ICal won't accept input

If I try to modify any of my events the app won't let me type inside any input boxes.

I have it set to automatic. I've tried dargging it, I've tried doubble clicking it in Finder. I've tried every way I can think of.
And as I mentioned, other invitations works. And this invitation works for others.

  • ICal won't accept Google Calendar password

can't sync with my Google calendars anymore.
I have deleted the calendar accounts on my Mac.
Set up the 2-stpe passwords on Google.
Tried to create new accounts in iCal with my email address (is not a gmail account) and app specific password:
    - used Automatic Account setup: get a "Server With Secure Communication Unavailable" error message
    - used Google account type: it finds my account - asks me again right away for the password. I enter it. It creates the account but gives me the error icon and wants my password over and over without syncing.
    - used CaDAV account type: I enter User Name, app specific password and for server address: google.com
again, it finds my account and wants passwword right away.
I have also tried to use for a server address the calendar URL (https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/[email protected]/user) - no go.
I have quit iCal after various account setups and reopeen - always the same problem:
Alert icon next to the calendar account and when I click on it, it wants me to enter the password. I do and nothing happens - no syncing.
When I go to Delegates of the created account, I get an error message saying: Sever did not recognize your user name or passwword....
I only use the app specific password. I do have a different user name than my email address - but I have tried to use both at different times - no go.
    Any ideas?

I haven't tried your fix yet, but I was having the same problem with iCal and now I have it with everything. Google wants to link with OS X for a number of apps - fine - I enter my password - still fine - then there's another window: will you accept x,y, z? I click 'accept' and I get 'Google authentication failed'. I have changed my password three time just to make sure I am using the correct password, but no.
I do wonder if the problem is gmail - the password window opens with my gmail address (which I never use) filled in. I change it to my real email address and the password is fine until it gets to the 'accept' thing. Just appeared in notifications again: Enter you pssword for [my username] in Internet Accounts. I just can't be bothered to try again.

  • ICal won't accept a resent invite after previous decline

My CEO sent me a meeting invite this morning, and I initially declined it as I was not going to be available. I was subsequently able to make some space in my schedule for the meeting and asked him to resend it.
So now I've got a new email, also with an ICS meeting attachment, but clicking on it opens iCal without showing the meeting. Is there some trick to getting this to work, or is the meeting lost forever unless the sender makes some change?
As an aside, declining the invite gave me no opportunity to give an explanation, so all my CEO got was a frosty email from me saying "<name> has declined your iCal event invitation to the event: Updated: DB install, scheduled for 20 May 2010 at 14:00 (GMT+00:00)."
A "career limiting moment", I'm sure you'll agree - is this really is the best iCal can do?

  • Ical won't accept password from att

how to get ical to accept att pasword

I have the same problem. I went to the apple store and they told me to Reset the iPad (That means every downloaded app will be deleted so they've advised me to back it up on my iCloud account or in iTunes account using my PC) I dont wanna do it since I can still use my BB Curve mobile hotspot. It connects to my ipad by disabling the password of the hotspot. I havent tried disabling the hotspot password on my iPhone 5 (I don't know how to do it) I haven't tried reseting the iPad yet but it might helpful to you.

  • "Ask Apple Support" in Contacts link won't accept input...

Trying to get help via Apple Support, but the same screen simply returns after submitting a question. Anyone else having the save problem?

When I go to "Contact" in Apple Support and click "Get Started," there's a Welcome screen that pops up and asks if this is the same or difference issue. When I try to respond (to either) to "get started," the display just comes back to the same Welcome screen. In other words, I can't get Support to accept any input from my computer:
    https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action
Same thing on both my Mac Mini and old iMac, so I figured it had to be some kind of hangup on Apple's end. Exasperating. On the other hand, I've discovered through another poster that my early '09 Mini (2,1) isn't compatible with Mountain Lion anyway, which is what I was trying to install; so for now the Support access issue is moot. If you have any suggestion about viability of upgrading my Mini, I'd appreciate your insight. Thanks so much for your response.

  • Safari: web pages won't accept input

Suddenly, when I load web pages in Safari, I can't input anything. The pages load okay, but I can't actually interact or input data. For example, I can't change my Instant Que in Netflix and I can't input a comment on my facebook page. I can do those things okay in Firefox. Yesterday I disabled Java in both Safari and Firefox to combat the Flashback trojan, (my computer was not infected) but since Firefox still works okay I don't think that would have anything to do with it. Any ideas?

this may or may not help, depends on how you connect to the internet.
I've been having problems with safari not loading some pages and being slow for a couple of days.
so i tried the other browsers and got the same, couldn't connect to the itunes store either.
I connect using a router with a couple of mac's networked, I've being driving myself insane trying to gte things sorted, finally I reset the router, everything is now working.

  • ICal won't accept intelligent events

I know there are ways to use 'intelligent' times and dates to create an event in iCal. Only problem is, it isn't working for me.
Working on Lion and therefore the new iCal, in combination with MobileMe account which it syncs to. I tried a lot of things, different time formats, different ways to make clear which day, words from and till and so on. Nothing works.
Are there more people with this problem, or is there anyone who can be of help to me? Or am I just doing something wrong and can someone provide me with the proper format to use the intelligence of Apple.
    Thanks in advance.
    TW

I had this problem, too! My solution was to go to "settings", "mail, contacts, calendars", and select the option for ical to sync "events 3 months back". Since I was trying to add an event to April (Present Time is May), my MacBook iCal registered the new event, but it was too far back for my iphone to register and sync it. Hope this solves your problem, too!

  • I don't know why my iCal won't accept my Google password for syncing purposes.  I just updated the password last night. It says this: "The password may have entered is incorrect"

My ICal, keeps saying: "The password may have been entered incorrectly. Reenter the password for account “Google” on the CalDAV server “calendar.google.com.”

    Greetings Joe,
What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
    Try:
Go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and remove all unneeded accounts especially Gmail / Google.
Go to iCal > Quit iCal
Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access
Use the search bar to locate anything called "calendar.google.com" and then delete it.
Go to Keychain Access > Keychain FirstAid > Repair
Once complete go to Keychain Access > Quit Keychain Access
    Restart the computer.
Go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and re-enter your Google account.
    Hope that helps!

  • MBP won't accept input from keyboard seemingly at random

Recently (the past couple of months) I have been having this weird problem with my 2008 MBP. I will try to input something using the keyboard (type in a URL in the browser, type in my name and password to give my kid extra time on parental controls, type a reply on a message board), and I can't type anything. I hear that little bong, bong at each keypress, like I am doing something wrong, and nothing appears. I will have to close and reopen Firefox (usually works), or just restart my computer.
Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen? It happens so randomly I haven't been able to guess what might be causing it. Thanks.

This is a bit of a wild guess.  Try a PRAM reset.  It can do no harm.

  • My iPad won't download apps it keeps acting for Apple ID an pamymssword when I input this information it still won't accept it

My iPad won't accept my password when trying to connect to iTunes...why

Have some of the apps and music on your iPad been purchased using a different Apple ID? If so, this could be the problem.

  • WINE won't accept *some* keyboard input.

I'm not entirely sure whether this is the right place to ask something about WINE, but since most people do, I think it's fine.
Anyway, I'm having a little trouble with WINE. It won't read some input on some games like Astro Tripper and Warning Forever. It works perfectly (almost) on Ragnarok private server stuff, but on these two, i dont know.
    Specific to Astro Tripper:
-The only button I can press is Enter. I can start the game then crash into a wall And yeah, the escape key works too. Arrow keys wont work, even in the menu.
    Warning Forever:
    - The only button that works is F12, which does only one thing: restart the game. Arrow keys wont work, even in the menu. [edit: works now. solves only this problem though]
    Limit RO
    - Flawless, except public chat. You can ignore this problem
    What I tried to do:
    - remove all wine config stuff and reinstall wine. Also, installed the latest DX redistributable.
Warning Forever is a very small game (700kb). I hope someone figures this out. Btw, I also tried running on both wine with virtual desktop and without virtual desktop

Exactly same thing here! I thought it was because of Musca (WM) because I changed a lot of its full screen handling code.
Musca can switch between floating and tiled. This makes for the following:
Tiled: Wine won't get input except at the start of the game sometimes not even
Switch to floating: Wine gets input
Cycle in group and back to Wine: Wine does not get focus until you switch to Tile and back to Floating
Cycle to another group and back to the Wine group: Wine keeps focus
So for the most comfortable usage where I switch to and from Wine a lot I have to put it in its own group in Floating mode.
Perfect Dark can regain focus by clicking some search keys.

  • Windows 8.1 install won't accept OEM product key

I downloaded the Windows 8.1 RTM ISO from TechNet today and wanted to test it on a Thinkpad W530 I have here that has a Windows 8 Pro OEM licence.
When I mounted the ISO and ran the setup it's prompting for a product key. I'm confused because my understanding is the product key is stored in the UEFI bios and I was expecting the 8.1 setup to detect it. During the original Windows 8 installation it never
prompted for the product key and activated without issue.
I've checked my product keys on TechNet and I have 3 unclaimed keys for 8.1 that I assume would work but It'd be preferable for me to retain my OEM licence.
I used Magic Jellybean to obtain the OEM key but the 8.1 setup won't accept it and returns "That key can't be used to activate this edition of Windows. Please try a different key."
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
OEM activation is performed by associating the operating system to the firmware of the computer. This process occurs before the computer is sent to the customer so that the software is already activated and no additional actions are required by the user.
OEM activation remains valid as long as the customer uses the OEM-provided image on the computer.
So, if you want to clean install Windows 8.1, you need to input the Windows 8.1 install key to accomplish the Windows installation, after that you can try to activate your system by network or Phone. Meanwhile, I want to know did you got any Windows 8.1
product key when you download Windows 8.1 from TechNet? If so, you can try to use them when you install Windows 8.1.

  • Upgrade from CS3 to CS4 won't accept CS3 serial number

    Hi
I bought a downloadable upgrade to CS4 Design Premium a couple of weeks ago, installed OK, accepted the new serial number but when it asked for my CS3 serial number it won’t accept it. I have contacted Adobe Support and they told me that I needed to reinstall as they thought that it was doing this because I hadn’t chosen International English as the language and my original CS3 was set to International English. I did this but it still won’t accept my old serial number and I am having to use the programmes as a trial version. I have contacted Adobe again but it has been a week now and no response – has anyone else had this problem? I am getting concerned about what will happen when the trial runs out!
    Thanks for your help
Message was edited by Jochem van Dieten: removed attached image with serial number

Downloaded OK – Installed OK – when I open any of the programmes I get a Software Setup box that opens asking to choose the option of using the product on a trial basis or inputting my serial number – I input the new CS4 serial number and that is OK – then you click next and it brings up an Upgrade Check asking you to select a product that you already own (this is only a drop down menu of CS3 items, i.e. Design Premium, Master Collection etc) and asking you to input the serial number for this product – this is where it is falling over – I  input my old CS3 serial number and I get a cross and a box that comes up saying <The serial number you have entered does not match the product you have selected. Please try reentering the serial number, or selecting a different product from which to upgrade> this is where I am putting in my CS3 Design Premium serial number and it won’t accept it even though it is correct and is even listed under my Adobe Account as CS3 Design Premium!
    Hope that makes more sense

  • FCE won't accept serial no

    Hey all,
My Macbook pro packed it in last week so I replaced it with a new 27" iMac. I used migration to recover all my files from the Hard drive when I started the iMac. However when I came to open final cut express it was asking me for a serial no, i tried several times to input the information but it kept saying that it wasn't valid. I know that o's are zero's and l are ones but even after trying to reinstall the software it won't accept the serial no. I'm getting pretty frustrated now, any advice is greatly appreciated!
    FCE ver 3.5
    Mac OSX 10.6.4
    3.2GHz intel core i3

You should not migrate the pro apps like FCE from one computer to another, You really need on uninstall (use FSC Remover) and reinstall from the discs.
