ICommand error using BAM 11g

Trying to use BAM tutorials for BAM 11g. I'm receiving an error when trying to import files using ICommand. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi All -
I'm getting a similar error to the one below (posted byFabricio Soares) when the BAM updates service is working. We are using ALBPM 6.0.2 alongwith Oracle OID / LDAP (integrated using a custom FDI plugin).
Any idea what could cause this problem? I've verified the BAM configuration - and the database tables exist (though are empty...).

I've received a reply from the support guys at BEA:
I just got notified from several other engineers , here at the labs , that there’s an issue on the installer itself . The BUG report has been already filed .
In the meantime the only alternative is to install ALBPM Studio 6.02 from scratch , with the following considerations :
- Uninstall
- Make sure that the directory had been fully erased
- Reboot the machine
- Install ALBPM 6.02
- Apply the latest Hotfix

This happend when you export from an installation of BAM and try to import to another one.
I had the same situation and I solved it changing the export file following this steps:
1. From the BAM where I want to import, export any object.
2. Open the file with an editor and look for the tag "OracleBAMExport" and the property Version. Keep this value in mind.
3. Open the file you want to import with an editor and look for the tag "OracleBAMExport" and the property Version, change this value with the value in the previous file
4. Import the changed file.

Oracle BAM 11g report to view WorkItems

Hi,
I have a requirement wherein we need a report displaying WorkItems summary.
The scenario is as follows:
SCNERIO: There's a BPM process in which human tasks are created for different types of approvals. Once a workitem is created corresponding to a human task and assigned to the corresponding user, need to display that in BAM report. Also, the BAM report should have the provision of searching and displaying the workItems based on Assigned User/Title of WorkItem etc. The report will have two panels,one having the dropdowns with various search criteria and a Search button. Once a search criteria is chosen and Search button is clicked, the details of the workItem should be displayed in the other panel.
Questions:
1. Is this possible using BAM 11g?
2. If yes, how and which report type to use?
3. If No, what could be the alternative way of implementing?
Any inputs would be really helpful,thanks.

Error while creating authorisation policy using OIM 11g API

Hi,
We have a requirement to create ‘Authorization Policies’ (assign Data Constraints, Permissions & Assignments) using OIM 11g API’s. I am using ‘oracle.iam.authzpolicydefn.api.PolicyDefinitionService & oracle.iam.authzpolicydefn.vo.AuthzPolicy’. But when I am trying to attach Entity/Feature (User Management) to authorisation policy, it is throwing exception. Below is the code snippet which I am trying to implement.

If you are using JDeveloper , can you able to get class after giving "." .If yes no than it is the problem with the jar file you are using .Check whether you can able to import oracle.iam.authzpolicydefn.api.Feature.

It's weird - it says it created the db user fine and then when it goes to use it, it says invalid credentials.....maybe you can find out more from the logs. Look in
D:\BAM\BAM_OC4J_HOME\install\bam\bam-config.log
and also
D:\BAM\BAM_OC4J_HOME\j2ee\home\log\bam\oraclebam.log
Also, you are using a database version that is explicitly listed as excluded from being supported in 11 - it's hard to say whether that is the reason for this error. If you could upgrade or switch to XE that would be worth trying.

BAM 11G - I can´t logon in the web application

I have instaled the BAM 11g with WLS 10.3 and the database is Oralce XE, i am having a problem logging in the BAM. When I put the user and pass, the page refresh and returns to the same page, so i can´t acesse the BAM Web Application.
I was analyzing the bam_server log and I saw 2 erorrs that can be intereting the solve the problem.

What build, release candidate are you using? Can you check in wls console that config/deployment is ok?

How to use BAM to start an XI message with multiple occorrences

Hi:
I am trying to use BAM to send some data to XI. It is working fine when I have a message that has only header information. I am able to do the binding and the message is being sent properly.
The problem is when I have a XI message with multiple occurrences. This message creates a complex proxy structure like the sample bellow:
-ZTSTPROXY (Header)
    -Header_Field1
    -Header_Field2
    -Occurrences (Items)
     -Item_Field1
     -Item_Field2
It is possible to pass data the he Header fields separately on BAM, but I have no access to the line fields on BAM binding screen (it shows me only the name Occurrence but no field).
So, I assumed that I have to pass the whole structure, not the fields separately. Then I tried to create a method on my Business Object that will return the same structure as my proxy, but this field cannot be used on BOR. I am receiving the message OL403 (Data Type cannot be used for methods).
Ok, I would not give up. I tried to use an Abap Class instead of a Business Object. By using the class I can define an attribute with the same data type generated by the proxy and it is possible to do the bind on BAM (directly to the output field, not to the specific fields on the structure).
But, when I raised the event, the message created on XI is empty. Only part of the tags were there and no field values.
Debugging on the event, I found that the problem is when it is trying to assign the container element on the method EVAL_ABAP_ASSIGN_CODE on the class CL_SWF_EXP_EXPRESSION. The program is raising the exception CX_SWF_EXP_DYN_ASSGIN_FAILED. Probably because the proxy structure is not allowed on the container.
Has anybody tried to pass a multi-line element to an XI message through BAM? How can this be done (if possible)?

Error starting OBIEE 11G coreapplications after loading new RPD file in EM

Hi,
After I have loaded my new RPD in EM, and restarting the BI coreapplications.
Basically the symptoms I am getting are very similar to this: https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2129556, I have tried removing other (sampleLIte RPDs) with no luck. Not sure what else I can do. The RPD's physical layer draws data from SQL Server. Have tested the system DSN and its ok.

Using OBEE 11G in Windows 7.

Its weird.
As part of my own investigation, I went to physical layer and saw my SQL Server was set wrong. I set it to 2008 the correct version.
Also my ODBC was set at 3.5, I changed this to 2.0. After doing this I saved it and reloaded it onto EM and it all worked. Just to verify that this was indeed the root cause, I reverted the settings back to original and loaded it again. It works.
Not sure in the end what was the root cause.

Error in starting 11g

Hello All,
I have tried to install OBIEE 11g on my system. When I install OBIEE 11g on my system, for 1st time it works very fine, I mean all services up, but the moment i restart my system. The problem starts, even though the services are up, i am not able to open anything, not even console manager.
I got error like:
obiee 11g “Error 404–Not Found From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol — HTTP/1.1: 10.4.5 404 Not Found
Next time I uninstall and install back it works fine, but if i restart again the same story.
Please experts if you have any solution to this problem, please help....i have gone through blogs but not a solution is working.

Column Formula with Error in OBIEE 11g

Hello,
On Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11g, I am trying to create an analysis. The database is MySQL. In the database, there is a field of type varchar(10). This
field shows a date. In OBIEE 11g, when creating the analysis, in the Criteria tab, I choose this column (varchar) and edit the formula of it. The operation that I want to do is:
YEAR(CURRENT_DATE) - SUBSTRING("TableName"."ColumnName" FROM 1 FOR 4) where the ColumnName is the name of the column of type varchar(10)
but I get an error: +[nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 27002] Near <->: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012]+
If I execute the same query directly on the MySQL database, I get the desired result without any error.
Also, if I use the following formula, I also get an error:

So, I am asking why the first query throws an error in OBIEE 11g but not when it runs directly on the MySQL database. Also, how can I convert in OBIEE 11g a string to integer?

It could mean several different things. Do you know if the administrator have shut down the services? If you have access to the server, check to see if all the services are up and running.

I have installed Oracle BAM on XP and tried to create a simple report using BAM Active studio. I have selected an object from sample folder ('Employees') and selected a simple report layout.I have done all the necessory steps mentioned in Developer user guide and when i clicked the 'Finish' Button I 'm getting the following error.

Fix :- Earlier i have defined all the BAM services as Localy.Modified those services to run it from my user id.

Oracle BAM 11g - Deployments and development questions

Hi!
I have few questions related to Oracle BAM 11g developement and deployment processes. We are going to use that together with Oracle SOA Suite 11g ( BPEL / BPM processes), and now my questions are related to development phase:
1. If we have two or more Oracle BAM developers with their own Oracle BAM server instances, and we would like to share our development work, should/can we you same database repository to share the reports, data objects?
2. How we can copy Oracle BAM Data Objects, Reports etc from one environment (dev) to other environments (test, accept test, integration test, production) ? In software deployment projects (like Spring or Grails web-projects) we have used version control system and CI to build packages to different environments etc. How is the Oracle BAM deployment process actually "planned to be" since it uses its database repository to store objects and reports ?
3. The Oracle BAM itself has nice reports etc (Oracle BAM Client) that can be used using IE browser. How if we have to show/include those reports from Oracle WebCenter Spaces ? Is it possible and how?

Assign ACL Error in Oracle 11g R1

Hi,
     I am Using Oracle 11g Database Release 1 I have created a ACL in my Database, now I am trying to assign the acl using the below mentioned pl/sql script

Error is

The same Script I have run in another database it is working fine…

Furthermore, it looks like your host variable is a domain name, did you try to use a wildcard i.e. *.domainnet.com or give the exact host name ?
