Icreasing maximum number of Simultaneous requests

Hello
I am working on running a web based application , dployed on SunONE app server on a Windows 2000 machine. The goal is to test the application under stress condition. The test client sends 500 simultaneous requests, but I see the number of threads on the appservd process as 176 . I have already increased the max number of Simultaneous threads setting on the HttpServere. Is there any other thing that needs to be changed
thanks
-Aniruddha

the appserver uses a pool of threads for servicing client requests. it doesn't spawn a new thread for each request. after handling a request from a client, the same thread can handle a request from another client.
The following link (although it is written for the webserver, it also applies to the appserver) contains some more information that you may find useful. A similar document for the appserver is in the works.

  • Maximum Number of Simultaneous Requests

I want to update the Maximum Number of Simultaneous Requests
from 4 to 6 or 8. A restart of ColdFusion Application Server is
required for changes to take effect. Has anyone experienced
problems with the change not taking effect and/or causing the
    service to not restart.
This has not happened. Being precautionary. The reason for
the question is that I made a change previously to the Max Heap
size from 1023 to 1535 in CF Admin, but when I attempted to restart
the CF service it would not. Finally had to change the Max Heap in
jvm.config back to 1023. Unsure why that would not accept it. The
variable is that the service is running with a non-admin user ID on
    the server. Thoughts?

The prevailing wisdom from Adobe for simultaneous requests is
very wrong and inaccurate. First off, editing the simultaneous
requests in the CFAdmin is safe to do. Editing your JVM settings
with the CFAdmin is very dangerous on Linux because the CF Admin
code can mangle the xml file. I'm not sure if this is true on
    Windows.
Now back to the simultaneous requests issue. If you have high
traffic and enough server processing power you can greatly increase
the request number. We currently run our CFMX 7.02 servers set to
100 simultaneous requests. And yes we've been maxed out at that
level. We see over 1.5 million page views per day on a single cf
server with only one instance of CF. As of today we switched to a
load balanced setup and split the load across two servers. The
reason we went load balanced is that we're expecting to more than
double our traffic. Anyways, the number of simultaneous requests
can be much higher than the 'General Wisdom' at Adobe.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I've seen the new setting for
simultaneous requests take effect with out having to restart CFMX.

  • Maximum number of simultaneous Template requests

    I am running a CF-server (standard) on a
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU           E5420  @ 2.50GHz, 8 cores
I have read somewhere on the net that you can set 8-10 maximum number of simultaneous template requests per core, which in my case
would be 64-80 simultaneous template requests.
    Is that a correct assumption?
This does feel quite high considering the default value of the server is 10 simultaneous requests.
    //Toby

It is the common rule of thumb, but that does not make it the correct or incorrect assumption.
What it does make is a common and usefull starting point, with the strong assumption that one will then load test ones system to make sure the setting accually works well with ones applications and hardware.  And that one will then adjust accordingly based on the testing.

  • Maximum number of simultaneous Template requests coldfusion 10 standard is not working

I tried to change the setting to 5 and submit changes, under request tuning setting ->
Maximum number of simultaneous Template requests is still showing as 0 even after the Coldfusion service restart.
    thanks

    Hi
In ColdFusion 10 Standard the Simultaneous requests should be equals to 10 or more than 10 however in ColdFusion 10 Enterprise there is no such restriction, the value can be of a single numeric digit as well like 5,4,6 or so on.
You can consider this as a benefit of running ColdFusion 10 enterprise
    Thanks

  • Which is the maximum number of simultaneous IP sessions on 7600 with/out SAMI?

Please I need help from someone who has ever wondered and get to know the maximum number of simultaneous IP sessions on 7600.
On the documentation, this is the applicable information that we find regarding the number of sessions:
    http://www9.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/isg/configuration/guide/isg_acess_sub_sessns_ps6922_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html
Beginning in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRE, the Cisco 7600 router supports IP subscriber sessions only on the SIP400 and ES+ line cards
The Cisco 7600 router enforces limits on the number of IP subscriber sessions per line card and router chassis. If the number of active sessions exceeds the following limits, an error message displays:
    - Cisco 7600 chassis—32,000 subscriber sessions (supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRE1 and later releases)
    - ES+ line card—4000 subscriber sessions per port group; 16,000 sessions per line card (supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRE and later releases)
    - SIP400 line card—8000 subscriber sessions (supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRD4 and later releases)
Let us suppose that we use the SIP400 line card, since ES+ is far from our networking requirements.
    Please confirm/answer the following:
No special license is required to use ISG with SIP400.
Is the 8000 session limitation per SIP400 module or per SPA attached to it?
I read in the documentation, that the SAMI card enhances the maximum number of ISG sessions:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/isg/configuration/guide/isg_sup_sami_blade.html
The ISG Support for SAMI Blade feature combines the subscriber management features and functions of the Cisco Intelligent Services Gateway (ISG) with the processing power of the Cisco Service Application Module for IP (SAMI). The Cisco SAMI blade has six PowerPC (PPC) processors and occupies just one slot in the Cisco 7600 series router. This means that you can support many ISG features for up to 600,000 subscribers on a single router.
We then assume that the SAMI blade overcomes the limitations noted above: 32,000 session/chassis and 8,000 sessions/SIP400. Correct?
No extra license is required to use ISG with SAMI.

How I can load a license in a home agent (modulo SAMI), which is installed in a 7606-S router?.

  • Maximum number of simultaneous NAT translations

    Hi all...
Does anyone know how many simultaneous NAT translations a low end device such as a Cisco RV016 supports?
I  know this is a low end device but I see no reason that with a typical  allocaiton of  220 bytes per entry and modern CPU's to walk the tree that this RV016  could not support 500 to 1000 easily?
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/iosw/ioft/ionetn/prodlit/792_pp.htm#wp39411
Any  reasonable device should support 500 to 1000? I believe a linux box  would do it effortlessly for 500 tcp/udp connections ,mapped via  NAT at 100Mbits/second but I would prefer a  cisco router any day.
I am looking for at least 500+ users  in on the WAN side to 1 or 2 servers on the LAN side behind the NAT wall.
Of course worst case would assume 1 to 1 NAT simultaneous translations for numbers.
What would be the mimum low end cisco gateway router I could use to do this 500 to 1? 1000 to 1?
Am I way off on this?
    Thanx.

  • Maximum number of MRAS requests / allocations per user?

    Hello,
I have a test C++ SIP application that registers to a Lync edge server and is able to perform MRAS requests to it.
The MRAS responses allow me to create TURN allocations on the TURN component of the edge server. However, I seem to be hitting a limit with the number of simultaneous TURN allocations I can create with a single registration.  I seem to be able to create
a maximum of 50 TURN allocations for that single registration.
Is this a configurable option - either per user / per edge server etc - for the maximum number of TURN allocations a single Lync user can simultaneously have?  Or is there anything else I can put in the SIP/TURN signalling to increase this limit?
    Many thanks,
    Simon

    Hi,
You may need to custom your own Lync server, so you might post the issue on Lync MSDN forum and more developing expert will help to verify the information using Lync SDK. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Limit on the number of simultaneous requests using SP.WebProxy.

I've created a SharePoint hosted app and have just added a license check to the app. The license check is done by making a call to a REST endpoint using SP.WebProxy. The app is implemented as an App Part, and as such there can be many instances
of the app on a page.
Everything works fine if there is only one or two instances of the app on the page. As soon as I add a third instance to the page however, the third instance starts failing the license check with the error "This app has reached its outbound
    request limit."
Obviously this is happening because all three instances are hitting the SharePoint Proxy service at the same time. It would appear as though there is a limit to the number of simultaneous calls that a particular app is allowed to make.
The problem is that I can't find any documentation regarding this limit. The error that I'm getting does not get a single hit in Google. Is this a limit that can be increased with a setting in web.config?
Does anybody know what documentation I can consult regarding this?

    Hi Mikhail,
Unfortunately no, we never did get any information on this. In our case since the data that we are querying is pretty much static, we ended up caching the data in a SharePoint list in the app web. We only access the WebProxy if the data is not cached. That
workaround solved the problem for us.
    Good luck.

  • Maximum Number of Simultaneous Accounts?

Is there a maximum number of accounts I can have running at the same time? I have fast user switching turned on and would like to run up to 10 accounts at a time.

    Daniel,
I don't see why not, but then I also don't see what possible reason you would have for doing this. Keep in mind that your MBP may become very sluggish with this many accounts active at one time, especially if you do not have your RAM maxed out.

  • Maximum number of spool requests per user

    Hello,
I realise this question is a bit off-topic....
We are experiencing problems with users that are creating 5000+ output requests in one time. As you can imagine, this is causing a lot of problems. Is there a possibility to limit the number of output requests per user?

  • Maximum number of simultaneously streaming AirPort Express stations?

    Hi everyone,
does anybody know how many AirPort Express (AirTunes) base stations iTunes can stream to? I know that you can select to use both your Mac's internal speakers and a wireless AirPort Express, but how many more stations can be used simultaneously?
I'm thinking of using a Mac mini (current model, 802.11n) and up to 10 (yes, ten) AirPort Express base stations (also 802.11n).
    Thanks
    Björn

Thanks for your reply! I was thinking the same, but had hoped somebody might have a big installation like this and could share his experiences. I found this (dated) support document which mentions that typically it's 3 to 6 stations: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1515
The n-model came out March 2008 so the document (from June 2008) might still be valid.
I'll wait a while before closing this thread in case somebody with a high number of Expresses sees it.
    Thanks!

  • Maximum number of simultaneous CGIs on iPlanet Web Server 6.0

I have installed iPlanet Web Server 6.0 on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2 machine. I have configured a directory as CGI directory. The actual CGI is an exe written using C++.
Now when I try to access this CGI from the browser, only 1 CGI is loaded at a time even if I send requests for multiple CGIs. I have added the following lines to my "magnus.conf" file:
    RqThrottle 128
    MinCGIStubs 10
    CGIExpirationTimeout 36000
    MaxCGIStubs 100
    CGIStubIdleTimeout 0
But still the CGI launching is being serialized with only 1 CGI being launched at a time. What could be the reason for this? Can anyone help me out on this one?
    Thanks in advance.
    Varun Goswami

You can try adding the following directive to your config\magnus.conf configuration file:
    KernelThreads 1
This directive instructs the web server to use native (kernel) threads to service requests.

  • Real World Max Simultaneous requests

Sun recommends this performance-tuning variable beset between 100 and 500.
To me that seems outdated. For a given hardware configuration what are people using for this value?
Im looking at single processor with 2GB memory.

The maximum number of simultaneous requests is specified by the magnus.conf RqThrottle directive.
The ideal value for RqThrottle is determined more by the type of content served than by the hardware the web server runs on. If requests can be serviced quickly, you should use a lower number. If it takes a long time to service requests, you should use a higher number.
For example, if your web server just serves small GIF images, an RqThrottle value of 16 might yield the best performance. However, if your server executes complex database queries or streams movie files, an RqThrottle value of 1024 might be more appropriate.

  • Maximum number of wired guest clients ??

Does anybody knows which is the maximum number of simultaneous wired guest clients on a 5508? And in a 2112 controller?
Wired clients count as wireless clients??
What about anchoring limitations, what is the effect of wired guest clients on the anchor controller?

2100 series WLC do not support Wired Guest Access.. 5500 wlc supports.. and i guess 5508 WLC can support max 150 simultaneous logins..

  • HBO GO - Exceeded number of simultaneous video streams...

    hi,
i'm unable to view any HBO go videos while logged in on my laptop, using any of the regular browsers FF/IE/Chrome as I constantly get this message once i hit play "You have exceeded the maximum number of simultaneous video streams for your household." i do not have any other streams running. i was able to play the videos using the "playon" browser on the laptop but that's no really any use.
any ideas on how to make this message go away and allow me to view the videos on my regular browsers (deleting cookies/clearing cache etc. didnt make any difference.)
    thanks.

The subject hints to "simultaneous" streams... I've installed the HBOGo app on several devices and never had a problem, however I do not believe I've ever tried to use it on more than 1 device at a time.
I do not know their simultaneous limit.
