Image in Array to background of mc

So.  Managed to get past my last issue and now when the xml file of images is loaded, I place each image into an element of an Array so I can handle them individually.  Problem I am having now is this.  When image at element 1 is pressed, it should become one of my movie clips background.  I am using some code I was using in as3, when the image wasnt in an Array, and it worked fine.  Now I am in AS2, and the image is in an Array, it doesnt seem to work.  Additionally, I get no errors whatsoever.  The code for this is
picHolder[1].onPress = function() {
          picHolder[1].width = card.width;
          picHolder[1].height = card.height;
          picHolder[1].x = 0;
          picHolder[1].y = 0;
          card.addChild(picHolder[1]);
Whereby picHolder[1] is an image, and card is my movie clip.  If I do picHolder[1].startDrag(true), I can pick up and drag the image.  So, I know I am dealing with the correct image here.  Should I be doing the above differently when working with an Array?
Cheers

Ok, what I am doing now is in AS2.  So, I know that
function thumbClickable():Void {
     picHolder[1].onPress = function() {
Is AS2, so what I have done inside of it must be AS3.  So, what would the inside look like in AS2?  I cant really see how this could be much different.
cheers

  • How to save transparent background images to have transparent background thumbnails with Photoshop 2014?

    In old versions of Photoshop there was a feature that made thumbnail images have a transparent background.  I'm a CC member using Photoshop 2014 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.4 and every thumbnail of a transparent background image I've created in Photoshop 2014 appears on my desktop with a solid white box background that has a thin black outlined box inside of it.  How do I save the transparent background images I've created in Photoshop 2014 so they will appear on my desktop as thumbnails with a transparent background?   I'd like to continue to be able to replace the default background-less folder icon that that appears on files with transparent background thumbnails to customize my files as I use to do with older versions of Photoshop.

    If your layered document has a Photoshop background layer it visibility need to be set off when saving a PNG or Gif file for Photoshop background layers do not support transparency.
    Thumbnail may be a bit more complicated than you think. I do not use Lightroom, and only occasionally use the bridge.  I believe Lightroom and Bridge  keep thumbnails they develop for image files  in their library databases and caches.  Other programs do not have acces to  these.  RAW Files and Image files have Jpeg previews stored in then.  I believe most application use these previews jpeg to create thumbnails.  Jpeg format does not support transparency.
    Icon on the desktop are not always thumbnails some are embedded icons in application modules other are icon in dll these may well have transparency. However image file on the desktop have generated thumbnails.  However you can create a shortcut for an image png file and create a icon with a transparent background for the png file and change the shortcut's icon for the png file to the transparent ico file you created for it.
    Also many Photoshop release ago an Adobe module created Thumbnails for image files in Windows File explorer and most likely system file dialog. Adobe stopped supporting that stating Microsoft changes how windows works.
    Today I use FastPictureViewer Codec Package to generate image thumbnails for image files including RAW and PSD files in File Explorer and system file dialogs.
    I don't use a Mac don't know what available for your Mac.

  • Image in a JDesktopPane background

    Is it possible to paint an Image in a JDesktopPane background ??
    how can I get it ?

    take the ImageIcon containing the image and add it to a JLabel.
    ex:
    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon("yourImage.?")
    JLabel label = new JLabel(icon)
    Next take the label and stick it to a lower level the pane containing your components.
    ex:
    (yourJPane).getLayeredPane().add(label, new Integer(Integer.MIN_VALUE))
    also make sure the JLabel is the size of the image.
    ex:
    label.setBounds(0, 0, yourImage.getIconHeight(), yourImage.getIconWidth());
    make sure your panel is non-opaque and it should work
    ex:
    ((JPanel)getContentPane()).setOpaque(false);
    I may not have the code examples exactly right but your answer does lay in the JLayeredPane realm.

  • Keeping image in place while background moves?

    Title may not be the best... I have video I am working on that only uses still images that I move by zooming and such... My background zooms out during the video, and I would like to keep an image placed on the background (some flags for the top of arch) As the background moves my images are not moving with the background and get out of place, and ideas? I'm sure this is a simple one and I know how it is done with a video using motion tracker of course I can't use motion tracker for this one, I also know i can key frame the flags in position but anything easier would be best. Thank you!

    Because your source materials are still images, it may be very easy to composite these elements in a single precomp/nested comp, then move the entire precomp as a whole.
    If none of your elements move until you put position/scale animation on them, you could create the flag+castle composition in Photoshop. That might be the easiest way.
    If you have already created the "zooming" animation on the background layer and want to be sure that other layers animate similarly, you can parent multiple layers to the background (animated) layer. By opening the "Parent" column and linking the child (flag layer) to the parent (background), you'll be able to edit the flag even though it follows the animation of the background.

  • Making a image have a transparent background

    I was given a image and asked to use it as a logo for a website. It is a black image with a white background. How do I get a transparent background so I can post the image on a web page and only see the image and not the white background it has? I am using photoshop elements 5.0. Thanks.

    For me, best solution for extracting an image from its background is using a terrific plug-in for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. It's called GML Matting. It's free, functions flawlessly and you can create some amazing images with it. I save the extracted images with transparent backgrounds as PSDs.
    You can download it here: http://research.graphicon.ru/image-processing/gml-matting-6.html
    Select the latest version from the menu. After it's installed, you'll find it at the bottom of the Filters pull-down.
    I've used it with Elements 2, 5 and 7.
    How well does it work? You can decide. I took two photos, one of my Jeep parked in a parking lot, overlooking a quiet bay. Then I took another photo of the rough surf on the ocean side of the island. Using Elements 5 with the GML Matting plug-in, I extracted the Jeep and its shadow and dropped the image onto the photo of the surf. It took about 30 minutes to clean up edges (using various Elements tools). When completed, the resulting image is virtually impossible to detect as a composite.
    Here's the finished image: http://home.att.net/~historyworld/OceanBeachJeep.jpg
    You can see a review of the plug-in and see the images to create my composite by scrolling through the linked thread below (on the Photocamel forums). http://photocamel.com/forum/image-editing-color-management/48945-free-background-removal- software.html

  • Image to array maximum image size

    Hey guys,
    I have a problem with the Image to array VI. I am getting the image from a FL2-20S4M camera from point grey, which has a maximum resolution of 1624x1224 pixels. The image is loaded with IMAQ vision and displayed. I now use image to array to convert the image and display it in an intensity graph. When I set the resolution of IMAQ vision to 800x600 it worked. When I set it to 1624x1224 the image was still displayed, but the intensity graph was empty. Now I set the resolution back to 800x600, but the intensity graph does not work again.
    Is this a known problem or is there a maximum resolution for image to array? How could I fix the problem or at least make it work with 800x600 again?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Stefan

    Is the camera a 16bit one?If yes then can you convert it to 8 bits and try?

  • How do you make an image have a transparent background?

    i brought an image from PS into Illustrator and i want to put it in AE and use the puppet tool. however, when i bring it in it has a white background, but i just what the object i am going to puppet, so how do i do that?

    AE does not require an image to be sent through Illy first. Just make sure your image has a transparent background and/or an alpha channel if need, then save as a psd file. In AE bring the psd file in as footage, unless you need a compostion and folder for the psd created in the project list. You should then be able to use the puppet tool on an image with a transparent background.

  • Fade image to a black background

    hey guys,
    im trying to fade an image to a black background. i was able to fade the image from a few tutorials but not quite how i want to. i want to the image to fade into the black background. i was able to get the image to fade but its fading into a bright white. hopefully this is a quick one for one of you out there
    thank you
    jon

    I'm not sure if i understand exactly what You are trying to do, but if You change the "mode" from "screen" to "normal" and drag the pointer from left- to right (or remove the "reverse" and drag from the right to left) I'm sure it's about what You are trying to do.
    Another way is to paint "the edges" with a large soft brush in the same color as the background.

  • Superimposed jpg image comes with unwanted background

    hi.
    I cut out an object from a jpg image and made a new jpg image with transparent background. Tested it on image editing program - the background is indeed transparent.
    However, when i try to superimpose the image with transparent background on a video in PrE, the image is shown with a white background.
    How do i remove that unwanted white background?

    Great news!
    In many Image editors, Transparency is not clearly deliniated, and it just looks white. With display settings in Photoshop, Transparency will be shown as a checkerboard pattern, but when one does a Save_As to JPEG, that clearly goes white, alerting the user to the lack of Transparency in the JPEG.
    Good luck, and happy editing.

  • Why does flattening image result in locked background?

    When I flatten an image, Photoshop automatically creates one background layer and locks it. How can I set Photoshop to default to NOT locking the background?

    Many Thanks to Welles Goodrich (his post wasn't showing up here when I typed this, for some reason) who said:
    "Presuming you don't have a background layer when you wish to 'flatten,' use the Layer > Merge Visible command rather than Flatten Image. A flattened image always has a background (locked) layer. Why? That's just the way it is. If you want to create a new image without a background layer choose Transparent from the "Background Contents:" menu from the New dialog."

  • How to create image slice with transparent background without white halo around?

    Hi, I want to make slice image with transparent background. I set the slice option background color to my background color. But when the image is on my html page set against the same background color, it has white halo around:
    How can I get rid of the white halo?
    I need the slice image to have transparent background and not have a color background because it's going on a rollover button with the background change. I don't want it to look like this on rollover:

    >it looks to me like you built it with that "halo" to start with.
    No, I didn't put in the halo myself. The shape is a character from the Webdings font. It's set to some darker fill color and set on a transparent background. Photoshop put the white halo there after "Save For Web".
    > Make your graphic on a transparent background and Save for Web
    I did exactly that, see:
    I set the slice background to my color. I try the Matte option and come out the same with white halo.
    It seems I'm not making Photoshop antialias to my background color, instead Photoshop just antialias to white.
    What else do I need to do?
