Icecast package bug [SOLVED]

Systemd is unable to start icecast service.
I edited /usr/lib/systemd/system/icecast.service and removed -b arg from ExecStart and now works. I think this change should go upstream, so I'm posting it here.

Looking at the package, they aren't even supplying the .service file, Arch is (or rather Lukas Fleischer is). If it needs changed, it needs changed here, so file a bug report.

Another iOS packager bug

Came across another bug in iOS packager. In my project I have a function looking like this:

It correctly returns 'null' if packaged in ipa-debug-interpreter, apk-captive-runtime modes or if running in ADL. But it returns '0' if packaged in ipa-ad-hoc mode. I had to spend a whole day to figure out where is the problem. This is not the first type cast issue I came across. And it takes a lot of effort everytime to debug (10 minutes to build the project!). I'm breaking a dead line giving my customer an excuse that 'Adobe packager for iOS does not work right'. Which sounds like total BS of course. Adobe, please, get this straight. It is hard enough to develop with AIR for mobile. Bugs like this one make it much worse. Either way, I'm planning to advocate for using native tools in our next projects.

I'm still using AIR 3.2. Unfortunately, I don't have a chance to try latest AIR 3.4 at the moment. But I will check the same code when I update AIR SDK.
The code I posted is not a real code of course. I had to strip some logic and modify operators a bit. But I had hoped the bug would still reproduce. From my experience, most of the iOS packager bugs are caused by the rules of type casting that are not AS3 compliant. I have an impression that type casting rules used in the packager are more like classic C type casting rules. As the result, same code executes differently on iOS and Android|Windows. And it has being a huge problem for me.

Cannot upgrade pacman due to conflict with package-query [SOLVED]

Package query 0.9 requires pacman <4, package-query 1 requires pacman >=4, therefore I am totally unable to upgrade, even using pacman -f
I'm aware that package-query is unsupported software, but this seems a bit stupid to me! Am I to uninstall package-query and therefore yaourt, only to reinstall them by hand, or is there a safe workaround?

Every other distro I've tried is inferior and eats up far more frustration time than Arch, which is why it's now on all my machines. Time taken so far: 44 minutes (inc reading up on a few errors, plus line-by-line comparison of rc.conf.pacnew, reboot plus check of basic system workiness, plus waiting unsuccessfully for package-query source to download).
Status: yaourt uninstallable (package-query git server appears to be down), openjdk6 broken due to bug, system otherwise appears healthy.
Prognosis: Total 90 minutes for 4 machines seems a reasonable (optimistic) estimate, but I'll further put the other machines off until package-query git server is back up and running.
And many apologies, this has veered somewhat off-topic and off-forum. I will probably make this my last post and let it die.

Is chroma bug solved in new version of AME5.5 when transcoding to ProRes?

About a year ago I had posted to the forums about a "chroma bug" observed by me and others when using Adobe Media Encoder v.5.0.1 to transcode AVCHD to Pros Res 422. It would result in chroma bleed and a softer image versus a sharper transcode using Apple's Compressor. I have attached a link here to my previous posting which shows jpeg images of what AME v.5.0.1 was doing to the image.

I would download a trial version of the new Adobe Media Encoder 5.5 (but I believe because it's a trial version that they disable transcoding from AVCHD feature).
Are there any current users of AME 5.5 out there encoding to Pro Res? If so, what have been your results?
My hope is that this chroma bug issue is solved for v.5.5 but I really have no definitive way to test it unless I purchase the upgrade...as the trial version won't allow me to transcode from AVCHD.
The catch 22 is that I didn't want to purchase the upgrade until I knew the bug was fixed. I reported it to Adobe at the time of my initial posting but received no feedback or acknowledgement of the issue. Most of my editing is done in Pro Res rather than natively...hence this is an important item for me.
Thanks for any thoughts other users can share.

Sure it will. The CS5.5 trial now has all MPEG limitations removed, so you can fully work with all supported formats for 30 days in the trial.
I seem to recall reading something about the chroma sampling bug being fixed, or at least, improved. But give the trial a shot and you'll know for sure.

Using a package for solving many mutating tables.....

When you write "use api's"... can you give some more
details....?????I mean to have a package to do all your dml in nice clean functions and procedures like procedure hire_employee, procedure fire_employee, function salary_including_commission and so on. Your procedures will include logic to validate all business rules. Then grant execute privileges on this package (api) to the users that should be able to work with employees and revoke all DML privileges on the table from anyone, even revoke the "CREATE SESSION" privilege from the schema owner when done installing to prevent direct access on the table.
Now every DML action will be through your api and it's not possible to bypass constraint validation.

InDesign has a huge packaging bug!

I love InDesign BUT...
How could InDesign CS4 get out the door with such a huge bug? The packaging doesn't add all the linked files to the packaged folder. Luckily, our printer was in town and we were able to save it back to CS3 and package it from there. That's a HUGE problem! I hope the software engineers are able to fix it quickly and provide us with a patch ASAP.

There was an issue on the Macintosh platform where linked files with certain characters (characters allowed in Mac file naming conventions, but not on other platforms like /,\, and *) would cause InDesign to stop collecting links. This was fixed with, I think, the 6.0.2 update.
Best practice, however, in these days of cross-platform computing is to avoid the use of any character in a filename which is unsupported across all operating systems. You never know where your files are going to end up.

No it should not happen, this is the same bug.
I guess either when you suspended or resumed, your network was down at some point, so libfetch returned -1 and triggered the infamous pacman bug.

New message on stopping filesystem [BUG solved]

Well, today there is an update for filesystem package, and I have installed it by Pacman -Syu, but now when I am stopping PC, and it's going to stop filesystem daemon, appears this message:
umount: /dev device is busy
Before upgrading, it don't appear.
It's normal? Is there anyone who has the same problem?

Pacman or package bug with codecs-20061022-1

I have noticed that every time I do a pacman -Syu, pacman insists on upgrading the package codecs-20061022-1 from extra/multimedia. Now, I have no idea whether this is a local issue or a bug. Just wondering if anyone has this issue. My search on the forums and in the bug reports gave nothing.

Disk Utility BUG SOLVED @@ COME AND READ @@.

On some of the older imac and mac books some of your may have problems using the restore tab in disk utility.
You are unable to drag the disk to the last slot.
I figured it out today.You don't have to install any third party software or use any terminal thingy.
Ok
So you launch disk utility and go to restore tab and you drag your dmg file or whatever on the first slot and you can't drag anything into the second one.I want you to drag it from the left hand side, On your desktop for example your usb thumbdrive is call MAC1 but dragging it from desktop to disk utility will not work.I want you to find MAC1 or whatever you use on disk utility on the left and drag it into the box.This will work.You can go on can try restore now@@@@.
If they say error 16 or something i want to you to unmount anything you have mounted and try restore again.it should work now.
If it doesn't work i can't help you
But anyway this works best with usb.So have fun

There is no bug. The instructions specifically say to drag the disk from the list to the left!

I just took the plunge and added [testing], [community-testing] and [multilib-testing] to pacman and updated 102 packages, including, of course, the Big Python Move of 2010. Nothing is broken (yet) except for calibre, or actually, python-cssutils-beta found in AUR. For AUR files that break with /usr/bin/python calls, should it just be reported on the AUR page?

Yes, report to the AUR page to its maintainer. Submit a patch if you can (sometimes its as easy as grepping for /usr/bin/env python or /usr/bin/python and changing to python2, or calling the .py scripts with python2 explicitly).

10.1.3 View Package Bug

1. Select "New JHeadstart Application Definition".
2. Add additional package name to "View Package" (i.e. hr.viewcontroller)
3. Open App Structure File
4. View package is what was defaulted not "hr.viewcontroller"

Thanks for reporting. We wil fix it for production version, probably by removing the view package entry in the wizard all together, as there are many other service-level settings that should be carefully evaluated before generation anyway.

Sublime Text 2: I can't install this package. [SOLVED]

I found a really feature rich text editor similar to Gedit called Sublime Text 2 which can be downloaded (in my case 32bit linux) as a .tar.bz2 file. I extracted the file using the tar command and I have a directory. I know if I cd to a directory and find the file I can make/make install and eventually get the program installed to the system, which I have done with ABS before. However, I am having trouble doing this with this program because it isn't in ABS and I don't see this package anywhere with the official package list. It has an executable file that I can open the program and use temporarily but I haven't been able to successfully install this program as of yet. Any suggestions? Has anyone else heard of this package? Any help would be much appreciated.

I tried deleting it but still no luck.
Reinstalled it and no go either.
With it elrepo deleted this is the error I get.

CG$ERRORS package bug in code.
