Ideal Center B 310

Just purchased the Ideal Center B310 and love it.  However, it comes with a remote control for Windows Media Center and what looks like a sensor for the remote, but I can't find a socket to plug the sensor into.  Can anybody help?

I had the same issue with the black and white thing and the wire, rung Lenovo and they didn't know what it was? I worked it out myself in the end. What do you think of the computer in general? I have only had mine a week...so it is very early days. So far I have mixed feeling about it. It looks good, the TV works well, the mouse and key board sometimes play up, and it is not as fast as I had hoped. I tried to record a film, it worked fine, but on play back the images kept messing up. Not sure if this is due to the computer... was happy it had built in freeview though. I haven't used Windows 7 before, so this is taking a bit of getting used to. Not as seemless as a Mac, but half the price.

  • How do I download the solution center to my HP Touchsmart 310 pc

I have a HP Touchsmart 310 PC with the Windows 7 operating system.  Back in January I started having trouble logging in on my page.  I was the only admin on the pc, so I could not access certain information or make any changes to the computer.  I finally erased everything in the computer memory and started over from scratch.  I have an HP Photosmart printer that I use, but when I re-installed the software, it did not include the hp solution center, so I can't scan any documents or photos to my pc.  I need help!

    Hi,
Please let us know what is your printer, hope we can help.

  • Windows XP Media Center Edition FAQ

What is a Media Center PC?
It is basically a regular PC, but designed to fit into your home entertainment system to replace your DVD player, Hi-Fi, TV set-top box, as well as allowing other functions as email, web browsing and more, all from the comfort of your armchair, or elsewhere
Many new Media Center PCs (MCPCs or Home Theatre PCs - HTPCs) are styled like hi-fi components to blend in under your TV, while many are regular PCs with extra multimedia functions.
What is Windows XP Media Center Edition?
Windows XP Media Center Edition (or XP MCE for short) is basically Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) without advanced networking support (but including Remote Desktop Connection) and extra applications to turn your PC into a fully fledged Home Theatre PC (HTPC). The main Microsoft Media Center appplication allows a full screen interface suitable for viewing on TVs (pictured below left) and controlled by an easy to use Microsoft remote control device (below right), so you can watch and record TV, view DVDs and listen to audio CDs and digital music files.
How do I get WinXP MCE?
At the time of writing, XP MCE is only available as an OEM pack which you can purchase from your nearest dealer or online reseller, or if pre-installed on a purchased system. MCE is currently only available as a 32bit (x86) version, but works on 64bit systems.
The Media Center application is also included with the Home Premium and Ultimate editions of Windows Vista.
How do I install WinXP MCE?
MCE installs the same way as any other version of Windows XP. However it cannot be installed as an upgrade, you must do a clean install. MCE comes on two disks; a WinXP XP SP2 disc, and the MCE extras disc. Boot from CD1 as you would normally when installing Windows. The setup screens will indicate Windows XP Professional, this is normal. During the graphic part of the install process, you will be prompted to insert CD2. This is obviously the second CD of the set which you should insert, as it contains the necessary extra Media Center enhancements. When it is done, Setup will ask you for the "Windows XP SP2 CD". It is actually just asking for the first disc again, so reinsert it and let it continue.
When install is complete, the system will reboot, and you will see the normal Windows XP desktop, though with a slightly different theme. To begin using the Media Center program straight away, click on Media Center in the Start Menu to begin the Media Center Setup wizard.
What graphics hardware is required for MCE to work correctly?
MCE works with DirectX 9.0c, so ideally your hardware at a minimum needs to be DirectX 9.0 compatible.
MCE requires a minimum of 64mb video RAM (shared or dedicated), 128mb recommended for the full visual "eye-candy" interface effects.
For Nvidia GPU chipsets, MCE drivers can be found here: nVidia Drivers. You'll need at least a Geforce FX5200 for MCE to work (however I have it running on an integrated Geforce 4 MX with no problems).
For ATI GPU chipsets, drivers for MCE can be found here: ATi Drivers. You'll need at least a 9250 for MCE to work, but I understand that the 9200 may also suffice.
Unfortunately, I understand that SiS and Via (S3) chipsets (as found on many mobos with integrated VGA) are NOT MCE compatible. Some Intel integrated VGA chipsets will work now, you should refer to Intel's website for updated drivers. I also understand that Via have introduced MCE compatible drivers for their Epia SP13000 ITX board, again refer to Via's website for correct drivers. However, it is recommended to use an add-in VGA card for best results, unless you have a new board which has integrated Geforce 6100 or ATI Xpress chipsets
What TV hardware works with MCE?
In order to display TV output, MCE requires an MPEG2 stream to display. It cannot encode this itself, so requires a hardware based TV tuner / capture card, such as the Hauppage PVR MCE series, or the MSI Theater 550PRO (above left). The card receives analog video through the aerial connection, or svideo / composite inputs, encodes it into MPEG2 format, which MCE can display.
This type of analog card is required to connect a cable or satellite box (eg Telewest, NTL or Sky in UK). Using the Microsoft remote receiver, two supplied IR blasters affix to the set-top box, so MCE can automatically change channels when needed.
For best picture quality on digital TV though, you can use a software-based DVB-T card, such as the Hauppauge Nova-T or the Black Gold DVB-T (above right). Using a regular aerial, these receive high quality digital terrestrial (OTA) signals (eg the Freeview service in UK), which are broadcast in MPEG2 format, and therefore no encoding is required. In the USA, ATSC is the digital terrestrial standard used, as DVB is not available there.
Unfortunately UK users of DVB-T cards will currently not be able to make use of DVB subtitles, interactive text-based services such as Teletext and BBCi, or listen to the Digital Radio services available on Freeview. UK DVB Digital Audio services are now available with MCE Rollup 2.
Unlike with VGA cards, MCE requires that your TV hardware has special BDA (Broadcast Driver Architecture) drivers which are MCE compatible. Check your hardware manufacturers website for compatible drivers.
Unfortunately, analogue TV hardware that is software-driven (such as MSI TV@nywhere and Vox) won't work in MCE.
Windows Vista Media Center will introduce support for cable (DVB-C) and satellite (DVB-S)tuner cards
Do I need any other software to make MCE work?
As MCE is essentially based around Windows Media Player 10, you will be aware that WMP cannot play DVDs until you install a suitable DVD codec. This is also the case with MCE, as until you install this MPEG2 codec, MCE won't play ANY video (including TV). So you will also need to purchase additional MCE compatible DVD player software, such as Cyberlink PowerDVD 6, Intervideo WinDVD 6, or Nvidia's DVD Decoder MPEG codec. Results can be varied using different codecs, so it is best to try a trial version of such software to see which gives you the best results before purchasing. You may find that suitable DVD software may already be supplied with some VGA or TV tuner cards.
    Anything else I need?
You will also require an internet connection (not imperative, but certainly very useful) in order for MCE to access the internet in order to find and download TV guide listings, and album and artist information when playing CDs, MP3s and WMAs.
Without guide information, you will have to manually schedule TV recordings, and no programme information will be available.
If you are planning on having your Media Center in your living room, the Microsoft Remote Controller will allow you to control all aspects of the MCE interface without the need for a keyboard or mouse connected.
If you are connecting your Media Center to your TV, then your video display device will need TV-out capabilities (S-Video or Composite). S-Video offers better picture quality over composite video, but you will need to ensure your TV supports S-Video input, otherwise you will just see black and white video.
If your TV supports RGB inputs, then you may be able to obtain a VGA > RGB adaptor, which offers even better picture quality (search with Google, there are lots of sites about this). Many modern LCD and plasma TVs also support direct VGA / DVI inputs. VGA > RGB/SCART is only compatible with ATI Radeon VGA cards.
Can I watch one channel while recording another?
Yes, but you will need two identical TV devices, eg 2x DVB-T cards. You cannot have one analogue card, and one digital, as MCE presumes both hardware devices receive same channels, and can pick and choose between them. (However in the USA, you may have two analogue tuners, and one HDTV tuner)
This is straightforward when using two identical DVB-T cards. MCE has a channel list and guide data, so for example you are watching BBC1 on one tuner, MCE uses the other tuner to record the other programme on ITV2. Both cards are receiving the same input.
It gets a little more complicated if you want to do the same with a paid subscription service, such as NTL Cable or Sky Satellite in UK. As well as having two matching tuners (although I understand that some companies, including Hauppage, are releasing "dual-tuner" cards) you will also require two set-top boxes, with a subscription for each, as MCE needs to be able to change the channel on each set-top box seperately.

For some reason when using the "certified" MCE version of the Forceware drivers, after a short while all the buttons in the menus become "corrupted"
The simple solution: use regular XP/2000 version of Forceware drivers. They still work perfectly in MCE2005, and the graphical corruption doesn't appear.

  • PO reporting that can capture PO number, PO value and cost center

    Dear SAP expert and gurus,
Would like to seek for your professional advise and consult on which report in MM that can capture the PO number, PO value and cost center.
    Kindly advise.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Leonard Tan

ME80FN is a good report that captured the PO number and amount. However, the cost center is not being captured here. is there any suggestion?
ME2K is not an ideal report to user cause, user requires the data to be shown in one line instead of 2 to 3 line.
Is there any report like ME80FN can be captured PO number, PO value and Cost Center.
    Thank you

  • Open field for cost center on the material master

We have a unique requirement in a facility we intend to implement plant maintenance in to track a cost center to a material by including the cost center on the material master somewhere.  Cost center is not a field on any of the material tabs we use for maintenance materials, but the requirement is just that it is tracked in a field, even if it's just an open field like a "user defined field" or another field not used often.  We realize there are disadvantages such as the field not being checked against active cost centers, but we are looking at options short of adding cost center as a field manually to a tab (which I believe would require ABAP assistance).  I don't think there are any other fields/tabs we are currently not utilizing but I could be wrong... The best option we can think of is adding it in a material characteristic so it shows on the classifications tab, but I thought I would see if anyone has any other ideas.
    Thanks

Not sure what is the need of cost center on material master when you want to implement Plant maintenance module. Do you have any specific requirement for this?
Ideally cost center will be derived from either functional location/ equipment (equivalent of material master) on to PM work order or notification.
    Can you elaborate the requirement?
After all if you wish to go with cost center, then I suggest it should be at plant level as PM requires plant level distribution. You can add up a custom field and give the reference of cost center data element with help of developer.

  • Need advice on on a Mac Pro 1,1 Media Center

I currently have a 2009 Mac Mini running as my home media center, but I recently came by a FREE Mac Pro 1,1 and have decided to repurpose it as my media center so I can migrate my Mac Mini to my bedroom TV where it will live an easy life doing nothing but run Plex Home Theater, Netflix, and EyeTV. This machine falling into my lap was also quite timely because my 4-bay Drobo is running low on available expansion and another Drobo isn't in the budget at the moment.
This vintage mac pro is running Lion 10.7.5, has 1 old and crusty 500GB hardrive, dual x5160 processors, 4GB RAM (one stick i'm pretty sure is toast judging by the red light and the kernel panics), and the standard NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB graphics card. It will be used primarily for the following: network storage for iphoto and itunes libraries, streaming video, Plex Media Server & Plex Home Theater, and Handbrake encoding. I also have a goal of safety of data for my movies, photos and music as this machine will supplement my current Drobo storage.
My plans are for a 128GB SSD boot drive installed in one of the PCIe slots and then to load up all 4 of the 3.5" drive bays with WD Green hard drives. I have also ordered 4GB of replacement RAM, so upon removal of the faulty unit I will have 7GB.
Here is where I need advice because I am not very familiar with RAID and the differences between hardware or software raid. Am I better off getting four drives of the same size and setting them up as RAID 5 (I think) using Apple's RAID utility or should I throw in three 1TB drives and then install a fourth 3TB or 4TB drive as a Time Machine backup for the other three?
Should I upgrade the OSX to the technically unsupported latest version? Or is it not worth the trouble for this application?
Also, is there any benefit to upgrading the graphics card to the ATI Radeon 5770? Would this yield an improved image quality? I am outputting to a Denon AV Reciever and subsequently to a 100" projection screen, if that makes a difference. I also noticed the 5770 has an HDMI port, wich would be nice, but not necessary since I can use a DVI converter and woud still need to use the optical audio out anyway.
    Much obliged for any input

My plans are for a 128GB SSD boot drive installed in one of the PCIe slots and then to load up all 4 of the 3.5" drive bays with WD Green hard drives. I have also ordered 4GB of replacement RAM, so upon removal of the faulty unit I will have 7GB.
PCIe cards that use or support SSD are not bootable until you get to 2008 (and that is limited too).
Green are not suited for any form of array unless say NAS and WD RED.  Better option would be 3 x 2TB WD Blacks in a mirror, and too many people only use two drives, well 3 is much easier safer and works better. Might want to invest in www.SoftRAID.com product even.
Best price and quality, got my 1,1 with 8 x 2GB (ideal is 4 or 8 DIMMs)
    2x2GB FBDIMM DDR2 667MHz @ $25
    http://www.amazon.com/BUFFERED-PC2-5300-FB-DIMM-APPLE-Memory/dp/B002ORUUAC/
With price of 250GB SSD $155 I'd go with that or stick with $89 for 128GB .

  • Profit center report picks production variance posting from prev periods

(This is a repost, from a ill-chosen forum)
    Guys I am lost
I am running S_ALR_87013340 : profit center Plan Actual comparison report, on a group of profit centers: the total I got is different from the sum of the individual profit centers in the group: the difference being on my production variance account, and a sales posting that relates to the prior period
I had the same issue last month, with the discrep. only being my production variance account.
but I was expecting something of the sort: it was the first time we closed orders, and SAP closed all orders since the implementation, years earlier
    What could cause this?
    Thanks for your time, again
    KR - Loï

    Hi
The Production Variance account is usually not created as a Cost element.. Hence, the PC from the Mat Master is derived into this Line item.... Ideally, the PC from mat master gets copied into the Prod order also... If you change the PC in mat master later on, you can see a mismatch
Whats the situation in your case? The Prod Var account has PC or not or which PC does it have?

  • Profit Center Derivation in GR and Invoice documetns form MM component

    Hi All,
My clien wants to set a profit center(B/S)999999 for only GR/IR clearing account (not on expense line item) on Goods receipt and invoice documents. At present it is getting derived from cost object assgined to the purchase order.
I tried using substituion(GGB1) and able to replace the profit center on GR/IR clearing account line item in Goods Receipt.
But after doing MIRO, the FI document shows the profit center assigned to the cost object in PO instead of the assigned profit center in substitution rule.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance!!!!!
    Kumar

    Hi
Ideally you should not use Substitution Rule for posting to a fixed profit center for MIGO and MIRO Documents. Logically this is not correct. However, if you still want to check if you have maintained profit center as a substitutable field in VWTYGB01. This has to be set to 15 for substitution at complete document level. Further you need to use a BADI to have the same populated. It woul dnot be populated with a simple Substitution rule for MM generated documents

  • Office 2013 Upload Center do not display in notification area

    Hello,
I am wanting to hide the Upload centre system task tray icon for Office 2013 on all of our pc's in my organisation, I have found many articles on disabling the service from starting, but this is not my intention.
Instead I wish to use either a registry setting (that I'll set in either the OCT or GPP), an option in the 2013 OCT tool or a setting in the Office 2013 group policy templates to just untick the box that says "Display icon in notification area"
which will still allow the Upload Center to work and be launched from the start menu but will free up Task Tray real estate.
If anyone knows what registry setting will do this that would be great, ideally a machine based setting so I can include it with the OCT, however if it is a user setting I will use Group Policy Preferences to deploy it.

    Hi,
I captured the registry key by ProcessMonitor, you can test if this works for you:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\FileIO
    Value:DisableNotificationIcon
If the value is set to 1, the icon is not displayed; if the value is set to 0, the icon is displayed.

  • Accounts Verification Center Nightmare. Service Suspended. No Explanation. HELP.

Yesterday, 9/26, at around 12pm I was trying to access my account to pay my Verizon bill for my internet and TV service. Through multiple attempts I was getting the prompt that my account could not be accessed and so I called technical support and was handed off to the Accounts Verification Center. While on the phone with them, they realized that my account was put on hold and asked that my wife, who is the primary account name, fax in her Social Security card, her Drivers License and a proof of address. Confused as to why they would need all of this personal information, I asked what was wrong with the account, and this is when things became increasingly unprofessional…
They told me first that this was part of a random audit which takes place within their offices. Confused, I asked what the red flags could possibly have been to put our account under suspicion. I was given no clear answer and told again that they needed our personal information. I said we would send it but my wife was at work and so I needed to wait to get in touch with her. In the meantime, I asked if we would still have our services while we got the documents together and ready to send. I needed to be able to work, and we need our internet over the weekend, and all of this was taking place on a Friday afternoon. I was told by this woman, who never gave her name, that we had a couple weeks to get them this information and that our service would not be interrupted. I then asked if there would be late fees on the bill I was trying to pay since it was due that day, and she told me they would transfer me to customer service and that, though they were able to put a hold on the account they could not put a hold on the bill date.
After that transfer I tried to access the internet and realized that, contrary to what I had been told, all of my services had been turned off. Everything prompted me with a restore message, but told me I could not access the restore because my account was on hold. I called the Accounts Verification Center back and spoke to a different woman. She told me that my services, while not terminated were suspended. When I reiterated that I had been assured my service would continue the lady told me simply that it had been “a miscommunication”.
The woman refused to speak to me further about the account because I was not my wife. She said I was not authorized on the account and there was no way to verify that my wife and I were married. No matter what I said, I was told I could not get any further information and that my wife needed to make all the calls. Frustrated, I contacted my wife who left work early so that we could handle this situation before we lost service for the entire weekend.<BR /><BR />After coming home from work she called again. When she asked how to authorize me on the account she was told that no further documentation was required and that it was standard practice to allow spouses to make changes to the account. I can only assume that this “standard practice” does not apply to same-sex couples as I was repeatedly told they would not discuss the matter with me without further proof.
At this time it was around 4pm and we were still not being told why this was happening or what the actual issue was with our account. When my wife asked if the account had been flagged as potentially fraudulent (something that had be insinuated to me) she was assured that this was not the case but that there were multiple accounts coming in under our name. This was new information and seemed reasonable as we had had difficulty initially with the account setup getting hung up on processing a month back.
So we packed everything up and drove to the nearest Verizon store to be able to fax the documents. The employees there seemed confused about the situation but let us use their facility to fax out information. While in the store, we called the AVC to make sure everything went through, as we had been instructed. We were told that everything had gone through but the proof of address would not work, first because it was not notarized, and then because it did not specifically state that it was for the month of September. We asked what type of documentation they would need, since we do not get paper utility bills outside of the bill they had sent us which we were told was not valid. They told us we would need to print out a bill from one of the websites. We pointed out that we had no internet access and would not be able to do that and were merely offered the guidance of “Yeah, it’s hard because more records are electronic these days.”
The manager of the Verizon store we were in suggested we figure out how to get it online, email it to her, and she would print it. She seemed astonished at how unprofessional and irregular this entire situation was. So, we sent more of our personal information to a woman who, while kind and exceptionally helpful was not someone we knew or would ideally have trusted to handle tons of personally identifiable information. She printed it and we sent it.
After receiving the copy of the driver’s license my wife was told that it was expired (it was not) and thus invalid as a proof of address. After confirming that the license was in fact NOT expired my wife was asked to read back the driver’s license number. The number was a match, however the last 3 digits on the license were partially faded by the holographic seal on the document (faded… but hardly illegible). We were told the document could not be used to verify unless the entire image was displayed in better fidelity. After faxing the document 3 more additional times using various brightness settings, the woman suggested that we take a cellphone picture of the driver’s license, print it out and send that.
We took a high-resolution image of the driver’s license, printed it out on a full 8.5/11 sheet of paper (more than 800% the size of the original document) so there could be absolutely no question as to the clarity and fidelity of the image and faxed the image over.
While waiting for this latest fax to go through, my wife was informed by the woman on the phone that, although the center was open for an additional 2 hours, she was leaving the office early. She said she would “leave detailed notes” for whoever handled our case next. The fact that I had been talking to her since noon and that this issue was not resolved was an incredibly huge problem. It was her job to help us fix it and she should not have suggested that she was too busy or that she needed to hang up the phone and call us back at her convenience. We needed to get their approval and the hold off by the time the office closed. In the most unprofessional manner, she hung up the phone on us and left us to call in again to get a different agent.
It was now around 5:40pm. The last copy of the DL had come in and we were told by a new agent that the photo of the driver’s license had been taken at a slight angle and would have to be retaken. My wife stated that we at this point had sent them 5 copies of the drivers license over the past 2 hours and could they seriously not verify the document based on the collection of documents now in their possession? My wife was put on hold without warning midway through her sentence and when the agent came back a few minutes later we were told that “a team of experts were inspecting the documents.” Furthermore we were told that we were the first customers using the iPhone 6 fax feature and this new and untested technology was causing their “team of experts” difficulty. Having been tagged in to take over the phone again at this point (11 hour customer service traumas are best taken in shifts), I told him we were in an official Verizon store using their store issued fax machine and had no idea what he was talking about. He paused and said he was just going off of what was said to him and that he could not provide a timeframe for when his crack team of photocopy analyzers would be finished.
I said that we needed a time frame because they were the ones who would be leaving the office and leaving us with no options. The employee on the other end put the phone down. I could hear them talking but could not make out the words. When he returned he specifically said the hold would be taken off of the account and our services should be returned within two hours. I asked what the conclusion had been and if, now that it had been resolved, could they inform us of why this had all occurred so we could avoid it in the future. He said that the reason for our stop in service was “unclear at this time’. I said that was unacceptable because my wife and I had both missed out on work while dealing with this issue and it had severely inconvenienced us so there must have been a reason for shutting off the services. Instead of answering the question the agent bizarrely defaulted to the Verizon script, thanking us for being customers and asking if we had more questions. I said he hadn’t answered the previous question yet and he just repeated ‘Thank you for calling. Do you have any other questions?” I then asked to speak to a supervisor because he was not giving me a response. I was told there was no manager in the office who I could contact but that I could leave a number so that someone could contact me on Monday morning. I asked for his name and he hit the hold music and then hung up the phone.
We were told our service would return two hours from 6pm. We went out to dinner and returned home at 11pm. When I tried to access my services we were still in a suspended state. I called Customer Service- Tech Support and spoke to a very kind and helpful representative. He tried to speak to everyone he possibly could to restore our services, but the AVC had never removed the hold as they had assured us they would. We spoke to a Billing Agent who informed me that his department had not turned off the service and had not flagged the account for any reason. He let me speak to his supervisor so I could talk to some form of management, but unfortunately he could do nothing because the AVC functions as a separate entity. He set it up so a manager would call to check up on the case on Monday and if it had not already been resolved, would call over with me and get the employees to act with more civility and so they would act more professionally.
The problem is that I need this issue resolved as quickly as possible. Not only because I need it for work, but because I have been repeatedly lied to by multiple people within the AVC office. I do not know why my wife and I are being put through this situation or what flagged our account. I don’t know why I was singled out as not being able to access the account, when we were later told spouses do not need to be authorized. I don’t know why I was refused names. I don’t know why I was hung up on or why my questions were ignored. I don’t know why they needed all of our ID or why they needed so many copies of them. I have just been harassed and I have been lied to for hours at a time. I know I have calls set up for Monday but I want my services set up as soon as possible so that my wife and I can continue to do our work and have everything resolved.
I would also like more information on what supervisors I can speak to in the Accounts Verification Center. I want to know why all of this happened and why we were treated so poorly by every representative we spoke to in that office.

  • How to share iPhoto library with Windows 7 Media Center?

Is there a way to share an iPhoto library over a local network with a Windows 7 Media Center PC? I have a Mac Pro that has my iPhoto library [about 9,500 pictures and about a hundred videos] which is about 70GB. I also have a Windows 7 PC connected to my plasma TV for media, most of which is drawn from a 5TB NAS. Ideally, I'd like a way for my Mac Pro to keep a copy of the photos and videos on the NAS [the original should stay on the Mac Pro] without requiring me to manually copy over the new photos.
My understanding is that iPhoto isn't designed to do any type of cross-platform sharing whatsoever, but hopefully I'm wrong. I would definitely appreciate any help; thank you!

Thanks for your input, Terence Devlin. At this point, I'm not even looking for a cross-platform media server application. I'm looking for (and wondering why iPhoto doesn't have) a way for us to use iPhoto in a way that it already functions.
What I mean by locking you in is that Apple is saying, if you do it our way, (iPhoto/iTunes/iPhone/iPod) you can get the functionality you want, but even within that ecosystem, it's inconsistent. Like I mentioned previously, syncing photos to your iPhone/iPod Touch through iTunes gets you all the photos organized by events. And clearly, iTunes/iPhoto is capable of reading the iPhoto database, and pulling out the photos and organizing them by events. Yet we can't do it from iPhoto itself. And that's not even getting into Apple saying Spotlight on the iPhone searches through everything...except photos...even though with iPhoto '09 they're encouraging us to tag faces and places...I just think it's odd/a shame that Apple is hiding existing functionality from its users.
At any rate, I will be giving that other application a try.
(p.s. you can't "aggregate out" something and get something smaller; aggregate as a verb means to gather together or sum up, and as a noun means the total or summation.)

  • How to embed applescript into a shell script for notification center

I have managed to cobble this together:
You can run it in your Terminal, it is harmless, and will output results that will show you a notification from notification center:
I have items on my pasteboard as the results of a script, I want to pbpaste them into the below command, but can't get the syntax right.  I am not objectionable to string concatenation and building or whatever it takes.
osascript -e 'display notification "The url(s) are on your clipboard from my.app" with title "my.app has finished" subtitle "Some Sub title"'
Ideally, I want to put `pbpaste` in the "Some title" section, but I get the literal string. I try creating a variable, and get that literal string.
I tried building the entire string up as one variable, which in the Terminal echo'd out and works, but in Notification Center, I get the actually literal variable.  It's mainly a bash script, so the context witch to AppleScript i being a pain in the rear.
Suggestions? Any master out there that this makes any sense to?

As it stands, and the way you have your notification structured, this is the output from the notification center. I did an echo "From the clipboard" | pbcopy before I ran the following script. It uses a Bash function, osascript HERE document, and shows how to pass variables to the function, and receive them in AppleScript. If you want substring text that is not the result of pbpaste, then you can either make the string inside the AppleScript, or pass the string in as a variable.
To get this output, I used the following Bash/Osascript combination:
    #!/bin/bash
#osascript -e 'display notification "The url(s) are on your clipboard from
#my.app" with title "my.app has finished" subtitle "Some Sub title"'
    function notification () {
      `osascript <<-AppleScript
set txt1 to "The URL(s) are on your clipboard from "
set txt2 to " has finished"
set appName to "$1" as text
set subStr to "$2" as text
set noteStr to txt1 & appName
set titleStr to appName & txt2
        tell application "System Events"
display notification noteStr with title titleStr subtitle subStr
delay 1 -- give notification time to fire
        end tell
        return quit
    AppleScript`
    appName="foo.app"
    #echo $appName
    subTitle="$(pbpaste)"
    #echo $subTitle
    notification "${appName}" "${subTitle}"
    exit 0

  • Error~ PR G/l Account & cost center is not appearing in PO while copying

    Dear All,
I am converting PR into PO, while creating PR I  have assigned account assignment cat as "K"(cost center ), so i assigned Cost center and G/L account , After this I tried to convert this into PO, but in PO again it is asking for G/L account & cost center  onemore time,Earlier it wasn't .
May be some where the setting got changed but I am unable to find where exactly this setting got changed.
Please anyone could help in this.
    Regards,
    Nagaraj S

    well thats really wiered
can u do one thing in your quality system create one PO and pleas but  make sure the data in the po sholud be same as that of PR but this PO will be created without the reference of PR
i want to check if system is able to find the G/L account automatically which ideally it should find
in case the g/l is not picked automatically then in that case check the valuation class in material master and the g/l which is maintained in gbb or not and make sure the g/l is a cost element
if the g/l comes automatically then check the PO document type settings in the those 2 folder at the left poriton of screen in IMG>>olme>>POdefine document type

  • Upgrade System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 CU6 -- 2012 RTM issues (Assembly related exception in log)

    Hi guys
I am currently performing a distributed, complex upgrade with a customer:
4 management servers (1 being RMS), both databases (OM & DW) on a single SQL Server (2008 R2 SP2)
We moved over the RMS role to another server and decomissioned the old one due to it being a 2003 server.
Then we upgraded all non-RMS management servers.
We had some issues with them as well (same error in the log), but when we reinstalled the 2007 R2 binaries & patches and redid the upgrade it came through fine.
The RMS however keeps throwing the same error. Things I tried:
    - Full clean of the server including momclean and msizap, then reinstall the RMS and retry the upgrade
    - Reregister of the msiexec server
I am suspecting some issues with assemblies and / or GAC, but no clear proof on that, only that it crashes after performing assembly operations.
Below an extract from the RemoveMOMServer.log (the error occurs when uninstalling SCOM 2007 R2)
Can anyone help out or give me some pointers on possible causes?
    Many thanks in advance!
