If I made a 'one page website' can I refer directly to a sub page

Hi all,
I am currently designing a new website and are considering a
Spry style 'one page website' vs. a more 'traditional model' with
individual pages that includes content for header, menu etc. via
server side includes so they can be executed in there own right.
I love the snappy smooth user experience that I would be able
to create but I am wondering how I could send someone a link to a
particular sub section (ie. currently I would sent
http://www.domain.com/about_us.html
and it would work nicely. In the 'one page website' the sub pages
only get fully formatted if loaded into the panel.
What I would like to do is to create a similar direct
reference capability. Have anyone done something similar. I was
thinking of perhaps having a parameter on the url:
http://www.domain.com/index.html?about_us.
This should then set the content of the panel on load.
If anyone has done something like this, I would greatly
appreciate it if they could share technical details. This seems to
be the last large barrier for me before going to this approach.

there are someway to do this
1.you could use old JS trick to hide & show element based
on element id (in your case maybe hiding a big div that hold 1
page), example :

and for JS part (on <head>):

2. second way was to call Spry LoadUrl() function and give
the callback, you don't need actually request anything using this,
you can use this to load
All the elements(DOM) on the page you request and set the
callback for it
refer to spry manual/example
3. third way was using spry tab panel widget, you can
re-style the CSS so it seem seamlessly integrate into your page :D
4. last but not least, using traditional iframe should help,
but notice this could be problematic if you use Session/Cookie for
your page

How to open an existing Pages document?
Click Pages icon in the Dock to launch Pages.

I keep getting a Yahoo DNS error handler page, and can't even access the add-ons page to disable it because it redirects me to the Yahoo DNS page immediately

I have already seen some suggested solutions to the problem of this extremely annoying Yahoo DNS error solutions page, but they involve going to the add-ons page of firefox and disabling various add-ons. The issue is that even when I try to go to the add-ons page I get immediately redirected to the Yahoo DNS solutions page again.
I have cleared my browser history and cache, hoping it would help, but nothing. Extremely annoying as I never installed anything - it simply started after a Firefox upgrade.
Any help much appreciated.

Open the Help menu and choose Restart Firefox with Add-ons Disabled. Remove any offending extensions. For details, see the "Uninstall from Firefox Safe Mode" section of the following article.

You need to select some text or an object in order to make the enable hyperlink to become available.
You can create a hyperlink to your payment page by adding some text (something like "Click here to order" or whatever), selecting the text and go to the link pane and select the Link to External page. Then put http://www.LASTARBABIES.com/payment into the URL window. Then you can format the link color and rollover color in the Format section of the link pane.
The resulting link would look something like this: Click here to order". You can set the page to open in a new window or not.

How can I batch import images 1 per page?

I need to import images into the same Fireworks file, 1 per page. I have about 60 to do, and I'm hoping there's a better way then just adding them one by one. How can I batch import so that a page is created for each image?

Just select all the files in the file selection dialog. They'll be imported one to a page, sorted by their filename.

Sub pages and privilege

Hi All,
I have a page with 4sub pages. How can I make one of the sub page, let say sub page 3, become invisible based on the user group? I define the A privilege for the sub page 3 but it seems not working at all. It's still showing all the sub pages to all users regardless of the privilege that I've just set. Please help!

First, make sure you have not set access to any groups (except maybe portal admins) at the PAGE GROUP level. (Navigator > Page Groups tab > Properties link next to the page group > Access tab.) Any access set to a group at the page group level will override access on any sub pages, tabs, or items within that page group.

Can I open directly into slideshow mode?

Is it possible once having cretaed a photo gallery to also create a seperate link to open a web page directly into Sl,odeshow mode without having to first go to the gallery page and click on click on Play Slide Icon link for the Slideshow pop up.?
It would be great to have the option of creating alink directly to the slideshow.

no you can't, because the pop up slideshow window widget requires the thumbnails page to be opened first, so that the image stream loader loads in the images.
It would be great to have the option of creating alink directly to the slideshow.
but you can have slideshow directly on the thumbnails page, if you know how to work iweb javascript widgets.

Sub pages for video?

Can I create sub pages of videos in the same way as sub pages with photopages can be created.
What I want to achieve is a Video Gallery with links to various videos.

You have to do by hand. But at least you can still use the photo template. Just make each video have a screengrab. Then drag all the screengrabs to the photo page just like normal. After you do that, you need to make the links by making transparent squares that cover up each screengrab. Just make the squares and then change the trasparentcy to 1%. Then put the link to each video page on it. I don't know why you have to do it this way, but it works.

One certain website, won't let me print several pages. trys to fit all pages in one!

There is a credit card account that when I try to print the statement, the bottom of the first page "squishes" all on the bottom. The statement could be 4 pages long, doesn't matter, it tried to "squish" on bottom of first page. The first 3/4 of the page statement prints out fine. This just started happening approx. 3 weeks ago, Worked fine before. I have to go to Internet Explorer or Google CHrome if I want to print out my statement. And like I said, this only happens with this credit card statement, nothing else. Is it their website?

Firefox has problems printing some styles in HTML pages that appear normal on the screen, but since this is confidential information, it's hard to give any suggestions on what to try, and it's probably not helpful to suggest hacking the page. The following are general suggestions.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Does that help?
Could you try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Safe mode does not automatically disable plugins. Flash should be fine, but you could disable the others here:

I'm creating a one page website with Adobe Muse. My problem is, how to make the menu buttons (which are pinned at the top and are always on the same point when scrolling down) change their status (Normal, active, etc.) when the adequate page is reached by scrolling)

To achieve this you can create manual menu. You have the option for creating manual menu in Muse. Check this :
Later when you have created the menus, you can create anchors for different sections of the site where you want to direct the users when they click on one menu item and then link the menu item to those anchors.

One page website trouble.

I created a simple one page website for a friend of mine and it looks and works how it should in the preview but when I uploaded it to her website all of it got messed up. The All of the backgrounds that were supposed to be 100% aren't, the tabbed panel is overlapping? in a way, and the slideshow doesn't work. Is there something I did wrong? Or is anyone else having similar problems?
