Image checker board

Just installed Appeture and included the Tibet files. I also brought in some raw files.
When I veiw some of the files, both the tutorial and my raw files (canon 20D) they have a weak to strong green checker board in some areas. I thought these might be out of gamut, but there are also present on the tibet images also. The displays are apple cinema displays, the graphics card is ATI Radeon 9600 XT:
Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Canon users are having a lot of conversion issues, hoping that a RAW update fixes those before long...
For that specific issue, I cannot tell if it might be something already fixed by an update. Do you have the Aperture 1.0.1 update applied and also 10.4.4 installed? Normally I would assume you had but since you've only just installed...

Sindbad. A suggestion, to let us know all the specifics of your machine: go the the help menu, and select System Info...
Copy the contents, and paste it in an answer there.
You might want to remove your serial number.
Thanks to that we will know: the exact version of Photoshop, your memory, where Photoshop is installed, the graphic card and its drivers, and also if you are using third party plug-ins.
Some other users reported that when launching Photoshop holding down the shift key (this disables the plug-ins), he was able to see the images.
The solution in that case is to search for updated plug-ins (or to report the plug-in manufacturers that their plug-ins causes issues in Photoshop.

  • Checker board effect

I was hoping someone could help me with a checkerboard effect that is appearing (unwanted) in all video clips that I import into Motion. When I take the same clips into FCP they work fine.
The video appears as if it has been sliced horizontally with every other band being offset - creating the checker board effect.
I have two computers and have tried the clips on both and the same thing happens. So I am assuming that there is a problem with the way I am capturing the clips. This problem came up fairly recently and until now I have never had a problem with clips in Motion.
I am capturing with Live Capture Plus. But I have always used it and prior to the last little while I have had no problems. I wonder if there is some setting that I unknowingly changed in Motion to cause this problem. The clips play fine in FCP and Quicktime. I am baffled why they won't work in Motion.
    Any help would be wonderful.
    Thanks so much
    Kim

Those are blocked from mirroring, you can try VLC for DVD content. You can use basic airplay or home-sharing to stream iTunes content.

  • Uses for trigger on image acquisition board.

I am new to the concept of external triggering of events. I am trying to figure out how to use the trigger on an image acquisition board (specifically - I have the pci-1411). I am wondering if I can use the trigger for things that have nothing to do with image aquisition. I don't necessarily want to acquire an image when the board receives a trigger signal. I would like to use the board to detect that trigger signal, and, when it does, execute a particular set of code. Can this be done?
Also, I am wondering if the IMAQ image acquisition boards that are capable of generating a signal through this trigger (I understand that the pci-1411 cannot generate a signal?) could be used to control some external device like a s
    mall motor for example.
    Thank you for your help.

The pulse that the imaq board generates is not meant to drive motors. For that we have motion cards, refer, ni.com/motion

IMAQ Generate Pulse - This function allows you to generate a pulse from the TIO chips on the board. This functionality is only supported with the 1409 and the digital boards (1422, 1424, 1428). You can only drive at most two pulses at once. Driving pulses doesn't require events, unless you are triggering the pulse off o
f the Frame Start or Frame Done.
IMAQ Trigger Read - This function allows you to read the status of External Trigger lines or RTSI lines.

Consider a typdef cluster of leds or customized buttons or pict boxes (very nice for graphics and has as many predefined states as needed).  This is not as flexible as the picture bux but very easy to implement and works well in a dataflow model to store yhe system state.   See attached

  • ACE Probe - Imaging checking

We have an ACE 4710 providing load balancer functions for 2x websites.  Is there a way to set up a probe to look for an image on the homepage of the website to deem the site is available.
    Thanks in advance

yes you should be able to do it.
You can configure the HTTP method and URL used by the probe by using the request method command. The syntax of this command is as follows:
    request method {get | head} url path
By default the url is "/" .
But the only requirement is that you need to have a url for this image. If the image is part of the webpage itself then there is no way to distinguish between the page and the image.

  • CS4 Resample Image Check Box - Turning Off

CS4 > Image > Image Size > Resample Image checkbox
Is there a way to alter the program preferences to always show that box as unchecked? I went to Edit > Preferences and could not find a method.

Simply load an image, bring up the Image Size dialog box, uncheck the Resample Image box,and click OK. It should stay that way.

  • Checker-board overlay on photos

Hi. When using iPhoto, or even Preview, to look at photos, I get a grayscale rectangular checkerboard pattern over the images. When enlarging or cropping the images, the greyscale bars turn green or pink. This began only this week. All photos are affected, old and new, iPhone or other camera.
The display settings have not been changed from their factory default settings (millions of colors, etc.)
It does not affect thumbnails or the desktop wallpaper, or even images on webpages. Although, the pink rectangle pattern does appear in the iPhoto thumbnail event title reflection.
    Any thoughts?

  • Not able to use google maps! I've checked add-on, auto loading of images, checked for exceptions and it still "only" says "still loading..."! What's the deal...Would love to use this app to reseach "things to do" for my upcoming vacation! Help. Thx

I think I've covered this from the question I asked!

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Screen is like a checker board

My screen just randomly has a cherboard pattern. It doesn't freeze or anything just has a pattern.

    8 GB Ram 1067 MHz DDR3
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5

P.S. The blue on the screen is not the problem. That is hwere I blocked out personal information.

    Hi Don,
Have you blown the dust out lately?
Get Temperature Monitor to see if it's heat related...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12381/temperature-monitor
Take a screen shot & view that in Preview, move the Preview window around, if you see double lines it's a Video card/VRAM problem, if the lines do not move moving the pic around then it's the LCD or cable.

  • Faint but noticeable checker-board pattern on entire screen.

Just bought this notebook from Wally-World yesterday. The problem I am having is the entire screen surface is filled with these little faint greyed squares in an even pattern both vertically and horizontally.  These little squares are evenly spaced and proportional with each other. Is it possible I am seeing the digitizer? If so, is this normal? Thank you for any help. I don't want to have to make the 20 mile drive back to the store where I bought it from. Again, thank you!

Thank you for your reply. The squares on the screen are tiny, about 2mm x 2mm.  A grid of sorts. It is a 'perfect' grid of squares, from corner to corner.  The closest thing i can compare it to is some kind of burn-in kinda like some older panels and CRT monitors. I've tried to take a high resolution picture with my phone but they do not show up in the digital photo. They are most apperant on a white backround. I think I may just have to take it back to Wally's and spend the extra 50 bucks to get the better of the sub $400 HP notebooks there. I bought this one because of the price point and the touch screen sold me, lol.

  • Checker board / Grid / Horizontal and Vertical lines on my 4th Gen iPad

It's only visible in sunlight, but when I'm outside in the sunlight, it's very easy to spot. Is this a screen defect, or is it normal?

Never saw this on my iPad. Take it back to Apple and have them look at it.

  • After Lion upgrade, screen becoming "checker boarded"

The issue happens randomly and quite infrequently, it has taken me months to get a screenshot of it.
I am usually surfing the internet when it happens and as soon as I scroll the page or click on a link, it goes back to normal.
I felt that it might be the browser but I have updated and tried using firefox and safari and it has happened using all of them.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Same issues here! Upgraded my iMac (24-inch, Mid 2007, ATI HD 2600 Pro graphics) to Lion yesterday. After the upgrade the second monitor I have attached (CMC 22 W Display) now randomly flickers on and off.
I have unpluged the monitor and rebooted the system as a single screen set up, then re-attached it, changed the arrangement to mirror and back again, messed with the resolutions, basicaly anything I could find to affect the second screen, all to no avail. It's still sitting there, flickering merrily away to itself every few seconds.
This setup was 100% rock solid under Snow Leopard.
