I just ran the update you sent me (to acrobat, i think) and beside installing google chrome and other stuff i don't want, now utube full screen doesn't work. How do i get utube back and get rid of everything that has anything to do with adobe???

I agree. When I want some other software, I will download and install it, at my leisure.
I resent it, when any program tries to do that "for" me. Default should be OFF, or NO, and then I can decide whether to get that program, browser bar, or whatever.
I feel the same way with changing File Associations. Turn that to OFF, and then let me choose the File Types, that I wish to associate with that program. Apple's QT Player updates was one of the absolute worst. It would automatically grab every File Association imaginable, though it could not Open most. Then, one had to manually go in, and change each File Association, if one could remember them all, and their previously specified program. That has finally changed, and for the better.
I would urge Adobe to not take the $'s, and to NOT include anything extra, except as a default of NO, with a user's choice to check, if desired.

I've just discovered that with the newest version of iTunes you can no longer delete apps you don't want. You used to be able to do so by connecting to to desktop computer and delete them. Tech support said you can't delete apps anymore. Not Good!

You used to be able to do so by going onto iTunes on your desktop computer and deleting them. Not Good! I just called tech support and they said that in this version there is no way to delete them. They also said there have been numerous complaints about this. You can't even delete them from your applications folder. It's as though you're being held hostage to apps you tried, but do not want.
While we're on the subject, I don't like the fact the the iPod touch comes with unistalable apps such as: Passbook, Nike & iPod, Newsstand, and Game Center. Don't want them, will never use them. Give customers the option to delete apps that we don't want. Call Apple's corporate customer care. escalation, and complain untill they fix this.

Does anyone else think the new iPhoto is not very good? you can no longer burn photo cd's directly from it!

I do not like the new iphoto, it will not let you burn a photo cd directly from iphoto like it used to. It use to be simple, now it's not. I also think the faces feature is a waste of time and you can't disable it. Overall i am not happy with this new product i had to pay for. I had to update the iphoto i loved because they stopped letting you send your photo's to be printed from it. Apple is failing. It seems they are more after new sorces of revenue then keeping a good product.

I don't use the Faces feature, nor the Places one either, but I don't find them a waste of time. There's nothing to disable, just don't use them. Burning to optical media is going the way of the floppy disk. New computers of every brand are showing up now without optical drives. In five years you'll have trouble finding a computer with a built-in drive to buy and in 10, you'll find it hard to get a drive that will play optical media at all. iPhoto 08 was released in 2007 and that means they supported online printing services for 6 years. The installed base of iPhoto 08 is so small now that it's not worth their while. How you get from your inconvenience to "Apple is failing" is not clear to me. iPhoto 11 is a much more capable application that 08, complete with full non-destructive editing.

When I hit tab on a form I get message "at least 2 windows have to be opened before you can merge them"

It seems that anytime I hit the tab key on a web page with a form, like to move the cursor between first name and last name for example a message appears at the top of the web page display area that says "at least 2 windows have to be opened before you can merge them".
I have to assume this is the result of an add-on or option change I've made but I cannot find it. If anyone has any idea what might be causing this behavior I would really appreciate any help resolving it.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

I installed MGEG Streamclip 193b8 and used their utility to install quicktimempeg2 and got a message stating it was successfully installed. (I'm on latest Maverick 10.9.2 on iMac) Then I dragged the VIDEO_TS file from my home DVD into the streamclip app. It asked which of 4 files to use, and I selected the first one. Streamclip played the video with the sound. so far so good. but now I cannot figure how to use quicktime player 10.3 to export this vob file out of streamclip.

I choose the smallest size, 3x4 but I'd prefer to go higher as this DVD was originally a VHS home movie. If you search the iBooks store for iBooksAuthor, you find any number of books available which will guide you through the basics. Download the free books and work through them, later you may decide to purchase other books.
If you have an iTunes Connect account, open and look for Deliver your Content ...open that section., top right are number of PDFs you should download and study. Below those, is an hour long video which will also show you the various functions available.
Its worthwhile to open the Help file in iBooksAuthor and work through it.
I also suggest that you open iBooks Author and open every menu option and become familiar with the functions.
Open any template and simply practice adding, changing and organising the book..this is better than starting a book without knowing what to do!

I stongly believe that Steve has given you the best advice. Actually, it's the same advice that I would have given you, if I had seen your post first!
I can verify that his books will give you more info, and in a more usable form, than tutoring, or even in-class, hands-on schooling will. Almost anything that can be done with the program (he also has a companion book for Photoshop Elements, which is often bundled with PrE) is covered in easy to understand detail.
After reading through, and working along, his second bit of advice, Muvipix, is also sound. Between this, and Muvipix fora (Community tab), there have been very few questions that could not be answered. Muvipix also is a great resource for additional articles on how things are done, plus tutorials.
I also recommend that one take an hour and read through both the FAQ and Tips & Tricks articles, found to the right of the PrE forum main page. I would read Steve's book first, so terms, etc. would be most clear.
There are two on-line training sites, that get great reviews: www.lynda.com and www.ltotaltraining.com. I have not subscribed to either, but have used the materials furnished from them with various Adobe programs. I also have several of the lynda.com books on various programs, and they are well-written. Now, they are NOT one-on-one tutoring, which is what you are looking for. They also probably do not cover PrElements, but that is just my guess. If they do, they would be another good source of training, though it's through tutorials, and not direct instruction.
This is just my 02¢'s worth of thought.
