  • How can I sign out of my iCloud account from a macbook I no longer have access to?

I got a new macbook recently and neglected to sign out of my iCloud account on the old macbook before I erased and reset it.  Now eveytime I open a new Safari page on my iPhone, both macbooks show up with the Safari windows that are still "open".  I want to remove my old mac from my iCloud account and have removed it from Find My iPhone but the Safari link still shows up.  This is driving me bonkers.

If you mean the iCloud tabs for your old Mac, these will normally be cleared after 14 days.  Give it a couple of weeks and see if they don't disappear on their own.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5372:
"If you no longer have access to the device that shared the tab, the tab will automatically be cleared from the list after 14 days, if the tab is not updated."
Also, seeing the iCloud tab doesn't mean it's still signed into your account.  It just means that the tab hasn't been cleared yet.  If you completely erased it should no longer be signed into your account.

  • If i log out of an icloud account on an ipod and log into a different one can that old account still be tracked?

if i logged out of an icloud account that was the main one on the ipod and log into a different one can the old one still be tracked? if its not even in use

It depends on what you mean. If you mean that you changed the iCloud account to which Find My iPod is set up in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars settings, then the iPod will only be trackable through that iCloud account, not any previous one.
If that's not what you meant, please post back and clarify.

    Hey there jackofromgriffith,
I understand that you have an iPhone from your friend that is still associated with their iCloud account. You will need to disassociate the iPhone from your friend’s iCloud account in order to resolve your issues:

  • What happens if I sign out of my ICloud account?

Following my update to IOS 8 on my IPAD2 i have a major problem with ICloud Drive continually upgrading - continued for 72 hours.   I know that others are having the same problem. I have sougtt advice on this forum and I have tried a range of suggestions offered - but without success.  Over the last year I have backed up to I Cloud Drive and this has not  created issues.   As a precaution I also yesterday backed up on ITunes.   I. Have been advised to log out of ICloud Drive. There is an option to Sign Out of ICloud Drive. Comes with a warning though  " Deleting this account will remove its data from your IPad?"
What are the possible problems / risks from deleting my ICloud account?   If I delete ICloud then I would leave it for a couple of weeks then reset up ICloud Drive.   At present I use KeyChain and have 20 GB of storage but am only using 11GB of this.
And yes I know should have delayed move to IOS8 and delayed updating aiCloud drive.

Thanks for your reply.  You end by asking about my goal in deleting the ICloud Drive account.   The only reason I have considered deleting the account is because others have advised that deleting and reinstalling the account may stop my problem with ICloud Drive continually upgrading.
If it is clear that deleting the ICloud Drive account won't fix my problem then I will not delete ICloud Drive.
Apologies for being a bit slow on all this (am an old fellow) but not clear about syncing with ICloud.  I do not own or use any Apple products other than the IPad.   Until I backed up on ITunes yesterday I have not backed up on or synced with  ITunes for a year.  My daily back up has been to ICloud Drive - I have never actually had to access a backup.  I read your reply as saying my calendar, contacts can be kept if delete iCloud Drive.   I guess my photos and data in NOTES etc will remain on my IPad and be accessible irrespective of whether I have ICloud Drive?   I have a lot of APPS.  Not sure where data for the APPS is stored - on my IPad,  with company providing the APP or on ICloud?  Many of APPS I use predate my use of I Cloud so not sure if APP data is on ICloud Drive.

    thanks again for support.

  • How to sign out of old ICloud account

I have recently just updated to IOS 8 and I am unable to log out of my old ICloud account which I no longer have or know the password to I can't seem to find a way to log off so I am able to sign into iCloud with my other apple id

Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How do I sign out of my iCloud acct on a phone that's been sent away for servicing?o

HHow can I sign out of my iCloud account, on a phone that's been sent away for servicing?

    Hello madsruns,
You should be able to temporarily change your iCloud account back to what it was previously without having to verify it so you can sign out. Take a look at the article below and look at the Change your Apple ID temporarily to sort you out.

I'm planing on giving my ipod to my brother, I want to get out of my itunes account so he can get on his but he wants some of the apps that I already have. If I logout of my Itunes account will my apps still be on my ipod?

It will not remove any media form the iPod except if you sign out/delete tjhe iClould account Contacts Calendar, Notes and Reminderswill be deleted.
    Note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • Moving Photos And Videos Solely To ICloud

I have an ipad air 2, and as it is only a 16gb model I am running low on space, one of the things I am trying to do to save space is move all my photos and vides to solely my icloud (in full resolution), and not my iPads storage, is there any way I can do this? Thank you for your communication-Will

II'm sorry, but I really am not that familiar with the iCloud Photo Library, but after a closer look, you are correct. I don't use the feature anyway, because I do not want to give up iPhoto on my Mac nor do I want to pay for more storage than I already pay for.
IF that wasn't a solution, there is no other way to store photos in iCloud and totally remove them from your device without overwriting them at some point tin the future. What I mean is - technically you could backup with iCloud - remove the photos from the iPad and the photos will be in that backup. However once you backup again, you may overwrite that backup and erase all the photos that were in the backup. I would never recommend doing this.
No cloud storage in the world is as good as storage on a device that you can control and keep in your possession. What I do is import them to my Mac and then store them on another external drive. After they are imported, they can be safely deleted the from the iPad.
My most important photos stored are on my Mac in iPhoto and on an external drive as well.
