- If you have a backup, yo canrestor another iPod, iPhone or iPad from that backup.
- You can also extract some data from the backup by:
--- iPhone Backup Extractor for Windows and Mac
--- Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
- If you used PhotoStream then try getting photos from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

Do you have the computer working again? If so, sync the iPhone to the computer, and in iPhoto it should show up as a 'camera' and you can import the photos from there. You can also open iTunes and transfer the music from the iPhone to your iTunes library.

What happens of someone stole my ipod is there anyway to get another one besides buying a whole new one? Does anyone know? And why does it have to be connected to the internet for it to locate my apple devices? There should be a locating chip in it already. Better ideas here..

You'll have to buy a new one, unless it is covered in some kind of insurance that you have.

  • I have collected alot of music over the years and the new update will delete all my music.  I have puchased a new computer about a year ago so the previous music that I have is not available.  Is there anyway to get the update and not lose all my music

I have collected alot of music over the past couple years and the new update for the itouch says that it will erase all music and videos on the ipod.  Is there anyway to do the update and not lose all my music or is there a way to take all the music off my ipod and store it on my computer to put back on after the update?  Any help

... I have had numerous computers over the past years
Let me guess, you have had numerous Windows computers, all of which crashed or became worthless virus-ridden junk. Happens every day, yet people think Macs are expensive.
Anyway, you are going to need the assistance of third party utilities to extract your iPod Touch's content. See wjosten's procedure here:

  • Is there anyway to get back songs I already purchased?

I recently purchased some songs on iTunes but I had an issue with my computer and now they're gone. Is there anyway to get them back with out buying them again?

If you are in the US then you should be able to re-download them for free, as long as they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If you are not in the US then have you not got backups on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs ? If not then you can try contacting Apple and see if they will let you re-download, though they are under no obligation to do so  : http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/contact/

  • I found an old iPod classic of mine.  It's not synced to my new MacBook Pro.  How can I get the music and photos off of it and on to my new computer?  When I plug it in to my new computer it wants to erase what is on it and transfer from my new computer.

I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone.  I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer.  Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer.  I don't want to do that.  I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes.  Any help?  Thanks!

See this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • Is there anyway to take a song and use only part of it?

I need to use the intro and solos from a few songs is there anyway to do that?

If you right click the song in iTunes and select 'Get Info' then click the 'Options' tab, here you can type in what point you want the song to start or finish or both if you wish to get a solo for instance in the middle of a song. If you then load it onto your iPod or play it with itunes it will just play the bit of the song you selected (although the whole file will still be there). Unfortunately this does not actually cut the track it just remembers where you want it to start and stop.
    hope this helps.

  • I just lost my ipod. any ways to further protect my data and photos stored therein?

as topic.  Thanks. I dun want my personal info to be retained by other people.

They cannot get into your iPod without the passcode.  If you've set it to wipe the iPod after 10 wrong attempts it will remove everything.  However, I was surprised to see that some perfectly legal third party programs such as Aiseesoft iPhone Transfer will read and copy music, books, photos etc. and contacts from a locked iPod.

  • My phone got wet and wont turn on. Is there anyway to get it repaired and get the pictures off of it?

What options do I have to save my phone?

Well, since you tried to turn it on while wet the chances of recovering anything have just been reduced. But try putting it in a plastic bag with uncooked rice for several days to draw the moisture out of it. You may then be able to restore it or turn it on. If you've been syncing regularly, backing up to your computer or iCloud, or have enabled Photo Stream your pictures are safe. If you have done none of these things they are lost unless the phone recovers after drying out.

  • Is There Anyway To Get Back Playlists?

I had to dump Windows and re-add it, but I totally forgot to back up my music. I had over $400.00 of tunes and lost everything. Is there anyway to get back my library/playlists. Thank you.

*I had over $400.00 of tunes and lost everything*
If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: Customer Service - iTunes Store Support
If you have an iPod that still has any of your purchases on it you'll find details in this article on how to transfer them to the computer: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
*Is there anyway to get back my library/playlists*
Not without a backup of the library files to restore from

  • I lost my my ipod touch (generation 3) - i only had music and photos on it - no mail enabled.  i am wondering if someone finds my ipod and tries to use it, will they be able to download the photos to their computer?

i lost my ipod touch (gen 3) it had only music and photos on it. no mail enabled but passlock off.   i am worried if someone finds it, they will be able to download the fotos by connecting to a new computer and not syncing but just downloading.  that is the case, right?

There are ways to get content off the iPod from another computer, yes. Someone has to know a bit about what they're doing, though, but it's not horrendously difficult. So it is possible that someone could get your photos.
    Regards.

I'm sorry to hear that the computer died and the iPod was lost.
