Images with clean lines show up with steping

I'm building some site content with flash and having a heck
of a time with "stepping" or pixelized looking edges on
very good quality crisp images. How can I stop this from
happening?
I have also found this when creating flash galleries through
Lightroom.
So I'm guessing it has something to do with either the
default way flash compresses or handles the image.
How can I resolve this?
There must be a way to stop flash from doing this.

No there is no rotation applied to any images.
However many of the shots are architectural images and have
lines which are not 90 or 180 degrees.
these are the ones that show problems. Jagged edges which are
not cool and degrade the images
that are a very large part of the visual user experience.
Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix
it?

  • Image with transparent background shows up with a white background in ID

    Amateur needs help.
I have a copy of a logo with a transparent background.  I made the (white) background transparent in PS by creating a layer from background and then selecting the white color in the background and deleting it.  This has always worked in the past.  But when I place this image into ID, it shows up with a white background.  I have tried saving as a PSD, TIF, JPG, etc.  I cannot get it to work.
I normally research these things until I find an answer, but I am on a tight deadline.  Thanks!

I totally forgot to put that in my post.  Yes, I am putting logos with transparent backgrounds in front of colored rectangles.  That's how I noticed that this one logo is showing up with a white background.  The weird thing is that the other two logos are fine.  I did find a different version of this logo and this one works fine.  The one that works fine is a JPG and the one that shows up with a white background is a JPG.

  • Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome

Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome. Works in IE. This is my first time trying to post a question - so please be kind. I am also not good with code and am finding css a real challenge after learning to design based on tables. I'm using CS5.
The "test" page with the slide show is: http://www.reardanwa.com/index-slides.html   The same page without the slide show is http://www.reardanwa.com/
I realize the images are not ideally sized - I'll fix those once I get the pages to function.  Maybe I need a different slide show? I would prefer a widget that I can modify to required size & postition. Again - I'm not good at building with code from scratch.
The problem is the naviagation links that are directly next to the slide show do not work in Firefox of Chrome. They do work in IE.
I've read about using jQuery.noConflict(); code but can't figure out the correct way to use it in my case or whether that's even part of the solution. I know my code is not well organized as I have cobbled together from various sources in an attempt to format the page the way the client wants it. Also, FYI, I will eventually try to make the page work in Surreal CMS.
I've spent sevaral days over the last several weeks trying to solve sth slide show/navigation conflict - so any specific light you can shed will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

No, there is no brush cursor option with two outlines. The Full Sized brush Tip might be your best option, because it at least shows the full extent of the brush including any feather, if any.   This is the way I work, if it helps.

In Preferences > Interface uncheck 'Open documents in Tabs' or if already open, go Window > Arrange > Float in Windows

  • Whenever I hover over a tab, or other click-able item, an symbol with a red circle with diagonal line shows up. All sites do this. I downloaded FireFox four (4.0) yesterday, and that's when it began. What's going on? How do I stop this?

When I hover the curser over the box I'm writing this in, but before an characters have been typed, the symbol keeps showing up, on and off.

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

  • Problems with tv not showing up with 5900xt

Alright i have a msi 5900xt and up until recently, i could use the video out to watch dvd's on my tv.  I only use the reference drivers from nvidia and have tried the 53.03, 56.62, and the 56.72.  It used to work perfectly with the 53.03's and now i get nothing.  My tv isn't showing up at all and i have checked all cables for proper insertion and they are all fine.  I am confused on this one and have run out of possible fixes.  please help if you can.
    thanks

I tried that and now i have the option to output to a tv, it just isn't showing up on the tv.  I have an s-video cable running into the video 2 on my tv from my vid card.  So here is what i do, to no avail, I turn the tv to vid 2 and then change my output device to the tv.  The monitor goes blank but the tv stays blank too.  then after it switches back to the monitor again, i can see what i am doing, just not on the tv.

My Dad's Ipod video, bought just yesterday was taken from the box, I connected it to my computer to download the songs from my itunes to it for him but My brother for some reason clicked and held the middle key and menu key at same time there fore resetting it. It should have done nothing and been fine but now when i try to turn it on it shows the apple icon then the warning sign with folder icon and then powers down. Its fully charged, I tried restoring software, and setting it to disk mode doesnt help its still acting up.
Please help me if you know how to fix this i want to fix it before he notices. Also is tehre a specific way to get out of disk mode? PLEASE HELP!

You need to re-format the hard drive on the iPod. Not knowing which generation it is, I'll assume you're using USB. The procudure goes like this: first un-install both iTunes and any updater software you may have. Download the latest updater and run it first. Hopefully, the computer will recognize the iPod and you can proceed to re-format the iPod using the updater. Once that is done, disconnect the iPod. Now,install iTunes. Re-connect the iPod and iTunes will give the option of either synching automatically at that moment or not synching at all.

  • With header line & with out header line ?

what is difference between with header line & without header line ?

When you create an internal table object you can also declare a header line with the same name. You can use the header line as a work area when you process the internal table. The ABAP statements that you use with internal tables have short forms that you can use if your internal table has a header line. These statements automatically assume the header line as an implicit work area. The following table shows the statements that you must use for internal tables without a header line, and the equivalent statements that you can use for internal tables with a header line:
    Operations without header line
    Operations with header line
    Operations for all Table Types
    INSERT <wa> INTO TABLE <itab>.
    INSERT TABLE ITAB.
    COLLECT <wa> INTO <itab>.
    COLLECT <itab>.
    READ TABLE <itab> ... INTO <wa>.
    READ TABLE <itab> ...
    MODIFY TABLE <itab> FROM <wa> ...
    MODIFY TABLE <itab> ...
    MODIFY <itab> FROM <wa> ...WHERE ...
    MODIFY <itab> ... WHERE ...
    DELETE TABLE <itab> FROM <wa>.
    DELETE TABLE <itab>.
LOOP AT ITAB INTO <wa> ...
    LOOP AT ITAB ...
    Operations for Index Tables
    APPEND <wa> TO <itab>.
    APPEND <itab>.
    INSERT <wa> INTO <itab> ...
    INSERT <itab> ...
    MODIFY <itab> FROM <wa> ...
    MODIFY <itab> ...
Using the header line as a work area means that you can use shorter statements; however, they are not necessarily easier to understand, since you cannot immediately recognize the origin and target of the assignment. Furthermore, the fact that the table and its header line have the same name can cause confusion in operations with entire internal tables. To avoid confusion, you should use internal tables with differently-named work areas.
The following example shows two programs with the same function. One uses a header line, the other does not.
    With header line:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF LINE,
    COL1 TYPE I,
    COL2 TYPE I,
    END OF LINE.
DATA ITAB TYPE HASHED TABLE OF LINE WITH UNIQUE KEY COL1
    WITH HEADER LINE.
    DO 4 TIMES.
    ITAB-COL1 = SY-INDEX.
    ITAB-COL2 = SY-INDEX ** 2.
    INSERT TABLE ITAB.
    ENDDO.
    ITAB-COL1 = 2.
    READ TABLE ITAB FROM ITAB.
    ITAB-COL2 = 100.
    MODIFY TABLE ITAB.
    ITAB-COL1 = 4.
    DELETE TABLE ITAB.
    LOOP AT ITAB.
    WRITE: / ITAB-COL1, ITAB-COL2.
    ENDLOOP.
    Without header line:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF LINE,
    COL1 TYPE I,
    COL2 TYPE I,
    END OF LINE.
DATA: ITAB TYPE HASHED TABLE OF LINE WITH UNIQUE KEY COL1,
    WA LIKE LINE OF ITAB.
    DO 4 TIMES.
    WA-COL1 = SY-INDEX.
    WA-COL2 = SY-INDEX ** 2.
    INSERT WA INTO TABLE ITAB.
    ENDDO.
    WA-COL1 = 2.
READ TABLE ITAB FROM WA INTO WA.
    WA-COL2 = 100.
    MODIFY TABLE ITAB FROM WA.
    WA-COL1 = 4.
    DELETE TABLE ITAB FROM WA.
    LOOP AT ITAB INTO WA.
    WRITE: / WA-COL1, WA-COL2.
    ENDLOOP.
The list, in both cases, appears as follows:
    1 1
    2 100
    3 9
The statements in the program that does not use a header line are easier to understand. As a further measure, you could have a further work area just to specify the key of the internal table, but to which no other values from the table are assigned.
    Internal table with header line
you can use anywhere except obkect oriented concept.
Internal table without header line :
You should use in Object oriented concept..
Always try to use without header line, performance point of view it is best..
    Example :
    Without header line.
    Structure
    types : begin of ty_itab ,
    matnr type mara-matnr,
    end of ty_itab.
    Internal table
data i_itab type standard table of ty_itab .
    Work area
data wa_itab like line of i_itab
    With header line
    data : begin of i_itab occurs 0,
    matnr like mara-matnr,
    end of i_itab
itab with header lines are obsolete, anyway it will work but not recommended. instead use work area or more effiecient is field symbols. so donot use itab with header line.
i will explain use of itab w/o header line.
Data: itab1 type standard table of mara with header line occurs 0,
itab2 type standard table of mara,
            wa_itab2 type mara.
    loop at itab1.
    "This will work fine.
    endloop.
    loop at itab2.
"This will give erro that itabd does not hav workarea
    endloop.
    "so write
    loop at itab2 into wa_itab2.
    "This will work
    endloop.
    <b>The difference between
whih header line and with out heater line of internal table.
    ex:-
    a) Data : itab like mara occurs 0 with header line.
    b) Data: itab like mara occurs 0.
-While adding or retrieving records to / from internal table we have to keep the record temporarily.
-The area where this record is kept is called as work area for the internal table.
-The area must have the same structure as that of internal table. An internal table consists of a body and an optional header line.
-Header line is a implicit work area for the internal table. It depends on how the internal table is declared that the itab will have the header line or not.
    a) Data : itab like mara occurs 0 with header line.
    table is with header line
    b) Data: itab like mara occurs 0.
    table is without header line</b>

  • Advanced line art tracing with pen/pad tutorial ...

In the past I had used stock vector illustrations and creatively assembled them with some typography to get a result that was acceptable to me.
But recently, i've really taken a liking to the style/look of one of our competitors in the market (see below) ...
The above image is a line drawing colored with marker and airbrush (physical marker and airbrush, not digital) then is scanned, composed and the text is put in via Illustrator (or Corel).
I REALLY like this companies artwork because it's all custom and the visuals fit the title of the item very closely.
However, while my line drawing skill is up to par with the above, I never bothered to hand draw anything due to the time it took to trace out in Illustrator with a mouse using the pen tool.
That said, I've been impressed by a similar (but all vector) style that I recently found on thinkstock.com and it would seem like this guy is using a stylus/pad to actually trace his lines freehand straight into Illustrator?
Oddly enough, in all my years of designing ... I've NEVER used a styles/pad (I think touched one once) because it always seemed like one of those odd peripherals that you either loved or you didn't ... like a track ball! And back in the day it wasn't as effective or useful as I think it may be now.
But I'm starting to think that for the type of illustration seen above, it's an essential tool.
So can anyone recommend a good stylus/pad and direct me to some good tutorials on the basics of using it for tracing and coloring line art?
    Thanks!

But I'm starting to think that for the type of illustration seen above, it's an essential tool.
Where in the world do you get this idea? There is nothing in the artwork you depict that suggests it was done using a stylus. And a stylus is certainly not necessary for it.
A stylus is just another pointing device. You can do the artwork you depicted with a mouse just fine. Using a stylus is just a simple matter of personal preference. I, for one, have bought Wacom tablets since they first appeared (DIN8 serial model on the Mac). I have never liked them for anything other than pressure-sensitive "painting" in programs like Painter, and not always there, either. I find them awkward and tedious.
Your curiosity will not be satisfied until you try one. So try one. But they are certainly not required for commercial-quality work.

  • How to combine a bar with a line in a chart

We want to combine data in bars and with a line showing in one chart.
Is that possible? How do you configure your chart?
The line and the bars are based on the values from different fields in the same table.

  • Show rows with empty values

    Hello,
We are creating a cross tab report, with products as the columns, and relationship managers with direct and shared revenue displayed across the rows.
    For Eg
    Relationship Manager    Coverage         Product1   Product2   Product3   Product4
    Bob                                Direct                 100,           0,               35,            50
                                          Shared                0,              0,               15,            0
    Alex                               Direct                  15,            25,             40,            10
                                          Shared                5,              0,               5,               0
    George                          Direct                  0,               0,              0,               30
                                          Shared                0,               0,              0,               5
The problem lies when either one of the products has no values, or one of the relationship managers has no direct or shared revenues. If one of the products has no revenues, it disappears, and also when one of the RMs has no direct or shared revenues, the Direct or Shared row disappears.
I have tried to create a second query just included the Coverage variable, and using this variable in Query 2 with the RM variable from query 1, along with checking the "Show Rows with Empty Measure values", "Show Rows with Empty Dimension Values" and "Show when empty", but it still does not appear to work.
It only shows rows with values in them, and shows the rows with empty values at the end with no RM.
I have not tried to solve for empty columns yet.
Help with this would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!
    Thank you

    Hi ,
I think you can resolve this issue following ways ,
you need create another query  ( Ex :Qauery2 ) add Product object and RM (Direct, shared) object only without  conation. So now query2 result wil have all product and RM(Direct, shared).
Merge the Product object and RM  between query1 and query2
Now create table using Product and RM from query2 and measure value from query1.  Now you will get row even there is no data.
If you want try this sample report using efasion unvierse.
    1) Add year ,state and Discount objects  and apply condition Year Not in list "2004"  and state Not in list "California "
    2) run this query and create the cross tab table . Now you will not get 2004 column  and California row in table.
    3) Create query2 add Year and State only without any condition , run the query. Now query 2 will display all state and year .
    4) Merge the column Year and State between query1 and query2
    4) Create the cross table ussing Year and state from query2 and Discount from Query1
Now cross table will show 2004 and California ,even there is not in query 1.
I hope this will help you.

I have been having a couple of problems with my imac and it said to do a clean install so i then copied an image of my hard drive and followed the instructions such as delete and formate the disc and then reboot the system with the setup disc in it i then did this and followed the instructions but i then came back to the system to find it had powered off for some reason so i then tried to reboot it and the apple in the middle of the screen then changes to a circle with a line through it has anybody got any ideas or do i think the worst and look for a new hard drive oh i forgot to mension it will not eject the setup disc!!!!

It sounds like your hard disk is not accessible, I would first you need to start your iMac with the system DVD that came with your system, then format the hard drive with disk utility, then install the Mac OS X on to your newly formatted drive.

  • In Mail, the "From" line shows the wrong name associated with the email id. How do I update it?

In Mail, the "From" line shows the wrong name associated with my email ID. I've looked over preferences and account information but have not found where I can update it.

There isn't an email address associated with the contact name who appears as the "from" in Mail. It used to be a shared email address and I already had updated the contact to list only the phone number in case that was causing the problem.

  • "Create Comment Summary" not showing in Pro 10.1.7?? How can I print document and comments with connector lines on single page?

Adobe's instructions for Acrobat X Pro say that to print the document with connector lines on the same page, I should go from the menu to "Print With Comments Summary." I'm using version 10.1.7 and that option doesn't show up. My menu bar looks like this:
and my print dialog box looks like this:
And if I go to Commenting under Preferences I get this:
I don't see any of the comment printing options Adobe refers to in their instructions. Am I looking in the wrong place for the option to print comments on the same page as the document? Or is there some reason this is not available?

    Hey Dan,
    With this call:
    DAQmxErrChk ( DAQmxCreateDOChan( taskhandle, "Dev1/PFI0:7","", DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines ) );
You're trying to write to the PFI lines, which are part of port 1. Only the 8 lines on port 0 "Dev1/port0" support clocked/correlated DIO, port 1 only supports static/SW timed DIO (which is what you are using) and counter timer opperations. To do buffered output, check out the Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk shipping example at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C\Digital\Generate Values\Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk
when you use this, you'll need to specify an external clock - M-Series DIO does not have its own timing engine so it has to get its clock signal from somewhere else. Most just use an onboard counter to generate a clocking signal, so the Dig-Pulse Train Cont example under counters can be combined with this.
Most of this is covered in the M-Series user manual, though I realize its not exactly lite reading
    Hope this gets you started,

  • How can I exchange all the images in a slide show with new ones

I have 18 slide shows each is a different competition for our camera club. How can I exchange all the images from each slide show with new images as our club competitions commence? I am reluctant to just delete the slide show because I will have set it all back up. I want to leave the size shape and format of the show as is, but just exchange all of the current images with new ones. I am hoping there is a quick way to delete and replace all images for each show? Each slide show has around 40 images and I have 18 shows
    thank you for your help
