When an iDevice gets wet the First thing to do is Turn it Off... leaving it on is not good.
If you cannot Turn it off... go to your nearest Apple Store. -

A green light means that your battery is full or that it can't be detected. If you can't start up the Mac, probably your logic board or battery aren't working.
Take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller to get your battery or logic board replaced. If the MacBook is in warranty, this repair will be free -
yesterday i was playing on my ipad while putting it in charger and then it turned off because the charge ended..then i left it chargingall night long and when i woke up i found my ipad doing this it keeps showing the logo then displays the lock screen and very fast it show circle with points moving then it shuts down and displays the battery empty but charging...it keeps doing this non stop how to open my ipad again !! First try a reset, by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
If that fails, you can try restoring the iPad using Recovery Mode.

my ipad has died! I was deleting some emails when the email, safari, settings all went dead. Now i can't turn it on. it is charged but i have plugged it in and again have no symbol to say it's charging. What has gone wrong?

I want to open a folder in a separate window by clicking on it. For some reason when I click on a folder it just replaces the one I was just in. I want them both to be open at the same time without having to go through several steps. Old apple operating systems made it easy to have several folders open at one time.
Eric, thanks that works but seems like an extra added step also to do it that way. I've got to move and organize a ton of files and I'm looking for a easy way to get this done. I could also open the folder into a separate tab and then drag the tab out so it becomes an open window but thats a lot of fussing around also with extra steps. Not sure why these newer operating system seems more confusing and less user friendly than what they used to. In the past I could just click on any folder and it would open in a separate window making it really easy to copy or move files from one place to the other just by simply dragging them from one window to the other. Seems like I'm going through several extra steps now to do a simple task.

Maybe the DVD itself is password protected, the user is travelling abroad.

My guess is the DVD is from another region than the one the optical drive is set to. Region changes are limited to 5 total, so it asks for the admin password to make sure you want to do it/allow it. After #5, the drive is locked to that region forever. -

I bought a Macbook Pro last February, and this is the first time this issue has occurred. My computer has been working fine, but this morning the battery icon is showing a big "X" through it, and when I unplug my power cord, the computer shuts off. Also, the power cord light is green, which I take to mean that it can't be charged anymore. How can I fix this?
Thanks!!I had similar issue with one of the macbooks in the office. Make sure you've got latest firmware installed (run Software Update). This resolved the issue for us instantly (you may need to reboot mac AFTER firmware upgrade for this to work).

I work remotely using my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.5.8) to connect to my office PC. I have always had issues using my "computer name" with the RDC but have no problem when using the IP address. Two weeks ago my company upgraded their server and ever since I have been unable to access the server. My coworkers (who use Macs) are not having the same problems as me. My IT guy was able to connect using my Mac, his security clearance and IP address. However, I no longer have the option of using the IP address to log in - per my IT guy. My IT guy is a PC guy so he suggested that I take my computer to Apple to see whats blocking me.
I met with Apple support at the Genius bar yesterday and was told basically it could be a problem with my computer and I needed to wipe it clean and start over. This was the proposed solution to the problem but the Mac guy I spoke with didn't seem completely sure this would solve / is the cause of the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for figuring out what the root problem is prior to me wiping my Mac? Has anyone had issues working with remote desktop connection from their Mac connecting to a PC?

Also, try connecting the iPod via a different USB port.
You may want to try putting the iPod in Disk Mode prior to connecting it and see if you are able to restore it (while it is in Disk Mode)...

Finally, if you can't get the iPod to restore, then try connecting it and opening My Computer. Does the iPod show up in My Computer? Try right clicking it and going to Format. Does anything happen?

AirPlay Mirroring requires an Early 2011 or newer MacBook Pro, and OS X Mountain Lion. If you have a compatible Mac, you have two possibilities:
1. Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion. Open the App Store and purchase it. Make a backup of your data before upgrading and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
2. Use AirParrot to mirror the MacBook onto the Apple TV > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options will work. If your computer isn't supported, the only way to mirror the MacBook is by using AirParrot -

The reason I did this was because there were two "library" folders in my HD and I was convinced one of them was a copy since they were identical.
I guess I should bring that disc with me in the future!
Actually you do not have to do that. Just burn a boot copy of your system discs that came with your computer or the universal install discs. Keep the bootable copy inside your travel computer bag and the originals home.
1.insert the leopard install DVD, open disk utility and select the whole DVD (model, not name) in disk utility.
2. go to File menu->new->disk image from the DVD. select CD/DVD master for format.
3. once the disk image is created, eject the install DVd and insert a blank DL DVD+R. drag the disk image to Disk utility, select it there and click "burn" in the toolbar.

I have a Macbook Pro early 2011 running on mountain lion version 10.8.2. A while back, i purchased a mini display port thru HDMI port so i could watch dvds on my toshiba television. it all worked great for a while, then the sound just stopped working. At first, I thought the mini display port connector must have broke, until I plugged it into a sony television and it worked. I also tried using it through a samsung television and it worked just fine. Why does it not work through the toshiba television anymore? The picture works fine, but the sound does not come thru the television anymore. My mac is set to play sound thru the HDMI port and it doesnt. When i switch it to built in internal speakers, the sound comes thru my mac, but when i switch it, no sound comes out. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thank you!
I am still waiting to receive a response from them, but i dont think they'll be much help. the television still works fine and all of the ports on the back, including both HDMI ports, work perfectly.
