Image Sequence file paths from JS

Hi,
What is the best way to get the list of file paths to the various Images in a Sequence?
Looking at theItem.file and theItem.mainSource.file seems to just be giving me the first path. How can I find the subsequent paths?
Thanks!
-Harold

They indeed are, and with some string manipulation they can be divined.
The C++ api provides nice "Get Path at Frame" functionality however. :D

  • How to edit 16bit TIFF image sequence file in FCP?

    Dear all,
    I have a number of 16 bit TIFF image sequence files (2048 x 1024 resolution) - some of them are RED footage, and others came directly from our f/x guy. We are going into a color correction session in a post house and we've been asked to provide a sequential 16 bit TIFF image sequence of the edited time line.
    I need to do a cross dissolve b/w most of the clips I have. I have created image sequence QT movie (reference files) from the TIFF images. Though they play fine in QT player, when I try importing into FCP, I am met with a "general error". I tried both dragging it into QT, as well as File --> Import.
    I am wondering what can I do to get these clips into FCP in order to apply the cross dissolve transitions I need. Is this a problem relating to the 16bit nature of the TIFF files?
    I tried exporting the TIFF image sequence standalone QT movie, and those imported fine. However, I have a feeling that the standalone movie conversion also decrease my bit depth from 16 to 8. (When I do my final TIFF output from FCP after dissolves / transitions had been applied, each TIFF file is now 8 MB instead of 12 MB, hence my suspicion that the bit depth is adjusted).
    Are there any settings I am missing, or does FCP simply don't support 16 bit image sequence reference file. As a test, I had also converted all my TIFF to jpg, and created jpeg image sequence reference file. These reference QT file can be successfully imported to FCP and I can edit them as if they are a clip.
    If FCP is not able to handle these files, what are my other options? After Effects?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Michael
    <Edited by Moderator>

    As far as I know, both FCP and Color only support up to 10 bit color, which is 1024 levels for each color channel, more than enough for avoiding color banding.
    If you need 16 bit for sure, I believe AE will support 16 bit output. Another 16 bit application would be the extended version of Photoshop, which has some limited time line capability.

  • How to get the loaded client sequence file path/name?

    I added a step in Process model, and wanted to get currently loaded client sequence file name/path. I used the variable of "SequenceFile.Path" but then I realized what I would get is the process model file path, not loaded client sequence file path/name. How can I get loaded client sequence file path/name?
    Thanks!
    Jacky

    I dont understand what you are trying to achieve.  Can you provide more information.
    If you are trying to dynamically load and run a client sequence file at run time you need to make a couple of calls to the TS API from inside the process model, Engine.GetSequenceFileEx to get a reference to your sequence identified by its pathname, and then Execution.ClientFile to tell the process model which sequence you want to run.

    Hi,
    One of our requirement is like below:
    I am working on ADF 11g (latest release R1) page. User will select the file and when he/she clicks on the Save button we need to store the file path in the database.
    In the database file_path is varchar2(300). We need to store just the file path. I am using InputFile component but filepath is not getting inserted.
    This is really urgent. It would be really appreciate if anyone can guide me on this.

    Hi Mahesh,
    I have manage to store the file path from the InputFile component in Jdev 11g. I found the file upload script from this forum and manage to alter it so that i could save the file path to the database. But my problem is to retrieve it back to view as a document. Hope this will help you :)

  • External hard drive -- old file path from a previous laptop is still where to find my songs,  how do I change?

    My iTunes library is a mess, it is stored on an external hard drive.  My old laptop died unexpectedly and I didn't have a problem resetting the file path for the library on my new laptop.  The other day my son was trying to update his iPod when I wasn't home and I don't know what he did.... GRRRR  Any songs I purchased on my old laptop are now not able to be found.  When I click on 'get info' on a song it shows the old file path from the old laptop.  Songs that I purchased since the new laptop are still playable and great.  I know my songs are still there but I can't seem to get the file path to reset on the old music.  HELP!!! PLEASE

    This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
    Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or an external drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
    Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • File path from specific directory

    hi all ,
    How to get full file path from specific directory having many folder inside that directory.
    I have file name and main directory name,please help me if you know about it

    I recognize that this post is half a year old at this writing, and the OP has probably long since either solved or abandoned the problem in question. That being stipulated: if I understand the question properly, the OP is stating that there is a directory named A, and contained somewhere within that directory or one (or more) of its subdirectories is one (or more) file(s) named abc.txt, and OP would like to be able to locate and obtain the canonical path to said file(s). While I am in no way a java maven, I've written a brief program which appears to do exactly that:
    import java.io.*;
    public class Main {
        public Main() {
            String whatImLookingFor = "abc.txt";
            String startingDirectory = "A";
            File path = new File("A");
            recursivelySearch(path, whatImLookingFor);
        private void recursivelySearch(File path, String whatImLookingFor) {
            try {
                if (path.isFile()) {
                    if (path.getName().equals(whatImLookingFor))
                        System.out.println(path.getCanonicalPath());
                else
                    if (path.isDirectory()) {
                        File[] currentFiles = path.listFiles();
                        for (int i=0; i<currentFiles.length; i++)
                            recursivelySearch(currentFiles, whatImLookingFor);
    catch(IOException ioe) {
    System.out.println("During search got error "+ioe.getMessage());
    public static void main(String[] args) {

  • How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system

    Hi Firends,
    How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system , whenevr i will click on browse button.
    Please give reply for this one , if anybody knows.
    Thanks,
    Anderson.

    Hi Anderson,
    if you're using flash.filesystem.FileReference - then it is run in black box - except of filename, size and creation data (and few other properties available after some operation succeeded). This is part of security features in Flash runtime (described in header section):
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/FileReference .html
    This for example implies that user can download a content to local machine - but that content cannot be loaded back into Flash runtime. For this you would need either Air runtime flash.filesystem.File:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/filesystem/File.h tml
    (so you would created Air runtime based application: desktop or mobile but not web, even as standalone project) or you would need one of 3rd party tools that add file access/file information features to standard Flash runtime applications converted to standalone native applications.
    hth,
    kind regards,

  • Teststand 1.03 - How can I get the sequence file path into an expression?

    The sequence file will be located at different locations on different computers. I need the base address of the sequence file to get to the correct limits file. How can I get the sequence file path into a string-local expression.
    Thanks

    As Ray described, the FindFile expression function and TS API method will seach all TS search directories and return to you the path of your file, assuming the file is located in the search directories.
    If you just want the path of a TS file that you have a reference to then there is a faster, easier method. You can use the Path property of the PropertyObjectFile class. In the attached example I use an AcitiveX Automation adapter step to call Path on the property RunState.SequenceFile. This returns the path to the current executing sequence file. Note that if you have not yet saved the sequence file then the path will be empty. In a subsequence step I strip off the file name leaving the root path of the file.

  • Is there a way to keep Deployment Utility from modifying sequence file paths?

    While the Deployment Utility appears to be a great tool, it does some things that I'd rather it didn't. One is that it modifies all paths in sequence that it is including from Absolute to Relative. While this is a nice feature for many reasons, it is a show-stopper for our uses. This is because as part of our distribution process, we also use a checksum routine to verify that the sequence files being run by the operators on the Test Stations we deploy to are running the correct (unmodified) version of the test software. By using Absolute paths, we can detect and prevent accidental editing/changing of the sequences or paths that we have deployed, but if we have to use relative paths that is something that we could work with also.
    So my questions are: 1. Can this path update 'feature' be disabled? and 2. If not, then will pre-setting all paths in a sequence cause the deployment utility to only copy the file and not update it (thus changing it's checksum)?
    I'm going to test the latter when I have time, and if there are any other suggestions that might be useful, I'm love to hear them.
    Thanks,
    -Jack

    Rick,
    In my experimentation to see if using relative paths, I was able to prove that a sequence that uses them will not be updated - with one caveat; if the path that is referenced by the sequence is not itself in a sub-directory, i.e.; it's in a different branch of the relative directory structure with respect to the Target (such as the TestStand directory), then the sequence file is always updated and re-saved. An example is that we have a sequence in the Tools directory that calls a DLL in the FrontEnd directory of the Components\User path. This re-saving causes a checksum change and screws up our verification mechanism.
    It is unfortunate that I cannot prevent the deployment utility from modifying sequence files - Since we control the entire Test environment, including the location that software gets installed to - Test Station custodians can't go installing the software in a different location, or worse, multiple locations, so we don't have the issue to worry about.
    Because of this 'better' method, we now have to re-evaluate how to control the installed version of the software, or use a different installer, such as CVI, which while it has been working for us, has it 's own issues that we're trying to get away from. I'm glad that I am finding out about this now before I've locked down the sequences so that I can probably move the features in the Tools to the Frontend Callback sequence.
    It's almost always the case thought that one persons forced enhancement is another's 'feature' or worse 'bug'.
    Thanks for confirming the behavior on the Deployment utility for me.

  • How to call sequence in LabVIEW by providing sequence file path.

  • Getting the full file path from FormFile

    Hi, I am reading in a .csv file from my JSP page and I want to pass the String path from my Action class to the logic layer class. When I try and pass it at the moment, it throws an FileNotFound error as it is only passing the file name. i.e
    Passing
    text.csv
    not
    C:\text.csv
    Is there anyway of detirming the full file path using the FormFile class?
    Thanks in advance

    Yes, as in Struts.
    I am not trying to upload the file, simply trying to read the contents from the file. My problem is that I want to read the contents from one of my business logic classes, not within my struts Action. I can get it working if I use
    byte[] datainfile = file.getFileData();
    and then send that but the I would prefer to just send the full path to my Business logic class and process everything in there rather than doing some in my Action and some in my logic class.
    So what I would like to put in my Action class is something such as
    processCSVFile(String filePath);
    instead of
    processCSVFile(Byte[] formFile);

  • Sequence file path programmed in operator interface

    Hello,
    I do not want to load the sequence file with the button OPEN_FILE etc.. for example how it is done in th Simple Operator Interface. I want to programm the path and the sequence file name in the Operator Interface. How can I do this that the correct file will be loaded
    regards
    samuel

    I try to explain what you have to do without an example, because it is realy simple, and so we have no version dependency ;-)
    I used the "simple operator interface" installed with TestStand (..\National Instruments\TestStand 3.x\Operator\Interfaces\NI\Simple\LabVIEW\TestExec.llb\Simple OI - Top-Level.vi). I added the method mentioned above in front of the Event-Structure (See attached picture)  and added a path-constant, to define which Sequence should be loaded automatically.
    Try this out. It works fine on my machine (LabVIEW 8.2.1, TestStand 3.5, but should be independent of Versions as long as you have TestStand 3 and LabVIEW 7 at least).
    Hope this helps!
