IDOC field segments

Hi all,
I am doing a EDI 850 to ORDERS03 IDOC mapping. I imported the structure of ORDERS03 IDOC from SAP into our third party mapping translator. Its has the fields
E2EDK01005 instead of E1EDK01
E2EDK14 instead of E1EDK14
E2EDK03 instaed of E1EDK03. I exceuted the mapping and i see the IDOC getting created in SAP with E1EDK01 and so on....
I went through the forums and came to know that 1 means outbound, 2 means inbound and the E2EDK01...are the definitions are as per the 45B release...
But i am still not clear why there happens to be a difference in the IDOC segment name that has been imported into the translatorVS the IDOC that is getting created in SAP. Should i assume that E2EDK01005 is the equivalent of E1EDK01 etc....
can some one help me undertsnad this segment name mismatch??

When creating IDocs in the R/3 system using transaction WE30, three structures are created and numbered automatically for each IDoc segment. For example: Delivery header has E1TPDLH, E2TPDLH and E3TPDLH. E1 TPDLH is release-independent, E2TPDLH is release-dependent and E3 TPDLH is used for documentation. When segment names are transferred, you must specify the E2 segment names in order to be working independently of SAP release. That's the reason you see it differently.

Value for IDoc Segment field SEGMENT

Hello,
In the Integration Repository, while creating Message Mapping between a flat file (inbound) & an IDoc (outbound), I'm getting an error that not all target fields are mapped. In the target structure (IDoc), each segment has a field named SEGMENT. Can someone please tell me what value should go here. These are not part of the IDoc but seem to be a requirement in XI message mapping.
There is also a segment called BEGIN (Type - xsd:string) which is defined as required. Please write as to what should be populated in this segment.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. For an instance following is the structure, in this case how can I achieve getting a set of data in one IDOC and another set in other IDOC based on document no.

i). Is there any way to create instances of idocs in XI or any alternative way out.

There are two filtering in IDoc.
Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using T/Code BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Prrtner / Receiver Partner.
Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in dustribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant , only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

Hi Jayakumar,
I think this is the same old question on how to find out in what tables a field may be used.
Segments are DDIC structures. A where-used-list on the data element of the field (eventually with some restrictions on the resulting objects name) should show the segments where is is used. The you can check table EDISEG recursively.

To Handle Special Characters(Guideu0099 ) in MATMAS IDOC fields

Need to handle special characters like Guide, as an attached superscript in MATMAS02/05 IDOC field . The field name is TDLINE in E1MTXLM segment.
As a trial run when these special characters are pasted in the TDLINE field, it throws an error that "the input field contains prohibited characters"
Please let me know if there is any workaround for this.

I have extended the the standard IDOC MATMAS05 classification view with structure as below-

     E1MAKTM                        Master material short texts (MAKT) --->Mandatory segment(Child   to
E1MARAM )
I am getting an error in IDOC fro material master as:EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (mandatory segment missing ).
Diagnosys By system is :*The segment E1MAKTM has the attribute 'Mandatory' in the syntax description of the basic type MATMAS05 (customer enhancement ZMATMAS05). However, the segment is missing in the IDoc. The segment number logged in the status record identifies the item before which the segment is missing.
This error may have been triggered by an unidentifiable segment before the expected mandatory segment.*
Please help to resolve the issue.

Hi,
   You cannot add an segment in the middle of other segments.
YOu have to add any segment at the last.
If you want to add a segment as the child of another segment, it should be added after the last child of the parent segment.
In you case, you have to add your segment after the E1CUCFG segment.(NOt under that segement)

MDM IDOC Mapping: segments don't seem to be grouped properly

Hi! I'm been struggling with implementing MDM 5.5 SP3, where I have successfully extracted IDOCs (materials, vendors, customer) and have been using the mapping tool to map IDOC fields to MDM data structures.
My issue is when I map the IDOC fields to structures, the record segments don't seem to keep their record grouping --as a result, when searching the data in the MDM Data Manager, the tables act independently (the records don't seem to be linked).
I've been able to load the validation tables with the help of the MDM BLOG prior to the data load.
I've also encountered other issues, as the MDM import manager triggers windows errors (stops working) when maps become complex.
I'm using qualified tables; I tried to use the SAP delivered content, but the many required / dependent fields are not available or not maintained in my R/3 source systems. So, I've created my own repositories with only 20 fields (three qualified tables) in hopes to get a working model (so far no luck).

Yo should be using the import maps already in the standard business content for SP3 (They come as .map files in the SP3 distribution files). This way it works very fine and you don't have to develop anything, just use the standard mappings. It really doesn't matter if you are not using all of the fields, it works fine if they are empty.

I had that problem too. The only workarround I've found was to save the map as soon as you make a join or clone any field, then exit import manager and open it again.

ALE: mapping IDoc fields to change document fields - TBD22 for ADRMAS iDoc

I am currently try to find a table or way to extract the information of the TBD22 table (ALE: mapping IDoc fields to change document fields) for the iDocs/ Message Types:
ADRMAS
INTERNAL_ORDER
PROJECT
I am looking for a table that shows me to which SAP R/3 tables and fields the segments and fields of the above mentioned messages will be mapped to.
When I add one of the above mentioned message types to the table TBD22 selection criteria I always receive the notification: "No table entries found for specific key".
Could anybody determine Which table I have to use or why I cannot extract this information?

Hi,
Since we can not map the target IDOC when any of the field changes using nodefunctions , you can write UDF and check the same i.e if field1 changes or field2 changes or field3 changes then trigger new IDoc. This is one of the options that you can try...please try it once.

IDoc field and SAP Table field

I want to find out which SAP table field is populating the given IDoc segment without getting into ABAP code? Do we have something like "Where-used" list? On the reverse side, If I want to know which SAP Table field the incoming IDoc segement is posting to, how do I do that? Thanks in advance.

This is very difficult without going into the ABAP code. Some time it is easy like if you see IDOC MATMAS05
Segment E1MARAM = MARA
Segment E1MAKTM = MAKT
Segment E1MARCM = MARC
etc.... also you can judge from the name of a segment.

Idoc field with Blank value

Hi,
I am sending data from one SAP system to other SAP system. I am using standard IDoc FIDCCP02 and sending this Idoc with the help of function module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
In this IDoc I want to send field 't_e1fiseg-prctr' with no value, can you please let me know how I can do this ?
When I am trying to pass space then this field is not appearing in target system.

Hi,
If there is no value in the field/segment, then the field/segment won't appear in the isoc, hence to make it appear you should pass the value '/' in the field.
Note: when we do this we are indicating the system, it tells the SAP system that there is no data in the field, the same thing we do when we manually process IDOC by WE19 Transaction.
Please validate the same at your end, please come back, if any more inputs from my end are required.

Balancing field "Segment" in line item 001 not filled while posting through

HI All,
I am experiencing the below error while processing FB70 transaction in Foreign currency with Tax codes (earlier this problem was not there, this is happening recently). The error description as given below.
"Balancing field "Segment" in line item 001 not filled
Message no. GLT2201
Diagnosis
The field Segment marked as balancing is not filled with any value in line item 001, even after document splitting.
System Response
The document cannot be posted.
Procedure
First check your entries.
Additional causes could be:
No value can be derived for this field from the current document data.
You have entered a document type that is not designed for this business purpose."
I have verified all the relevant settings like Classify G/L accounts for document Splitting and Document types etc and all settings are seems to be ok.
But in the below two instances, Iu2019m not getting any error:
If posting is done in company code currency with same tax codes.
If posting is done in foreign currency without tax codes

Have you chosen Segment as Mandatory for the Scenarios during Document splitting. If not then for the G/L account you are facing problems with goto the field status and make segment field optional.

Could some one help me out in solving the below issue.
I am getting the below error message while running the depreciation run.
"Field Segment is a required field for G/L account EM01 480000
Message no. F5808
Diagnosis
The value for field "Segment" in the interface to Financial Accounting is an initial value but you are required to make an entry in the field selection for G/L account "480000" in company code "EM01" linked to the field selection for posting key "40".
System Response
Error
Procedure
It might be an error in the configuration of the G/L account field selection. The initial application, used to call up the interface must otherwise define a value for field "Segment". If this is the case, contact the consultant responsible for the application used to call up the interface or get in contact with SAP directly.

Please check the field status group assigned to your GL account 480000 (Transaction FS00 > Interest/ Bank Details tab.) and then check the field status in transaction OBC4 for this field status group for the field Segment.
Also check the field status of your posting key in OB41.
