Footer image not resizing in printed documentation

RH11
Does anyone know why an image inserted into a footer master page is not automatically resizing to the width of the printed page when applied to a print layout and output to Word? If you insert an image into the body of a topic or a master page and generate printed documentation, the image automatically resizes.
I'm trying to insert a high-res footer image (300 dpi) into my footer so that it appears on every page, but at the moment it's being embedded at full-size.
Thanks
Jonathan

Firstly, your better off using liststyles than paragraph list styles, I screwed around a long time before I had to set everything to liststyles rather than paragraph ones. So dont worry about that.
The first issue, of not seeing the style - it is there, if you open the Styles tab on screen (click in a topic to get the cursor, then Format > Styles), not just the dropdown like youve shown youll see a list of all your styles, almost, it will show paragraph styles, click the drop-down and select All available styles, this will display your list styles as well!
Im not sure about the style settings, I have the same text setting applied in my list style as I use for my 'normal' text. Though I think you can select the text in a list and apply a paragraph style to it....i just tried and it worked, but to be on the safe side you might want to set the text formatting in the list style css too..
mine looks like this
li.NumberList {
    font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 10pt;
    color: #524C45;
    list-style: decimal;
    margin-bottom: 6pt;
    margin-top: 6pt;
As for printed formats not indenting lists, this is an issue. So far I have found no way around it because you cannot map a  list styles in RH to a list style in Word. This has also created errors for line spacing and indents - and  I found the indents are severly messed up when using list styles in snippets. Everytime I create printed documentation I have to manually fix it, a pain but it doesnt take too long....you could use macros etc to speed it all up for you.

  • Automatically Image-Resize On Printed Documentation Output

    Hello,
    I'm again
    I have one new problem.
    If I generate a printed documentation as *.docx file, RoboHelp is resizing my images.
    I insert screenshots in the topics und gave them new width and height values.
    If I generate the output as *.docx, RoboHelp take my image, keep the width, but resets the height to the original one. So I have horrible stretched pictures
    How can I solve this problem?
    Does somebody maybe know it?
    Cheerio,
    Denis

    By "export" I take it you mean create a printed document.
    See if it happens in a new project and if it does, then it looks like a bug.

  • Flexible web template image not resizing

    I have created a flexible web template using div tags. This is very basic layout. Header,menubar, sidebar ,content,  and footer. I am having a problem with images in the flexible content area. If I resize the page the image does not resize. I have placed the image inside a div tag but it is not flexible like the content div tag. I want to be able to resize the page and have the images resize as I drag the page over. Any ideas on this ?

    The simplest way to fill a liquid division is to make a small image tile and repeat it in background with CSS code:
    Example:
    body {
    background: url (my-bg-img.jpg) repeat;

  • List style not visible in printed documentation

    Robohelp 8.0.2
    Is this a bug???  I opted to use a numbered list style rather than a numbered paragraph style to label procedural steps.  The advantage of a list style is that skip numbering would not work properly using the paragraph style. i.e.:
    'Steps' Paragraph style with numbering associated:
    First step.
              Result of first step.
    Second step.            * Bullets and Numbering does not allow me to consistently "Restart numbering at 2" (and HTML this produces is faulty).
    'NumberedStep' List style with numbering:
       1.  First step.
               Result of first step.
       2.  Second step.               * Bullets and Numbering allow me to consistently "Restart numbering at 2."
    Now I see the consequences of my decision:  My 'NumberedStep' style is not included in the styles dropdown.  Inconvenient, but not itself the end of the world.
    The real problem is this:  Printed Documents are not consistent with the style defined in 'NumberedStep'.
    The font is larger than it should be, and indents are all over the place:
    This is the selection I made on Generate Printed Document:
    On first review, all the styles in my source translated easily to Word, but the style for NumberedStep text was not.  That text is now 'Normal'.
    I've hunted high and low to solve this issue, so a direct reply is appreciated.

  • Hyperlinks not retained in printed documentation

  • Placeholders (breadcrumbs, Mini-TOCs) not showing in Printed Documentation

    I've included Placeholders (breadcrumbs and Mini-TOCs) in Master Pages. They work as expected for the HTMLHelp output, but when I generate Printed Documentation (.doc), they aren't there.
    I checked to make sure that I didn't accidentally assign them an online-only condition (I didn't).
    I'm using RoboHelp 9 (RH9). Do I need to do something special?  I just tried specifically applying the Print condition to the breadcrumbs in the footer and using that condition in the build, but that didn't help.

    You don't get breadcrumbs or mini tocs in printed documentation.
    I haven't viewed the lack of breadcrumbs as a problem as they are merely a means of navigating on screen and would be of no value in hard copy. Mini Tocs however describe what is in that "chapter" and should be included.

  • Remote image not resizing

    I have created a web service that pulls images (gif) from the
    database and base64 it for sending across the wire. The flex
    application then decodes and renders the image. The Image is not
    being scaled correctly. If I embed the image into the application
    everything works correctly. But if the image is decoded then sizing
    goes out the window.
    The image overflows the Image box and takes up the full size
    of the image. Zoom, rotation, etc. do nothing to the image.
    Any help is appreciated...
    Example Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="absolute" creationComplete="onLoad(event);">

    var decoder:Base64Decoder = new Base64Decoder();
    decoder.decode(base64);

  • Mouse over images not resizing correctly in Safari

    I have a series of thumbnail images of different sizes that, by using MouseOver, cause a larger image to appear. Safari only seems to resize "larger" and doesn't resize "smaller" resulting in distorted images. This site works fine in every other browser I can lay my hands on. I have managed to get a similar site to work fine but I don't really see the difference between the two. Any ideas on what I need to do? Site that doesn't work www.IllustriousPlay.com/test/Portfolio.html Site that does work www.IllustriousPlay.com/Page1.html Run your mouse over the various images. (Be warned I'm tinkering with the site, so it may have other things wrong with it.)

    I see the distortions.

  • Generating pdf output with webhelp look and functionality not like a print documentation

    Hi I have been using robohelp webhelp for our company online help documentation. Can I generate pdf output which has the same look and functionality as that of webhelp, using robohelp??

    Welcome to our community
    While you may certainly generate a PDF that contains the same information, it likely will not look exactly like WebHelp and it certainly will not behave as WebHelp.
    WebHelp is intended for on-line use while the PDF is really intended for printing if one chooses to.

  • Images not resizing properly when relinking/updating

    Hi all,
    I'm currently using InDesign CS on OS10.5.5
    Until last week, I was using CS on OS10.4.?
    Can anyone tell me if the reason my images no longer update/relink to the correct size in InDesign is an issue with running cronky old CS on Leopard?
    I know this feature is an option in CS3 or later but I can find no reference to it for earlier versions and I'm wondering how come it did this in the first place. I never used to have to manually enlarge images back to 100% in InDesign after resizing them (in Photoshop).
    I always resize my images down to the size they appear on the page for two reasons: 1) To prevent problems in PDF distilling and 2) To keep archive space usage down.
    I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
    Thanks.
    S

    What is the slide quality? Default setting is Low (8-bit), depending on your JPEG-image quality this may be too low. Try to change to High or Optimized and see if this is better.

  • Images not in printed documentation

    When generating printed documentation from RH7 (selecting
    embed images, MS Word doc, etc.), the images do not show up in the
    results. All I see are the {bmc <file name>.bmp} references.
    I know this worked in version 5 and I read the release update for
    7.0.1 (which I installed) that indicates it was fixed; but no joy.
    BTW, I have tried this with a new test document, re-booted the
    computer, etc.
    What is going on here?

    A point of interest with this problem. I have noticed that,
    with this installation, when I highlight a true code image in my
    Word project file (indicated by {bmc <file name>.bmp} ) then
    click the "New Help Image" button (or use Ctrl-G) the image view on
    the General tab (Insert Help Image Window) is vacant. This is
    interesting, in that, as I recall in RH5 it would show the graphic
    that was selected. For some reason this installation is not making
    the connection back to the inserted image. I'm thinking this is the
    root of the problem. Now, the question is: How do I correct it?
    Also, you will note that I previously indicated "this
    installation". This is due to my experimenting with an installation
    on a different computer (it never having any prior version of a RH
    installation) and the Printed Documentation feature works - sort
    of. The issue I see on that computer is at the end of the process
    RH7 shuts down. It doesn't lock up, it literally closes before the
    final step where the pop up dialog box indicating the process
    completed, and provides the view file button, is shown. However, I
    can find the word document it created an view it - interesting
    behavior.

  • Some images do not print when in printed documentation

    I have been encountering this problem for over a year now...
    I maintain over 20 projects in RoboHelp HTML. I have numerous
    printed document layouts defined. However, in what appears to be
    random situations, some of my images do not print. They display
    online just fine, but they are not visible in the printed
    documentation. Only a blank gap displays where the image should
    display. And there is no conditional build tag applied to any of
    these images. The reason I think it is random is because, if I
    perform the following test, the images print just fine:
    - duplicate the printed documentation layout
    - remove, from the duplicate copy, all of the pages
    surrounding a page that contains an image that does not print
    - generate the duplicate copy

    I had a similar problem with missing images. I never really
    solved it, but it (apparently) went away. One thing which helped
    was ensuring that none of my images had filenames containing
    spaces.
    In addition, selecting Link images rather than Embed can be
    useful; missing images are then replaced by a red cross which makes
    it easier to locate the problem.
    Also, in Word, you should uncheck Tools > Options >
    Print > Update Fields (that is for Word 2003).
    --- Derek

  • Printed documentation does not display some images in PDF

    Some of the images in my printed documentation do not display
    in my PDF. The majority of the images display fine, but a few are
    missing. There is a gap where the image is supposed to appear, but
    no image displays.
    Am using RoboHelp 6.0 for HTML

    Do they appear in Word? What version of Word? Is it always
    the same images? How much RAM do you have?

  • Resizing images in printed documentation

    I have Robohelp 10.  Is there a way to resize all images to 80% when creating a word and pdf document.  If I create an image style to 80%, it is ignored when creating printed documentation but works for online HTML help.

    Hi there
    From what I'm reading, it would seem that you are using CSS to present images at 80%, no?
    If that's the case, it would seem you want your images presented at 80% of original size regardless of whether they are presented on the screen or whether you are creating printed output. And if that's the case, I'll ask the obvious question.
    Why don't you simply scale them to 80% before inserting them into the project? Wouldn't that solve the issue and eliminate any need to create a CSS rule to scale the image?
    Additionally, by scaling in the browser you are likely causing horrible loss of quality. And causing the page to take longer to load because the larger image is being loaded when the page is viewed.
    Cheers... Rick
