. The login works, but the Stream - according to the ATV - says there are "0" photos. Which is bogus.

  • Best Buy Rewards Elite Member was Lied to and severely mistreated by BESTBUY

BEWARE TO ALL CUSTOMERS WHO READ THIS.....Beware of lying BB salespeople and condescending BB Managers.
The following excerpts are my (an 'Elite' customer) attempts to open a dialog with the management at BESTBUY. A month has gone by now, I have sent the following information 7-9 times and this "company" has yet to reply. If you are a potential BB customer please read this and realize that when BB salespeople tell you something you must take their words with a grain of salt and all the while think of them as, well, Used Car Salespeople. If you are in fact BB Management you should know after reading this that I was one of those valued customers that you spend $MILLIONS$ each year to attract and do nothing to EARN. I have spent a ton O' cash over the last few years at BB on 3 Big Sceens, 2 i7 Computers, all of our iPhones, multiple office printers, 3 years of GEEK SQUAD memberships, 2 Kindle Fires, 2 iPad minis, 1 surround sound system, 2 BluRay players, Many software packages and finally ONE REMOTE CAR STARTER which is the reason for my initial query.
--THE FOLLOWING IS THE CORRESPONDENCE THAT I SENT REPEATEDLY TO BESTBUY--
    Best Buy Management,
I have now sent 3 emails to your “Lisa.Smith” email address and after about two weeks have not yet received a reply. What do I need to do to get a reply from Best Buy. I’ve spent thousands of dollars (That’s $1000.00’s) and now feel that I am being severely disrespected by the management at Best Buy. I don’t make threats but I am very disappointed in that fact that I have been so loyal as a customer to a company that seems not to care about me as a customer at all. It’s odd that someone can spend so much money to a company thinking that such loyalty would be rewarded, only to be ignored and disrespected.
I am very well connected and respected in the media in St. Louis as well as in all social media and I do not want to use those platforms to air this out but I will if I don’t get a response from Best Buy.
The following is the entire initial email that includes what has transpired to this point:
    Hi Lisa,
My name is Ken {removed per forum guidelines}. I am a “My Best Buy” Elite member and my acct.# is @@@@@. In the past I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of products from Best Buy. I have always been a loyal Best Buy customer and I’m writing you today to ask that I receive the same respect, loyalty and trust that I have given to Best Buy over the years.
Last December I went to the Best Buy on Watson Road in St. Louis, Missouri looking for an item for my wife for Christmas called a Viper 2-way Remote Start System, model number 4806v. I saw it at BestBuy.com. I went back to the area where you keep this item and the sales guy was really nice and helped me find the only one that you had left in stock. I told him that I wanted to have this installed in my wife’s car. I told him the year and model of the car, (2007 Toyota Rav 4) and asked if this was all that I needed or if I had to pay for installation. The salesman told me that their was no additional charge for installation. He said that all I needed to do is purchase the product and take the box home today. Give the present to my wife and then have her set up an appointment to have the remote system installed. He said that it could take as much as 3 hours and I was fine with that.
Today, my wife called the local Best Buy on Watson to set up an appointment to have the remote installed in her car and the sales guy on the phone told her that they could do it on February 23rd but there would be an additional charge of $250.00 since there were other parts that were needed to have this product installed in a Toyota Rav 4. My wife called me to tell me what was said and I then called and asked for a manager to discuss this issue.
A manager named Tim got on the phone. I explained everything to Tim as I have written in this email. After listening to me, Tim was very brief and simply said; “So, I can give you a refund for your purchase if you have the receipt.” I told him that I was happy with the product and my wife really wanted this in her car, I just needed to know how I could get it installed for the price that we originally agreed on. He asked if I remembered the salesperson’s name and I told him that I didn’t but was it listed on the receipt? He said “No the salesperson’s name was not listed on the receipt.” Tim said that I couldn’t get the item installed in my wife’s car unless I paid the extra $250.00 or I could get a refund. He added that if he gave 200 dollar installations to every customer who called and claimed they were told this then Best Buy would go out of business. I asked Tim if he was calling me a liar and he said no but I should understand why he can’t simply believe every customer who calls to complain. I asked him to be reasonable and let the installation go as originally agreed on and Tim said that he would not allow this but I could get a refund. I asked him if I could talk with someone higher up and he said that there wasn’t anyone higher up that I would be able to talk to. He said that those decisions stop with him. I told him that he was being very disrespectful considering all that I purchased from his location and he was silent for a second and then replied, “So, do you want a refund?” I told him not at this time but I would be calling his Corporate office and he replied with “Have a nice day.”
I then got online and found the BestBuy number “1-888-237-8289” and called it. I finally got to a live person who was very nice and they attempted to get me in contact with customer relations. The online salesperson kept coming back to me saying “don’t hang up I’m just trying to get a number to call.” She then told me that she was trying to get “Justin” on the phone to help me. After literally 15+ minutes Justin got on the line, he asked my name and then the phone beeped twice and hung up.
I was shocked but repeated the process above. After again waiting on the phone the online salesperson get me in touch with Customer relations. I started to speak to the person in CR and again, the phone beeped twice and hung up.
I tried a third time, explained everything in this email so far to the new online salesperson and she gave me the extension number to call if this happens again. It happened again.
I again called and asked the next online salesperson to connect me with x@@@. She said that they weren’t picking up but they were having some phone issues. She then gave me your email address and told me to tell you everything that I told her.
    Here we are.
Please let me know what I need to do from here. If you look up my account you will see the extensive list of purchases that I have made from Best Buy. I believe that I have more than displayed my willingness to pay fair prices for good quality items but I will not be “bait and switched.” I think that the manager Tim had it wrong. He won’t go out-of-business if he helps qualified customers but he will if continues to treat good customers with such disrespect.
Thank You and I look forward to your reply.
    Ken {removed per forum guidelines}
---POST NOTE-- For me, it's not about the $$$$ but about the way Tim talked to me and my wife. I have a wife and 11 and 15 year-olds. I estimate between them and I we will be spending well over $10,000.00 over the next four years for electronics and related services. The only question is will I be spending it at BEST BUY? After all of this, would you?
Please respond as soon as possible.
    Thank You,
    Kenneth {removed per forum guidelines}

Welcome to the forum, iChannel, and thank you for being an Elite My Best Buy member!
Minnesota winters can be bitterly cold, and I can imagine having a remote starter installed in my car would be amazing. It was very nice of you to purchase one for your wife, and I’m sure she was absolutely thrilled to have it installed. It’s regrettable to hear that some additional installation requirements came as such a shock to you though, and I truly apologize if we failed to properly explain the necessary costs associated with our car services.
When helping you figure out the essentials for a particular car installation, we go by a fit guide of sorts to provide you a cost estimate of the service. We do this by narrowing down the year, make, and model of your car and figuring out what components are necessary for the service you are wishing to purchase. It sounds like our associate who helped you find the stereo you were looking for may have been unaware of this guide, and consequently, may have provided you some inaccurate information regarding our services.  This could explain why one of our certified auto technicians may have told your wife additional parts and payment were required to perform the remote starter installation.
No matter the situation though, our associates and managers should always be kind and courteous when assisting you, and I’m sorry if we were less than helpful when trying to work this out with you. It’s clear to me this situation has been far from ideal, and while I cannot erase what’s already transpired, I’d appreciate the opportunity to try to assist you. Please know I’ve sent you a private message to collect some further information from you to see what options we may have available to us. You may view it by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
    Thank you for posting,

  • Was lied to back in March about a contract.

Ok, back story.  Back in March I offered to help a friend with a phone line when she was on hard times.  Asked the rep at the store if it would be possible to cancel that line when my other contract was up, by "swapping" the contract to my current phone number.  I was told yes.
Based on that information, I made a financial decision to help my friend.  This was roughly a $45/mo (24 mo) or a $1080 decision based on that information. Called in today and was greeted by definitely the rudest human being that must work for your call center.  Got the vibe based on her attitude that I was being lied to.  Before I could even ask she offered to transfer me to a supervisor which I accepted.
Supervisor gave me the same information, and so now I'm in an awkward situation.  I'll be the first to admit I wasn't exactly nice to your service reps once I realized I had been lied to, and for that I apologize.  On average I use less than 200 minutes, less than 200 texts, and less than 500mb of data.  I've been a customer for over 7 years.  I'm what you would call a "high margin" customer; You guys make a ton of money off me for very little overhead.  That said, I'm not going to be taken advantage of.
As I see it, you have two choices:
1.) You guys can honor the promise that was made to be last March, transfer the duration of my contract to my current #, and I'll just pretend it never happened.  Continue being a loyal customer.  You lose $45/mo + $350 from an EFT I wouldn't pay ($1025 total).  But you keep roughly $45/mo for more or less indefinitely.  I'd even be willing to re-sign a 2 year contract for the old# to accomplish this.
2.) You guys can tell me to get bent.  Now, that would be the end of our 7 year relationship.  You guys would get an EFT out of me, but that would literally be the final $350 you guys ever see from me.  Because Option #2 also includes me getting two ports to T-Mobile.  One for my oldest #, and one for the contract #.  They'd reimburse me the $350, I'd drop the new #, and I'd have my old #.
Basically at this point what you're doing is hoping that I will accept you holding my oldest # hostage.  Like I said, I'm not one to be taken advantage of.  I understand you guys are a business and need to have profitable rates; Good for you, yay Capitalism.  But I think I've pretty clearly laid out the financial reasons you should do this, never mind the ethical reasons.
So how about it.  We still gonna do business?

I was lied to about an option I had when signing a contract.  Either Verizon is pretending that I'm lying about it, or they just don't care.
I wouldn't be able to drop the second line.  What I would have to do is port the non-contracted line, then straight up cancel the other line.  T-Mobile only wants to see that there was a ETF on the final bill, not which number was ETF.  I've already cleared this with them.
    I've already spoke to T-Mobile.
They see Verizon/ATT/Sprint do this sneaky crap all the time.
They already told me all they look for is an ETF, not which line was ETF'd.
I WILL get reimbursed the ETF if Verizon foolishly chooses this course of action.
In the end, Verizon can stand behind a promise that was made to me last March.  Doing so doesn't hurt them financially and is the better business decision.  It's also the ethical thing to do. They can make $350 and REALLY **** me off, or $1080 and make me happy.

  • I am wishing to write a complaint letter regarding the service I have received for an Apple product, does anybody know to whom I should be addressing this to and the relevant email address? Thank you so much for your assistance. James

I purchased an iPad 1 (in Australia where I used to live) and 5 months after the warrenty had run out it ceased to turn on. This I hasten to add, was only 1yr 5 months after purchasing it, and I think we all expect a premium product, which we pay a premium price for to work for longer then 1yr 5 months.
This aside, I was advised my the Apple service centre in Singapore (Where I now reside) that due to the lack of warranty I would have to pay circa $450 SGD (£225) to get a "new" IPad 1. This was my only option.
After begrudgingly parting with my money I recieved a "new" iPad with a 3 month warranty a week later (less than a week ago)
The iPad has since stopped turning on again, having exactly the same problem as previously. I was advised by the genius at the Apple retail outlet in Isreal (where I am currently, bearing in mind there is no official Apple store in the country) that the iPad I had in my possesion was purchased in Australia a yr and 5 months ago and had no warranty. Not only had I paid $450 SGD for Apple only to fix my old iPad, I had been falsely advised that I would be recieving a new Apple product and my serial number has not been updated with the additional warranty. I feel a little cheated.
Personaly I am dissmayed by this turn of events and feel hugely let down by Apple.
I was going to give the iPad to my father as a present as I haven't seen him for 2 years, but it's worthless.
Any assistance with this matter would be highly appreciated, I just want an iPad that works and a warranty period that makes sense for the amount of money I have spent on the product.

    Thanks people
When I refer to letter, I mean email or eletter, whatever you wish to call it, but a correspondance via email very quickly to a global high-tech technology company. This is the year 2012 after all, I would feel slight disbelief if the only way to raise this complaint would be via a real letter.
If there is no other way, than a letter will have to suffice.
Again thanks for your support and time guys/gals.
    Regards,
    James

Hi, I upgraded my iphone 4 (4.3.3) to iso 5 beta 6, but now it shows "No Service" at top left, and unable to complete your activation. Also tells that "this device is not registered as part of the iphone developer programme." How could I fix this problem? Please help me...,

I had a similar occurrence with my just activated iPhone 4.
I had been using the phone for three days when an odd occurrence with voice mail caused me to call tech support. After some discussion they decided to push the activation to my phone (even though I had been using it for three days). When I went to power it back up again I repeatedly got the "no service" notification. I got tech support on a land line and we tried hard reboots and so on. No joy. They told me to take it in to the point of sale and either the SIM card or the phone needed (or both) needed replacing.
I tried one last hard reboot after dinner and the phone came up with service, but I took it in to the point of sale in the morning and they swapped the SIM card out and I went to a Genius Bar appointment to get the phone checked out. It is supposedly OK, but I am still having some problems when syncing it so I will have to visit the Genius Bar again tomorrow about that. At least I have not experienced the "no service" problem in the roughly 24 hours since the SIM card was replaced. (Fingers crossed)

I have one iPhone 8GB. After making un upgrade of iTunes and software of iPhone, it's impossible to use it. There's no service! doesn't acept PIN code! it only makes emergency calls and the image in the iPhone is the sign to connect to iTunes. What can i do to solve it?

Where are you and where did you get the phone.  This sounds like a classic symptom of someone who bought an iPhone that originated in the U.S. which was then hacked so it would run on a carrier network other than AT&T... Then, when updating the phone, it becare re-locked to AT&T.
If that's what happened, you now own a paperweight. AT&T will NOT unlock them for any reason.
If this isn't the case, please clarify where you are, what carrier you have and where you got the phone so we can begin troubleshooting.

Hi, I need help with my iphone four bought in England but I live in Italy, I upgraded IOS six and now I can not read more than the Italian card, how can I contact a service center via email?

Only the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Sounds like the phone was hacked to unlock it originally. Find out what carrier it is locked to, and look up their contact information using google or the search engine of your choice.

        * The termination occurred in system NSP with error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden.
        * The selected virtual host was 0 .
I did some research and from what I've read I should activate a service trough so called SICF. After installation I've got only sap management console in wich I have this main NSP node, below that database instance and SAP system instance, I tried to logon to this system instance choosing "logon" from context menu but always with some errors. Now I'm stuck, please help.

    Hi,
You will need to login using SAPGUI for windows first and then execute transaction SICF and from there, activate this service.
Please install SAPGUI first on your machine and login using it.

    Hello,
Only option is upgrading your Mac's OSX, since Apple will not allow iOS to go backwards.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Hello Apple ! I have in Iphone 5 16GB WHITE and it have a problem so I send my iphone to a service from my country and they sad that I made a unauthorized intervention  and it is not true, this phone was nerver open , the seals was open by the service  .I think  they try to cheating me because when I spoke with them , they answer me very ugly and unpolite and they sad me that they made what they want. So can I sand my iphone to a service from another country  because I want to know that they will say the same  thing ?I have international guarantee. Answer me soon and thank you for help!

If you can find out what country your iPhone was officially sold in, you could take it there (or if originally sold in the EU, take it to any EU country where Apple officially sells the iPhone) or you could send the iPhone to someone you know in that country who could get it serviced and then ship it back to you. Apple Support does not accept shipments from other countries, and will not ship a serviced iPhone to another country.
This, though, presumes that the iPhone has not been modified as your service provider claimed. If it has, Apple will not provide service for it in any country.
You may be able to find out what country your iPhone was officially sold in by calling Apple Support:

and giving them the serial number.

  • Upgrading MRS Tools and Services from lower releases to 2007

    Hi,
We have upgraded our CRM Mobile Repository Server to CRM 2007 (see
details below) and we are trying to upgrade the MRS Tools and Services
from lower releases to 2007 SP02 as per "SAP CRM Mobile 2007 SP02 -
Component Upgrade Guide. However, the setup.exe is not upgrading the
Mobile Repository tools as mentioned in the guide (page 34), but it is
giving option to install Mobile client. As per the guide, the setup.exe
program should perform the operations automatically, but it not doing
    the same.
Any idea why it is trying to install Mobile Client instead of MRS Tools & Services?

    Regards
    Chandu
P.S : I have also opened OSS message, but any thoughts in this regard would be appreciated.

    Hello Chandu
There are 2 scenarios post MAR upgrdae
    1. When an MDW is installed on the same host that contains the MAR,
    2. When an MDW is not installed on the same host that contains the MAR,
In both the scenarios, you would run setup.exe present in \Mobile_Client_Upgrade\UpgradePurposeOnly
    folder.
If the machine is of scenario 1, setup.exe would upgrade MDW along with MRS tools and services. So it will give options to install Mobile client as well.
If the machine is of scenario 2, It would setup.exe would upgrade MRS tools and services only.
In your case, I am sure you have 4.0 MDW machine which you are upgrading to CRM 2007 SP 02. So It comes under scenario 1 which i have explained above. There is nothing worng happening with setup.exe
    Best Regards
