IDOC Creation using ABAP-PI port

Hi all,
I am new to ALE,EDI,IDOC technologies. We have a requirement that we want to create a matmas IDOC and send it thru ABAP-PI port by the function module attached to it. then from this function module I have to call the update methods of a proxy class with matmas data that will eventually update the material info. in the external webservice. How to replicate this scenario?
I want step by step process including ALE settings and configuration. Please do help me out friends.
Thanks and regards,

  • Manual price condition (%) in order creation (using ABAP)

    Dear community members,
I could use some help on a problem I have encountered while creating a sales order (in the CRM system) using ABAP programming, the details are given hereunder:
I have two manual price conditions used to set a possible discount, one using a straight value and one using a percentage:
    1. When the order is generated using the value (let us say 100€) it cointains the correct price condition.
    2. On the other hand, when the order is generated using percentages (i.e. 10%), it is created without explicit errors or warnings but with no price condition in it.
For the latter case I have checked the IPC logs (from transaction SM53) finding this error message:
Message: Condition cannot be processed manually
--> com.sap.spe.pricing.transactiondata.exc.ManualChangeNotAllowedException: Condition YSCP cannot be processed manually

I have already debugged FM CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN but to no avail, maybe I just missed something and I can assure that the customizing is correct and aligned between the systems and both the conditions are set to be processed manually.
At this point, since the condition is applied when the commit is yet to be done I wonder whether it is possible to apply a discount percentage on prices which are yet to be generated, it would be illogical to do so and then again while using a straight value (which does not require a calculation) the order is correctly generated.
Furthermore when I add the conditions in an order (from both the GUI and the WUI) the table IT_PRIDOC is alway empty, even if CT_INPUT_FIELD is populated.
I know that there are similar posts here in SCN but sadly I was not able to find a solution so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies given,
    Alessandro.

    Dear Padma,
apologies for my late reply. I also thought it should be possible to use a percentage but I was not sure.
Sadly the debugging did not bring about any positive result.
I also tried to make a second CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN call after the system generated all the pricing conditions but that also did not work.
There is one thing that caught my attention though:
    - YSCV (fixed amount): still no problem at all (passed to KBETR);
    - YSCP (percent): if I assign a value to KWERT or if I leave all the fields empty, the condition is created in the sales order but it is always set to 0%. However, if I try to assign it to KBETR, I always get the message: "Condition YSCP cannot be processed manually".
I made some attempts with the customizing, for example adding the condition to the "easy entries" or playing with the options of "Create Condition Types" (always aligning the systems) without getting positive output.
I am beginning to think that it could be an IPC-related problem (which is not my area of expertise... yet).
    Alessandro.

  • Webservice  to Idoc/File using ABAP mapping

    Hi Experts,
I need your expert advise on below scenario. The flow of the scenario is..
1)I will get a control record from a webservice(SOAP sender adpater), this initiates the process flow.
2)based on control record ,The ABAP mapping program will call a program(within the PI sys) to fetch the data from DB table.then the ABAP mapping program will have to create 2 messages for the target. One is IDoc and another one is File.
    Pls suggest the best approach.
    Regards,

    Hi Prateek,
    Thanks for quick reply.
there is a main program which has different classes and methoda to fetch the data from DB tables.I dont want to touch this main program.
what  i am going to do is, I will this main program from abap mapping by passing the control record information.based on this control record, the main program will fetch data for ABAP mapping. From ABAP mapping, i have to generate 2 messages, one for IDOc and another one is for File.
    Hope you got my requirement.

  • IDOC through Proxies ABAP-PI  ports

    HI,
Please suggest what are the pros and cons of sending IDOCS through proxies.
When should we design like this ?
    Thanks,
    Harsha

First of all why u want to send IDOC through proxy as SAP provided all std IDOCs and IDOC approach to send data to XI,only u have to configure the things in R3 as well as XI.
Cons will be u have to write the abap code for sending IDOCs and difficult to IDOC monitor.
Just have a look at the below blog:-

  • Sales Order IDOC creation using IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS

I am trying to create a Sales order IDOC (Inbound) from a flat file using the FM - IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS .
I am able to create the sales order. But I don't see the idoc getting generated anywhere.
I see the import parameter - DOCUMENT_NUMBER coming blank. Why is the IDOC not getting generated ?
Any tips will be useful ?
Can we create Inbound SAles Order IDOC using 'MASTER_DISTRIBUTE_IDOC'  FM ?
    THanks.

    Hi Shareen Hegde
    To create Inbound...idoc
Use the Function Module in you Program : IDOC_INBOUND_WRITE_TO_DB to create the Inbound idoc
Pass the Control record and Data record in FM.....
    Use Message type : Orders
IDoc type : Orders01 or 02 or 03 or 04 or 05 ....  which ever suite for your requirement....
    Process Code : ORDE
When ever your custom program for creating the inbound sales order with  runs .....
it call the internally FM IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS to create the Sales order...
    or
If you are getting the inbound idoc from subsystem .....then check you partner profile ,Message type ed and Process code is correct or not....
I hope this resolves your issuse..

  • ABAP-PI port problem

    Hi,
I have a scenario in which i have to generate a MBGMCR IDOC whenever a material document is posted ans send this to XI.
Now i have to put a condition to process only IDOCs that have  a particular vendor number must be sent out to XI and others have to stop inside the SAP system itself.
I saw that we could use ABAP-PI port to control the IDOC before being sent out. So i added the ABAP-PI port with a FM
ZOWN_FUNCTION which is a copy of OWN_FUNCTION with the following code added in the end.
    CALL FUNCTION 'IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS' DESTINATION 'XIDCLNT100'
      TABLES
        idoc_control_rec_40       = I_EDIDC
        idoc_data_rec_40          =  I_EDIDD
But when execute this is get an error,
"IDoc adapter inbound: Sender port is initial"
But i can see that the sender port value in the EDI_DC has a value 'SAPECD'.
I've not had much luck with resolving this error. I feel the error is misleading and the sender port is not really the problem, but im not sure.
Is the approach i'm using right or should i use some other function?
    Any suggestions?

    I resolved it myself.
    Its the same procedure.
Copy own_function to my fm ZOWN_FUCTION. Call the FM IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS in destination XI.
I just found that when i call the FM the import parameters are of type EDI_DC40 and EDI_DD40 whereas the type im passing to it is EDIDC and EDIDD. thats why the mismatch.

    Hi,

  • Sales Order Creation using LSMW IDOC method.. ( Custome Interface)

    Hi ABAP'rs,
Please provide me LSMW steps for creating Sales Order using IDOC method.
                            Thanks and Regards,
                                                  Param.

    LSMW-IDOC in General
LSMW – Step by Step Guide: Legacy System Migration Workbench is an R/3 Based tool for data transfer from legacy to R/3 for one time or periodic transfer.
Basic technique is Import data from Spreadsheet / Sequential file, convert from source format to target format and import into R/3 database. LSMW not part of standard R/3, if we need this product email [email protected]
    Advantages of LSMW:
    • Most of the functions are within R/3, hence platform independence.
    • Quality and data consistency due to standard import techniques.
    • Data mapping and conversion rules are reusable across projects.
    • A variety of technical possibilities of data conversion.
    • Generation of the conversion program on the basis of defined rules
    • Interface for data in spreadsheet format.
    • Creation of data migration objects on the basis of recorded transactions.
    • Charge-free for SAP customers and partners.
    Working With LSMW:
    Use TCODE LSMW
    Objects of LSMW:
•Project – ID with max of 10 char to Name the data transfer project.
    • Subproject – Used as further structuring attribute.
    • Object – ID with max of 10 Characters, to name the Business object .
    • Project can have multiple sub projects and subprojects can have multiple objects.
    • Project documentation displays any documentation maintained for individual pop ups and processing steps
User Guide: Clicking on Enter leads to interactive user guide which displays the Project name, sub project name and object to be created.
    Object type and import techniques:
    • Standard Batch / Direct input.
    • Batch Input Recording
o If no standard programs available
o To reduce number of target fields.
o Only for fixed screen sequence.
    • BAPI
    • IDOC
o Settings and preparations needed for each project
    Preparations for IDOC inbound processing:
    • Choose settings -> IDOC inbound processing in LSMW
    • Set up File port for file transfer, create port using WE21.
    • Additionally set up RFC port for submitting data packages directly to function module IDoc_Inbound_Asynchronous, without creating a file during data conversion.
    • Setup partner type (SAP recommended ‘US’) using WE44.
    • Maintain partner number using WE20.
    • Activate IDOC inbound processing.
    • Verify workflow customizing.
    Steps in creating LSMW Project:
    • Maintain attributes – choose the import method.
    • Maintain source structure/s with or without hierarchical relations. (Header, Detail)
    • Maintain source fields for the source structures. Possible field types – C,N,X, date, amount and packed filed with decimal places.
    • Fields can be maintained individually or in table form or copy from other sources using upload from a text file
    • Maintain relationship between source and target structures.
    • Maintain Field mapping and conversion rules
    • For each Target field the following information is displayed:
    o Field description
o Assigned source fields (if any)
o Rule type (fixed value, translation etc.)
    o Coding.
o Some fields are preset by the system & are marked with Default setting.
    • Maintain Fixed values, translations, user defined routines – Here reusable rules can be processed like assigning fixed values, translation definition etc.
    • Specify Files
o Legacy data location on PC / application server
o File for read data ( extension .lsm.read)
o File for converted data (extension .lsm.conv)
    • Assign Files – to defined source structures
    • Read data – Can process all the data or part of data by specifying from / to transaction numbers.
    • Display read data – To verify the input data being read
Convert Data – Data conversion happens here, if data conversion program is not up to date, it gets regenerated automatically.
    • Display converted data – To verify the converted data
Import Data – Based on the object type selected
    • Standard Batch input or Recording
    o Generate Batch input session
    o Run Batch input session
    • Standard Direct input session
o Direct input program or direct input transaction is called
    BAPI / IDOC Technique:
    • IDOC creation
o Information packages from the converted data are stored on R/3 Database.
o system assigns a number to every IDOC.
o The file of converted data is deleted.
    • IDOC processing
o IDOCS created are posted to the corresponding application program.
o Application program checks data and posts in the application database.
    Finally Transport LSMW Projects:
    • R/3 Transport system
    o Extras ->Create change request
o Change request can be exported/imported using CTS
    • Export Project
o Select / Deselect part / entire project & export to another R/3 system
    • Import Project
o Exported mapping / rules can be imported through PC file
o Existing Project data gets overwritten
    o Prevent overwriting by using
    ‘Import under different name
    • Presetting for Inbound IDOC processing not transportable.
    Reward if useful.

  • IDOC with ABAP - PI Port , RFC Function module

    Hi ,
I am creating outbound Idoc in one system,  In the same  system I am using a ABAP - PI port and assigned a RFC function module.
So when ever the outbound IDOC is created it will go to the port and triggers the RFC function module.
now my question is how to get the outbound IDOC number in the RFC function module.
I thought of reading the table EDIDC with message type, but all previous IDOC's aslo coming .
    Regards
    Bhaskar

Hi Bhaskar, the IDOC control record or records are transfered to your function module in table paramater I_EDIDC. You could read the IDOC data by calling function modules EDI_DOCUMENT_OPEN_FOR_PROCESS and EDI_SEGMENTS_GET_ALL for each control record.

  • Using ABAP Web Service tor convert IDoc to XML and transfer to SOAP Server

    Hi all,
I have a problem to use ABAP Web Service to convert IDoc's to XML and then send them to a SOAP Server.
Currently we have the following landscape:
    SAP->XI->Archive
The sap-system (ECC6.0) sends an IDoc to the Exchange Infrastructe. The XI maps the IDoc and converts it to the required XML format, used by the archive. Afterwards, the XML documents are sended to the SOAP Server.
So I'm trying to replace the Exchange Infrastructure with ABAP Web Service.
I've read a lot of posts and documents reagarding ABAP Web Serivce, converting IDoc's to XML, RFC and so on, but I'm not able to do the replacement.
I don't know how to start and which steps are required.
The required roles and authorizations at the sap-system and the service for soamanager and the Web Service Viewer are available.
First I thought to create the RFC and partner profiles and then the report to convert IDoc to XML as a BAPI. With this BAPI I supposed to create and define a Web Service. The problem is, I don't know how to trigger the report if the Idoc should be send to the archive.
Hopefully, someone has an idea or a how-to for me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Christoph
Edited by: BigTicket on May 12, 2010 9:36 AM

    Hi BigTicket.
A suggestion to trigger the BAPI / WebService at the IDoc receiving is to use a user exit or enhanced inside the idoc function module. When the idoc arrived to the idoc port the system start the related function module and then your user exit/enhanced in which you invoke your BAPI.
    I hope this help.
    Ciao.

  • IDOC ABAP-PI Port Function Module not called

    HI all,
i am using a scenario where i am sending (outbound) idocs via abap proxy to PI.
I have assigned the function module to the abap-pi port.
when i am trying to send a test idoc via we19, i get the message "IDoc '0000000000198029' transferred to ABAP-PSS port".
but the function module (a copy of own_function)  doesn't get called. if i am testing the function module from se80 with the above mentioned idoc number '0000000000198029' everything is fine.
in the partner profile i have added the corresponding idoc message type and selected to send idocs immediately. have i forgotten something in order to trigger the call of the function module ?
    br,
    martin

    Hello,
I think it is not so easy to send IDoc to XI with ABAP-PSS-Port.
I would try to create the IDoc and send it to XI-Port (Transactional RFC).
This is SAP-Standard for IDoc-Scenario (SAP-R3 to XI).

  • Wheh to use abap proxy and when to use idoc

    Hi All,
Please provide some clarifications for the below points :
    What is Sproxy?
    2.     Why we are using Sproxy instead of Idocs
    3.   When we are going Proxy ?
    4.   What are the types of proxy ?
    5.   How to Create to Proxy ?
    6.   What the Difference between SProxy  and Idocs
       7.   What is SOAP file? When we are using SOAP file ?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Bharat

    Hi Bharat,
You seem to have a range of Questions. I will try and answer as many as possible.
    What is Sproxy?
SPROXY is a transaction [T-Code] on the SAP ECC/CRM etc side where you can see the objects designed in SAP PI ESR and develop its corresponding ABAP code. SPROXY T-Code displays the Service Interface. You can read more about it in the following site:
    **************** - XI - ABAP Proxy communication
      2.     Why we are using Sproxy instead of Idocs
For Certain implementations Standard IDocs may not be available and it is quite tedious to create a Z- IDoC and therefore it is advantageous to use Proxy. You can read more about this doubt in the following links:
Choosing to use IDOC standard or ABAP Proxy?
    IDOC vs Proxy
    ABAP Proxy Vs IDOC
    3. When we are going Proxy ?
When there are no Standard IDocs available. Please refer above links to get an answer for this.
    4.   What are the types of proxy ?
    5.   How to Create to Proxy ?
Again the following link has the answers for both these questions:
    **************** - XI - ABAP Proxy communication
    6.   What the Difference between SProxy  and Idocs
Difference is in the way the communication happens. Standard Idocs are already provided and you can use them directly while Proxy you will require to write the code on ECC side. You can refer the following link to understand more:
Advantage of ABAP proxy over BAPI
    7. What is SOAP file? When we are using SOAP file ?
I have not heard of anything called SOAP file. SOAP is a protocol used for communication and you can send files as attachment in your SOAP to Any(file/idoc/Soap etc) or vice Versa Interfaces. Infact Proxy itself is SOAP based communication with XI 3.0 Protocol.
Please explore SCN to know more about the various scenarios. There are endless possibilities in SAP PI.
    Hope this Helps.
    Thanks &  Regards,
    Tejas Bisen
