Im going to kill my self. (The signature was invalid)

"The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate."
It´s like a week im trynig diffrent tutorial, forums. NOTHING. The only option I have now is ScreenSharing via iChat.
Please somebody help me. Pleeeaaase. PM me if you have to time to help me and I will send you my iChat username.
I would really appreciate it.

It can be tough, but don't give up - it will work. I've been through this for 5 apps now, and it can be total frustration. Here's what works for me:
-Quit Xcode
-First, delete all your distribution profiles from ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles/
-Log into Portal - double, triple check your app ID (must not be * if using push)
-Regenerate dist profile. *Do not modify an existing profile* Create a new one.
-Download and manually place the file in ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles/
-Launch Xcode
-Double, triple check all your configurations in Build Info. Check Base SDK, Code signing identity. Check all the configurations, including ones you're not using.
-Repeat this step for the target.
-Clean and build.
Beleive it or not, this process has actually become MUCH more manageable than it was a year ago. The bottom line is : if you have problems with a profile, completely remove all evidence of its existence and try again.
Also, you can check if the signing worked without uploading. From the CLI : codesign -vvvv filename
If you are dealing with Certificates, always reboot after installing. Good luck.

  • Application failed code signing verification. The signature was invalid

    Hi,
Earlier we have created iPhone app with adobe air and uploaded it to iOS store. Now we have updated the app and used a new .p12 file and it is generated from a new CSR file and created the build. But while uploading the build from application loader it is giving the following error.
"Application failed code signing verification. The signature was invalid contains disallowed entitlements or it was not signed with an iPhone distribution Certificate"
With the same certificate file we have uploaded two more apps developed in HTML5, jQueryMobile and Phonegap. These apps should not effect while we upload the Adobe air iPhone app.
Please help us to fix the issue.

I am fairly certain the issue is you are submitting an update to an existing app with a new cert. The other apps work just fine because they are not updates, but new submissions to the app store. You will need to use the same certs that you used with the initial submission.

  • I'm trying to get iTunes 10.5 but my computer told me 'the signature is invalid'

I'm trying to get iTunes 10.5 but my computer told me 'the signature is invalid'
    How can I solve this?

    Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.
    Success,
    Peter

  • When trying to 'Consolidate Files' via iTunes I get the message "Copying files failed. The name was invalid or too long."

I am trying to copy my entire iTunes library and everything in it from my PC Desktop to my PC Laptop using the "External Drive" method as shown on the Apple website. On Part 1 (5) I am told to consolidate files. When attempting to do this I get the message "Copying files failed. The file name was invalid or too long."
    How do I resolve this?

I have just been having this problem and it has been driving me mad.   The error message doesn't tell you which file is causing the problem so you can't fix it and it leaves your libray in a state of limbo with some files copied into the new location and some in the old location.  After many hours I found a surprisingly quick and simple solution.
    1) in iTune create a smart play list that includes everything that was added before tomorrows date.  This will include everything.
    2) Right click this playlist and export it as a text file to produce a tab delimited file.
    3) Import this into a spread sheet, or just view it in a text editor with line wrap turned off.  What you are interested in is the last column (or end of the line in a text editor).  This gives you the path of the file associated with each entry in the library.
The path of the files that have already been copied successfully will start with the new location for your media files you specified.  Scroll thru the rows until you get a blank path.  If you start getting paths starting with the old Media file location then you went to far and start scrolling back.
The row with the blank path was the file that failed.  Move back to the start of the row to find out more about it.  In my case it was a podcast with a very long name. I just deleted that podcast from iTunes.
    4) Restart the consolidation by choosing File, Library as you did before and the process starts again where it left off.
    5) If it fails again on another file just repeat the process

  • The binary you uploaded was invalid. Very unhelpful support complaint

I have finally made it to the "Add New Application" screen in the iTunes connect portal. 3 hours must have passed since I decided to submit my app to the itunes store.
Almost every step of the way here was painful and full of troubleshooting madness. Yet I followed each step carefully one by one, did everything that the guides told me to do to.
I've found that to submit your iphone app to the App store following instructions is not enough. Many times in my life I have had to go through Applications procedures, but I have never heard of a procedure where you follow each step but still run into problems.
So my problem is, I try to upload my file I get an error message:
The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate.
    Question 1)
Am I supposed to be uploading a zip file or the .app file? When reading the step by step instructions it says to zip the file (Yet no explanation on what to do with the zipped file). When choosing which file to upload I can only upload the zip file. Their should be clear instructions pointing out exactly what type of file needs to be uploaded, and also additional notes explaning what I should do with the zipped file.
    Question 2)
Earlier in the process I was required to enter a common name in the certificate. It says to enter the common name you entered when you signed up. I do not know where to find that common name exactly, and and I unsure where I can find that exact information. There should be instructions about where you can find your common name to avoid problems further down the process.
    Question 3)
Under verifying distribution, Step number 2 it says:
"Search for the term “CodeSign” in the Build Log detail view - this will take you to the line in the build log that confirms your application was signed by your iPhone Certificate"
So it shows up in my log, but the instructions do not point out what to look at, and where the problem might be. It only tells you to search for the term CodeSign and leaves you off. Sure their is an image highlighting the required line. But it says nothing other than to look for the words CodeSign. What exactly am I looking at here?
I am doing my best to try and forgive these flaws found in the help section. What is it that I did wrong?

Most likely you got the binary signed with the wrong certificate. Or there's something else in your process that doesn't match exactly with what you entered at the Program Portal.
    Question 1)
Am I supposed to be uploading a zip file or the .app file? When reading the step by step instructions it says to zip the file (Yet no explanation on what to do with the zipped file). When choosing which file to upload I can only upload the zip file.
You should upload the zip file. You're correct that it's not spelled out in the printed directions, but there's a video on how to prepare your app for the store and in it the presenter uploads the zip file. Being only able to choose the zip file is a sign that the correct file is the zip.
    Question 2)
Earlier in the process I was required to enter a common name in the certificate. It says to enter the common name you entered when you signed up. I do not know where to find that common name exactly, and and I unsure where I can find that exact information. There should be instructions about where you can find your common name to avoid problems further down the process.
Remember when you generated and installed all the certificates from the Program Portal web site? You can get the names from there.
So it shows up in my log, but the instructions do not point out what to look at, and where the problem might be. It only tells you to search for the term CodeSign and leaves you off. Sure their is an image highlighting the required line. But it says nothing other than to look for the words CodeSign. What exactly am I looking at here?
Basically, by following those directions, you're looking to see if your code is signed and that it's signing the right binary (i.e., in the correct build folder). It's not telling you what you used to sign the binary, whether you used the development certificate or the distribution one.
What is it that I did wrong?
You have to generate a certificate and provisioning profile for your app for distribution. You can't use the same one you used for signing your app if you tested on your device. You need to have the certificates and provisioning profiles properly entered into your keychain and Xcode for this to all work. Perhaps you missed one? Make sure you've zipped and uploaded the correct binary, i.e., the distribution one and not a development one.
Also, you should make sure that the app identifier (com.companyname.appname) matches exactly with what you entered into the program portal, even down to the case (i.e., if it's "appname" on the portal make sure it's not "AppName" in Xcode).
I haven't uploaded anything to the App Store yet, but I've pretty much done everything else: Ad Hoc distribution to my iPod via iTunes on another computer running an older OS, run directly on the iPod, used Instruments to profile my code on the iPod. In every case, I ran into some kind of roadblock, but in going through it again, I also found that I skipped some step, or missed some setting, and once I corrected that, things worked as expected.
It's a complicated process, one that has a lot of steps, therefore a lot of places for a mistake or missed setting. So try going back through the process again just to make sure you haven't missed a step or gotten some setting wrong.
