Imaging and deploying Win 7 using ZCM11 RC3

How do I use ZCM11 RC3 to image and deploy Win 7 over my network?
I have just installed ZCM11 on our servers here and have done the discovery and inventory process. I am new to ZCM and am not sure how to do the imaging? Nothing seems to happen when I select a workstation and choose it for imaging. Also wondering, where I could find some best practices that would help in the roll-out.
Thanks,
Jithin

Right now, I have mounted a volume to the 'content-repo\images' directory.
Another question is whether the image is HAL-dependent? Would I be able to load it to a different workstation with dissimlar hardware..Its just a base image with Win 7 - clean install. Thanks
As far as I know it's very tricky and maybe even not possible to do imaging without disabling firewall. What you could do is have a separate ZCM server that only does imaging..
If you run ZCM on linux then you might be able to mount a samba share or a different HD under /var/opt/novell/zenworks/content-repo/images/yoursmbshareorharddisk.
Use sysprep to create a "base" image and then use addon images that apply computer specific drivers.
There in an online traing course (ATT Online - Migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7 using ZENWorks Configuration Management) that walk you trough how to do this:
Novell North America Training Registration
Lab sessions include:
* Session 1. Configuring the Technician's Computer
* Session 2. Configuring ZENworks Configuration Management Personality Migration
* Session 3. Building the Sysprep XML Answer File
* Session 4. Configuring and imaging the Reference Computer
* Session 5. Creating add-on images using ZENworks Configuration Management Image Explorer
* Session 6. Deploying the new Windows 7 SOS environment with add-ons

    I scanned an image and want to use the image trace tool, but it doesn't pick up all the lines.  Is there a way to darken the lines before using the image trace tool?  Help!

    If the scan is in B&W, then play with the Threshold setting here
    If it's in Color, then you will have to open the scan in a Raster editing software (like Photoshop) and play with the Brightness/Contrast settings to make the lines bolder.

    Hello,
    I need to know if is posible to capture an image or a screen region and save it using action scrip.

    you can capture an image using the bitmapdata class and getPixel().  you can then save that to a bitmap using server-side code like php.

  • Zooming an image and scrolling it using a JScrollPane

    Hi all, I know this is one of the most common problems in this forum but i cant get any of the replys to work in my code.
    The problem:
    I create an image with varying pixel colors depending on the value obtained from an AbstractTableModel and display it to the screen.
    I then wish to be able to zoom in on the image and make it scrollable as required.
    At the minute the scrolling method is working but only when i resize or un-focus and re-focus the JInternalFrame. Ive tried calling revalidate (and various other options) on the JScrollPane within the paintComponents(Graphics g) method but all to no avail.
    Has anyone out there any ideas cause this is melting my head!

  • WinPE Error Capture and Deploy Win7 - SCCM 2012 R2 w/ CU1

    Hi Forum
    Deploy and Capture: Windows 7 x64
    SCCM Primary single site server: Server 2012 R2
    Version: SCCM 2012 R2 w/ CU1
    Environment is Hyper-V on Windows 8.1, deploying to a Gen1 VM with a legacy adapter.
    I am running into an issue whilst building a lab environment. I have built a Capture and Deploy TS (using the standard TS, ie not MDT although this is integrated) and deployed to an imported machine using the MAC address via PXE. Custom Client package has
    been created and put against the TS.
    The machine picks up the PXE response and boots into the SCCM WinPE environment and I choose the TS. The only currently available TS is the Build and Capture.
    It runs through the TS restarting at various points as expected and then after the Client Manager package is installed it restarts and runs the TS... at this point it starts saying. "Initiating Hardware Devices.." (or something to that effect).
    It does this for about 15 seconds before I get this error:
    Windows PE initialization failed with error code 0x8022001B
    Seen here:
    I am unable to get the cmd prompt up at this point and it will restart and carry on a normal build, no TS running, meaning no capture.
    If any can advise, please do.
    Thanks in advance
    NN

    Hyper-V should work fine without any drivers injected, and you did your VM correctly.
    During this error, what you see in a back ground, ConfMgr wallpaper or Windows 7 black first-run screen "preparing/first run"? I´m just thinking, is there any chance, that you have additional restart step set to boot to WinPE, instead of booting
    to default OS?
    Otherwise, you will need to be able to Access CMD with F8 for more troubleshooting. Make sure you have F8 command Support enabled on boot image and re-distrubute it. Or create new boot image as Peter suggested.

  • Send HTML Email with Embedded Images and CSS

    Hi All,
    I have a html page. I want to send that html page(not with attachment) with all images and css. i search and try but I cant find a good solution. can any one help... plz..........
    Thank You.....

    If you want to send the html page and have it
    reference the images and css files on your web
    site, that's pretty easy. Just create a message
    with text/html content that is your html page.
    If you want to include all the images and css files
    in your message along with the html page, you'll
    need to create a multipart/related message and
    you'll need to change all the html to reference the
    images and css files using "cid:" references.

  • How to create Agreement Configuration and deploy it

    Hi All,
    Through self-service API's we are able to create the agrement. How to I create the configuration for the same and deploy it using java/pl-sql code ... any sample code and example file...???
    Regards,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
    You can use self-service API to deploy configuration using a JAVA program or command line. To use it in the command line-
    1. java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.selfservice.TradingPartnerManager --- creates the Trading Partner profiles from the specified XML file
    2. java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.selfservice.AgreementManager creates agreements from the specified XML file
    To use it in the JAVA -
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(tpFile);
    InputSource is = new InputSource(fis);
    TradingPartnerManager tpMgr = TradingPartnerManager.newInstance();
    tpMgr.init();
    if (args.length == 2) {
    tpMgr.processTPProfiles(is, true);
    } else {
    tpMgr.processTPProfiles(is, false);
    tpMgr.shutdown();
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(tpFile);
    InputSource is = new InputSource(fis);
    AgreementManager agreementMgr = AgreementManager.newInstance();
    agreementMgr.init();
    agreementMgr.processAgreements(is);
    agreementMgr.shutdown();

  • MDT Capturing an new image after deployment

    Hi
       I have captured a reference image and deployed it. I edited the custom.ini file and bootstrap to have practically zero touch deployment. I did find that I had to connect to the mdt server and run litetouch.vbs to capture the image from the reference
    machine. My question is once the deployment was done I wanted to capture a new image from a new reference machine and wasn't able to do it when running litetouch.vbs. It would through out an error of cant find ini. I uninstalled mdt and reinstalled it with
    adk and can now capture again. Is there another way? I don't want to have to uninstall mdt each time. Is this because I edited the custom.ini file ?

  • How to use the Rectangle class to draw an image and center it in a JPanel

    I sent an earlier post on how to center an image in a JPanel using the Rectangle class. I was asked to send an executable code which will show the malfunction. The code below is an executable code and a small part of a very big project. To simplifiy things, it is just a JFrame and a JPanel with an open dialog. Once executed the JFrame and the FileDialog will open. You can then navigate to a .gif or a .jpg picture and open it. What I want is for the picture to be centered in the middle of the JPanel and not the upper left corner. It is also important to stress that, I am usinig the Rectangle class to draw the Image. The region of interest is where the rectangle is created. In the constructor of the CenterRect class, I initialize the Rectangle class. Then I use paintComponent in the CenterRect class to draw the Image. The other classes are just support classes. The MyImage class is an extended image class which also has a draw() method. Any assistance in getting the Rectangle to show at the center of the JPanel without affecting the size and shape of the image will be greatly appreciated.
    I have divided the code into three parts. They are all supposed to be on one file in order to execute.
