If I replace my LCD screen (broken) myself. Am I still under warranty for my broken headset jack?, If I replace my LCD screen (broken) myself. Am I still under warranty for my broken headset jack?
Someone please varify
As the others have said, if you attempt to perform any hardware service on your iPod yourself, you will completely void the warranty. But if the iPod was dropped or otherwise damaged, the warranty is almost certainly void anyway, even for the headphone jack problem. Rather than trying to fix both problems yourself, you may wish to search the net for third-party repair services and see what they'd charge to fix both problems on your iPod. Apple's pricing, for comparison purposes, can be found here:

I would like to know if apple will replace it. If not, then I will take somewhere cheaper but it has some scratches so I would like to get a new one.
The home button doesn't work, the LCD cable is broken and the screen is cracked! Wow. That's the worst case of abuse that I've seen. I think that Apple will laugh at you.

Replacement of broken lcd display screen
Hi
I dropped my iphone 4 and the lcd display screen is broken.
While i am still able to use the phone, not sure if we can have this replaced.
I purchased the phone while in Sydney, Australia but have now relocated to Chennai, India.
Would be grateful if someone can advise whether it can be replaced, whether apple store have this facility or whether we get the original screen outside

Maybe have your screen replaced by Lenovo Support. Replacing a tablet LCD can be tricky maybe.

Satellite Z830 - how to replace broken Screen?
A careless family member has succeeded in cracking the screen of a fairly new Toshiba z830. It's broken quite badly, so I doubt it will be reparable.
I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on the best way to go about getting a replacement, bonus points for any information in the Melbourne area.
Thank youI'd rather not pay the $459 or 459 or whatever to get the screen fixed by Toshiba. I've had 20 laptops before, I never cracked a screen like this so easily. I didn't drop the laptop nor bump it nor squeeze it, I just transported it in my hand baggage on the airplane as I always do with many previous laptops, the Z830 screen is too fragile. I really like the screen, I like its matte finish, I like the thin and light magnesium form factor of the laptop, and swobbly screen does not bother me, except the design is just much too fragile, the glass surface of the LCD is not protected as it must be. I'm the one who video-blogged this interview with a Toshiba representative about that nice design afterall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Cq07Ee89o
Since I don't want to pay the $500 repair fee, and since I guess Toshiba never replaces a cracked screen under warranty? I need to know if it'll work if I buy this screen: http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/toshiba/PORTEGE~Z830-S8302/ and I need to know exactly what screw driver I need and if there is a YouTube video and/or tutorial with detailed images and explanations so that I can hopefully safely make the screen replacement myself. And thus so that I can do it for about $100 myself instead of paying Toshiba $500 to make it.
I guess it'd be best if Toshiba actually sold that screen and the necessary screw driver to DIY change a broken screen (loose warranty is ok then), does Toshiba sell the screen replacement and screw driver for Z830/Z835?
I also tried http://screensurgeons.com/ and http://youtube.com/ScreenSurgeons/ but they don't seem to have made a video showing how to replace the Z830/Z835 screen yet.
If you look at the comments on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMH0r76zdt0 about the Z830/Z835 teardown (only to replace RAM or SSD), there are several comments from users who also cracked their Z830/Z835 screen but I can't seem to find on YouTube a video showing how to replace the screen yet.
Thanks for your help. I'd like to buy that screen replacement soon, I need this laptop screen fixed before I go on a travel on October 11th. -
Portege Z830 - screen has been broken and I need to replace it
Hi
I have Toshiba Portege z830. My screen has been broken and I need to replace it.
Is it possible to install some IPS screen instead of original LTN133AT25-601? Which IPS screen is compatible with LTN133AT25-601?Hi
The original LCD which was used in Z830 was an 13.3"(HD) 1366 x 768 TFT Color LCD.
So if you want to use other display, then you should pay attention to the screen size and the connectors.
I think these are most important key elements. -
The LCD screen of my iBook G4 was smashed in an accident. The laptop works fine but the screen is broken. What is the best option for replacing the screen? Is there any option in India?
Harisakhee
iBook G4 12.1''Since accidental damages are not covered under basic AppleCare or the
optional extended service there; you will have to find a reseller who can
do the work and not adversely affect the remaining hardware. So, to say
they should be qualified in repair as any Apple repair would require.
There is an AppleAsia site and perhaps the link I found there can be of
help in narrowing a search for a qualified reseller / repair center not too
far from your location. India is covered under the AppleAsia region, so
that may be a matter of cost and time; depending on distances and the
cost of parts. Some authorized repair centers may have a second parts
computer, (perhaps with different damage?) and if so, you may get a
break -bad pun- on the cost of a display and lid, plus hinge, etc; when
compared to full retail. But I'd expect a first-rate repair if you go to an
authorized Apple reseller with an adjacent repair center; or one they use.
In some localities, the repair still may be routed to Apple; if they have
no one qualified to do them and if parts availability is limited there.
AppleAsia: http://www.asia.apple.com/buy/reseller/ (general finder page)
Apple/India Portable sales/support/service:
http://www.asia.apple.com/buy/reseller/FMPro
There may be other qualified technicians, but to restore an iBookG4
may be a judgement call; and the total costs not under warranty may
be prohibitive in some locations. I wish you well in your quest...
Good luck!

Replaced Broken/Cracked Screen On My T510 Now Screen Is Very Dim
Hi, I replaced a broken/cracked screen (which was working fine with backlight) on my T510 with another LCD screen and now I can't see anything unless I hold it at a certain angle in bright daylight. I've read a little around this topic and some searches have suggested the LCD convertor may have been shorted so I replaced with another but still a no go. Others searches suggested it may be a fuse that I may have blown on the motherboard, if so is this an easy fix? As I can seen the screen is working, is it something to do with the backlight? Any thoughts/advice would be really appreciated. Thanks
Backlight system consist of three components:
1) MB
2) Inveter
3) Lightsource
At the moment you don't know where the fault is, so you have to test each of components. Start testing with lightsource. You write that your previous screen had working backlight. If you still have that screen, connect it to your current inverter. If backlight is working on broken screen - backlight on your current screen is faulty. If backlight is not working test another component - inverter. Here you have 2 options:
1) Check for output voltage using Voltmeter (be sure to chek if you Voltmeter can handle HV that will be between output terminals).
2) Get inverter from eBay or any other after-market source. Most of inverters are generic, so search by manufacturers model number instead of Lenovo/IBM part number.
If it is still not working with new adapter 0 your MB will have to be replaced.

I have a HP Slatebook 2 in 1 that has a broken touch screen display. The screen still shows images but the touchscreen no longer works. I'd like to replace the it but I'm having trouble finding a local company in Denver CO. who can do this.
I'm not a "techy" type person so trying to do this myself is not an option.Hi @DawnGibs
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publically post ( serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

I tried to replace the screen on my ipad 4 but now I have broken the retaining clip that holds the LCD ribbon in place. Do you if apple store would repair this even though I have not stuck the screen back on
Any warranty you had would have been voided by you trying to repair the iPad yourself but Apple will repair/replace your device for a fee:
https://www.apple.com/support/ipad/repair/other/
In your case $299
Set up an appointment with a Genius Bar and they'll go over your options. -
My laptop is Envy m6 series and the LCD screen is partialy broken.
There's a long black line shaped like 1/4 circle at the top left of the LCD screen.
So,
1. It hasn't even a year since I buy it, can I get a this problem covered by warranty?
2. If, just if, it's not covered by the warranty, how much is the LCD screen for my laptop?
I really hope that it can be covered....
Thanks beforeGenerally broken screens are not covered by warranty since they cannot happen without some kind of trauma. The warranty covers stuff that just wears out or was defective at the time of sale. Some extended warranties from stores will cover cracked screens. To find your exact screen we would need the full model number. Unless it is an odd screen and assuming you can do it yourself it can cost as little as $50 to replace. It is much easier to do that you think and there are lots of youtube videos you can use for guidance.

HP Compaq A900 laptop broken screen replacement.
Hi Guys,
I am a newbie here. Please tolerate me if my question sound basic or silly.
I have a broken screen on my Compaq A900 laptop. Its a 17" WXGA+ lcd screen. I will try to replace it with a used screen as I am on a budget.
The question is will any 17" WXGA+ screen suitable as long as it is from another hp laptop ?
Any advise appreciated.
etwu
This question was solved.
View Solution. It is a little more complicated than that. You need to find the same model screen, and not all HPs with 17" widescreen wxga+ will work. The right one could come from an HP but also a Toshiba, etc. You need to remove the screen and search by the part number of the screen, or you can go on eBay and buy a screen for your specific model. Laptop screens are generally pretty reasonable now.
Here is one on eBay now, but $170 is just about as expensive as laptop screens run right now. You just have to be sure you are getting the right thing and if you search by screen model, not laptop model you will get more "hits" and likely a better price:

Will apple replace a broken iphone 5 lcd digitizer?
will apple replace a broken iphone 5 screen/lcd digitizer for free?
If you have AppleCare+ on it, you can file an accidental damage claim ($49, I think). AppleCare+ allows two such claims. But without AppleCare+, accidental damage is not covered under the basic one year warranty.

My HP computer (LCD) screen is broken but and nothing else on my computer is broke so if I go buy another screen and get an professional to put it in would it cost less
This question was solved.
View Solution. It really depends on how much the tech replacing it charges you. Replacing it yourself would be the most cost efficient, but it might prove to be somewhat of a difficult task to do on your own. You could also contact HP at 1-800-474-6836 and ask them how much it would cost to replace and repair.

Broken iPhone 5 LCD screen.
I recently dropped my iphone 5 face down on the ground. I think that the LCD screen is broken becasue there is black and white vertical lines going down the screen, and then it would fade away. The next minute it is fully functional. Am I right, and if I am, how much is it going to cost to replace?
for an out of warranty iphone 5 at the apple store could be at least $200 and some change..
