Illustrator CS classes not known

Some of Illustrators AppleScript classes are not known in ScriptEditor, e.g. layer. The following results in a syntax error:
tell application "Illustrator CS"
open file "Space:Users:bernhard:Documents:Test.ai"
name of layer 1 of document 1
end tell
The reason is that "layer" is not recognised as an Illustrator class. The following works:
tell application "Illustrator CS"
open file "Space:Users:bernhard:Documents:Test.ai"
name of «class caLY» 1 of document 1
end tell
The same thing also applies to other classes.
GIF export options does not work, «class cGIF» does.
So what is the reason for this? I did not find anything on the Internet about this problem. So any help is greatly appreciated.

Dual 2.5 GHz G5, nVIDIA GeForce 6800   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

The following code, as well as your - initial code, works correctly with 'Script Editor' v. 2.0 (43) and v. 2.1.1 (81).
tell application "Adobe Illustrator" -- Which is 'Adobe Illustrator CS2'.
open file "HD3:Users:dev:Desktop:Test.ai"
tell document 1
repeat with i from 1 to (count layers)
display dialog (name of layer i) as string
end repeat
end tell
end tell
Here, 'tell application "Illustrator CS"' resolves to 'tell application "Adobe Illustrator"'.

  • PP_ORDER Archive Class AR_GPD to be registered is not known

    Hi Experts,
    I am doing PP_ORDER archiving,but i am getting this error log,
    Job started
    Step 001 started (program PPARCHA1, variant PP_ARCH, user ID VEEMA)
    Archiving session 000009 is being created
    Class AR_GPD to be registered is not known
    Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
    i think,need to create AR_GPD class in ACLV,for that i need Structure and Standard package Name...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Veera.

    Summary
    Symptom
    You are on SAP ECC 6.0 or ECC 7.0 (ERP2005 or ERP 2007). You don't use the industry solution GPD ('Grouping, Pegging, Distribution'). When you try to archive the object PP_ORDER or MM_EKKO, the pre-processing job completes fine, but the write job fails with the error: "Class AR_GPD to be registered is not known".
    Other terms
    archiving RM06EW47 WRONG_ACCESS_TO_ARCHIVE PP order delete
    Reason and Prerequisites
    The reason is missing customizing entries.
    Solution
    Please make the following changes in customizing/configuration:
    [1] Transaction ACLA:
    You need to add a new entry as follows:
    Class    Description                    Function Group
    AR_GPD    GPD Object Archive Class        AGPD
    [2] For this archiving class, you need to define the "Tables to be Archived" as follows:
    Structure        Do not delete
    PEG_TACTASS       check
    PEG_TASS          check
    PEG_TSTK          check
    [3] For the archiving class, define "tables from Which You Only Delete Entries:
    Tab. name
    PEG_TACTASS
    PEG_TASS
    PEG_TSTK
    [4] Transaction ACLA:
    Class P_ORDER -> Archiving classes used: include AR_GPD.
    [5] Transaction AOBJ:
    Archiving object MM_EKKO: Archiving classes Used -> AR_GPD
    Archiving object PP_ORDER: Archiving classes Used -> P_ORDER

  • Invoke not known method in not known class.

    Everybody,
    I am confusing about loading, invoking a little-known class, method. 'Little-known' means, when
    designing we don't know the existence of that class, method. The application'll know names of
    class, method which are inputted by user (Those classes exist when the user input).
    For example: look at 'Little-known' class: FutureClass. It has method notKnownMethod as below
    package notnow
    public class FutureClass extends now.KnownClass {
      public void notKnownMethod() {
    }and the application main class MainApp.
      public class MainApp {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
          // these variable will be inputted by users
          // this is what we not known
          String className = "notnow.FutureClass";
          String methodName = "notKnownMethod";
          try {
            // create instance of the class
            // use the name inputted bye user
            Class futureClass = Class.forName("notnow.FutureClass");
            // get method in that class
            Method futureMethod = futureClass.getMethod("notKnownMethod", null);
            // and then invoke it -- Error dialog appears:
            // Prompt:  "Java Virtual Machine Launcher"
            // Content: "Fatal excption occurred. Program will exit"
            // with exception throw: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: object is not an instance of
            // declaring class. Point to next row.
            futureMethod.invoke(new now.KnownClass(), null);
            //futureMethod.invoke(new notnow.FutureClass(), null); -- No Error
            // but we don't know name of the class till user input it.
          }catch (Exception e) {}
      }You may think it's reflection, but reflection uses the known object in the invoke method(like the tutorial http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/reflect/object/invoke.html ). So how to invoke a method of a class known in the future (bussiness rule or update) ?
    Please help me out of this problem.
    Thanks for advance
    Liwh

    Take a closer look at the tutorial.
    To use a non-static method from the class, you must have an instance of the class. That means either calling one of the class' constructors or using the newInstance method to invoke the default no-args constructor.
    Object instance = futureClass.newInstance();
    futureMethod.invoke(instance, null);I will let you play with calling methods whose argument list you don't know...
    And if you know all you FutureClasses will extend a particular CurrentClass, make CurrentClass abstract with a few abstract methods that you would use in FutureClass... It will make life a lot easier:
    public abstract class CurrentClass {
      //All the other stuff
      public abstract void runPrimaryMethod();
    //Then in FutureClass
    public class FutureClass extends CurrentClass {
      //Other Stuff
      public void notKnownMethod () {
        //Stuff
      public void runPrimaryMethod() {
        notKnownMethod();
    //Then in main body
        CurrentClass instance = (CurrentClass)futureClas.newInstance();
        instance.runPrimaryMethid();Interfaces are also good for this.

  • Class not found in web-inf/classes folder of war file within ear file

    Hi all,
              I am using Weblogic 8.1 sp4. I have a war file within an ear file. I am trying to deploy the war file with a few classes within its web-inf/classes folder, however when the classes are in that folder I consistently get a class not found exception when trying to instantiate them. If I package the classes in a jar file and then put that jar file within the web-inf/lib folder of the war, the classes are also not found.
              If I put these two classes in the app-inf/classes folder of the ear file, everything works as expected and the classes are found.
              Any ideas of why this is happening. This seems to be a very simple thing that should work, but appears to not be working at all.
              thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas.

    Hi,
              This is a known limitation/issue with WL. There is also no way around this.

  • Class not found. Or: THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS APPLETS

    Okay, the problem Im having seems to be somewhat widespread judging from the forum achieves, but I wasnt able to find any answers that worked for me. So forgive me if Im treading old ground, but asking explicitly is my one last attempt to learn whats going on.
    The problem is the load: class <someclass.class> not found gray screen whenever I try to view an applet. Now, looking around online, there are a few applets that Ive been able to access, and many I havent; Im not certain what causes some to work fine and others to gray screen, but there doesnt seem to be a pattern to it other than the fact that if I can or cant view one applet at a site, the same is generally true for all the other applets there as well.
    Now, as for local applets on my computer, I cant view any of them. Not examples that come with the SDK, none that Ive compiled myself, and none that Ive downloaded. Needless to say, in my exasperation Ive run through every possible permutation of html code for class and classpath and so on trying to modify code into working, but to no avail.
    Now, in the appletviewer, and in an IDE called RealJ, I can run applets just fine. Its just those embedded in web pages that seem to give me trouble.
    Ive uninstalled and reinstalled j2sdk 1.4.1. Im running IE 6.0. Windows 98SE. In my Internet options, I have under Java (Sun) the Use Java 2 v1.4.1 for applet box checked, and under Java VM the Java console enabled and JIT Compiler boxes checked, though I have also gone through every permutation possible here, again, to no avail.
    Any idea what I can change so that I can start running applets with ease?
    Thanks in advance, I desperately appreciate whatever suggestions you can give.
    Travis

    gray screen whenever I try to view an applet.
    Now, looking around online, there are a few applets
    that Ive been able to access, and many I havent; Basically it is partly your browser and partly the version of the jdk /sdk that you are viewing. Generally, IE does not support swing ie JApplet, JButton, JTextArea etc... which is a shame cos it has some pretty neat features - I particularly like the flexibility with textfields and textAreas - and my favourite: imageIcon, allows you to have the sexiest looking buttons in the known universe. For reasons like this, people who like to write Applets like to use swing ... and people who like Sun don't like windoze and IE and the like (and they definitely hate each other). So, if you change your browser to Netscape or Opera - you will see swinging applets galore.
    Shame really on a practical level, as the last survey I saw gave IE a 85 - 90 % share of the browser market. A bigger shame, when it seems to be deliberate that m-$oft do not include the latest JVM in their browser, yet they have the latest Flash plug-in. Both are in fact a good idea.
    Any idea what I can change so that I can start running
    applets with ease? Don't use swing and get a copy of something like jdk1.1.5 or even 1.1.2, if it compiles OK with this then it should be OK, keep it simple - as applets download on the client-side and can be unreliable and erratic so try and avoid images. Generally though Applets are a little bit out of vogue at the moment.

  • Dynamic SMTP Port Error -Class not Registered

    Hi,BizTalk receiving the Invoice Message from Source and doing some transformation.After that Biztalk will send  email  dynamically via SMTP .Below is the code in message construct message assignment shape

    After googling ,I have added
    multipartMessage1 (SMTP.EmailBodyTextCharset) = "UTF-8".but no use.
    I’ve spent many hours on this issue .Please advise how to resolve this issue

    Hi Singam,
    What is the default handler(host) configured for SMTP Adapter. Check it is 32 bit or 64 bit.
    This seems to be a known issue if Host is of 64 bit.
    Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {254B4003-2AA7-4C82-BB2E-18BA7F22DCD2} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).
    When you use BizTalk in 64 bit version, and the Mime/Smime encoder you’ve got this error. To resolveit, just put your pipeline on a 32 bit Host.
    Mime/SMIME encoder error :
    Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0×80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/7204.biztalk-server-list-of-errors-and-warnings-causes-and-solutions.aspx
    As you are using Dynamic Send Port it will run under the default host make it of 32 bit, restart the host and see if the issue is resolved or not.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

  • Excel Viewer: Class not registered (error -2147221164)

    Hello,
    I am using the Excel examples shipped with Labview 8.21 to read from an Excel file and this works well. Now I need to do the same but on a PC that does not have Microsoft Office or Excel installed but only the free XLVIEWER (Microsoft Office Excel Viewer). When I try to change the ActiveX class of my reference to feed the 'Automation Open' vi I get the Class not registered (error -2147221164) although I can browse down to the XLVIEWER.exe and select it. Then I thought that maybe XLVIEWER had no ActiveX to communicate with other application; I thus installed a package called excelocx.exe, rebooted the PC but that did not change anything. I am still stuck with the same error.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks a lot,
    Christophe

    Please find attached the VI I am using together with the XLS file that I try to read with Labview on a Pc that does not have MS Excel installed, only the XLVIEWER.
    OpenOffice is not supported in our company so cannot be considered as a valid solution.
    Thanks,
    Christophe

  • For weeks I have been viewing a doggy day care via their web cam.  This weekend I upgraded to Lion and have been unable to view the center since.  I get an error message for java webcam class not found.  All of my software is up to date--suggestions?

    For weeks I have been viewing a doggy day care center via their web cam.  This weekend I upgraded to Lion and have been unable to view the center.  I get an error message for Java plug-in 1.6.0_29 ....webcam class not found.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Sorry, don't know what else to suggest unless there's a URL to the problem stream that someone here can try. Otherwise we can't test it to try and determine what might be wrong.
    BTW, make sure they're testing it with a Mac, not with a Windows system. If they test only with Windows, what they say is or is not working doesn't mean much.
    Regards.

  • Error occured at Class not registered... Because Excel is not installed?

    I received the following error while trying to run an application built with LV 7.1:
    Error -2147221164 occured at Class not registered in Open_Excel.vi > Report_generation_excel_Tbeta WITH new layout.vi > Mirror_Cycling_Main tbeta-2.vi
    Could this be because Excel is not yet installed on the computer?  Will there be a problem if Excel is installed after the 7.1 Runtime Engine and LabVIEW drivers?
    Also, should I stay away from installing higher versions of Excel than what was originally used?
    Would it be possible to create a VI like this with the base version of 8.2?  I'm not certain what some of the controls on the front panel are and 7.1 does not give me additional information in the help dialog- if someone could give me the names of the various components circled in red in the attached JPG I would appreciate it.
    Thanks,

  • Class Not Registered error upon using MS Office Report

    Hello,
    Using LabVIEW 2010, I've just installed the Microsoft RGT trial from NI, along with the Office 2010 trial from Microsoft. Upon trying to drag the MS Office Report VI to my block diagram, the configuration dialog appears but immediately an error dialog shows up over top, with a Class Not Registered error. Attached is the screenshot. If I close the error and try to configure the VI for a basic Excel report, I get a file-not-found error in reference to the Excel template, which I have verified is indeed at the target path and opens with my version of Excel just fine. Any ideas how to get past this error?

    Hello,
    It sounds like you have to reinstall the RGT. Have a look at this documentation.

  • Class Not Found in Server Application

    Arith.java (implements the Remote interface)
    ArithImpl.java (implements Arith.java the server) and

    All of these are in the same package. I have compiled all of these files and I execute the rmic ArithImpl command from within the ArithImpl.java file via Runtime.getRuntime.exec(...);

  • "Java Class not found in classpath" Error in DESIGNER

    Hello All,
    I'm trying to connect in Designer using a JDBC connection to MS SQL Server 2008.  As per the instructions, I updated my jdbc.sbo file with the path to the existing two JAR files.  However, I still get the following error when I try and connect in Designer:  "Java Class not found in classpath : C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\jdbc\Drivers\sqlsrv".  Of course, this error includes the drive path with the location to my JAR files.  Any help in resolving this nagging issue is very GREATLY appreciated.  Also, if anyone needs it I can post a copy of the jdbc.sbo file to this thread.
    Thank you,
    Pankaj

    Stratos,
    Your suggestion didn't help.  I tried to connect after restarting my machine and I still get the error.  And, I've also tried adding a connection to MS SQL Server 2005 using this JDBC driver, and that didn't help either.  Any other suggestions?  Would it help to see my "jdbc.sbo" file?  Thanks again for your and everyone else's help, and I look forward to your reply.
    Regards,
    Pankaj

  • Lookout 6.0.1.: Class Not Found when trying to open project on another PC

    I am using the same version on both PC's, but when I move the file over and run it, I get "Class not found!". Then "Error running process file".When running the lookout source file I get the following:
    Lookout Process File Compiler Version 6.0.1 (build 1)

    C:\Documents and Settings\testing\Desktop\Latest Lookout\lprocess2.lks(676): error: Object is not defined: Meter4
    I have also tried to open on 6.1 with similar results.
    I am familiar with lookout, however I have taken this project over so I am not sure what I need to do from here.

    There are two object (DirectLogic and Meter) that are not present on the amchine you are moving the process to.   If the same version of Lookout, you might be able to just copy the cbx files.
