Ibot-publish for subscription issue.

Hi Everyone
I have a issue in which the user cant save the i-bot in the shared i-bot folder after he checks the publish for subscrition functionality. The user gets access denied when he tries to save it in that folder. I know we can do
it by giving the presentation server administrator privelege to the user but the thing i wanted to know is that is there any other way so that the user can save it in the shared ibot folder without giving the presentation server privelege.
Please help folks.

The id with which u have logged in cant be added in the publish for subscription recipient list.
ais there any other way??

SUGGESTION TO ADOBE: PLEASE CREATE A PROPER FORUM FOR SUBSCRIPTION AND BILLING ISSUES

I think and many will agree, that it is about time that Adobe would create a forum just for subscription or billing issues.
There are so many people looking for help that taking this issues to a specific forum, would help in reducing the signal to noise ratio and keep a focus on specific topics. Yes, Adobe should fix these issues and I am sure they are being address but creating proper channels would speed up support, from Adobe staff and from people that, for crazy reasons, volunteer here.
I try to help, but sometimes just the Creative CLoud forum is like a raging river of people looking for help and if it was divided in some topics, it would be a great help. So:

I completely apprehend your point of view, the billing issues deal with credit card information which are highly secured information, there is only one authorized group taking care of billing issues.

Product ID for second issue of multi viewer app

hi,
I've in this forum already found very usefull info about publishing the second issue of a free multi viewer app but still can't figure out if we have to use the same Product ID for each issue, or do we need to create a different Product ID for each issue ?
I've put two examples below, suppose one of them has to right. Or not ??
Is this the way to handle multiple issues (option 1):
product ID issue 1 = Product ID issue 2 = com.magnusmedia.magname
Or is this the right way (option 2):
product ID issue 1 = com.magnusmedia.magname.01
product ID issue 2 = com.magnusmedia.magname.02

Allright, was in a hurry and tested it out myself.
Option 2 is working for me, hope it's right to handle it that way.
With option 1 the app crashes (dark gray screen, no folio opens, library- en scrolling buttons are available but)

Short answer: Yes, use a different Product ID for each folio (or for each set of folio renditions).
Longer answer: It's confusing that there are three different types of Apple Product IDs:
(1) the app Product ID, which you can ignore
(2) subscription duration Product IDs for a paid app or a single Product ID for a free subscription app
(3) a Product ID for each retail folio
When you're setting up a free subscription app, you don't need to use iTunes to create a Product ID for individual folios, because your folios are free. You just need to set up a free subscription Product ID in iTunes Connect and specify that Product ID in the DPS App Builder. On the Adobe side, you use a different Product ID for different folios you publish, such as com.publisher.publication.2012October and com.publisher.publication.2012November. If you're creating renditions, you use the same Product ID for the different renditions and different Product IDs for different sets of renditions.

Publishing for iPhone

Hi - I'm trying to get some more clarity on the DPS new ability to create for iPhone. Particularly, what is meant by the sentence "At this time, you cannot create a single-issue viewer app for the iPhone."?
Does this mean that designing for iPhone alone is not possible through a Single Edition license? Or, does it mean that you can publish for iPhone if it is paired with an iPad version? Are "Single Issue" and "Single Edition" the same thing?
Basically then, if I had to design for iPad and iPhone and purchase a Single Edition license, would this work .... or do I need a professional/enterprise license?

Thanks Bob. However, I'm still a little in the dark here, and maybe it is just a matter of jargon. I think I'm getting confused with the terms "single-issue" and "single edition". From your response am I correct then in saying that:
I can create and publish an iPhone & iPad app through a Single Edition Lic. so long as it is not a once-off application/publication (single folio) but rather a multi-folio/subscription based one?

BI Publisher -RTF Template issue: Output report not maintaining text with bullets and numberings.

Hi All,
I am currently working with generating reports using BI Publisher. My issue is that when I will preview the output(in PDF and RTF) format's of the newly created template, then, if the data coming from DB have some bullets or numbering, then the BI publisher output will ignore the same and will show the complete data as one single line.
For example if the data in the DB Field is like below:
The XYZ has the below sub-parts:
ABC : This again has two parts:
abc1
abc2
CDE
FGH
Then this data will appear as below in the BI Publisher output report's:
The XYZ has the below sub-parts: • ABC : This again has two parts: o abc1 o abc2 • CDE • FGH
I want the format of the data (with bullets and number's) should be maintained in the BI Publisher Report as well, but I am unable to find any solution for the same.
Any help on the same is much appreciated.

in your query will u get all the columns always null when column1 is null
in your template for each group u can write like below
think G_1 as group in your xml

or if u are not sure u get null in both places every time u can write like below
<?for-each:G_1[COLUMN1!='' and COMMENTS!='']?><?COLUMN1?><?COMMENTS?><?end for each?>

SSRS subscription issue

We use some reports in SCSM (standard and custom). About week ago one of custom reports lost formatting when send to e-mail in MHTML format. We didn't modify this report before issue.
Report display correctly:
1. In the SCSM console.
2. In the SSRS web interface.
3. In the e-mail when format isn't MHTML (report is attached to message)
4. In any supported format (including MHTML) after manual export.
5. In any supported format (including MHTML) when report is sent to SMB share by subscription.
Report display incorrectly (as plain text without images and formats) only when it is sent in MHTML format by e-mail subscription.

Do you use embedded charts within in tablix? If so, please try to insert rectangles into the tablix before inserting charts.
Which browser do you use to view the subscription? Some browsers may not perfectly support the MHTML format. You can test the issue using Internet Explorer.
As a workaround, you can enable HTML 4.0 format for subscription and configure subscriptions to use this format instead of MHTML. To do this, please remove "Visible="false" for the HTML4.0 rendering extension in the RSreportserver.config file:

I did that - nothing happen... I have changed my adobe ID and all address to my Canada home.
Having log myself out and re-log back in to start the Creative Cloud subscription. The payment still shows in Sterling Pounds.
This is difficult as I am no longer earning Sterling pounds as a wage and the subscription would automatically be doubled payment, because Canadian $ is less in currency exchange to the UK Sterling Pound.
Thanks for your above suggestions, but what should I do now, to resolved this issue.

Skype took money for subscription but never activa...

Hello to skype users
Have you ever faced such situation like mine.
I have subscription for 400 minutes a month, paid by Skype Credit. Skype takes money every month though dates when it is activated always shifting further and further. For example this month they took money 10 Euros on December 2nd but said it will be activated on December 5th.
OK then, I thought today is 5th and made a call, and was charged for this call. I went to my account to see subscription is not activated, it still shows 0 minutes from last month.
After a big search on skype site I sent a letter to support only to receive outrageous lie that I already have used all my 400 minutes in the month of December. When in fact skype even didn;t activate December subscription yet,
What should I do?

Skypes indeed takes payment for subscription renewals 3 days in advance, prior to the actual date when the subscription will renew. afaik, your minutes will reset at 1:00 GMT.

I am using Weblogic portal 10.3, need to publish a content item for futhre date , i tried adding the date and time to startDate property and published it, and the changes got reflected immediately.
has any one got his done.

Case 1 -
Assuming that there is a version which is currently displayed on the portal, if the business has published 3 future versions already (not yet published on portal), then he can make any changes in any of the future versions and have them automatically published.
Case 2 -
If there is a version which is currently displayed and there are 2 future versions published in the repository already, if the business user wants to make any changes in the current version, he just changes and re-publishes for the updated stuff to appear on the portal.
Case 3 - overlaps
Incase of 2 published versions with the same start dates but varying end dates, as the content selector will pick up both the nodes into the arraylist. In that case we can write a comparator, which incase of same start dates, do a comparison on the version id, and then pick the latest version. but in that case, we may lose one version. I guess in that case, we will have to advise the user handling this versionong to provide sequential dates for all the versions.
I hope I have got the issue right and covered all the cases.

Publish for Approval with .Mac

If anyone has used the new "Publish for Approval" AppleScript and has found a way to publish these pages to a .Mac account/web page, would you tell me how you did it. I have been waiting for something like this forever but dont want to have to leave my computer on all the time to run as a server for these pages.
What seems to be the issue is that it creates a web page from the Personal Web Sharing in Settings and uses your mac as a server, the only way people can get on is if your mac is active and allowing connections.

I'm not the developer of this interesting looking package, but it doesn't look like it's something that will work with .Mac at all.
The web pages is creates rely on an application to be running on the machine that's serving the web page (which, as it's designed, would be your local Mac). This application needs to receive approvals from the web page events, and also needs to be on your machine so that it can use AppleScript to set the metadata in your Aperture library so that the approved pictures show up in the smart group. Neither of these are possible if the site is served on .Mac.
In theory, this could run on a remote machine, since AppleScript can target processes on remote machines. But to make it work, you'd still need the CGI application on the server, and you'd also need to open your Mac to allow remote AppleScript execution over the Internet (which gets into network setup, probably secure SSH tunnels, etc). Your Mac would also still need to be on, and allowing this connection, otherwise Aperture wouldn't be notified when someone approved pictures.
To make a short story long, it won't work with .Mac.

HELP: Flash CS5, can't publish for flash player 4

I want to create a flash ad for google AdWords using Flash CS5.
according to the guidelines (http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=guide.cs&guide=1308145&topic =1310862&answer=176108&rd=2) I am required to publish for flash player 4:
Flash versions: All Flash ads must be published for Flash Player version 4-10.
Flash CS5 doesn't offer me to target flash player 4 in the publish settings!
how to resolve that issue?

Captivate 7 App Publisher for Mac

Hi,
I'm experiencing some issues with trying to use the App Publisher for Captivate 7 on a Mac. Things do not show up like demonstrated in this video from adobe (Package the HTML5 content for devices using Adobe Captivate 7 App Packager). Here's a quick screencast on what I'm running into.
Also, here are the details on how the project was published prior to importing into the App Publisher.

Thanks for the ideas. The dark gray border at the top and bottom are ok, the problem is the light gray border I get. I tried the Skin Editor, but it only removed the top and bottom dark gray borders, not the gray.
I can't use the Flash on the slide because I need them to be HTML 5 compliant.

I think there is an issue of context here. why are you attempting to browse to a web service with a browser? This "error" is simply the default response of the web service to a HTTP GET request, that is, "I don't publish metadata. send a real service request".
if you are unable to see the Silverlight parts, it's probably due to certificate issues, but you might want to go through

SCCM Subscriptions Issue

Good Morning
Im having an issue with SCCM and setting up subscriptions. I have a Subscription that has been setup to run each and every Monday morning at 5:55am. This subscription generates a report from SCCM and because I have set it up as a windows file share it is
supposed to drop the report file in to the location of c:\temp. The report is the default "Antimalware Overall Status and History" that comes pre installed with configuration manager.
The subscription is setup in the following way;
The problem I am having is that this seems to work for the first week. However on the second week it fails with the error "Failure writing file
\\sharename\antivirusname.mhtml ; A log on error occurred when attempting to access the file share. The user account of password is not valid"
I'm not entirely sure what is causing this as the username and password of the service account has not not been changed and also the share that it is writing the file to (in this case c:\temp) the user account has modify access.
Again this works every time on the first week but after that it fails.
Any help with this would be great as it's been an on going issue now for quite a few months and am still unable to see why.

According to your description, you encountered an error when generating a windows file share subscription second time. Right?
In Reporting Services, it uses the Win32 LogonUser API to impersonate a Windows login with the username and password we provided for subscription. When the username or password is not valid, the SSRS will throw the error "A logon error occurred when attempting
to access the file share. The user account or password is not valid". In this case, you have checked the username and password are all correct. However, you also need to make sure the user has permission to logon the Report Server machine locally. Please follow
the steps below to allow logon locally:
1. On Reporting Services report server, open Local Group Policy Editor by running command "gpedit.msc"
2. Go to this configuration: Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\
3. Double-click "Allow log on locally"
4. Now, add the user(the user to access the file shard) to the list.
