I would like to update the atari800 package

I have a new PKGBUILD for the atari800 emulator that allows the user to select the build target: sdl, x11, etc. I noticed the package in AUR is outdated and the owner has not been on the forum since Oct. 2005 nor has he responded to my last email. What can be done?

Thanks tomk! A question comes up now because this new package is interactive and I recently received feedback for another package that was interactive stating that it should not be...
Are we not supposed to make PKGBUILDs interactive?
The situations are different since the atari800 PKGBUILD will ask for a build target while my other package raine (broken still because of the fonts) asks the user if they want to download emudx files. I realize it is better to create a separate package for the emudx files according to the AUR guidelines, but what about the atari800 package?
Here's what I have of the PKGBUILD for an example (still a work in progress):
# Contributor: robb_force <robb_force>

pkgver=2.0.2

I think you'll get a much better deal at the Apple online certified refurbished store. An ipad 2 64gb with cellular is there right now and costs $499.00 vs a new ipad 2 16gb with cellular which is $529.00. They also sell a 32 gb with cellular for $399.00 but only the 64gb is available now. With a refurb from anywhere else, you will not get what you will from the Apple refurb store.
Each Apple refurbished ipad (any version) comes with a new front and back cover, a brand new battery and a full one year warranty with 90 days of phone support. Each comes in a white box like a new ipad with the wall charger and usb cable. The only difference is that it says in small print on the bottom of the box that it is Apple certified refurbished. Also, if you buy refurb, be sure to check the store many times a day. They can come and go quickly, so when you see what you want, buy it right away. Shipping is free and pretty fast. (We bought two a year and a half ago and they have been great!)
This way you'll have cellular, all the room you need and then some and you'll save $30.00.
Let us know what you do and enjoy your new ipad!
    Hope this helps.

  • My computer is broken and I have a new one. I would like to update the software on my ipod touch but im afraid it will sync afterwards and i will loose all my data. Is this the only way?

I have an ipod touch 4g 64gb currently running 4.2.1. I would like to update it to the latest available software without syncing my ipod with itunes as I am using a new laptop that doesnt have my music, photos, videos etc on its itunes library. And so I do not want to loose all my data on my ipod.

  • HT1338 I would like to update the Mac software from OS X 10.5.8 to Os X10.6

I would like to update my Mac from OS X 10.5.8 to Mac Os X10.6

Purchase Snow Leopard from Apple's Online Store - $29.00.
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
    E. If updating:
    Download and install update(s)
    Use Software Update, or
    Download standalone updater(s).

  • I would like to change the Apple ID which is existing in my computer.

I am using a Mac Book Pro with a Retina Display. The Version number is 8.0.2
Whenever i would like to update the new versions of iPhoto and iMovie, it asks for an Apple ID and password. However I have an Apple ID and password which is working properly in other Apple devices, but there is and existing Apple ID in this computer with a faded color which I don't know the password or cannot erase it either. I cannot enter my Apple ID in this menu at same time cannot erase the existing Apple ID which is not mine. There is only one option there ( Forgot Password) I tried this option many times but it isn't related to that Apple Id which currently located in my computer.

You need to delete and redownload those applications. On a Mac, doing this won't affect their data, but it should be backed up anyway.

I would like to update the version of my ipad from ios 4.3.3 to a 5.0 or higher, but under my ger

    Hello Babs713,
    Which iPad do you have?
You have iOS 4.3.3; you need to connect your iOS device into iTunes, and update it in iTunes. To update over-the-air you need at least iOS 5.

    Hi AnnieAnneok,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The articles below may be able to help you with this.

First, I would suggest you backup your iPod touch and transfer purchases to your computer:

I have a mac book pro that i bought in late 2009. My current software is snow leopard version 10.5.8. I would like to get the new lion operating system but I cant without first getting the latest version of snow leopard. however when I go to update my software it doesnt show that any update is available.

    10.5.8 is Leopard, not Snow Leopard. You need the Snow Leopard DVD;
You can get it only by phone now from Apple.
In the US, call 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask for a sales assistant. Last quoted price was $19.99 for the single-user and $29.99 for the family licence.
For other countries, check here; http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
Don't forget to ask for Sales; the tech support guys can't help.
If you want Lion, rather than Mountain Lion, the same Sales team can give you a download code to use at the Mac AppStore.
To get the App Store, you need to update your new Snow Leopard from 10.6.3 (which is the version on the installer) to 10.6.8 with the combo update; http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Be warned that the upgrades will render a lot of older software unusable, and will need new drivers for printers and scanners in all likelihood.

  • I would like to update Garageband to the newest version for my macbook pro (OS X 10.6.8)

I currently have Garageband V3.0.5 and I would like to update but when I try to get V4 or higher I get an error. Is this as high as I can go with my operating system?

Version 4 is from iLife '08, version 5 is from iLife '09 and version 6 is from iLife '11. Version 10 is only found in Mavericks.
You can't "update" from version 3 to any other version. They are all paid upgrades.
You can't purchase version 4, 5 or 6 at the App Store. The only way to get them is from a reseller of the iLife DVD suite of apps.
