Ignored INT signal in SunOS 5.9 64 bits

Hi,
I have and C++ application which managed Ctrl+C user input to free memory and things like that. This application's feature works fine in SunOS 5.8 64 but after moving it to SunOS 5.9 64 bits I'm unable to stop the application by using Ctrl+C (neither with kill -2). I just can use ctrl+z , pass the process to background and kill the background or directly use kill -9 , in both cases I lost the feauteres programmed in the Ctrl+c implementation.
The compiler options I use are -xildoff -DUNIX_64 -mt -pto -KPIC -D_REENTRANT -O5 -D_SVID_GETTOD
After running showrev -p I got the following:
Patch: 109715-05 Obsoletes: Requires: Incompatibles: Packages: SUNWhsip, SUNW
hsipm, SUNWhsipu
Does anybody knows the reason for that?
Thank you very much in advance.

  • How to Ignore  the signal?

    Insert a number if the number of digits of that number is greater than its average return true else false.
    So what i'd like to know , (and btw sorry about the other questions) how can it ignore the signal ?
    e.g: number_aux = 53 -> this will be: Number of digits: 2
    Media = (5 +3) / 2 = 4
    ( 2 < 4 ) then return false. now i'd like to find a way to insert -53 (negative) and the output must be the same (false) ignoring de signal "-"
    here is my code:
    In this code if u inserted a negative ( -6 or -53) the output is always true because e takes in mind the signal . How do i tell him to ignore it?
        System.out.println....
          int number _aux =Integer.parseInt(... ....etc
                                              int sum = 0;
              int count = 0;
              int media;
              while (number_aux != 0){
              int digit = number_aux % 10;
              number_aux  /= 10;
              sum += digit;
              if(number_aux  >= 0) count++;
              media =(int) (sum / count);
              return (count > media);thank you so much.

    I already used my brain LOLO , if new the answer i

    shiver You forgot to add three or more exclamation marks.
    give me a hint , how to ignore the signal without
    that method ( using my code)If I'd give you any number, how would you do it? What would there conditions and formula be? Think about that. Programming isn't magic. It's finding a step-wise solution to a problem and writing it down.

  • Check control signal and write in 1s, ignore control signal for the following 2s.

    I am new to Labview, recently I use DAQ to receive 2 channels, one is expected signal and another one is control signal. If the control signal is higher than threshold (rising edge), write expected data in 1s. Then, ignore the control signal in 2 second. The process is repeated. The attachment is my program but it doesn't work. I use flat sequence to do 2 consecutive tasks but cannot ignore the control signal.

    The last frame and the frame with sourcemeter measurment show adifference of about 140 msec.
    Is there any way to improve the speed of this portion?
    Probably not.  It sounds like the Keithly VI is taking 140 msec.  You can try opening that up to see if there is anything in there that could be causing an unnecessary slowdown.  But trying to tighten it up too much may cause occasional errors (such as timeouts) in trying to get a response back.
    But surprisingly I tried displaying the actual timer value at the start and at the start of sourcemeter read function ..but the display of both indicators is almost equal with little difference of only 10 msec.?????  I'm not sure which of the several timers you are referring to here.  What is the value going into the wait function between the VISA write and the Keithly VI?
    When you do benchmarking, the timer functions should be in a frame all by themselves.  Having it mixed with another function or VI causes a bit of uncertainty as to when the time was taken.  For instance, you dont' really know if the Keithly VI was started before the time was taken or after.  (The time was probably taken first, but without a data flow or sequence structure dependency, you can't be sure.)

    Within shell you can use trap command. For example, to inhibit the usage of Ctrl-C you can start your script with a line like this
    trap ' ' 2
    or, if you want to display some message when Ctrl-C in typed
    trap 'echo <some message>' 2

    I assume your Airport Express is cabled directly to a cable or DSL modem? In that case, if the status light is flashing yellow it mean only ONE thing - your Airport Express is having trouble connecting to your internet service provider. It does NOT have anything to do with interference.
    When this happens - how do you get it working again? Does it just randomly start working again? Or have you never been able to get it working again?

  • Sending POSIX signal to an external subprocess from a java program

    I'm programing in forte for java under linux-mandrake, I've execute an external subprocess with the runtime and Process clases, I need to send the 2 POSIX signal to this external subprocess, I mean de SIGINT signal, I know that you can send a signal from a shell just doing:
    Kill -2 pid // the SIGINT signal is the 2 POSIX signal
    I know that there is another system-call like : kill(int signal, int pid) that any one can send from a c program.
    Althought I don't know how can I get the pid of a suprocess, because I Know that there is the systemcall in c like:
    int getpid() wich gives the pid of the current process, but I need to have the pid of a subprocess not the current one.
    The thing is that I do not know how can I do it from a java program, I mean that to send a signal to a subprocess it will work using system-calls, but I do not know if I can insert system call in a java program, I've been thinking about doing it using a linux script like:
    #!bin/bash
    $a = pidof /home/maude-linux/bin/maude.linux
    # this is the path of the process wich is running
    kill -2 a$
    and the run this script from a java program doing an exec(sh script.bin)
    but by the moment I must be doing something wrong in the script because I find mistake in it, it gives me mistake in the assign sentence , I mean:
    $a = pidof /home/maude-linux/bin/maude.linux
    # this is the path of the process wich is running
    I'm not used to program shell scripts, perhaps I'm doing something wrong, is there something wrong in this sentence?.
    I would aprecciate some help about this, or if somebody have some idea how to do it in java, I repeat I need to send a signal to a external subprocess wich is launched from a java program by the process and runtime clases, and I need to send a SIGINT signal to the subprocess, I hope that some body can give some suggestion or some code explaining the situation

    Are the portions of bash-code verbatim in your post?
    When yes, they look suspicious!
    Instead of
    #!bin/bash
    #!/bin/bash
    would be better.
    $a = pidof /home/maude-linux/bin/maude.linux
    does not look good either.
    If you have command "pidof" telling the pid based on the path name of the executable passed to it as its argument, you can have the output of this program in a shell script like this:
    a=$( pidof /home/maude-linux/bin/maude.linux )
    Then through $a you will refer to the value of the variable "a":
    kill -SIGINT $a
    A pidof script could look like this (apart from error handling):
    ps -ef|awk '{if (NF>=8 && $8=="'"$1"'") print $2;}'
    This works for me; your mileage may vary.

    Our application experiences a segmentation fault and dumps core when executed on machines patched with recent versions of SunOS 5.8 linker patch 109147.

    The problem occurs when the application is compiled with any of several different compiler versions (on SunOS 5.8 machines with or without patch 109147-35):
    CC: Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 C++ 5.3 Patch 111685-18 2003/09/24
    CC: Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 C++ 5.3 Patch 111685-22 2005/04/29
    The problem is not remedied by application of patches 108434-18 and 108435-18, SunOS 5.8 32-Bit and 64-Bit Shared library patches for C++.
    The application cores consistently on SunOS 5.8 patched with only 109147-35, 108434-18, and 108435-18.

    Your problem sounds similar to bug 6283644 "process cores when C++ library patch 111711-09 or above is installed". The bug has been fixed and will soon be available in a SUNWlibC patch (C++ runtime libraries).
    We would need a test case to verify whether your problem is the same as that bug, or to find out what the problem is if it is not due to that bug.
    If you have a Sun Service contract, you should talk to your service representative. If not, and if you can post a test case here, I can tell you more.

  • 4 bytes into one int

    Hi, I have four bytes in my program, I'd add them together somehow so that i have a 32bit string, how can I do this?
    I tried adding them together and storing into an int but when i tried to do bit shifting I got an unexpected result.

    thx
    Edited by: Unconditional on Jan 25, 2008 12:35 PM

    You need to use bit shifting. However, you need to decide whether [0] is the high byte or the low byte (big-endian or little-endian).
    EDIT: Also, "32bit string"? You mean "32-bit int" right?

    Do you? If not, you will have to call support to get them.

  • 15454 Low Output Signal Power

    Having a problem with the Bits timing output on pins A3, B3 and A1,B1 on the back of the Sonnet Shelf. Appears the output signal power of our 15454 is reading 1.30 which is very low.
    Tried changing the LBO setting and it did not make a difference.
    Need to now if there is a way to boost the signal power level up.
    The bits timing ouputs are used to time our Motorola BSR (CMTS) for telephony. The problem the Motorola BSR's are experiencing is when you failover the SRM (CPU) to the Secondary SRM, you loose both timing inputs.

  • Ignore Information at Beginning and end of data file

    I have several thousand data files, each of which contains around 14-16 lines of information such as sampling frequency/channel information at the top, followed by the data in CSV format and ending off with another couple of lines of information. How would I go about filtering out the unwanted information so that just the raw data is left?

    Thanks for the quick reply. I'd have to use the second option, as the number of lines isn't fixed but there are distinguishable characters before and after the file. I'm a complete beginner at this, so you'll have to excuse my ignorance, but if you could give me a bit of guidance as to how to search for the characters and subset the data (as in which vi's I should be using and what input parameters are required), that would be a real help. The last line of unwanted information reads "Data:" and the end of the data is signified by "Amin".
    At the moment, I'm just using the 'Read From Spreadsheet File.vi" to read the whole file with csv set as the delimiter. Thanks a lot in advance!
