  • ICM Profile Parameter  icm/host_name_full is disabled

    Guys ,
Coming back to the problem ,  icm/host_name_full is disabled in SMICM . how to fix my prev problem

    Hi Craig,
I found one discrepancy . When I go to SMICM and the goto Display Parameter , I found this
    Misc
    icm/host_name_full             = IGATESAP05
    icm/http_handshake             = 1
icm/cancel_strategy            = cancel requests without session (stateless)

    is/SMTP/virt_host_0            = :;
But when I go to Change Parameter I found that <b>icm/host_name_full</b> value is empty and it is disabled.

  • Profile parameter icm/host_name_full is not set correctly

    Hi All,
I am  working on Solution Manager 4.0. When I execute TCODE "SOLUTION_MANAGER", it gives the following error:
Profile parameter icm/host_name_full is not set correctly (see long text)
When I click on "Long Text", it gives me the following message widow:
    Message Number: SOL_GRAPHIC002
    Diagnosis
The graphic cannot be displayed, since the profile parameter icm/host_name_full is not set correctly.
    Procedure
Set the profile parameter icm/host_name_full correctly.
For more information, see SAP Notes 434918 and 677118.
I have referred to both the notes above. In note# 434918, it says that I need latest kernel patch (which is 150).Also the icm/host_name_full parameter parameter was not there in Solution Manager, so I created in the following manner:
    Parameter Name =icm/host_name_full
    Parameter Value=smgdcs1s.example.com
But however, the error continues to be the same.
    Kindly help me asap.
    Thanks in advance.

  • HowTo use icm/host_name_full correctly

    Hi Experts,
    The situation:
SAP ERP system is hosted extern. The current configuration via DNS is from client to server: testsystem.orga.com. The link http://testsystem.orga.com:8080/sap/bc/bsp/sap/it00/default.htm works via the browser.
    Problem:
If I start a WebDynpro project and navigate to the Main-View (which is generated automaticly), I get the an error message in tab Layout : HTTP-Error 403 - Forbidden
It also shows the address http://hg23581.wdf.sap.com:8080
The variable icm/ host_name_full is set to http://hg23581.wdf.sap.com:8080.
Is it possible to change the variable to the entry in the DNS service on client configuration (http://testsystem.orga.com:8080)? Or would then some services on server side be blocked?
The basis guys sad to me the internal address on client side wouldn't be reached from server side. But I think they also have to insert a new DNS record for http://testsystem.orga.com:8080?!
    Thanks,
    Steffen

The variable icm/ host_name_full is set to http://hg23581.wdf.sap.com:8080.
Sure, this is pointing to a SAP server instead of your own host (even if its a remote host)... just change the icm/ host_name_full to your own host and as long as the DNS know the host and address you should be fine.

  • Setting ICM icm/host_name_full

    Hi
We have developed some BSP's that run via SE80 having been configured in the ICF.
I had a problem in DEV that the URL was not fully qualified when you ran the BSP, i solved this problem by setting parameter icm/host_name_full=<server>.domain.com, this worked in DEV & QA and the url was fully qualified and the BSP ran ok, you could see this fully qualified in SMICM - goto - Parameters - Display.
I have now set the parameter :
    icm/host_name_full=<server>.domain.com
in our production envirnment, but when you use the BSP, the url is not fully qualified, I have checked thorugh SMICM - goto - Parameters - Display and the icm/host_name_full is not fully qualified there, I then checked RZ11 for parameter icm/host_name_full and it is fully qualified correctly in what I entered.
I have found OSS Note 77380 - FQHN determination in ICM, looking at this note is states parameter SAPLOCALHOSTFULL has the highest priority, so it is used to resolve the FQHN, looking at our production Instance profiles, SAPLOCALHOSTFULL and SAPLOCALHOST are set with just the server name, not the domain name, this is a Windows server 2003 64 bit clustered, so its a high availability system, looking at the note, I think I need to set parameter SAPLOCALHOSTFULL=<server>.domain.com and restart SAP.
Looking at our DEV & QA instance profiles SAPLOCALHOSTFULL & SAPLOCALHOST are not set.
Are there any other parameters I need to change to get the BSP working with the FQHN ? restarting production is difficult as we run 24*7, so I have one more opportunity before we go live with the BSP's.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Rahul
    Thanks for the response.
I have just checked the hosts file on the server and the server IP is against just the server name, not the FQHN of <server>.domain
Should I just set the FQHN <server>.domain against the IP in the hosts file?
Should I also change parameter SAPLOCALHOSTFULL to FQHN of  <server>.domain as described in note  77380, it currently has just <server>
    Thanks.

  • Added icm/host_name_full to profile and connections died

  • Icm/host_name_full is not reflecting in SMICM parameters

    Hi Experts,
I have changed parameter icm/host_name_full in RZ10 and restarted the instance. Parameter is reflecting in RZ10 and also at OS level but not in  SMICM parameters.
Please let me know if something needs to be changed.
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
The ICM sets the FQHN using the following hierarchy.
    1.  The parameter SAPLOCALHOSTFULL in the SAP profile (recommended for
high availability configurations) has the highest priority. If it is
set in a profile file, the ICM uses this value as the FQHN. Note:
the system default value of SAPLOCALHOSTFULL contains the host name
without domain, so the system default is ignored by the ICM.
    2.  If the parameter is not set, icm/host_name_full is analyzed.
    3.  If this parameter is not set either, the ICM uses the FQHN of the
operating system. For this reason, check the settings of the hosts
file at the operating system level.
The parameter SAPLOCALHOST is not fully qualified and is not used by ICM
    for the services.
So verify SAPLOCALHOSTFULL first, icm/host_name_full second and the HOSTS
    file and DNS entries third.
    Hope this helps
    Michael

  • Page cannot be displayed - No Web Dispatcher - Only ICM running

    Hi,
Our training system is a ‘SAP ERP Central Component 5.0’, on a WAS 6.40 platform. There is only the Central instance running with all processes available, including ICM. The Dispatcher is NOT configured.
When entering following url, results in 'Page Cannot Displayed'error message:
    ===============================
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/hrrcf_start_int?sap-
    client=230&BspClient=230&sap-
    language=EN&BspLanguage=EN&rcfSpId=9001&rcfContext=MCC
<b>The 'Page cannot be displayed'error occurs FOR ALL SERVICES.</b> The above url was working before and as far as everyone here knows, there have been no changes.
The following url ping tests were SUCCESSFUL. These were typed directly into the Internet Explorer Address:
    ==================================================
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>//sap/bc/ping?sap-client=200
    and
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>//sap/bc/ping?sap-client=230
    and
    http://<virtual-FQDN>:<port>//sap/bc/ping
However, performing the ping test from Tx SICF, results in an error.  For some reason, the url resolves to Physical-FQDN for teh hostname.  However, when changing hostname to the Virtual-FQDN, then Ping works.  (Not sure why the Physical-FQDN is not working)
Also testing the service ‘hrrcf_start_int’ from Tx SICF, results in the same ‘Page cannot be displayed’ error.  (Same for all services)
From Tx SE80, INTERNAL has been selected for Publishing.
    Service has been activated.
Have run program SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INTERNAL from Tx SE38.  Services has also been deactivated and activated from Tx SICF.  None of this has helped resolve the error.
    Some ICM parameters as follows:
    icm/server_port_0     = PROT=HTTP,PORT=8012
    icm/host_name_full    = <virtual-FQDN>
As mentioned before, the url was working some 2 weeks back, but for some reason is no longer working.
    Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi Dezso,
    Thanks for your suggestion.
The issue is now being resolved.  The problem was as follows:
Previously the on-site Consultancy had configured one of the Transport Consolidation routes from DEV to TRN.  (This has now been reconfigured so that TRN as well as PRD are the TARGET routes from QA system.
However, previously ABAP Support Packages were applied to DEV & QA.  (& not to TRN).  Then a Developer transported the SPAU transport through the landscape and it obviously went to the TRN server.  (Transport was not imported into Production).
So TRN had no SPs applied, but the transport had been imported into TRN due to landscape setup.
Now the problem is due to an object that concerns authentication which was overwritten by the transport in TRN.  (Preventing user authentication).  We have a work around in that we can send the users directly through the ITS via a url, they can then authenticate and then they copy and paste the url they are using in the IE Address space.  After logging on, the IE session is still holding the session cookie, so no need to authenticate again after copying the url the user wants to use.  (I hope this makes sense?  No sure how better to describe this).
The longer term solution will be apply the SPs also to TRN and then apply the SPAU transport to TRN and it should then be fine.
    Regards,
    Sanjay

  • Changing ICM parameters

I tried to set the parameter icm/host_name_full, and searched sdn for this.
I found, that i can change this parameter in RZ10, but in which profile (default profile, instanz profile, startup profile)??
Is it correct, that i have to restart the application server after changing these values?
I want to activate SSL to, therefore i have to change some other parameters....

Well there is nothing drastic.  You still need to upgrade the system itself to 640 to get the new ABAP functionality such as the new debugger, shared objects, enhanced web services, simple XML Transformations, etc.  We did see a noticable difference in response time on BSP applications.  This could have been the kernel (enhanced coding in the ICM or in the ABAP runtime itself) or it could have been tuning changes that we made at the same time(profile parameter changes).  We don't get much downtime, so we usually have to combine mutliple activites into one downtime window.  That makes it hard to tell what exactly caused our performance improvements.

  • ICM Configuration

    Dear Gurus ,
I wanted  to configure ICM and have done the following setting
1.) Activated the services in sicf
2.) Configured the HTTP port in smicm-T-CODE
    3.) Configured the following parameter
    icm/server_port_0
    icm/host_name_full
    icm/HTTP/j2ee_0
    icm/min_threads
    icm/max_threads

  • Solution Manager error (icm/host_full_name)

    Hello All,
I am executing "solution_manager" in the Solution Manager system and immediately I get this error, "Profile parameter icm/host_name_full is not set correctly (see long text)".
The help, gives me the follwoing information :
"Set the profile parameter icm/host_name_full correctly. For more information, see SAP Notes 434918 and 677118."
Both notes were not of much help!
I have set the instance profile parameter called "icm/host_name_full" and set its value to the server's FQDN. Also excecuted SMICM to restart ICM. But, still I keep getting this error.
I restart SAP also, just to check if that is going to help, but to no avail.
    Am I missing something?
Really appreciate any help in this regard.
    Thanks in advance!

  • ICM-Server

is there a possibility do change the parameter "icm/host_name_full". because i don't want do work everytime on the server when i will create webdynpros.
    Thank you,

oh, i tried this, but it does not work. I also wantedm to change the number of processes and it does not work.

if i look to RZ11 in the parameter it points to localhost. If I want to create Web Dynpro from another host SE80 also points to localhost, so I must work on the server to create the application.
I hope you unterstand the problem.

  • Timeout Error

    Hi guys,
My Alert Inbox page and Alert Configuration page in RWB is not displayed , I am getting request timed out error.
I have created alert in ALRTCATDEF and tested it using RSALERTTEST. I have actived all the necessary SICF services required for creating Alerts , I have also reconfigured RWB using URL :
    http://<J2EE-Host>:<HTTP-Port>/rwb/rtc?op=init
But problem is still there , do i missing any other configuaration steps required for Alert Management?
    Regards,
    Keith.

    Hi Keith,
    Try the following:
    - You should give fully qualified host name for the xi server (parameter, icm/host_name_full). Also set the same in exchange profile parameter com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.r3.ashost.
    - Creating HTTP Destination pmistore in the Java Environment
from XI installation guide (config in visual admin)
    - Check if services in transaction SICF for RWB - if they are activated
    - on your XI box go to TCODE - SE38 and run program - RSXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES.
    - check SAP note: 750287 (XI 3.0 Runtime Workbench: Alert configuration does not start) and change values in your ExchangeProfile.
    - check if you can accept cookies.
    Hope it helps......

  • Report printing with BI pubisher - 500 Internal server error

    Hi,
I was having problems using BI publisher to print with. I thought we didn't have it at first, however since found we do have BI Publisher Enterprise edition.
When I put the settings into APEX, reports don't display as expected. I get
    report error:
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified. Now if I navigate to the URL in my web browser, http://[server]:[port]/xmlpserver/convert, I get a 500 - Internal Server Error page. The requets is definitely hitting something because if I change "convert" to say "convert1" then I get 404 (as expected). So it seems as if convert is found but then a problem occurs.
If I navigate to just http://[server]:[port]/xmlpserver/ then I see the BI publisher enterprise login screen.
Any ideas what might be causing this or what I could do to resovle it?
Our APEX instance is on a unix box and BI on a M$ box if that matters (long story)?
    Thanks

Dear Cobos, For FQDN related issues : Set profile param "icm/host_name_full" with corresponding FQDN via RZ10 transaction. Also check login/create_sso2_ticket & /accept_sso2_ticket parameters in the profile you have created.  Instead of "http://sesue:50300" you may to have the URL like "http://sesue.domain.com:50300//SAP/BW/BEX/".
