IManager error 500 managing cluster services
I have a new OES11 tree with an OES11 cluster. All servers in the tree are OES11. I have the cluster plug installed in iManager and was able to successfully set up and configure the cluster. However, time to time as I go back to check the cluster for some reason, I am getting an iManager 500 error. I am logging in as admin and have tried from 3 different servers running iManager with same result.
I found TID 7010295 and made the sysctl changes that it specifies, however, it did not solve the problem. If I reboot the cluster, I can then manage again, at least in the short term until whatever happens to knock it out service again.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Will

Yes I agree that this has been long time issues. Here is something you can
try next time this happens so that you won't have to reboot. Do this atleast
on the server that is the Master_IP resource.
Just run at the prompt: rcsfcb restart
This hopefully will resolve it. I have had on occasion to have to run that
same command on all nodes in the cluster. It beats the heck out of
restarting the servers just to manage the cluster.

Error communicating with the Cluster Manage Web Service
Hi,
i connected oracle database with the Endeca Studio but while uploading Departments dataset i m getting this error
"Error communicating with the Cluster Manage Web Service" so plz can anyone explain me wat is this error about.
thanks in advanceI actually ran into this myself- as Pat notes, it's hard to say without seeing log files, but I think that perhaps the default domain profile that the Endeca Server uses for domains created using Provisioning services has not been created. First see what domain profiles exist. Navigate to wherever endeca-cmd lives (e.g., user_projects/domains/endeca_server_domain/EndecaServer/bin), and use the list-dd-profile command:
-bash-3.2$ ./endeca-cmd.sh list-dd-profiles
The profiles that exist will be returned in your terminal window:
prov_dd_profile
default
If you only see 'default', then you will need to create 'prov_dd_profile'
./endeca-cmd.sh put-dd-profile prov_dd_profile
Then try uploading your file again in Studio.

Error : Running Managed Servers in a cluster
Hi,
I tried creating a new domain from my local pc - by using the configuration wizard provided by weblogic.. the configuration used is like this -
Admin Server - adminServer - 1.1.1.19 - on port 7001
Managed servers - machines:ip's - port
1. mgndServer1 - 1.1.1.19 - 7011
2. mgndServer2 - 1.1.1.20 - 7011
mgndCluster defined as - mgndServer1:7011, mgndServer2:7011
node manager ; - 1.1.1.19 - 5555
In the last step i didnt check ( select box ) the WLI Start up , WLI Shutdown classes for the managed cluster , but Set the WLI Start up , shut down classes for admin server.
Started the admin server and from the admin console, state of the node manager was running , I tried starting the managed servers, but it failed with the below error - and managed servers never come into running state..

patrickHi,
<font color=red>OPTION-A)</font>
If you are able to start the Managed Server using ...the Start Scripts then it means that the Missing class gets included in the Server Classpath ....when we use StartScripts to Start the Server.
If above one works fine...then Just try the following..
Step1). Open the "nodemanager.properties" file and then "startScriptEnabled=true" and "startScriptName=startWebLogic.cmd" ....provide these two entries there....remember if you are using any custom scripts to start your managed server ...then give that scriptname in "startScriptName" parameter..
Step2). restart the Node Manager and then try to start the Managed Server from Admin Console.
for more informations Please refer to "nodemanager.properties" details:
http://download-llnw.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/nodemgr/java_nodemgr.html#wp1068415
<font color=red>OPTION-B)</font>
Start the ManagedServer using the StartScripts and then open the server OUT file....
Find the value of CLASSPATH in that OUT File ...copy the CLASSPATH Value and then Login to Admin Console....
Servers--->Click on ServerName (Example MS1)---> configuration Page ---> ServerStart (TAB)
In this page Paste the CLASSPATH Value which u have copied....in the CLASSPATH Test Field...
Now restart your Server using AdminConsole.

Error: Halting this cluster node due to unrecoverable service failure
Our cluster has experienced some sort of fault that has only become apparent today. The origin appears to have been nearly a month ago yet the symptoms have only just manifested.
The node in question is a standalone instance running a DistributedCache service with local storage. It output the following to stdout on Jan-22:
Coherence <Error>: Halting this cluster node due to unrecoverable service failure
It finally failed today with OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.
We're running coherence-3.5.2.jar.
Q1: It looks like this node failed on Jan-22 yet we did not notice. What is the best way to monitor node health?
Q2: What might the root cause be for such a fault?
I found the following in the logs:

It seems like the problem in this case is the call to clear() which will try to load all entries stored in the overflow scheme to emit potential cache events to listeners. This probably requires much more memory than there is Java heap available, hence the OOM.
Our recommendation in this case is to call destroy() since this will bypass the even firing.

I am *almost* all the way through provisioning my on premise SP 2013 farm for SharePoint 2013 Workflows. Workflow manager is installed alongside Service Bus. Workflow Manager client is installed on the SP servers. I built a new simple list-based
workflow in SP Designer 2013, saved it, and published it without any errors. However, when I go back to the list in my portal and try to run the workflow, I get the "Sorry, something went wrong" page, and the logs say this:

Some sort of "general server error" returns a 500 code, but I can't tell from this what the problem(s) might be. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks.Go to the server running Workflow Manager and open the Event Viewer; Applications and Services Logs; Microsoft-Workflow; Operational; and look for the underlying error. In our case, the CU for Workflow Manager did something to the SQL permissions and
we ended up using the workaraound described here:

Azure Cloud Service internal server error (500) while scaling up
I experienced multiple times that scaling up a Cloud Service from 1 (small) instance to 2 (small) instances causes a few minutes of downtime with request returning a an error 500. Is this how it's supposed to work?
Thanks for the reply!
Every initialization code is in OnStart() and in case of .cmd scripts, in <Startup> <Task>s inside the service definition... So I suppose until that is run to completion the Azure load balancer shouldn't dispatch any requests to the new instance.
I tested today everything again, this time with Windows Server 2012 R2 (the Cloud Service didn't use R2 before). The issue is the same:
Scaling up the service to two instance.
Second instance is being deployed and starts.
Requests going to the first instance work (i.e. since clients stick to their instance users who visited the site before the scale-up will continue to be serve through the first instance, hence not noticing anything). Requests going to the second instance
don't work (internal server error), but the main issue is that requests start to go to the second instance before it is fully initialized!
(I.e. Azure Management Portal says the role is starting, but still, I can manage to get my request to it, thus I suppose the load balancer does dispatch requests while the role is not fully started yet.)
Failed request tracing doesn't show anything related (it started to trace after the role got full initialized, but requests reached the instance before this). I can clearly see from the event logs that the ARR installation (run as a startup task) ended after
the first requests could reach it.
To summarize, when scaling up the following happens with the second, initializing instance:
The instance's state is correctly shown on the Management Portal and it's busy, starting.
The instance still gets requests before it gets fully started.
After the instance is fully started everything works normally.
Is this normal? -
HTTP Error 500.24 - Internal Server Error on Web service sdk
Hi, I have installed the mfa server on premise and tested successfully with sms and phone call. I wanted to try the Mobile app so I installed the Web service en the Mobile app according to instructions (changed the web.config with username
and password and url of web service sdk) but when I try to activate the app I get an error related to the web service sdk (also when I try the TestPfWsSdkConnection) : the error says
HTTP Error 500.24 - Internal Server Error
An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.
I try several thing but no luck.

Manage Taskflows - Internal error 500
Hi All,
HFM 9.3.1
I have one user and each time he clicks on manage taskflows or taskflow status in workspace, the following error comes up
ERROR 500—INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
And then a long java output.
Any ideas why? It's fine for other users
ThanksHere is the solution:
On the web server, locate and open the following file in a text editor: <<Hyperion_Home>>\common\httpServers\Apache\2.0.52\conf\httpd.conf
- The default value for the Timeout parameter is 300, set this value to 1200.
- Save and close the file
- Stop the Workspace service, restart the Apache service and start the Workspace service -
I am experiencing this error with one of our cluster environment. Can anyone help me in this issue.
The Cluster Service function call 'ClusterResourceControl' failed with error code '1008(An attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist.)' while verifying the file path. Verify that your failover cluster is configured properly.
Thanks,

Error 5 - An exception occurred in SMO while trying to manage a service
Hi
I use an instrument
made by myself in vb.net using SMO
objects to manage a mixed group of about
80 MS Sql Server (rel. 2005-2008 r2 & 2012)
With this tool I check the status of services,
change service accounts and their passwords,
etc.
A few days ago one server
started to return an error when I run
the first operation on any property of the object
ManagedComputer just created.
Error: "Error 5 - An exception occurred in SMO while trying to manage a service"
This is my code:
If UserID = "" Then
'//Use the credentials of current user
mc = New ManagedComputer(serverName)
Else
'// Use the credentials provided by interface
mc = New ManagedComputer(serverName, UserID, UserPsw)
End If
str = ""
For x = 0 To mc.Services.Count - 1
With mc.Services.Item(x)
servNome = .Parent.Name.ToUpper
srvNome = .Name
srvStato = .ServiceState.ToString
srvStartMode = .StartMode.ToString
srvAccount = .ServiceAccount
End If
End With
Next
The instruction mc.Services.Count generates the error below:
smoex = {"An exception occurred in SMO while trying to manage a service."}

The server not have problems and the local Sql Server Configuration Manager work fine.
I copied the tool on the server to run it
locally. Strangely, if I use the credentials of the current logged user the tool works
(mc = New ManagedComputer(serverName) )
If I provide explicit the credentials
(domain\username and password, but the same of user logged in the server)
is not working
( mc = New ManagedComputer(serverName, UserID, UserPsw) )
From a remote server instead
does not work in both modes.
The server configuration:os Win 2008 R2 EE Sp1 , Ms Sql 2008 R2 Sp2 10.50.4321
Any suggestion is
much appreciated
Many thanks in advanceHi Lydia
Thanks for your quick
response.
Unfortunately I had already considered this hypothesis
and the security settings on the object WMI
seems correct.
The user with which I run the program
is part of a domain's
group inserted into
the local administrators group. This group
has the flag "Remote Enable" active.
However, I verified that the
problem occurred since I updated my tool
to monitor and manage the new systems Sql
2012. The tool now uses objects
SMO 11.0 that I installed in the development environment,
and on server where it is scheduled
the tool, through the package
SharedManagementObjects.msi.
The documentation says that SMO 11 is
compatible with SQL 2005
and higher and, in fact, I only had problems
with one server. The old version of tool in fact work fine again.
This information will suggest
some ideas?
Thanks again

Services in transaction sicf failing with Internal Error 500
Hi all,
When I try to test a service in transaction sicf, by right clicking on it and saying Test service.
I am getting an error "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error". All the services are running fine in
smicm.
The version of SAP is ECC 5.0(only ABAP Stack), Oracle, Windows.
This happens for all the services.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
VishiHi Sharath,
I have selected all of them, clicked on publish, the I got a message saying "choose an ITS for publishing"
Using the message in performance assistant,
In se80, Utilities->settings, On the ITS tab under Publish choose the ITS server,
However, here the only options are
1. on all defined sites,
2. on selected site, print
3. to local directory.
Here, I have selected on all defined sites.
Got the message "Object published successfully; site All Defined Sites"
How to proceed further?
Thanks,
Vishi

Error while starting Oracle Management server service
Hi all,
We are about to administer our database using Oracle Enterprise manager. For that we have configured OEM in a Test PC and tried to connect our database.
First i have logged in to OEM Console with Sysman login id using the default password "oem_temp" and it prompts me to change the password, also i have changed the password as "xxxxx" and i have come out of OEM console and tried to relogin using the changed password.
i got the message as invalid login or password or
check for the availablity of Management server service"
i found that the service Oracle Management server which was previously running is not running now and i tried to restart that manually.
On doing that i got a message as
"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
Would any one of u help me to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance..Hi-- could you please describe your administrative domain?
I need to know the operating systems on each of the
clients and the OSB admin server. Also, does 'obtool' CLI
tool work? Do any of the machines act as an apache webserver
for another application? Is there any other backup service
running on any of the machines?
thanks,
Judy
I noticed that when re-installing the OSB without the
Administrative Server (only Media Server and Client)
I got no errors at all (but still cannot connect from
another Administratice Server to my machine) -
I can't log on to my itunes account. Keep getting the error: "Connection Manager::invoke::Failed to find service connection url". What can I do?
Hi, Buster1932.
I would recommend logging out of your account then logging back in. If the issue persists, see the article below.
