I might make a wild guess that you are using WORD and have used hard page breaks. If that is the case, then likely what happens is when you print to PDF the document is being reflowed to match the printer and the forced page break may end up on the next page and be forcing a second page. Just a guess.

PDFMaker Office 2010 fails while creating the PDF

I have a Window 7 laptopn with Office 2010 Adobe Acrobat 8.2.5. Slect create PDF button on tool bar and process starts but hangs while "onverting to PDF". Error occurs in MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint. System has worked fine up unitl a week ago. PDF creation in MS IE 8 have never worked but the Office suite ahs always worked.
Tried rebooting, disbaling and reenabling the PDFMaker ADD-IN in office, downloaded alll the lated Adobe updates.
Anyone any suggestions ?

I've been trying to figure out how to create a ghost text in the fields where people need to fill in information. The Ghost text is an example of what employees would need to input. How do I do that? Is it even possible?

Why does white paper when scanned while creating a PDF show and print as grey?

When I scan a document to create a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat Pro X, the original document which is a white piece of paper with color text and/or images comes out as a grey piece of paper with color text and/or images. I've tried the Autodetect Color Mode, Color Document, and Color Image modes and they all have the same results.
What settings if any have to be changed?

Thanks for your input Bill. I've checked the preferences and "view large images" is turned on. It's not all of the images which are missing, only certain ones do not transfer over to PDF.

Acrobat hangs while creating merged PDF in acrobat 9.0

Hello, We are facing issue with Acrobat 9.0 while combining MS office docs with PDF ( option of Merge files into single pdf). Whenever we combine word or excel docs with pdf, Acrobat hangs. Acrobat has to be terminated to clear the session.
The option of combine files was working fine in our environment. ( combining office files into PDF )
Would appreciate any sort help with this issue.

I think this is related to this other problem: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/567165?tstart=-1 . This has appeared with current releases of Acrobat, Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader. Adobe seems unresponsive. We started seeing it this week in conjunction with Excelsius 4.5. I have both Acrobat Pro 9.3 and Acrobat Reader 8 on my PC. While creating pdf from html, the alignment is not proper

In my application, I am creating a pdf report from html using (using Generate pdf 1.1 - HTML URL To PDF activity) which contains certain images and descriptions.
But, while generating pdf the alignment is not proper. In the HTML there is no paging, but in the output pdf the image div is getting broken when new pages are generated.
Some blank areas are coming the report.
Actually I need an exact replica of the HTML as a pdf, with paging.

Error while creating PDF object

We are using Adobe Interactive Forms with Guided Procedures. Netweaver 7.0 SP14 (Dual stack Java & Abap). All was working well it appears until we configured SSL for ADS - don't know for sure if this caused the problem but it is the only change we can identify around the time that our problems began.
When we attempt to Create an Impersonalized Form we receive the following error -
Cannot retrieve template structure: Execution ended in an unrecognized state
When we attempt to test a callable object associated with an interactive form we receive -
Error while creating PDF object: PDF object could not be created; object returned from ADS is null.
In both cases the entries in the default trace log are the same -

Joe,
If you originally configured ADS without SSL, I would recommend going back through the ADS Configuration Guide for your NetWeaver stack and make sure all the necessary changes for SSL were made. I've seen another case where a step was missed in SSL configuration for ADS which caused a form to error.
If everything looks good based on your SSL configuration, I would recommend creating an OSS Note.

It seems your Adobe configuration is not correct. Please use SAP note 944221 for troubleshooting.

I am also facing similar problem.My system is unicode enabled and i am using the device type I8SWIN and courier font .
But still i am getting junk characters for Hebrew characters in PDF.
Can any one suggest me what is the exact device type we have to use for unicode enabled system and also for non unicode enalbled system.

Scrollbar appearing while creating pdf using AlivePDF

I am facing a problem while creating pdf using AlivePDF.
I have a VBox on which I am adding multiple pages. If the content overflows it shows scrollbar. All this is working fine.

The document is based on some tables (it's a pricelist for our products), there are also some links to some .eps files (which are correctly displayed on screen, so the path is correct).

The file (or better the book made of about fifteen FM files) was created by someone else, on another PC. When I open it, I get the error. When I send my files to another person, he can create pdf files without any problem.

Batch create multiple pdf's while using epilogue.ps for setting initial view and opening bookmarks

I'm trying to batch create multiple pdf's from word files, and use the epilogue.ps file for setting the initial view and opening the bookmarks panel, but i keep getting no satisfying result.. i'm probably missing something fundamental.
I've read some forum posts and adobe help posts explaining this, so i'm pretty sure this would be possible?

i've searched for and found a way to overwite the epilogue.ps file and have inserted the following:

After that i checked my Adobe Acrobat preferences, and in the categorie 'Convert to Pdf' i selected 'Microsoft office word' in the select area 'Converting to pdf'.
Clicked 'Edit settings' to allow creating a joboptions file (field: 'adobe pdf settings') which has the option 'Use epiloque.ps and prologue.ps' checked in the advanced section.
So now i thought i would have everyting setup to create my pdf's, however, my view isn't changed to fit, nor are there any bookmarks or in this case thumbs (i used /useThumbs) visible.
Did i miss something obvious? Is there a better way to test this? Any help would be appreciated!

Creating a PDF while maintaining same layout

I've created a label for a client for her to print via a PDF. It is 10 labels per page (Avery product). I can print just fine directly from Illustrator. But creating a PDF for her to print changes the layout, and the labels no longer print exactly on her labels. What do I change to retain the same margins, etc.?

On a hunch, try this. In Ai with the original file open > do a command Y ( this will show you the artwork and elements in "outline" mode ) > Command A ( select all ). You might see a hidden element that is forcing the artboard to read larger than it actually is. If there are any hidden elements on or outside the artboard, delete them. My "locked" holding line will not be affected because you will not be able to select it. Hope this helps.
Should everything look the way it should, hit the command Y keys again to bring back the preview.
