Images not in printed documentation

When generating printed documentation from RH7 (selecting
embed images, MS Word doc, etc.), the images do not show up in the
results. All I see are the {bmc <file name>.bmp} references.
I know this worked in version 5 and I read the release update for
7.0.1 (which I installed) that indicates it was fixed; but no joy.
BTW, I have tried this with a new test document, re-booted the
computer, etc.
What is going on here?

A point of interest with this problem. I have noticed that,
with this installation, when I highlight a true code image in my
Word project file (indicated by {bmc <file name>.bmp} ) then
click the "New Help Image" button (or use Ctrl-G) the image view on
the General tab (Insert Help Image Window) is vacant. This is
interesting, in that, as I recall in RH5 it would show the graphic
that was selected. For some reason this installation is not making
the connection back to the inserted image. I'm thinking this is the
root of the problem. Now, the question is: How do I correct it?
Also, you will note that I previously indicated "this
installation". This is due to my experimenting with an installation
on a different computer (it never having any prior version of a RH
installation) and the Printed Documentation feature works - sort
of. The issue I see on that computer is at the end of the process
RH7 shuts down. It doesn't lock up, it literally closes before the
final step where the pop up dialog box indicating the process
completed, and provides the view file button, is shown. However, I
can find the word document it created an view it - interesting
behavior.

  • Images Blurry on Printed Documentation Output

    Hello everyone,
    With my current project, consisting of several linked Word documents, when I generate a printed documentation output the images (pdf or word) within the document are extremely blurry.
    The images are embedded within the Word docs, then linked into RH9.0.2. The quality is rather poor, and I wonder if anyone knows how to get a better result when generating the printed documentation.
    Thank you,

  • Automatically Image-Resize On Printed Documentation Output

    Hello,
    I'm again
    I have one new problem.
    If I generate a printed documentation as *.docx file, RoboHelp is resizing my images.
    I insert screenshots in the topics und gave them new width and height values.
    If I generate the output as *.docx, RoboHelp take my image, keep the width, but resets the height to the original one. So I have horrible stretched pictures
    How can I solve this problem?
    Does somebody maybe know it?
    Cheerio,
    Denis

    By "export" I take it you mean create a printed document.
    See if it happens in a new project and if it does, then it looks like a bug.

  • Images not appearing/printing in PDF properly

    I'm working in CS4. I never had this issue in the past, but now when I save files as PDFX1a some of my images do not appear when printing. I can see them in the PDF, but they print as a white silhouette. I did embed the images.

    Where is it you want the navigation to appear?
    Try this CSS -
    #mainnav {
    clear: both;
    display: block;
    float:right;
    margin-right:50px;
    margin-top:25px;
    overflow:hidden;
    padding:0;
    width:350px;
    Is that anywhere close?

  • Why are the colors of my image not being printed correctly?

    I have an image that I want to print from Photoshop to a Kodak printer but when I print the image and it comes out, the colors are off. I try changing some of the settings but the color changes every time and none of the printed images are correct. My violets come out kind of pinkish and blues come out purple. I'm using Photoshop CS5 Extended and a Kodak ESP 7250 printer. None of the colors are out of gamut. Which printer profile should I be using and should I let photoshop or the printer manage the colors? What about the rendering intent? Some insight on this problem would be most helpful!! Thanks!

    There doesn't seem to be a one-size-fits-all answer, because what works for one printer doesn't necessarily work for another, and I don't have your printer so I can't advise on specifics...
    However, perhaps we can discover a set of settings that will work...
    If you File - Print, choose Photoshop Manages Colors, in the Printer Profile section do you see profiles specific to your printer (e.g., with the name Kodak in them)?
    If so, choose one of them that seems appropriate given the paper you're using.
    If not, try choosing sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
    Now, before you continue, press the [Print Settings...] button.  This brings up the printer driver dialog.  You may have to go through [Advanced] buttons or whatever, but what you're looking to do here is to disable the printer driver's color management logic.  In other words, if you can find a color-management / ICC profile handling section, set it to "no color management" or equivalent.  OK back out to Photoshop's print dialog, then press [Print].
    The key here is that if Photoshop manages the color transforms, the printer driver should not be set to do so - or vice versa.
    If you're presented with the printer driver's dialog again, double check that the settings you chose above are still set, for good measure, and try a test print.

  • Printed documentation does not display some images in PDF

    Some of the images in my printed documentation do not display
    in my PDF. The majority of the images display fine, but a few are
    missing. There is a gap where the image is supposed to appear, but
    no image displays.
    Am using RoboHelp 6.0 for HTML

    Do they appear in Word? What version of Word? Is it always
    the same images? How much RAM do you have?

  • RH6 and Printed Documentation

    I was trying to create a printed version of my project, but
    discovered the Printed Documentation selection was not enabled. I
    have had RH6 since spring of 2007, but hadn't had the need to use
    this feature since switching to RH6 from RH5. I called the support
    line to find out whether I was doing something wrong or was there a
    problem with the application. The support person told me that RH 6
    does not support printed documentation - that I would have to
    upgrade to RH7. I was quite surprised. I've only had version 6 for
    less than 1 1/2 years, I was never informed that printed
    documentation would not function in 6, and RH 7 is being promoted
    as the version to have - upgrade cost of $499. Even though I do not
    use the function that much, at times it is important to have - and
    in this particular case would have saved me a lot of time because I
    had to replicate a particular portion of help by creating a new
    Microsoft Word document. Why doesn't RH 6 contain this
    feature?

    Peter, thank you for your response. I also apologize for not
    indicating that I have Microsoft Word 2007 (our company installed
    this version several months ago), and that seems to be the problem.
    What I mean by Printed Documentation not enabled is that when I
    click Printed Documentation I get the message:"A supported version
    of Microsoft Word does not exist. Please install Microsoft Word
    2000 or XP." (We had MS Word XP prior to the install of MW 2007.) I
    called Adobe's Tech Support (I have a support package with them)
    because I couldn't believe the message. Tech Support rep confirmed
    the message and said that Printed Documentation in RH6 works in
    2000 or XP but not in Word 2007. In order to have the Printed
    Documentation function I have to update to RH7. So, no, I was not
    given any ticket number--they didn't even consider my call ticket
    worthy. The rep's repeated response was I have to upgrade to RH7 to
    get the print documentation capability. Seems it is a closed issue.
    I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and, if so, did
    they simply bite the bullet and upgrade or just live with the lack
    of abilitiy to print a document. (I have, by the way, printed
    documents in the past - but quite some time ago. I did also read
    your Printed Output article and wished I'd had this information
    when I was able to print.)

  • Footer image not resizing in printed documentation

    RH11
    Does anyone know why an image inserted into a footer master page is not automatically resizing to the width of the printed page when applied to a print layout and output to Word? If you insert an image into the body of a topic or a master page and generate printed documentation, the image automatically resizes.
    I'm trying to insert a high-res footer image (300 dpi) into my footer so that it appears on every page, but at the moment it's being embedded at full-size.
    Thanks
    Jonathan

    Firstly, your better off using liststyles than paragraph list styles, I screwed around a long time before I had to set everything to liststyles rather than paragraph ones. So dont worry about that.
    The first issue, of not seeing the style - it is there, if you open the Styles tab on screen (click in a topic to get the cursor, then Format > Styles), not just the dropdown like youve shown youll see a list of all your styles, almost, it will show paragraph styles, click the drop-down and select All available styles, this will display your list styles as well!
    Im not sure about the style settings, I have the same text setting applied in my list style as I use for my 'normal' text. Though I think you can select the text in a list and apply a paragraph style to it....i just tried and it worked, but to be on the safe side you might want to set the text formatting in the list style css too..
    mine looks like this
    li.NumberList {
        font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;
        font-size: 10pt;
        color: #524C45;
        list-style: decimal;
        margin-bottom: 6pt;
        margin-top: 6pt;
    As for printed formats not indenting lists, this is an issue. So far I have found no way around it because you cannot map a  list styles in RH to a list style in Word. This has also created errors for line spacing and indents - and  I found the indents are severly messed up when using list styles in snippets. Everytime I create printed documentation I have to manually fix it, a pain but it doesnt take too long....you could use macros etc to speed it all up for you.

  • Some images do not print when in printed documentation

    I have been encountering this problem for over a year now...
    I maintain over 20 projects in RoboHelp HTML. I have numerous
    printed document layouts defined. However, in what appears to be
    random situations, some of my images do not print. They display
    online just fine, but they are not visible in the printed
    documentation. Only a blank gap displays where the image should
    display. And there is no conditional build tag applied to any of
    these images. The reason I think it is random is because, if I
    perform the following test, the images print just fine:
    - duplicate the printed documentation layout
    - remove, from the duplicate copy, all of the pages
    surrounding a page that contains an image that does not print
    - generate the duplicate copy

    I had a similar problem with missing images. I never really
    solved it, but it (apparently) went away. One thing which helped
    was ensuring that none of my images had filenames containing
    spaces.
    In addition, selecting Link images rather than Embed can be
    useful; missing images are then replaced by a red cross which makes
    it easier to locate the problem.
    Also, in Word, you should uncheck Tools > Options >
    Print > Update Fields (that is for Word 2003).

  • BMP image not printing on LIPI Dot MAtrix printer

    Hello everybody .
    I am facing a promlem while printing a signature ( bmp image ) in a report .
    In print preview it is showing coreclty but while printing to LIPI Dot matrix printer model TALLY 2500 that Signature( bmp image ) is not getting printer.
    Can anybody let me know wether any setting is to be done from SAP side .

    Hi Raje,
    Try to take the print in inkjet or laserjet printer
    just for confirmation purpose .
    if it prints in that and  doesn't print in dot matrix then the problem is with the dot matrix.
    In that case ask the basis guys to install the relevent device driver for that dot matrix printer( as normally they would have installed some generic driver ).
    Hope this helps.

  • Image not printed in SapScript, only after page break

    Hi,
    I have a problem in printing an image (stored as text) in a sapscript. The image was uploaded correctly from a TIF file in tcode SE78. The image contains a signature and I need to print it at variable positions within the form. That is I need to print it in the MAIN window. The image does not get printed when a page break occurs when outputing the text element containing the picture. If the page break occurs when outputing any (other) text, the image is printed correctly (after that text).
    Has anybody else encountered this problem? Could it be a sapscript bug?
    Thx in advance.

  • Image not printing in CS5

    I have a strange issue with my Epson R3880 printer:  when I make up a composite image in Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 by cutting and pasting from various other images (then flattening the layers), I cannot get it to print although the printer goes through the motions, but nothing appears on the paper; also the print head doesn't attempt to print over that part of the paper where the image should be appearing (I'm actually doing proofing). I've done everything I can think of - I've reinstalled Photoshop and the latest printer drivers, and tried to print it in other applications (Photoshop Elements and Gimp). Any other images (ie non-cut and paste) print satisfactorily.  I did speak to someone on the Epson help desk who told me he thought it was a Photoshop problem, but the fact that the image won't print in Gimp suggests this may not be the case. The only thing I can think is that something in CS5 which created the image causes an allergic reaction in the printer! I'm running Vista x64. Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

    Metadata. Check the files and strip it or save to a format that doesn't support it in teh first place. Perhaps the copy&paste messes up some stuff on that level such as DPI flags or stored printer data...

  • My Image CLASS MF4350d printer is not recognized by windows 8-64 bit

    My Image CLASS MF4350d printer is not recognized by windows 8-64 bit any help how can i fix the problem. I just bought new HP computer from Future shop and it came with Windows in it. but this windows8 doesnt have drivers for my printer Image Class MF 4350d. Now I hve no clue how can i fix this isue. Because I checked on Canon website for drivers and downloaded and run the drivers, but no solution for my printer at all.

    Yes. I have the latest version intalled but this hasnt helped.
    I thought it could be to do with the Shuffle not having enough of a battery charge.
    So i plugged it into the wall charger and then tried this didnt work either.
    It wont even play music for some reason. The only information I get in the earpiece when I turn it on is what the battery level is at.

  • List style not visible in printed documentation

    Robohelp 8.0.2
    Is this a bug???  I opted to use a numbered list style rather than a numbered paragraph style to label procedural steps.  The advantage of a list style is that skip numbering would not work properly using the paragraph style. i.e.:
    'Steps' Paragraph style with numbering associated:
    First step.
              Result of first step.
    Second step.            * Bullets and Numbering does not allow me to consistently "Restart numbering at 2" (and HTML this produces is faulty).
    'NumberedStep' List style with numbering:
       1.  First step.
               Result of first step.
       2.  Second step.               * Bullets and Numbering allow me to consistently "Restart numbering at 2."
    Now I see the consequences of my decision:  My 'NumberedStep' style is not included in the styles dropdown.  Inconvenient, but not itself the end of the world.
    The real problem is this:  Printed Documents are not consistent with the style defined in 'NumberedStep'.
    The font is larger than it should be, and indents are all over the place:
    This is the selection I made on Generate Printed Document:
    On first review, all the styles in my source translated easily to Word, but the style for NumberedStep text was not.  That text is now 'Normal'.
    I've hunted high and low to solve this issue, so a direct reply is appreciated.
