Whenever I plug into a network, I don't know what does this, but Archlinux oddly seems to go through profiles in /etc/network.d. Why it doesn't simply call dhclient on the wired interface ??
My workaround is to manually setup the wired network everytime.
x220:~$  grep -v '^ *#' /etc/rc.conf | grep . | tail
UDEV_TIMEOUT=30
USEDMRAID="no"
USEBTRFS="no"
USELVM="no"
HOSTNAME="x220"
interface=eth0
NETWORK_PERSIST="no"
WIRELESS_INTERFACE="wlan0"
WIRED_INTERFACE="eth0"
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng @network @net-auto-wireless @net-auto-wired @crond @cpufreq @alsa @sshd @httpd)
Be great how if someone would be kind enough to hint how I should move this to /etc/conf.d/netcfg.
Also it would be great if http://projects.archlinux.org/netcfg.git/ was on github so I could sanely report bugs.
Thanks in advance,

The fink version ( /sw/bin/which ) does what you're looking as well--it doesn't recognize aliases though. tcsh and OS X's csh (which happens to be a duplicate of the tcsh executable) do recognize aliases.
I guess the script (/usr/bin/which) is there to either echo one's path when a command's not found or give a different response to aliases. Otherwise one could change the script to:
#! /bin/csh -f
which $arg
exit($?)
Note the added -f...this prevents aliases from being set by csh when they don't exist in the bash shell. But neither script will recognize aliases set in a bash shell.

  • How to trap null return values from getters when using Method.invoke()?

    Hi,
    I am using Method.invoke() to access getters in an Object. I need to know which getters return a value and which return null. However, irrespective of the actual return value, I am always getting non-null return value when using Method.invoke().
    Unfortunately, the API documentation of Method.invoke() does not specify how it treats null return values.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks

    What do you get as a result?I think I know what the problem is.
    I tested this using following and it worked fine:
    public class TestMethodInvoke {
    public String getName() {
    return null;
    public static void main(String args[]) throws SecurityException, NoSuchMethodException, IllegalArgumentException, IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException {
    Object o = new TestMethodInvoke();
    Class cls = o.getClass();
    Method m = cls.getMethod("getName", (Class[]) null);
    Object result = m.invoke(o, (Object[])null);
    if (result == null) {
    System.err.println("OK: Return value was null as expected");
    else {
    System.err.println("FAILED: Return value was NOT null as expected");
    However, when I use the same technique with an EJB 3.0 Entity class, the null return value is not returned. Instead, I get a String() object. Clearly, the problem is the the EJB 3.0 implementation (Glassfish/Toplink) which is manipulating the getters.

  • Job scheduling error : The return value was unknown. The process exit code was -1073741819. The step failed.

    I am working in Sqlserver 2008 R2, SSIS 64 bit version
    I am getting the below  error while scheduling the job in the development server  Database.
    The return value was unknown.  The process exit code was -1073741819.  The step failed.
    The SSIS front end execution runs fine.
    Have anyone  faced this issue before?

    Hi Venkat,
    If you already changed to 64bit and still doesn't work then create proxy account..
    To create a proxy account
    In Object Explorer, expand a server.
    Expand SQL Server Agent.
    Right-click Proxies and select New Proxy.
    On the General page of the New Proxy Account dialog, specify the proxy name, credential name, and
    description for the new proxy. Note that you must create a credential first before you create a proxy if one is not already available. For more information about creating a credential, see How
    to: Create a Credential (SQL Server Management Studio) or CREATE CREDENTIAL (Transact-SQL).
    Check the appropriate subsystem for this proxy.
    On the Principals page, add or remove logins or roles to grant or remove access to the proxy account.
    Thanks

  • How to call a dialog program with return value in another dialog program

    Dear All,
    How can I call a dialog program with return value from another dialog program?
    Regards,
    Alok.

    Hi Alok,
    You can you SET/GET parameters to do this.
    This is some information about this.
    To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
    ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETERstatements.
    To fill one, use:
    SET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
    This statement saves the contents of field f under the ID pid in the SAP memory. The ID pid can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under pid, this statement overwrites it. If you double-click pid in the ABAP Editor, parameters that do not exist can be created as a Repository object.
    To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
    GET PARAMETER ID pid FIELD f.
    This statement places the value stored under the pid ID into the variable f. If the system does not find any value for pid in the SAP memory, sy-subrc is set to 4. Otherwise, it sets the value to 0.

  • Display pass or fail in Report based on return value

    Hi,
    I'm trying to integrate TestStand with TestComplete using the ActiveX/COM server adapter.  I have the COM setup so that TestStand can call a test in TestComplete and have TestComplete return a string value (true|false) to TestStand.
    Now I need to get the TestStand report to display "pass" or "fail" text for this sequence call,  based on the return string from TestComplete.
    Is there someplace in Expressions or Post Actions that I can state and how:
    return value "True" = pass
    return value "false" = fail
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    Option 1.) Use a String Value Test.   The Limits.String would be 'True'.  This would be the easiest because you already returning strings from your ActiveX call.   You could make your ActiveX calls a String Value Test.
    Option 2.) Use a Pass/Fail Step.   You could set the returned string to a local variable and then create another Pass/Fail step that would have the Pass/Fail criteria as Locals.StringReturned == 'True'
    These are two options that hopefully can get you started....
    Thanks,
    PH

  • Sending a return value without pass/fail message

    Hi,
    I'm using the COM adapter to talk TestComplete application.
    I have a string value test step to evaluate a return value and determine if it's pass or fail (e.g. return 0 = pass, return 1 = fail).  This works perfectly.
    However, I have added another return value (e.g. return 2), the code executed fine, but it keeps displaying that step as "Failed", which is annoying.  Is there a way to suppress this failed message?
    Basically, here's what I need to do, return 0= display pass, return 1 = display fail, return 2 = display no message or just display done.
    Thanks so much!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The String Value Test step type only evaluates to Passed or Failed.  It does not do a tristate.  In fact any of the step types in the Tests (Pass/Fail Test, Numeric Limit Test, Multiple Numeric Limit Test, String Value Test) will always be pass or fail.  They never evaluate to just done.
    The Status Expression is what makes a step Pass or Fail.  Unfortunately with the default steps you cannot change the Status Expression.  You have to create a custom step type to do that.
    What are you setting your Step.Result.String to?  Or did you change the Data Source?
    Here are 3 options:
    1- Create a custom step based on the String Value Limit test and change the Status Expression such that you get your desired behavior
    2- Use and Action step and change the Status Expression such that you get your desired behavior.
    3- Continue using the step you are using but in the Post-Expression place some logic which turns off the Step.StepFailCausesSequenceFail if you are in return 2 state

    New package or one that used to work? Connecting how? How does it poll?
    On the surface it is an error from a memory space of the binary/non-managed code, so nothing can be really concluded based on what you decided to share with us.

  • Siebel Gateway Name Server Configuration Wizard returns "Execution failed"

    Hi,
    I am installing Siebel 8.1.1.1 on Linux platform and now having problem while trying to configure Siebel Gateway Name Server.
    Steps done:
    1) DB instance prepared
    2) Created Siebel installation image
    3) Installed Siebel server and configured Gateway name server (the wizard started automatically as part of the installation). Skip configuration of Enterprise and SWSE Logical profile
    4) Ran DB Configuration Wizard for the primary language - successfully. Import repository-add language - successfully.
    5) Trying to Wizard "Configure Enterprise" - failed with "Execution failed"
    Here I thought that probably Gateway Nameserver was not configured and decided to remove the Gateway and create it from scratch.
    Unfortunately this time the Gateway configuration failed. Also with message"Execution failed"
    Here are the errors I got in the log files sw_cfg_util*.log

    Just in case anybody bumps in this thread:
    The problem in my case was solved according with Oracle Note "Delete and create the "Siebel Server" via Configuration Wizard on Linux, it failed. [ID 880562.1]"
    Applies to:
    +Siebel CRM - Version: 8.1.1 SIA [21111] and later   [Release: V8 and later ]+
    Linux x86
    Symptoms
    Delete the "Siebel Server" once and then create a new "Siebel Server" via Siebel Server Configuration Wizard on Linux, it failed with message "Execution Failed".
    The error on sw_cfg_util_xx.log is as follows,
    GenericLog GenericError 1 0000ce524a3a1bd2:0 2009-06-19 10:18:33 Executing step: AddSrvrRegistryEntry

    Reproduce steps:
    - confirm that siebel server was created before, and is stopping.
    - create sh env and enter the following command to remove the Siebel Server.
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)+
    +$ . ./cfgenv.sh+
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)/bin+
    +$ ./ssincfgw+
    - select "3 - Remove Existing Configuration".
    - complete the configuration wizard.
    - enter the following command to create the Siebel Server.
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)+
    +$ . ./cfgenv.sh+
    +$ cd $(SiebelServerRoot)/bin+
    +$ ./ssincfgw+
    - select "1 - Create New Configuration".
    - continue inputs to finish and execute the configration.
    +==> you'll find "Execution Failed".+
    Cause
    AddSrvrRegistryEntry section shown in the log is the command for registering the Windows Service, and it is no need to execute on Linux env. However, it is executed and it failied.
    Solution
    You can do either of follows,
    +(1) Uninstall and Install the Siebel Server again.+
    +(2) The section to execute the Windows registeration command is specified on $(SiebelServerRoot)/admin/common.scm, line 2475-2477.+
    +[Step]+
    Name = AddSrvrRegistryEntry
    Type = RunProg %%SiebelRoot%%%%OSDirSeparator%%bin%%OSDirSeparator%%siebctl ' -r %%SiebelRoot%% -q -S siebsrvr -i "%%SiebelEnterprise%%:%%SiebelServer%%" -a -g "-g %%SiebelGateway%% -e %%SiebelEnterprise%% -s %%SiebelServer%% -u %%Username%%" -e %%Password%% '
    So, delete the AddSrvrRegistryEntry section from common.scm, and execute Configuration Wizard again.

  • Execution flow doesn't wait for return values

    I have created JNI wrappers for existing dlls. However I'm getting weird behavior. My Java function calls a c function which communicates with an old mainframe. If I retrieve one row at a time its fine but if I do a loop the virtual machine crashes. Sometimes, if I add an empty loop for (30000 iterations) then its fine. Its like java is already trying to retrieve the next row while the first row is still being printed on my screen. I've tried adding synchronized in case the dlls where multi-threaded but it has not made a difference. Is there any way to control the execution flow so that it can't go to the next line until the values are truly returned from the c dll.
    thanks
    MA

    There are many function being called on the native side. Since I didn't want to modify the native side
    (because the old dlls are used by another application), I added my own dll as an intermediary between the old c dlls and the java side.
    To fix the problem I am having, I've heard of another project where the native side would write the returned values to a file and only once the file is written can the Java side continue. Is this the only way to control the execution flow?
    Right now I have about 5 empty loops which run to 100000 and things work most of the time. But I would prefer to find a way to say wait until the values are returned correctly.
    Essentially, what I'm doing is
    for (int i=1;i<10; i++){
       test.init(Integer.toString(i),Integer.toString(i),"english desc"+  Integer.toString(i),"french desc"+ Integer.toString(i));
       test.execute(test.ActionAdd);
    }This is supposed to add one row with four fields. I'm just putting junk for the test. If I call the two main lines
    test.init(Integer.toString(i),Integer.toString(i),"english desc"+  Integer.toString(i),"french desc"+ Integer.toString(i));
    test.execute(test.ActionAdd);just once it works fine but if I loop them then it crashes after a few loops. If I put a loop as shown below then it works fine. This is part of the code when I'm adding. Is it being looped 10 times from the code above.
    jsession.scanTable(table,errorlist);
                rtc = table.getRecordCount(errorlist);
                if (rtc > 0)
                publish(rtc+" records found.");
                    for(int i = 1; i <= rtc; ++i)
                        for (int j = 0; j < ElementName.size();j++)
                            publish((String)ElementName.get(j)+ ": " + table.getFieldByName((String)ElementName.get(j),i,errorlist));
                            for (int k = 0; k<100000;k++);
                else
                    publish("No records found.");
                }In the code, when the rows are added, I print them out just to make sure they were added correctly. This is where I got the idea that the Java code was not in synch with the native side because it would crash while writting out a line but it didn't happen every time at the same place.
    This is the function getFieldByName
    public String getFieldByName (String p_FieldName, int p_LineNum, ErrorList p_Errors)

                   p_Errors.addMessage(p_Errors.SEV_ERROR(), "Error retrieving field value ("+p_FieldName+")");
              return retval;
        }The main functions are
    GetFieldLen
    GetLineField
    They go to the native side through my dll which wraps the old dlls.
    Here are is one of the main functions in my dll. I also have the source for the functions they are calling but they are calling other functions which are calling other functions. There is a lot of code . Yes, they use arrays.

  • How to get return value from java and read by other application?

    i want to read return value from java and the other application read it.
    for example:
    public class test_return {
        test_return(){
        public int check(){
            return 1;
        public static void main(String args[]){
           new test_return().check();
    }from that class i make as jar file. How to read the return value (1) by other application?
    thx..

    If your installer is requiring some process it invokes to return a particular value on failure, then the installer is seriously broken. There are a bazillion commands your installer could invoke, and any of them could fail, which in turn could invalidate the entire install process, and any of them could return any value on failure. The only value that's consistent (in my experience) is that zero means success and non-zero means failure, with specific non-zero values being different in different programs.
    About the only control you have over the JVM's exit code is that if your main method completes without throwing an exception, the JVM will have an exit code of 0, and if main throws an exception (either explicitly or by not catching one thrown from below), it will be non-zero. I'm not even sure if that's guaranteed, but I would guess that's the case.
    EDIT: I'm kind of full of crap here. If you're writing the Java code, you can call System.exit(whatever). But nonetheless, if your installer requires certain exit codes from any app--java or otherwise--you have a problem.
