ICloud restore. Can't retrieve list of music from iTunes

Restored my iPhone from iCloud and opened the iTunes app to see my music I had purchased through iTunes.
When I click on 'not on this IPhone'
Nothing happens.
No spinning wheel, it's frozen and closes the app after a few minutes!
I've tried erasing my iPhone and doing this again.
It's still doing the same thing!
I don't own a computer etc but would like my purchased music back on my iPhone.
But iTunes isn't letting me doing so.
Anybody else had this?

Can't get it to load from where?
What have you tried?
What happened?
Any info about your issue?

  • Should I set up separate apple ids for my kids or should we use mine?  If we separate them, can we still share our music from itunes?

I have an iphone 5s and an ipad that both use my apple id.  Last week, my 2 kids got iphones so they are also using my id.  Should we create separate apple/icloud ids for them or should we all use mine?  Can we continue to share music from itunes if we have separate ones?  I'm really not sure of the best way to handle this and I don't want to screw anything up!  I really appreciate any help!  Thanks so much!

There can be more than one Apple IDs for one iPhone, and each ID will be responsible for its own functions. You could, for example, set up one for iCloud, which will contain your contacts, calendars, settings, your backups, etc. But at the same time you could have another Apple ID for purchasing your apps, so when you buy or get free app, App Store will ask you for Apple ID and you can enter another ID that is not the same that keeps your backups and settings.
If you want to separate your sons iPhone from your ID completely, you can change it in iCloud settings. Also it will make your children's life a lot easier.

  • I have just got an iPad and I want the music to be transferred through my iPod touch using iCloud but I didn't get the music from iTunes so I don't think it will let me do it. Do you have any tips that could help me?

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

How can I edit or delete music from itunes match?

    Hi,
If you activate match on your new laptop, you will have access to all music that you matched or uploaded. You have the option to retain the music by downloading to your computer. If you delete music, it will delete from cloud.

  • HT203128 I can't drag and drop music from iTunes 12 to iOS 8 iPhone 5s. How do I move music now?

I connect the iPhone to itunes. that works. Everything shows up fine, but I can't drag and drop music from the 'music' section of iTunes 12 on my new mbp or my iMac. I used to be able to. Also, when I slide to delete songs on the iPhone, they still appear as 'ghosts' in the list on iTunes when the phone is connected - if I double click them, a exclamation mark in a circle comes up on the left of the track and it doesn't play. Can anyone help? Kind of need to get this sorted - it's bloody frustrating. I've restarted iPhone, iMac, MBP, downloaded the latest versions of iOS, OS X 10.10.3.

you iphone does not work like a regular ipod, where you can drag and drop music, you must sync it with itunes. plug it into your computer, click on the icon that is labeled iphone. when you do this there is a section on the top that says music. click on that, then you can select playlists and artists, etc. then click apply. it should work then

  • Can my family share purchased music from iTunes

We all have our own accounts with iTunes but it seems stupid that have to buy the songs 4 or 5 times.
If I was to go out and buy a CD and import it, we could all use it.
Is there a way that I can buy music from iTunes and my family can use it? Or the other way round?

Sure.  Put all of the music on overyones computer and authorize all of the computers for all of the accounts.

  • HT201272 Why can't I download my music from iTunes onto my ipod?

I got a new laptop computer, downloaded iTunes on it and retrieved my music from my old computer into this iTunes.  However, now I cannot download new music or any music for that matter onto my iPod nano.  I can sync music from my iPod to my computer but not the other way around.  Even re-registered my iPod again, but this does not seem to matter.  What am I doing wrong?  Never had this problem before.  My computer has Windows 8 if that makes a difference.

The people who answer here are just users like yourself, and how long it takes depends on who is around and happens to see your post. You can't expect an immediate answer, though you might be lucky and get a quick one - but it might take some hours or even a day or so.
However, you've posted in the forum for Producing Podcasts - heaven knows why - which is not in any way related to your question, and so which reduces the likelihood of anyone who knows the answer seeing your question. I've asked the Hosts to move your posts to the iPad forum.

  • Can I download updates or music from iTunes whilst MacBook is sleeping?

Is there a way around this. I wish to download a lot of my music from iCloud , like 40gb worth but I don't want to keep the MacBook "awake" does it download when it's sleeping?
The same with system and app updates, it seems to stop when it goes to sleep, is there a way around this?
Because the download is so big I will have to leave it open and turn the energy setting off so it doesn't go to the auto sleep
    Help please!

No. The Mac must not be in sleep mode when downloading from iCloud. Same goes for app updates.
However, you can put the display to sleep when downloading content. Just not the hard drive.

  • I can no longer play my music from iTunes on my computer.  i get the error prompt: The song (name) could not be used because the original file could not be found.  What do I do?

not sure what to add other than to repeat myself.  ive lost ability to play music from my iTunes library on my computer.  Everything is there but i get an error message that says '"The song (name) could not be found.  Would you like to locate it?   Then it gives me the option to locate or cancel.  i can't do that for 3800 songs!!  i have all my music in separate folders by album and all individual selections in an external hard drive.  i can play from there but thats clicking on one number at a time.  i lost my capability in the process of Microsoft correcting a problem with my outlook program.  Why, i haven't a clue.   help!!

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • Can't fade out audio (music from iTunes folder)

I can change the rate at which the audio in my iMovie slideshow supposedly fades in and out, but whether or not I use automatic or manual fading, the audio does not actually fade in or out. Nothing happens if I change the volume on slider, as well.
The music is from my iTunes music. These particular tracks are from a CD that I imported into iTunes.
What I am doing wrong, or is this not possible with iTunes tracks from CDs?
    Thanks.

  • When can we able to purchase music from iTunes Store?

    Hello;
I would like to purchase songs from itunes store for my iphone but I can't. Because itunes turkey store that isn't an option and itunes US store doesn't authorize my credit card to make any purchases either. As far as I know some licensing issues need to be resolved in Turkey. So, Is Apple making any plan to resolve those licensing issues in Turkey? Thank you.

For music, you do not need the iTunes Store. You can purchase MP3s from any online source that is available where you live, and add the MP3s to your iTunes library.

  • How can I find re-download music from iTunes?

I downloaded songs from iTunes on my phone, but when I sync with my computer it won't transfer the songs.
I thought to purchase them again, but they say they've been purchased when I'm in the store, so I can't even buy them again.
I've tried the "check for available downloads" button, but that didn't work either.
Oh and I should mention that the album art was lost as well during the last sync.
Could it be that my computer just doesn't like my taste in music?
