ILM for 11i or R12 Implementation

Is there a package that will seed ILM with entities based upon 11i or R12 entities and the built in purge processes?
Thanks,
Jason

    Hi,
Does any one have any document on best practices on DISK Layout for E-business suite 11i or R12 in SAN enviornment?
    My thoughts are :
    Mount point 1 =Oracle Binary
    Mount point 2 =Data files
    Mount point 2 =Index files
    Mount point 2 =Archived logs
    Please suggest

On our HPUX node, we have each environment (PROD, TEST, DEV) on it's own separate mountpoint. Each mountpoint is a separate LUN (Vdisk) on our SAN (an HP EVA4400). No performance issues at all. Our Windows nodes runs Apache and forms, and that is on the internal disks on the windows machine itself. Hope this helps.

  • Hardware Requirement  for APPS 11I and R12

    Hello experts,
i want to purchase new laptop for practice oracle 11i or r12.
please suggest me what should harware requirement, mainly processor and operating system.
as i want to buy I3 processor with window 7 4 gb ram. 500 gb hard disc.
but my frnd told me that apps do not work with window7.
    thanks

I would not recommend installing 11i at this time and your choice would be R12 (12.1.1) -- You may upgrade to 12.1.3 later if you want.
For the hardware specifications, please make sure you have at leave 8 GB RAM.
For the disk space, the total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 85 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 233 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database. For the stage area directory (where you will run the installer from), you need at least 47 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.

  • 11i to r12 Conversion - help needed

    Hi
My client is doing re-implementation of r12 and migrating from 11i to r12. I need help particularly on conversions side. The client is a SaaS company. they are considering to bring open and history transactions and applied/unapplied receipts to r12 AR.
    - how to migrate revenue scheduled open/closed invoices from 11i to r12 since rev schedules for a SaaS company is expected to be long terms. and how to make sure that rev schedules are correct upon migration to r12??
    - for partially paid invoices how to make sure that the same partially paid amount reflects in r12 upon conversion? can a negative line amount equalling to paid amount be a possible solution??
    - upon migration do the closed invoices have to be converted as open and receipts re-applied after migration in r12 or they can be brought in as-is with status closed?
    - if customer paid for an invoice using a credit card in 11i and upon migration it came to notice that the credit card is no longer used by the customer so how to re-apply the same receipt in r12 which was applied in 11i using that credit card. do we have to enable it in r12 just for closing the invoice? what could be possibilities?
please anyone if can answer would be very helpful
    Thanks

It depends on the dpi. Usually 72dpi = 72 pixels per inch.
    1000/72 = 13,88888 inch
    1 inch = 25,4 mm
    13,88888 * 25,4 = 352,7777 mm
You do the arithmatic with a calculator.
To do the same with pictures, you can do it in any image editor. Even Preview.app :

Budgeting And Forecasting Enhancements Enhanced Automatic Calculation and Derivation Logic
For plan lines that do not have a specified a quantity, the amount is no longer copied to the quantity field with the rate value set to 1.
Rate now has a lower precedence than quantity and amount in automatic calculations.  The rate will be re-derived when the quantity, rate and amount are entered at the same time for a plan line.
When the burden multiplier is overridden by updates to the raw cost or burden cost, subsequent calculations of the burden cost will use the override burden multiplier.  The same is true when the markup percent is updated by changes to plan line components:  the override markup percentage will be used in revenue calculations.
Enhanced Handling of Override Rates on Budget / Forecast Lines
Override rates for a planning transaction on Edit Budget and Edit Forecast pages.

A new “Pay when Paid” payment term for subcontracts automatically places holds on all subcontractor invoices under that subcontract until the corresponding customer payment is received.
Subcontract Payment Controls workbench allows project manager to manage the holds, with visibility into both the customer invoices and the related subcontractor invoices.
Workflow notifications about the receipt of the customer payment allow the project manager to automatically or manually release the subcontract invoice.
Associations between the customer invoices and the subcontractor invoices may be automatically maintained based on the billing of project expenditures for cost-plus contracts, or may be manually maintained for fixed price contracts.
    Payment Controls for Subcontract Deliverables
Support for the tracking and monitoring of subcontract deliverables that place automatic holds on subcontractor invoices in the case of noncompliance.
Oracle Procurement Contracts allow a subcontract administrator to specify payment impact controls that will take effect when a subcontract deliverable is not met.
From the Subcontractor Payment Controls workbench, the project manager can view a checklist of the all the current subcontract deliverables, to assist in evaluating the subcontractor status prior to releasing monthly progress payments.
Oracle Project Resource ManagementResource Search Enhancements
    Resource Search by Email Address
    Resource Search by Person Type
    Streamlined Navigation on Staffing Home
Cross Validation of Project and Assignment Dates
Requirement start dates are equal to or greater than the project start date and less than the project end date and that finish dates are equal to or less than the project end date but greater than the project start date.
Assignments cannot be added beyond the project end date.
A project team role end date cannot be beyond the project end date. If the roles are created before the project end dates are entered, users will receive an error if they later try to enter an end date that is earlier than the end date for existing roles.
When project transaction dates are moved corresponding assignment dates are validated against the new project dates. If the new project transaction dates fall outside the dates for existing assignments, users are given an option to shift the assignment dates or cancel the date adjustment.

    Organization Authority: Obsolete Forecast Authority
Removes the forecast authority functionality from the organization authority form
Removes existing security data relating to forecast authority.
Replaces the PJR forecast functionality with the new HTML based forecasting functionality. The new forecasting functionality has its own security mechanism and does not honor the old forecast authority model.
Improves the performance of security calls to organization authority because the existing security data is being removed.

  • Issue with Supplier site descriptive flex field upgrade from 11i to R12

We ran into some issue when upgrade Supplier site descriptive flex field from 11i to R12.
In 11i. we defined descriptive field on JG_PO_VENDOR_SITES. in the segment definition, we defined one of the attributes default value based on Form Field Value, and the statement is like this:
SELECT decode(:SITE.COUNTRY,'IT','AP ITALIAN TRANSACTIONS','AP AUTOFATTURA') FROM dual
All above worked fine in 11i, whenever the flexfield field is open in forms, the default valuse shows based on the real-time value in :SITE.COUNTRY.
In R12, Supplier site management is in HTML format. There is no forms, which means no form value. Do you have an alternative soluction for implement the same logic in R12?
    Thank you and regards,
    Kate

  • Backup procedure using RMAN for 11i Instance

    Hi,
    we have 11.5.10.2 instance
    Node 1 = Application Tier ( 11.5.10.2)
    Node 2 = DB Tier ( 9.2.0.7)
as of now, we are taking daily cold backup of both instances.
we want to implement RMAN online backup for DB and take cold backup every week end only.
so, what are the best procedures for implementing RMAN for 11i Database.
Please share your experience, if you have anybody implemented?
which one you prefer in RMAN backup ( backupsets or copy option or backupsets with compressed option) interms of performance.. our db size is 60 GB only.
we apply apps tier patches very rarely . so we want to take RMAN online backup for DB daily and take cold backup for entire apps and db in the week ends.

    Hi,
This time, i am going to implement for Oracle 11i Database. thats why, i need you guys advice regarding 11i Database.Well, the same is applicable to 11i/R12 databases. You just need to configure RMAN the same way you configure it on any standalone database.
If you have implemented any where RMAN, can you share, how you are taking RMAN backup? I can share the scripts we use for backup using RMAN. If you are interested, let me know and I shall send it by email.
if we want to clone, are you cloning the TEST instance with RMAN backup or using cold backup. We use both, depends on the time frame of the cloning task and whether it is possible to use cold backup for cloning or not.
Please have a look at the following notes, it should be helpful.

  • Differences between OA 11i and R12 on User Management

    Hi All,
Please give some details about differences between OA 11i and R12 on User Management (Role Responsibilities and Role Based Access Control, etc).
Please advise me on this regard.
Moreover,I don't have any Metalink username and Password.
    Thanks

New features introduced for User Management (UMX) in R12
The following are the new features introduced in R12 for User Management (UMX):
    1)Proxy User:
    This new functionality:
    · Provides the delegator the ability to grant/revoke the proxy privilege to individuals
    · Provide a mechanism throughout the application’s framework where the user can access the proxy switcher feature
    · Provide a mechanism throughout the application’s framework which indicates to the user that they are acting as a proxy
    · Provide the ability to track the delegate’s actions within the system, while the delegate is acting on behalf of the delegator (Audit)
    Benefits of Proxy User:
Ability to delegate proxy authority provides great security controls and Granular control of proxy authority is provided i.e delegate authority can be specified for date ranges
    2) ICM (Separation of Duties – SoD) Integration
Oracle User Management is integrated with Oracle Internal Controls Manager (ICM) for the prevention, detection, enforcement, and resolution of separation-of-duties constraints during the assignment of roles by administrators to users.
For example, a constraint (created using a set of ICM UIs) can be defined such that no user is allowed to have "Role A" and "Role B" at the same time. In such a case, anadministrator attempting to assign Role B to a user who already has Role A will be presented with a dialog page displaying the constraint violation information.
At this point, the administrator can take one of two actions:
    • Go back to the role assignment page and remove the assignment that is causing the
    violation.
    • Override the constraint violation, if he has the "AMW: Allow SOD Violation
    Override" permission granted to him.
With this permission, the administrator will see Apply and Cancel buttons on the constraint violation dialog page. Clicking Apply will override the constraint, and assign Role B to the user despite the warning. Clicking Cancel will cancel the save operation without granting Role B to the user.
UMX integration with ICM is enabled according to the setting of site-level profile option "UMX: Enable ICM Validation". The default value is "Yes".
    3) Enhanced Forget Username/Password Functionality
Forgot Username Functionality is Introduced in R12 along with Forgot Password. So now Users can query on either lost “username” or lost “password” Users should enter email address if lost username and enter username if lost password
Users can now aslo reset username as part of email address verification instead of a two step process.
4)New Registration Process Type for Administrator Role Assignment
New Registration Process Type is introduced for type “Administrator Assisted Additional Access”
Different policies (registration processes) can be used as administrative actions vs. self service requests for
    · Approval Routing
    · UI
    · Notifications
    · Business Logic
Simpler registration processes can be created for self-service and administrator flavors
Support for alternative approvals for administrator role assignment is also introduced.
    5) Security Wizard Infrastructure
    a)Security Wizard Infrastructure
    · Infrastructure for product teams to create their own security wizards in context of a role.
    · Product teams can create their wizards and seed relevant information
    · These wizards appear in list of security wizards available to the administrator when creating/updating role information
b)New User Interface for Delegated Administration
    · Existing functionality(11.5.10) of delegated administration setup implemented using wizard infrastructure
    · Wizard guides the user through what options they can set for a delegated administration
    6) Search Enhancement for List of Value’s (LOV)
Search Enhancements has been made in LOV’s in User management.
    a) All LOVs in User Management (UMX) are now searchable by
    · Role
    · Responsibility
    · Both
    · Internal Code
b)A type included in the results – to differentiate roles and responsibilities
