IE8 and smart select compatability

Why is there no fix for this problem?  Surely Microsoft and/or HP care.

Hi RandyP,
Here is a link from microsoft that may help with this problem.

  • Help - Problems with the Compatibility IE8 and IE9 (ADF)

I want to know because some parts do not fit in IE browsers versions 8 and 9. I've done these actions of this tutorial but I saw the compatibility mode is enabled on the page components to function normally. But the bigger problem is compatibility with AJAX components, which have tables that update when the information is recorded in real time, shows a loading bar (which is a component that fetch data) when you enter information, this bar when the browser is in compatibility mode (IE9) remains on the screen no action, and when the page is removed this compatibility mode works but load bar components are inserted all dysfunctional again, ie the application works perfect works only in firefox but the problem is I need to work on IE9, here's the link that made the changes,
    [http://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/running_adf_faces_applications_with_ie_9_in_ie_8_compatibility_mode|http://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/running_adf_faces_applications_with_ie_9_in_ie_8_compatibility_mode]
If anyone has experienced this and can give a help

    Hi,
think I should remove the blog post or make it more apparent that this is for testing purposes only. ADF Faces does not support IE compatibility mode in production because of known issues in IE. So while you can use the solution I documented to install a newer version of IE while still developing for an older version, it is not supported at runtime. In your case, use IE9 native (or install IE8 and use this native) and run it with a JDeveloper version that is certified for the browser version.
Anything showing different in IE9 native than in IE 8 native (using a JDeveloper version certified for IE9) then can be considered a bug

  • I am using Firefox but haven't unistalled IE8 , are these browers compatable and/or do I need unitstall IE8?

I hate IE8 and decided to use Firefox again, however I haven't uninstalled IE8 because I don't wanna lose it if I decide to go back at a future date. Does anyone know if IE8 and Firefox are compatible?
Can I get IE8 free if I decide to delete it? Will I lose any unsaved history or information ?

You don't need to uninstall IE8 to use Firefox, you can even use them at the same time if you wish.

  • Full format on Arch and map badsectors and smart outputs

    Hi.
I would like to ask for your help. Recently i've been worried about my two Seagate Barracuda 14 series drives because smart provided by a smartmontools shows "end to end error" that is critical to a hard drive condition. I've been searching over the www for more info but most of them tells that drives with "end to end error" should be immediately returned for an RMA. My drives works well, even with this smart information, wrong parameter. I read that under windows doing a full format will check drive for a bad sector and it there are spare, than they would be remaped.
I would like to ask for the same thing under linux - how to do a full format to check drive condition, to remove existing bad block/bad sectors when they show up? Doing mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdXY will do the same thinh? Maybe using gparted and do it using gparted gui?
This is my smart from two drives:

I have found on www that "end to end error" means that chip on drive is either damaged, or broken and can't work properly when checking data that are being writed, they are not in match with data recived and stored in cache.
    Could somebody help? Thanks.
In fact, it's just a bad joke from seagate. Two drives, rather new, one with around 2500h and one with only 500h are damaged, and damaged critical according to smart when my older Barracuda 11 has around 25000h and works fine! I don't want to spend fortune to hdd, won't buy red series from WD, won't buy green because i read a lot about broken green series drives...and now Seagate...

My gut feeling is this is nothing to worry about.  What are the odds that both failed in exactly the same way.
From reading around it seems Seagate's SMART compatibility is questionable and highly proprietary.  More than likely smartmontools is misreporting things under the circumstances.  Apparently Seagate has an iso you can download and test your drives with that for a more accurate diagnoses.
Here is their answer:What gave you tthat SMART error? It seems to me the
Linux diagnostic? Our SMART values are proprietary and do not conform to
the industrie standard. That is why 3rd party tools cannot correctly
    read our drives.
To check on the condition of the drive, download Seatools for DOS (it
boots into Free BSD and works with Linux).
    Here is the download link:
    http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?l … 04090aRCRD
Seatools for DOS is an ISO image file that is burnt to CD. You boot with
that CD and run the long test that will examine every sector on that
drive. If Seatools indicates the drive has a problem, you should
exchange it (it will generate an error code)."
    http://sourceforge.net/p/smartmontools/ … /24435188/
It seems the problem is not very rare.
Yes, they suggested me the same thing on Seagate support but...well...i want to be sure...i just can't belive that seatools is far better than smart reads.

  • PEAP-TLS: same settings in PEAP Properties and Smart Card & Cert Properties?

When setting up a GPO for a wireless network profile via GPMC in Windows 2008 R2, in the
Protected EAP Properties window there are check boxes for
Validate server certificate and Do not prompt user to authorize new servers or trusted certification authorities, a textbox for
Connect to these servers, and a selections list for
    Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
All these configurable options show up again if you click on Configure when using
Smart Card or other certificate as the authentication method.  You can set them as you wish there, different from PEAP Properties even.
My question is, which set of options takes precedence? A sane person will probably keep them the same, but why have that confusion in the interface?

    Hi Roland,
All of these two settings will take effect.
PEAP is an EAP method that addresses this security issue by first creating a secure channel that is both encrypted and integrity-protected with TLS. Then, a new EAP negotiation with another EAP method occurs within the secure channel, authenticating the
network access attempt of the access client.
Therefore, the first settings is the settings of the TLS secure channel (outer layer), and the second settings is the settings of new EAP negotiation (inner layer). If we choose "Smart Card or other certificate" as the authentication method of PEAP,
there will be two TLS secure channel actually.

  • Business Catalyst and Smart Phones

If I make a site in Muse then uplaod it to Business Catalyst can I make it Smart phone compatable from Business Catalyst?

    Hi Gabriel,
In order to make it compatible for smartphones from Business Catalyst you will have to design the pages or template for smartphones. Business Catalyst simply lets you design the templates for mobile devices separately.
The pages created in Muse will not be rendered smart phone compatible by business catalyst.
Also, that will not be backwards compatible with Muse. So, next time you publish through Muse, changes will be gone and you will have to make the changes again.

  • Disappearing thumbnails and smart albums

    Hi to you all,
I made a smart album of images that have missing faces data which works well. However, once I leave the smart album by selecting another project folder (that has images in it), I don't see any thumbnails in the browser view! The project has the total number of images in the folder but none are visible. I don't have any filters set either. The only way to view the thumbnails in a project is to restart AP. Seems it only happens when I select the smart album, add a few faces then click back to a project. Anyone had any issues like this? Can anyone replicate it? Thanks! Oh and I've repaired permissions, rebuilt the library

There seems to be a glitch with Stacks and Smart
Albums. If I base a smart album on a set of
parameters and the photo is not the select of a stack
it does not get selected for the smart album. For
example if I make a select based on a client then
choose later to make a 5 star rating out of the stack
that is not the select it will not appear in the 5
star library smart folder until I break the stack.
So I have to go back to the original stack and break
it to allow the search to work. Does anyone know
    how to fix this?
In the parameters for the smart album you need to check "Ignore Stack Groupings".
Be aware of an interesting issue you may run into later around this. If you drag a set of images out of a smart album that ignores groupings into a "normal" album that holds images, you will only see images that are also stack picks show up in the destination album. I have lobbied via feedback for Aperture to always make an image drug into an album from a smart album the "Album Pick" for that album to eliminate that exact problem.
Another odd behavior of smart albums you may find useful is that whatever level you define a smart album at is the level it always searches, no matter where you move it after. So you can make a top-level smart album doing a search across many folders and projects, and keep it neatly stored under a different top level folder where if you had tried to put the smart album to start with it would not see images.

  • Diff  bet Adobe forms and smart forms?

    Hi Friends
What is the diff between Adobe forms and Smart Forms
    Thanks & Regards
    Kanni

    Hello,
    Smartform:
To create and maintain forms for mass printing in SAP systems. Besides using the printer for standard output you can also select the Internet (by using a generated HTML output), a fax, or e-mail as the output medium. Smart Forms allows you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools

    Adobe Form:
Interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further.

  • When will Windows 7 and IE 8 compatability roll out?

If you look at this thread 'Xcelsius 2008 Fix Pack 3.1 (FP3.1) is now available'  there is a "upcoming major Xcelsius release" mentioned but no dates or timelines.  When is this going to happen and will Windows 7 compatability be part of that release?  I have customers right now that want to know, if they integrate some Xelcius dashboards into our web application, will this work in Windows 7 and IE 8.
I also noticed the expiration notice on 2008 Engage Server going away.  I have Xcelsius 2008 Engage (not the server version).  What is the estimated life cycle on it in light of the Server version going away next year.
P.S. I am aware of the XP compatability mode in Windows 7 but I have a hard time believing SAP would consider that a permanent solution.

    Hi Matt,
I understand you can't give any detailed timelines yet, as I can only assume you guys are still early in the development cycle for some of the fixes and updates required for Windows 7 and IE 8 compatibility.  My problem is I have customers that want a reporting solution integrated into the web application my company provides as a product.  We want to sell them on the idea of buying Xcelsius licenses and developing their own metrics reports that would seamlessly integrate with our application and we provide an API for them to do that right now.  It becomes a pretty tough sell when they ask about Windows 7 and IE 8 compatibility and I can't really tell them anything definitive other then  "I think SAP is working on that?".  Its not like were talking about an obscure OS and browser, this is Microsoft after all and its my understanding they have a bit of a following    .  I would, at the very least, like to be able to confidently tell my customers that SAP is commited to making sure Xcelsius 2008 Engage (or what ever the next version name is ) will be fully compatible with Windows 7 and IE 8 and that the long term plan is the end of this year? middle of next year? some other non-ridiculous time frame so I can assure them its not a waste of time waiting for this product to be updated?
You mentioned any SWF files we create (at least it was implied) should run as long as Flash Player 9 or later is installed? Is that truly the case? The reason I ask is the Adobe web site says the Flash Player 10 is compatible with both Windows 7 and IE8.  Is the only issue driving this compatability problem the version of the Flash Player installed, or are there still some pieces of Xcelsius that need to be rewritten to accomodate Windows 7 and IE8 regardless of what version of Flash Player is resident?  Bottom line is what can I tell my customers to reassure them this is the correct path forward for their reporting needs?
    Thanks,
    Matt

I have read that older versions require the compatability, and the version you specified (and earlier) I think is the version that had the issue. I suspect an upgrade of Jdeveloper is the solution and that may open a whole other can of worms.
Here is an article on it https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/running_adf_faces_applications_with_ie_9_in_ie_8_compatibility_mode

  • Problem when enterring punctuation in Metadata and Smart Collections

It seems that Lightroom isn't applying the same logic to punctuation enterred in metadata and smart collections. For example:
Create a photo with City set to "D'Hanis". Just type those keys, LR will replace the simple straight appostrophe with a nicer angled one. And yes, there is such a town--I have many relatives from there.
Now create a smart collection matching City is "D'Hanis" (again, just type that from the keyboard). In this case the ' character seems to be left as the plain ASCII version. This also means that the smart collection will not match the metadata.
Workaround is to select a relevant image, select the metadata and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl-C), and then paste that value into the smart collection dialog box so that the smart collection is truly searching for the value in the metadata.

    Hi,
At any case the two headers will not be displayed if you select the both "start of table" and "at page break.". Please check whether there is another widow in the form from where the header is displaying.
    Thanks ,
    Abhijit

  • Re: applock and smart app lock does not work on 5.1.1

Hi @omdavice @wantboost When turn on the sony only the red led light flashed multiple times. This could be because battery was fully drained or there
was a problem with the boot. If you press the 3 buttons Power, Volume down and Volume up for about 8 seconds and then release them, the sony logo would appear. If this doesn´t work, you can also first run a backup of the device information like this: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Backup-amp-Transfer/m-p/407253#U407253 Then try performing a system repair using PC Companion: http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/ This will factory reset your phone and erase all data. You might need tocharge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery. Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device). Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP. I hope can be useful.
    Best Regards,

My Xperia ZL have an strange battery behaviour. It started with a crazy battery indicator, for example, sometimes it is showing 75% of battery, then I start to use some app, and the battery drains to 50%, but right after I close de app, the battery shows 63%. So I've never been able to know how my battery is going for sure. Sometimes it is showing 35%, then I just use some app for a few minutes, the battery goes to 15% and suddenly the phone turns off. But when I reboot it, it is showing 30% again.
To charge the phone's battery, I must have luck, because it looks like the phone choose when it would like to charge the battery. The problem turns worst when the battery drains totally. The battery simply doesn't charge, the phone turns on and off constantly. When I plug the battery charger, the LED indicator glows a weak red light, then the "SONY XPERIA" appears, and then the phone turns off, the cycle repeats if I let the battery charger plugged in, back to the weak red light.
Does anyone here had the same problem with Xperia ZL? Does a simple battery change might resolve this issue?
    Thank you!
