IB --Domain

In IB->Configuration->Quick Configuration->IB Domains
I see the app server name and application server path is wrong. I want to change it to
different app server name.
Plz let me know the steps and what is the signifiance of it.

Are the Pub/Sub processes enabled on the application server domain?
Did you supply the new application server domain as the default gateway application server?

  • Use one account or multiple for 10 domain users of Office 2013 Home & Business

I have 10 seats of the retail version of Office Home & Business 2013 for use in a domain environment. Windows 7 Pro 64, Server 2008R2 environment. No exchange. Blank slate.
Should I install all with the same account for ease of management, or setup a new MS Live account for each user? Can I do either, and what are the advantages to each?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Both are ok, but neither is really good.
In your scenario, I suggest you use Office 365 to manage all these, which is more recommended:

  • Need suggestion in creation of domain

    Hi,
can we use same domain for common characteristics field or separate domain? (ex: fields with domain value range - Yes or No
Which will be the better approcah?
    Regards,
    Sri

    Hi,
You can use the same domain than creating new domain for the current requirement.
The basic purpose of domain is to define the Data Type and Size of it. Based on the domain we create Data Element, which describes the sematics of the Domain, i.e. the purpose of the Domain assigning to data element to field in table, where you can mention the 4 lables for data element, describes the usage of the data element, assigned to Domain.
So it is advisable to use the exising domain for creating Data elements than creating a new domain with the same data type and size.
    Best wishes,

  • Cannot send email from Verizon to a specific domain using the web UI

I'm trying to send an email to a specific address on a domain I own from a Verizon account using the web UI. Whenever I click send, a popup appears saying "Your e-mail contains the following invalid e-mail addresses:" followed by the email address. I can send email to this address from a GMail account as well as my work email.
In Chrome, I can see that a "code":1002 error is being produced.
Does anyone know why this would happen? Does Verizon check destination domains for reputation? Is there any way to debug this further?

  • Sharepoint Foundation 2013 On a SBS 2011 Domain??

I have an SBS 2011 domain with 2 servers(SBS2011 Premium) The SBS box acts as domain controller and the second server runs Server 2008R2 and has SQL 2008R2 on it for Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM 2011 and hosts the Sharepoint Foundation 2010 Databases. Is

  • Follow up - DNS (internal domain has same name as external website)

    Hi,
I am following up with on previous blog entry about resolving an domain internal name to an external website found here:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/4d97325b-ff3a-4f46-ba6e-dc3f4ff978e1/dns-internal-domain-has-same-name-as-external-website
    On October 30, 2014
HayashiTech provided a response suggesting the use of netsh interface portproxy on the DC's to resolve this issue. There has been no feedback to this suggestion and I am very curious what opinions are out there for this suggestion as it appears to be the
    best option provided yet.
Thank you in advance as well for all the great guidance I have found provided by Ace and his followers.

Interesting question. I've not seen that solution before, but having done a test on my lab setup it certainly seems to work as expected. Eg, using :
    netsh interface portproxy add v4tov4 listenport=80 listenaddress=dc1.abc.com connectport=80 connectaddress=www.abc.com
on my DC where I've setup a working external domain name with the www record pointing to the website, and the non-www record pointing to the DC, requests to the non-www address are successfully being redirected to the www address (after confirming it didn't
happen prior to adding the portproxy).
So on the face of it that does look like a workable solution. I haven't used it myself in anger obviously, but the two downsides I can think of immediately to this solution are :
    1) This operates as a proxy, so unlike the IIS method that Ace mentioned where it would tell the client to go to the www address instead (so the client connects direct), this method keeps your DC acting as a middle man, eg all communications to that address
go through your DC rather than direct from the client to the website. Depending on what they're doing on the website this may or may not be an issue for you.
    2) Since the client is continuing to connect to the DC throughout, if you ever did need the have something on the DC responding to port 80 then you could have issues. That said, according to
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731068(v=ws.10).aspx the portproxy listenaddress can be a FQDN rather than IP, so that could mitigate any issues there.

  • Multiple (but separate) domain problem & Apple's slow and useless response

I am having problem with multiple (but separate) domain. I opened a ticket.
Here is Apple's slow and useless response and my follow up.
This follow up is not going to resolve the issues I am having. The sites are not in one domain file. I have split them into separate domains. I found that the simplest change to any page made the publishing process extremely and reasonably slow. If I updated a single site, iWeb republishes the whole conglomeration; hardly the most efficient way.
I have several directories under the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ directory with separate Domain.sites2 files for each site:
    consultingAM.com
    DarkAssassinMovie.com
    Fuzzy Llama Junior Optimist Club
    GulfportOptimist.com
    OptimistView
    pAwesomeProductions.com
    www.nfdoi.com
With the previous version of iWeb, I navigated to a specific ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ directory, selected the Domain.site file, and opened it. This would open iWeb with the selected domain. Several of the sites have their blog page with the RSS subscribe option.
Once I made the update, all I usually had to do was publish site and all was well. Occasionally, I would have to do a publish all if I changed domains. All in all, I had no problems with publishing once I found the right steps to be able to maintain multiple domains.
Now, using the default publish or publish all process, all I get is the last site I published. In order to get things semi-functional, I published a site, then I would go to iDisk/Web/Sites/ directory, select the folder name for the site I had just published, then copy it or move it to iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb directory. This was rather slow and I suspect it is not an approved solution, but it semi-worked. My sites are back up, but they are not fully functional.
Is there anyway to get back to using the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ directory (separate Domain.sites file for each site) process to publish multiple sites? If not, is there any way to suck in the various domains back into one? If that is possible, will it take hours to publish the combined 2-3GB like it did with the previous version?
How do I reverse the 'personal domain' process? I do not want to do this at this time. I just wanted to see what the steps were. I have done the first step, but not the second.
I was glad to see some of the changes made in the upgrade (web widgets, maps, html snippets, theme switching), but I am too happy about the changes made by the upgrade process. In the past, I upgraded my Apple related stuff as soon as it came out. Based on this upgrade, that won't happen again.
It took you guys 5 days to get back to me (during which time several of my sites were down) and I do not believe the information you provided is going to solve my specific problems. I am very disappointed with the results of this upgrade. Clearly there was inadequate testing of this product before it was released. I cannot recall seeing the Apple discussion forums with hundreds of topics and thousands of posts within a week or two of a new release. Apple had to upgrade iWeb in the first week, another poor sign.
Apple is beginning to slip back to the pack; all vendors all below average. Apple is getting more like Microsoft everyday. First Apple delays the release of an OS upgrade so they can concentrate on a freaking phone, now you release software that is so buggy it should be classified as beta at best.
Some of the changes/problem I am seeing since the upgrade (in addition to the problems mentioned previously) are:
layout changes; some of my pages no longer look the same; same of the changes are so bad the pages are unreadable
broken photo pages; some of my photo pages no longer work; some of them have no text or pictures
file/page name changes; why would Apple change the location of the files; now my domains are not pointing right location; special characters (like spaces, ampersands, etc.) are handled differently in this version; specifically, I see that spaces are changed to underscores (_); iWeb used to use '%20' for spaces; what was Apple thinking?
broken 3rd party themes; I know Apple is not responsible for 3rd party themes, but you should certainly be aware that they exist
Based on what I am seeing online, most of the people who are complaining about major iWeb issues are not newbies; based on the technical details in the threads, there are clearly some experienced people who are trying to figure things outw. I have lost many hours trying to figure this mess out. I now have to review hundreds of pages to try get things to look and work the way they did before the upgrade. I have had to handle dozens of phone calls and emails from my viewers and subscribers trying to explain the situation.
I googled 'iweb 08 *****' and got nearly 50,000 hits! I think Apple better get in front of this train before it gets run over.

    Dear David,
I understand that you are experiencing an issue viewing some of your websites published in iWeb:
I have examined all of the published pages and they appear to load and function as expected. If you published your website to .Mac, you can visit it either of these ways:
    - In iWeb, click the Visit button in the lower-left corner.
    - Enter the following URL into a web browser:
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/
If you have published more than one website, the URL above will take you to the default website, which is the first website listed in iWeb. To visit another website you have created in iWeb, use the following URL format:
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/iWeb/YourSiteName
Using this form, the web addresses for the two sites you mentioned would be:
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/iWeb/FuzzyLlamaJuniorOptimist.com
    http://web.mac.com/daviddawley/iWeb/pAwesomeProductions.com
To change the default website, simply open iWeb, and in the Site Organizer, drag the desired default website to the top and republish to .Mac.

If you still experience issues with the website, try the following troubleshooting steps:
    WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES
If your website has movies, you may need to wait several minutes after going to the website before the movies are ready to play. The QuickTime Player icon indicates that a movie is still loading.
    CLEAR YOUR BROWSER CACHE
If you use Safari, you can clear your browser cache by choosing Empty Cache from the Safari menu. If you use another browser, consult that browser’s documentation if you need assistance in clearing your browser cache.
    UPDATE YOUR BROWSER
Make sure you are using the latest available version of your web browser when viewing pages published in iWeb. If you use Safari, you can check for updates by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu. If there are any available Safari, Security, or Mac OS X updates, install those updates and try looking at your website again.

    TRY ANOTHER BROWSER
If you use a Mac, try viewing your website with Safari or Firefox. If you use Windows, try Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox. Firefox is a free download available here: http://getfirefox.com
    TRY ANOTHER NETWORK
If possible, try viewing your website from another network or Internet connection. If you can successfully view the website from another network, please consult your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) to resolve this issue.

Just got off the phone with Apple Support.  There procedure was the following:
    1.  Go to the Apple TV, select settings, general and scroll down to reset.
    2.  Select reset and then select reset all
Apple TV will go through a restart after the reset and you will have to select your network then log in with your network or Airport Express password.  You will then have to turn on home sharing and It will then ask you for your Apple ID for the iTunes store and then the password.  At this point you may not see your library, because the Apple TV wants you to turn on home sharing on your home computer that is hosting the movie library.  Turn off home sharing on that computer, restart iTunes and turn on home sharing again.  After this is done you should be able to see you library listed under the computer.
After going through these steps, when I select an HD movie from my iTunes library the movie comes up after about a 5 second delay.
Hope this helps!  I am back up for business.

  • How can i use ONE server 2012 to be DC for a domain on the WAN only.. NO LAN. and NO VPN..

I need to run an active directory that is on a WAN (Utah). a server 2012 standard will be the DC with 60Mbps internet speed both up and downstream.
approximately 100 clients/member systems will be all over the united states. NO VPN. only via internet. I can use SSL certificate for secure ldap.
I need this setup to use GPO for different permissions and policies instead of manually doing those on each windows 7 or 8 professional system.
    Ideas??

    Daniel,
I think since this will be the ONLY system that will be running as a DC providing ADDS and the Direct access server, i should follow this advice from the article you sent:
For users who never connect directly to the Contoso intranet or through a VPN, they must use the DirectAccess
Offline Domain Join process to initially join the appropriate domain and configure DirectAccess. When this process
is complete, the users log on normally and have the same experience as if they were directly connected to the Contoso intranet.
Because remember, no user will ever connect directly to the subnet where the server is. so do an offline join First and then start managing.. Only thing im worried about is: they keep saying that the direct access function has significantly improved in windows
    8. hmmmmm many systems will be using windows 7 Pro 64Bit. Some windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. should i worry?

Our company is running Exchange 2007, OWA enabled, EWS is setup, Auto discovery is enable. The only thing I haven't got an answer on is whether Service Pack 4 has been installed. The server is set up with a domain specified but I don't know where to include that in the Mail Account Setup. Mail seems to be locating the server fine but it says username or password can not be verified. I can only assume that it's because I haven't included the domain correctly.
iPad (and I assume iPhone/iTouch) have a field in their setup to include the domain and a coworker is connecting fine with to the company server. Where is it in Mail? I have tried to prepend it to my username (domain/username) but it hasn't worked. I can't recall all the variations I have tried of this, but unless I have the domain first in the username field, Mail won't even connect to the server. I've been all over these boards and dozens more and I can't find any answers to this problem.
Any here have any ideas? Thanks,

    Enter your username as:
    <domain>\<username>
This is standard practice for Microsoft if there's no place to enter the domain name.

Thanks Asatoran. That turned out to be part of the solution for me. The other part was changing the port I used for the SSL connection -- it was set wrong at some point, either because the default was wrong, or because I forgot I had changed it in troubleshooting before trying the slash the way you suggest. Anyway, the port number for some reason doesn't show up on my iPhone settings, so it didn't occur to me to tweak it.2.0 GHz MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.4), 4GB RAM

    <domain>\<username> worked for me... FINALLY!!
Thanks muchMacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iMac

Quit your mail entirely, then in terminal do:
    mv ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope* ~/Desktop
This moves all your "Envelope Index*" files to your desktop.  An alternative is deleting the files, but this allows you to keep them as a temporary back-up (you can delete them at-will later).  Also, you can move the files from Finder instead of Terminal, if you prefer.
After the files have been moved, re-open Mail
This should re-load all your email messages, updating/restoring the count
While this works, it does not explain the reason the count goes missing, nor does it ensure that the count won't go missing again in the future, but at least it's a temporary workaround.

  • Accessing Sharepoint 2013 externally for domain users and customers

Just an FYI I am not a SP administrator by any means but have be tasked with taking over this project and could use some assistance.
Sharepoint 2013 is working fine internally. Users access the site and login with their domain credentials. Our client is moving one of their departments to another building down the street and we'd like them to be able to access local resources without the
use of another server or site to site vpn or standard vpn.
My question is, how do we make Sharepoint accessible outside of their local network?
If we open up a port on the router and have it forward all request to Sharepoint server will we be able to access it?
Also, how will they authenticating with the Sharepoint Server? Do they use the same user credentials?
I forgot to mention this is Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Edition. We are also using Project Server 2013 as well.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi 3s1k,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to access the SharePoint site from Internet.
You need to first ensure that you enable Anonymous Access for your web application. You'll then need to set up DNS for the domain you own to point to your web front end server (or virtual IP if it's load balanced). Then set up the appropraite IIS bindings
for the web application, and finally you'll need to extend your web application to an Internet Zone and give it the appropriate domain name.

  • LDAP supporting multiple DNS domains

I have an environment with multiple DNS domains, and am configuring a Directory server (DS 6.3.1) to centralize various OS configuration maps including user authentication. None of the DNS domains have unique data, so I'd like to do something like storing all the real data in one suffix, then somehow have all clients look to that primary suffix. I am aware that the Solaris Native LDAP client wants to bind to a nisDomainObject that matches its DNS domain. I'm just having a hard time believing that I really need to manage all those individual suffixes when they don't have unique data requirements.
Take as an example the following domains to be supported: foo.example.com, bar.example.com, dev.example.com, qa.example.com, prd.example.com (no hosts are actually in "example.com", they are all in subdomains). Again, all share common configuration data, same user IDs, etc - no unique maps are required.
I created a suffix, "dc=example, dc=com", set it up with idsconfig. All is well there.
[A] My first thought is to bind all Solaris clients, regardless of their DNS domain, to the baseDN of "dc=example, dc=com" in order to avoid having a separate suffix for each DNS domain. I tried to do this using "-a defaultSearchPath=dc=example,dc=com" with ldapclient init, but it failed with an error indicating it wants to see the nisDomainObject of its real DNS domain.
The second though I had, which I don't believe is possible, is to find some sort of a LDAP equivalent of a symbolic link so that I could actually have an object for each DNS domain, but it would simply point back to "dc=example,dc=com". I can't find anything in the documentation which suggests this is possible, but I'd love to be wrong!
[C] Perhaps this could be somehow done with a rats nest of SSDs, but that really seems unwieldy, right? I plan on using a fair amount of the available objects, so it would be many SSDs per suffix. Yuck.
Can anyone comment on my above thoughts, or provide how they would go about supporting multiple DNS domains that have common configuration data?
    Thank you,
    Chris

Ok, I answered my own question. Turns out it's pretty easy. Just use the "-a domainName=example.com" option with `ldapclient` then make sure that the FQDN of the LDAP server is available (or use its IP address). My problem was that the ldapclient overwriting nsswotch.conf was clobbering the SSL session because I used the FQDN which couldn't resolve.
This leaves an interesting condition of having the output of "domainname" not match the DNS domain. I'm testing now to see if this causes any unexpected issues with our environmnet, but I suspect it's not a problem.

  • Authentication - multiple domains with multiple accounts

    Dear All,
Consider an environment where a user, Joe Bloggs, has an account on two Windows domains:  DOMA and DOMB.  DOMA is a domain that all users in the organisation are members of.  DOMB is a domain used by a smaller subset of users.  The user's
machine is part of the DOMB domain.
I'd like to deploy SharePoint 2013 on DOMA and have the user, logged on to their DOMB machine, seamlessly authenticate (through IWA) with SharePoint 2013.
So far, I've thought of the following solutions:
    1.  Build a trust between the two domains.  Possible, but the AD information in DOMA is more up-to-date than that in DOMB and I'd like to use that to populate SharePoint user profiles.  Also, DOMB is likely to be deprecated in the future.
    2.  Use WorkPlace Join.  Unfortunately, devices are running Windows 7 and WorkPlace Join only works for devices running Windows 8.
I've wondered whether it's possible to map two accounts on separate domains together so that a user on DOMB can effectively masquerade as their corresponding user on DOMA when authenticating with SharePoint, but haven't come across a way of doing this, yet.
Any ideas?  Or, am I completely mad?!
    Thanks in advance.

    1) Is your only option for seamless logon with IWA. It is not possible to map accounts "together" so-to-speak. SharePoint stores a reference to the user's SID, which must match the user making the request.
An ADFS trust might be another option, although that increases your deployment footprint and complexity.

  • How can I replace just the corrupt page(s) in the domain file of iWeb using Time Machine?

I back up with Time Machine and have an extensive elaborate website I created in iWeb '09 over a couple months and publish to a local folder and then upload to my server, but in the last few days I notice certain pages (that I haven't even worked on or touched) somehow become corrupted or "cross-contaminated" with elements and images from other pages.  Once I see they are corrupt I make sure not to publish them (if the current published versions are the correct, non-corrupt versions) or if they did get published I can use Time Machine to retrieve the .html file and page files folder for that specific page and replace it in my published folder/server so it shows correctly on the Web.  However, that does not replace the corrupted page(s) you see and work with when you launch iWeb and try to edit or continue working on that page.
I am confused as to how I go to the package contents of the domain file and replace just that page with a previous version from time machine.  I don't want to replace the entire domain file because I have new changes I made to other pages even in the past hours.  How can I keep the good pages and just get earlier, non-corrupted versions of the corrupt page(s)? I know it's not as easy as with the published site folder where you can just replace the page's .html file and folder, but I don't want to have to re-create the corrupted page(s) from scratch or have to replace it with the last non-corrupted domain file and then have to redo all my recent changes to new pages I made before discovering the corrupt page(s).  Thanks for your help as now I can't make changes to the page(s) within iWeb itself.

Thanks for the response, Wyodor.  I don't know what that is, but I'll have a look.  Is it an alternative to iWeb or a way to transfer pre-existing iWeb sites?  When you say merge domain files, is that like so multiple copies of the same site show up then you can pick and choose the non-corrupted pages and group them then delete the corrupted ones?  I am on Snow Leopard with no plans or need to upgrade anytime soon.
And yes, I will read your links but just wanted to ask those questions.  Maybe they'll answer my questions, maybe not.
I was able to discern that within the domain file is a domain folder with all the site folders, each with their own page ".gz" files which expand into ".xml" files.  I was trying to figure out if you could simply drag the corrupt pages out that way and replace them with backup copies that are still good.  I am having trouble discerning which pages are which as they all have random names like site-page-30F175E3-AE33-4F10-A490-1A096D9B185B.xml and although I expanded and opened each in Text Wrangler, I still couldn't discern which were which for sure, and trial and error proved cumbersome.  Also, I did notice some of the later corrupted domain files had one or two more pages than the site itself has, so not sure how they got added or duplicated or what.
Again, I'll look at your links, but do you know about swapping out individual page .xml files this way within the domain file?

  • Is it possible to restrict the ability to e-mail a pdf outside a specific domain name?

    Hello,
I am trying to find a solution to a friends problem.  She has a quarterly publication that she sends out to big banks and financial institutions.  Recently she has had some problems with press leaks.  I am trying to find some security options for her however the task is difficult. Because these institutions have firewalls I am not sure encrypting or tracking is the right answer because the publication might not make it through. She wants users to be able to print the publication because many of the readers are older and prefer to read during their commute and at home.  Essentially I am looking for any ways to make readers think twice about sharing the information. I thought if I could restrict e-mail to a specific domain name that would help this way users can only e-mail within their specific company.  If any one has any suggestions please feel free to share.

Thank you Todd, I was able to get it to work but I do have a few more questions...
    1) When I tested this, at the top of the message, before any of the text I created, this showed up: This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------040406040801080102080500 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
    2) After the signature line, this showed up: --------------040406040801080102080500 Content-Type: image/jpeg Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-ID: /9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQEAYABgAAD/4QAiRXhpZgAATU0AKgAAAAgAAQESAAMAAAABAAEAAAAA AAD/2wBDAAIBAQIBAQICAgICAgICAwUDAwMDAwYEBAMFBwYHBwcGBwcICQsJCAgKCAcHCg0K CgsMDAwMBwkODw0MDgsMDAz/2wBDAQICAgMDAwYDAwYMCAcIDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwM DAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAz/wAARCAC5ApUDASIAAhEBAxEB/8QA HwAAAQUBAQEBAQEAAAAAAAAAAAECAwQFBgcICQoL/8QAtRAAAgEDAwIEAwUFBAQAAAF9AQID AAQRBRIhMUEGE1FhByJxFDKBkaEII0KxwRVS0fAkM2JyggkKFhcYGRolJicoKSo0NTY3ODk6 Q0RFRkdISUpTVFVWV1hZWmNkZWZnaGlqc3R1dnd4eXqDhIWGh4iJipKTlJWWl5iZmqKjpKWm p6ipqrKztLW2t7i5usLDxMXGx8jJytLT1NXW19jZ2uHi4+Tl5ufo6erx8vP09fb3+Pn6/
(It was actually much longer than that)
Is there anyway that I can get that to go away? I obviously would prefer a nice, cleanly formatted e-mail to be sent just like I would send if I were creating it on the spot.
    Thanks,
    Evan
