Ignoring eventDuplicate events under certain circumstances

Hi All,
I am developing a Photoshop cs2 plugin for powerpc mac. My plugin does some processing when the user tries to duplicate channel. I handle by capturing 'eventDuplicate' in my plugin.
My problem is 'eventDuplicate' is also trigged when user tries to save a selection from the SELECT->SAVE SELECTION menu. I dont want to handle this trigger of 'eventDuplicate'. Is there a way out to find out that this event is coming from the 'SAVE SELECTION' operation?

The first time the applet is run, everything is fine - in the init() method of the applet, no I/O actions are taken.
When the applet is refreshed and the previous file selections are filled in, various I/O calls are made (to check the file exists and is accessible). This happens in the init() method...and causes security exceptions even tho the applet is signed and has the required permissions.
If the I/O access are delayed in the applet until after init() has been called, then everything works normally.
So, the question should become:
Does this mean that the security does not take effect until /after/ init() has been executed in MSIE?? Like I said before, Netscape is fine...

Disable a button under certain circumstances and disable input fields

Scenario: My user receives a PDF (dymanic XML) where they fill in fields and click a Submit button to send the data to the server. They receive a confirmation copy of the form back. In our older version of Livecycle, the confirmation form was locked down - no fields were editable, the Submit button was disabled. We still need the ability to not input/change any data on the confirmation copy and not be able to click the Submit button. Under ES4, everything started out editable.
On the confirmation copy, there are messages that I check. When those messages are present I would like to hide the buttons (optimal solution) or at the very least, disable them so the user cannot resubmit the form again.
I've managed to put Javascript in place to lock down all input fields, I just can't get the script to work to hide the buttons. I'm beginning to wonder if the script to lock down all input fields is causing the scripts to hide the buttons to not work.
Sample code to disable editing of input fields:
- had to provide this code at the table level so that when a table flows to a second page, the fields are locked. When I put it at the page level or top level of the hierarchy, it only worked on the one page when I need it to cover fields that have flowed on to a second page. Even at the table level, there are still some tables that remain open until a change is made, then the fields on the second page become locked.
- when this is entered at the subform level, second page of the subform is modifiable

I think, for what you are trying to do, you must be in the doc:ready to be able to do this.
All because the doc:ready is the last event to be fired when a form is reopen...

Does FP10 try to connect to adobe on being unloaded under certain circumstances?

first time posting here. This is the details:
My company is provider for e-learning contents and a system to present the content to employess of our customers.
Our webapplication utilizes PHP,MySQL hosted on an Apache Webserver.
Some of our content includes 3rd-party flash movies which are made by a designer for us.
Now recently we have a new customer who is running a nuclear power plant. Safety restrictions given, none of the client computers has a connection to the internet but they are all connected via a network inhouse.
All went fine since some days ago where our customer approached us with a problem:
On freshly installed XP SP3 clients with an updated IE to Version 8 and the FP10 IE freezes for about 30-60secs when a content page (pure HTML) with a flash movie on it is left for the next content page.
Older XP SP3 clients with a recently updated IE to Version 8 and FP10 run smoothly though.
After checking the traffic on our server I found out that the browser is sending nothing to the server until the "freeze" is over.
Observing the traffic on the client with wireshark I can see that something tries to contact an URL under adobe.com.
Whenever I remove the flash from the content the next content page is loaded immediately like it should.
I have tried to rebuild a scenario in our office to find the issue but I can not get FP10 to send or try to retrieve anything out of the internet. I tried changing firewalling, pushing servers into a DMZ and out of it. Changed my clients "location" in the network, tried proxies etc., but no - it always works fine for me.
I have not enough experience with Adobe Flash to know those details but my guess is that the problem is not the FP10 but a security setting in the browser and/or XP itself. But for now I can only remove the problem with removing the flash and that's not the way I can go.
So is there a way to "enforce" FP10 to try to retrieve information from another location (e.g. adobe.com) and make the whole thing "freeze" with that?

I have the same problem as you when using flash in my intranet.
I have try everything as you.
My temporary solution is use debug version Flash Player.

The back button is not available under certain circumstances when I use e-mail (looking at links from message) or in Facebook when I look at a link to a friend's status.

I get an e-mail message such as a newsletter that has several links. I look at one of the links and cannot use the back arrow to go back to the main e-mail. Another instance: I am on Facebook and I see a friend's status message that has a link. I look at the link, and I cannot use the back arrow to take me back to the Facebook main page. In both instances, I have to X out (close). I get a message that says "quit and save" or "quit." In either case it takes me out of Mozilla. I have just installed it and don't know if I am doing something wrong. What is happening? I don't want to have to close the program each time and start over again.

I was runnning into a similar problem with my HP product loan Envy Spectre 13 TouchSmart Ultrabook until I did the updates. I had upgraded my wireless router to a model with 802.11AC specification.
Invoke the Device Manager and ensure that the box next to Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power is unchecked.

Firefox crashes, even in safe mode, under certain circumstances.

I'm using up-to-date Ubuntu Linux, other details below.
Firefox crashes, in or out of safe mode, when I do any of the following:
* right click (crashes on-click);
* view flash media (crashes once plugin container opens);
* try to use any of the file/edit etc menus (crashes when i click somewhere in this area);
* open about:tabs or about:config (crashes when i hit enter after typing into url bar);
* when i try to edit anything in about:config (crashes when i right-click);
* open any bookmark from my bookmarks toolbar (on-click).
In case it's related, thunderbird crashes soon after startup, i.e. once the GUI has opened and it starts checking my IMAP folders for mail.
It appears that for most purposes firefox will work indefinitely unless I do something I've mentioned above.
The extensions I run include X-marks and downthemall, but there may be more - I don't appear to be able to check without crashing the program.

Unfortunately the linked crash report is empty (@ EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump) and doesn't include any data, so it is not possible to find the cause of the crash.

Pinned tabs disappear under certain circumstances, without removing them yourself.

This is how to get the problem:
1) Open Firefox
2) Create multiple tabs
3) Pin some, leaving at least two unpinned
4) Move one tab out of the window, creating its own window
5) Close the original window first, then the one you just created
6) Open Firefox again
If you follow the steps correctly you'll notice that the pinned tabs are no longer there.
I find it very frustrating, and this has happened to me way too many times. The tabs should remain there until you actually remove them yourself.
Proposed solutions?:
-When you move a tab out of the current window to put it in its own window, it will also copy the pinned tabs over to the new window.
-Have a spot for the pinned tabs in settings, so no matter what you do, they will come back when you reopen Firefox, and will not go away until you actually unpin them yourself.

Pinned tabs are tied to a specific window and each window can have its own set of pinned tabs.
If you tear off a tab to another window then that is a new window that doesn't inherit pinned tabs, so you would have to recreate them.
If you close a window then you would have to restore that closed window.
Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox and close all open windows at once to avoid losing the window with the pinned tabs.

My moto x doesn't receive pictures from iPhone under certain circumstances (not an end of iPhone use issue)

Since I've had the motox, almost 4 months, I have been unable to receive MMS messaged from any iphone users when they send a text and a picture together.
Messages from the 4s and 5 don't come in (not tested with other versions)
I can view the picture if I download the attachment but can't view as a slideshow or if I forward it to myself.
I've tried clearing the cache, restarting, and deleting the contact on both ends. I do not want to use hangouts

This is not that issue. I receive texts from iPhone users all the the time. This issue is with messages when pictures are coupled with text in the same message. Like this:

Scripts in /etc/profile.d seem not to work under certain circumstances

While already logged in, if I open up a terminal and run a script in /etc/profile.d/ to set environment variables, the changes don't seem to take. I can think of two examples:
1) Turning on KDE4 desktop integration in openoffice. I edited /etc/profile.d/openoffice.sh and changed OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=KDE4, but when I ran the script I got an "export: command not found" error.
2) When replacing Sun Java with OpenJDK in order to compile and use 389-console from the AUR, I got caught up on one of the dependencies, ldapjdk (also from the AUR). The PKGBUILD for this package contains the following block of code:

In theory this should work, as /etc/profile.d/apache-ant.sh contains the following two lines:
export ANT_HOME=/usr/share/java/apache-ant

However, upon running makepkg I got an error about "ant" not being in my path. To get around this I just edited the PKGBUILD and put the full path to ant, but this shouldn't have been necessary. The original PKGBUILD should have worked. I seem to have something out of whack and I don't quite know what. If anyone could be of assistance, it would be much appreciated.

I'm well aware of this. I never said that I started openoffice from the plasma menu. I never even started it. /etc/profile.d/openoffice.sh errored out without setting the environment variable in the current shell session. If it had worked, I would have been able to run openoffice from the terminal to test the new environment variable, which is what I was intending to do in the first place. There's no need to logout to test these sort of changes, they can be done from the terminal.
Your solution also doesn't address the problem I had in example #2, either. makepkg should be able to set environment variables in the current shell session, using the /etc/profile.d script detailed in the example. Running makepkg has nothing to do with my graphical session.
I know that logging out and back in will "fix" the problem, but that's not the point. The point is that a script which should be able to set an environment variable is not working properly.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

Skip product allocation under certain conditions

Hi everyone. We are trying to use EXIT_SAPLQUOT_001 which is supposed to be running prior to product allocation, so we can set up parameter E_AFLAG so that this functionality is skipped under certain conditions.
Exit documentation says:
User Exit: SD Product Allocation, Enhanced Checks
Functionality
The user exit is called up before reviewing the confirmed quantities against discrete allocations (from 3.0F).
Before this happens, the availibilty check is carried out if this is switched on in Customizing (ATP or against pre-planning). The results of this are transferred to product allocation.
You can carry out the following tasks with this function module:
1. You can switch off or miss out product allocation (E_AFLAG). This can be general or depending on characteristic values. Other values to help make this decision can be imported from the order coding memory.
However, the exit doesn't seem to be triggered during sales order processing. It takes us straight into the product allocation screen, ignoring the breakpoint and the skipping instruction.
Any ideas? Anybody is using this exit for this purpose? We run product allocation without running ATP. Could this be the problem?

sounds like this the problem.
as I understand,
if running ATP, EXIT_SAPLQUOT_001 is hit, based on your logic, prod alloc is skipped.
elseif ATP is turned off, EXIT_SAPLQUOT_001 is skipped, by default prd alloc is executed.
try setup break points on prod. alloc to see if you could have alternative flag to control...
go to debug mode and check call stacks to find another place to set break point.

It sounds like there are a couple things going on here. First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance. Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error. If you get an error, post the error message your hitting. If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect. If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog. Ex: "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name. However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format. Ex: COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install. Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

Displaying negative numbers under certain conditions

I have a Crystal Report which I am developing and need to display positive numbers as negative, but only under certain conditions. I did not see anything on this type of questions so I decided to join and post it up myself. This is a transfer report so if the location number entered in the parameter list is the SHIPPING location, I need to display retail, cost, and totals as negative. Here is the formula which I came up with for ext cost, but it is returning all zeros. I cannot seperate the to and from locations in the parameters because this report needs to display both in and out of that location.
if totext({?loc}) = totext({Command.SHIP_FROM}) then ({Command.EXT_COST}*-1)
Any suggestions? Appreciate the help!

If it returns zeroes, then it means that this part of the code fails:
totext({?loc}) = totext({Command.SHIP_FROM})
Do you have records where the value entered in the 'loc' prompt matches with records in the SHIP_FROM column on the report?
See if this helps:

I purchased my Iphone 4 outright, without a contract from the Japanese Carrier Softbank. That means I paid the entire price upfront. They refuse to unlock the Iphone under any circumstances, despite the fact I am no longer in Japan.
Can Apple help me? I've checked out some unlocking services online, but the price seems a bit too high.

No, Apple cannot help. Only the network to which the phone is locked can unlock it (if they choose to).
Nobody else can legitimately unlock it. Other services that claim to offer unlocks are hacks, void the warranty and prevent you from updating the phone OS in the future.
