Ignore offline fieldpoint node
Hi all,
I have a fieldpoint system with 4 nodes (2 ethernet nodes: cFP-1808's, and 2 Controller nodes: cFP-2120's). I want to be able to start the embedded vi's on each of the controller nodes regardless of the states of the other nodes. The vi's read channels from each of the nodes but if one of the nodes is offline, the vi won't start. I want the vi to start (and just return the default or garbage data for the offline channels). Also, I'm running a shared variable engine on each of the controller nodes so again, if one of the nodes is offline, I would like to still be able to start any vi's that use the shared variables from the offline engine and just return garbage data for that shared variable. So the crux of the problem is that I need to start a vi running no matter what the state of the other nodes are. I have automatic error handling disabled but this still doesn't enable me to start the vi's when a node is offline,
Thanks, Derek.
Hi Galson,
I think the way to do what you are looking for is to write to Network Published Shared Variables on your FieldPoint controllers. Then on other systems you can read these variables, and if there is no new data on the variable, it will simply read the last value it read. There is no way to use a FieldPoint read that is not connected to anything without getting an error.
As far as ensuring that the shared variable will still be available, you can host all of your variables on your local PC. Then, a FieldPoint that is offline will not take the variables offline as well.

Hi,
I am new to BDB development. Here i am working on node traversal using XmlValue class.
I have some of the queries on traversing the nodes using XmlValue class….
Steps followed for the same are as below…
1. Opening the BDB Environment
2. Loading the XML files in to the container(creating the container)
3. Applied the requested Xquery on the container.
4. After applying the Xquery on the container, the result is captured in to XmlResults class which is displayed as string format(as below).
<HCR:hapGeminimmIINodeEntry hapGeminimmIINodeId="1">
<HCR:hapGeminimmIINodeuserName>NULL</HCR:hapGeminimmIINodeuserName>
<HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamTable>
<HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamEntry hapGeminimmIINodeId="1" hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamId="1">
<HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamloggingEnabled>2</HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamloggingEnabled>
</HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamEntry>
</HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamTable>
<HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamTable>
<HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamEntry hapGeminimmIINodeId="1" hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamId="1">
<HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamloggingEnabled>2</HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamloggingEnabled>
<HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamconfigStreamLevel>1</HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamconfigStreamLevel>
<HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamstreamDestination>NULL</HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamstreamDestination>
</HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamEntry>
</HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamTable>
</HCR:hapGeminimmIINodeEntry>
Rest of the code fragment for traversing the nodes are mentioned below…. Ignore the “#text” nodes
Initially the variable “m_resultValue” of type XmlValue is pointing to the node <HCR:hapGeminimmIINodeEntry hapGeminimmIINodeId="1">
XmlResults resultSet; // Result captured after applying the Xquery on the container….
XmlValue m_resultValue;
XmlValue tableValue;
If(resultSet.next(m_resultValue))
m_resultValue = m_resultValue.getFirstChild();
while(!m_resultValue.isNull())
If(The node name ends with Table)
tableValue = m_resultValue; // Here tableValue is pointing to the node <HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamTable>.
tableValue = tableValue.getFirstChild(); // Here tableValue is pointing to the node <HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamEntry hapGeminimmIINodeId="1" hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamId="1">
cout<<” Next Sibling of the node name hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamTable is : “<<tableValue.getParentNode().getNextSibling().getLocalName<<endl; // Here I am expecting the Node Local Name as “hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamTable”. But this is displaying as empty…
m_resultValue = m_resultValue.getNextSibling();
From the above code fragment, I am expecting the output as “hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamTable”. But I am able to see the output as empty. Please let me know any suggestions on the same…
Thanks in Advance,
Regards,
Sravan.Any white space between the element nodes, such as line returns, count as text children and have no local name. Is it possible that tableValue.getParentNode().getNextSibling() is returning the text node between<HCR:hapGeminiblackBoxLogStreamTable> and <HCR:hapGeminicoreFileMgmtLogStreamTable>?

I have created my site navigation and it has four nodes
NODE ONE contains two nodes -> NODE TWO AND NODE THREE
NODE TWO contains one node -> NODE FOUR
NODE ONE is a second level navigation item so the user would click the NODES Tab and see NODE ONE Tab displayed.
In the DTN I would like the user to see only NODE TWO (with expand icon) and NODE THREE I don't want NODE ONE to appear for a third time (as it already appears on the second level navigation and the page title bar. How do I set the Navigation up to ignore the top node?Hi
What the node one, two, three and four is?

"Refresh from [myConnection]" on offline table
hi
Please consider this scenario.
(1) in SQL*Plus, "create table my_table(col_a varchar2(10), col_b varchar2(10));"
(2) in JDeveloper (10.1.3.3.0), drop "my_table" on a database diagram, creating an offline table
(3) in SQL*Plus, "drop table my_table;"
(4) in SQL*Plus, "create table my_table(col_a varchar2(10));"
(5) in JDeveloper on the offline table node "MY_TABLE", select "Refresh from [myConnection]" from the context menu
(6) answer the question "Refreshing the object from myConnection will lose any changes made offline. Are you sure?" with "Yes"
(7) nothing happens, the offline table "MY_TABLE" still has colums "COL_A" and "COL_B"
What am I missing here, why isn't the offline table "refreshed" after step (6)?
many thanks
Jan VerveckenJan,
Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 , I'm getting this error:

Dequeue_time ignored in RAC environment
Hi,
has anybody seen the behaviour, that dequeue_time is ignored, if one node is powered down?
It works, if all nodes are up.The clone.pl script will not push the binaries to the other nodes in the cluster. You will have to restore the Oracle home to all nodes. please see this http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/rac.112/e10718/clonerac.htm#BABEGEFC

Hi,
I have mapped a certain condition to parent node.based on the condition satisified or not the structure has to be created.
right now am getting suppress(grey) that means the structure should not be created but am getting error that check xml instance.the occurance of that parent node is 0...1 even though am getting that error.i should not get error and the structure should not be createdam getting error that check xml instance.the occurance of that parent node is 0...1 even though am getting that error
If the mentioned condition is the only one in your mapping then the condition logic is not getting the required inputs....0..1 occurence should not mean that even condition logic will be ignored in case node does not occur.
What you can do is that first check if the node exists (using Exists) function) and if it exists then proceed with the main logic.
Make sure that when you are testing with the present logic all the required fields (required by the condition) are available no matter what there occurence is!

Abhishek. -
Installing AE CC Render Engine in offline machines
I would like to install the CC ae render engine on two offline render nodes, but I can only find references to installing on online machines. Is there a standalone installer, or some method, to install just the ae render engine?
Thanks.
Julian.I'm having issues trying to get the render engine to work as well with my CC membership. I've placed the empty text file (ae_render_only_node.txt) in the locations indicated by Todd K, but everytime I try to start the render engine it keeps asking me to sign in.
If I sign in is this going to activate on the 2nd machine? (Which I don't want to do) I'm going to have 4 render nodes with the i7-3770k overclocked cpu on each machine.
Also, how can I install a few plugins, like optical flares, on each machine without having to sign in to Adobe?
Thanks! -
I'm running Acrobat 9.4 if that makes any difference. This question was spurred by another discussion on inserting an item into a list. Basically loadXML is erasing the attributes on the reference node. For example, if domNode is a node in the data DOM and newXML is a replica of domNode's XML with some child elements changed and newXML_str is the string representation of newXML, then the statement domNode.loadXML(newXML_str,true,true) eliminates the attributes in domNode. A commenter in the above link states that it happens because the attribute is not stored in the data DOM as an attribute but rather as a child node with prefix '@' but if that were the case it would seem that saveXML should show it as a child element and not as an attribute. However, saveXML (as shown below) correctly shows the attribute as an attribute.
What I would like to happen is to have the child attribute node(s) preserved and the child element nodes replaced. It seems to me that if the second argument is true (ignore root element in xmlArg) then the root element in the data DOM (including attributes) should be unchanged but that is not what happens.
Here is some sample XML:
<docroot>
<contact uid="29033737">
<firstName>George</firstName>
<lastName>Sinkenschneider</lastName>
</contact>
</docroot>
Here's some JavaScript:
var domNode = xfa.resolveNode("xfa.data.docroot.contact.(uid.value=='29033737')");
var domNodeXML_str = domNode.saveXML();
console.println(" contact data node saveXML (domNode) = ".concat(domNodeXML_str));
console.println(" domNode.uid.value=".concat(domNode.uid.value));
var newXML_str = domNodeXML_str.replace("George", "Johnny");
console.println(" newXML_str = ".concat(newXML_str));
domNode.loadXML(newXML_str, true, true);
console.println(" DOM node after executing loadXML(newXML_str, true, true) = ".concat(domNode.saveXML()));
xfa.form.remerge();
Here's the console output from the script (including all the ugly line-feeds):
contact data node saveXML (domNode) = <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<contact uid="29033737"
><firstName
>George</firstName
><lastName
>Sinkenschneider</lastName
></contact
>
domNode.uid.value=29033737
newXML_str = <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<contact uid="29033737"
><firstName
>Johnny</firstName
><lastName
>Sinkenschneider</lastName
></contact
>
DOM node after executing loadXML(newXML_str, true, true) = <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<contact
><firstName
>Johnny</firstName
><lastName
>Sinkenschneider</lastName
></contact
>
Note that the uid attribute is missing from the final DOM node.Looks like you may have found a bug .....If I append the new xml I see that the uid attribute is maintained (oit is not touching the root attribute). If I replace it then it seems that the attribute is ignored when the node is re-written. We will need to open a bug with support ...do you want to do that?

Jcontrol.exe not starting after creating ssl certificate
hi,
Iu00B4ve got a netweaver AS Java (only) 640 SP19. I tried to create a SSL certificate (Test) with visual admin and after importing "getCert" i wanted to restart the SAP-System. The problem is that jcontrol.exe has not been started and stayed grey (status: stopped).

Exchange 2013 Server DR Planning
Recently we migrated from exchange server 2010 to 2013(2Mb, 2CAS) .
Planning to do below steps in DR. Kindly suggest me good practices, if possible share good document for exchange 2013 DR.
1) Mailbox Server (One Node)
2) CAS Server(One Node).
3) Adding this DR mailbox server to DAG.
4) Enabling DAC for DAG.
Is there any steps i missed out...
Kindly suggest me good practices, if possible share good document for exchange 2013 DR with DAC.Agree with Andy dynamic Quorum is enabled by default.
In an odd number of servers File share witness is being ignored it uses "Node majority"
In Windows 2008 if you have 3 members in a DAG and 2 of them fails automatically the 3rd one will be offline because no quorum. But in windows2012 if 2 members fails 3rd one will be still online.
Please refer these as it will answer your question I guess.
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/e4a46b94-e510-42bd-927b-8fa0a912f2e0/dag-file-share-witness-quorum-best-practice?forum=exchangesvravailabilityandisasterrecovery
http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/high-availability-recovery/exchange-2013-dag-dynamic-quorum-part2.html
Below command will prevent automatic failover to DR site. Refer below URL
Set-MailboxServer -Identity EXDR02 -DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy IntrasiteOnly

"But in windows2012 if 2 members fails 3rd one will be still online."
That depends on the failure. If the 2 that fail are in the same datacenter, and the datacenter fails, the
3rd will not be online. Dynamic quorum does not protect against the sudden loss of majority.

Recovering data from a damaged mirrored RAID
I have a puzzle I'm hoping you can help me with: I have a mirrored RAID array in a MD G4 which is not mounting (since going to Apple for replacing the logic board).
I have tried connecting both drives to a Forensic FireWire dock to no avail; they show up as "spare" and not as a "slice".
Any suggestions?
Yours truly,

Is it possible to just put the old SSD in the new laptop then?
Maybe, I just cannot say with authority. Even if they were physically the same, the question is what OSX is on the older SSD. If it is older than the one the new MBP came with, it will not work.

SDM not working after upgrade to SP12
I have just upgraded my Netweaver from SP9 to SP12. After doing the upgrade, SDM no longer runs and attempting to manually start it also fails.
A colleague of mine who also installed SP12 has the same problem.
Any suggestions?
WalterThe SDM isn't crashing.. it just seems to start, and then immediately stop itself.
