IMovie not seeing iPhoto in the Media Photos tab iMovie 6.0.3/iPhoto 6.0.5

I'm trying to use iPhoto through iMovie, but it doesn't see iPhoto under the Media>Photos tab. It says "open iPhoto 2 or later to see photos from your iPhoto library in this list."
I have iPhoto 6.0.5 and iMovie 6.0.3, and even when I open iPhoto it doesn't recognize. Restarting computer didn't help.

I am having the same trouble with both iMovie and the new iTunes 7.
Here's a clue: We share our photos and songs and have relocated the photo library "Shared" and have set up an ACL. It has been working great, except iMovie seems to not understand it has moved. I can use iPhoto to create a new library in the user 'default' area, and iMovie sees it fine. But even if I switch libraries when starting iPhoto, iMovie can't find it, and there appears to be no way to browse for another iPhoto library.
iTunes 6 worked ok, but after downloading iTunes 7, I have the exact same problem.
Any ideas?

I can not see Aperture in the media brower of iMovie and idvd since I have upgraded my iphone 5

I have Aperture 3.4.2 (most updated version I could find). Now when I look to make a movie or dvd with my photos. I can not find any of my recent photos in imovie or idvd via their respective media browsers. Aperture and iphoto are both working fine and great (ie: I can adjust my photos accordingly and print them out). I was able to successfully make both an imovie and then burn it on idvd (added photos to the idvd screens via media browers too), last week.
The only thing I can think that is different with my computer is that I upgraded my iphone from iphone4 to iphone5.
This is what I have looked into already:
Aperture>Preferences>Preview is set to share and set to always>photo preview set to Don't limit (no change)
Tried alt+cmd when opening Aperture and reset Aperture (as well with iphoto). (no change)
Itunes>Advanced>choose photos to share> then a window pops up stating Aperture could not be found open Preferences in Aperture (My first step already proved that it should be fine)
My question is why all of a sudden is Aperture and most of my iphone photos not showing up in imovie or idvd all of a sudden? Does the recent Iphone5 updgrade have anything to do with it?
Any help would be great since I have been looking all over the web for an answer with no success.

Imovie 9.0.9 will not show some of the still photos in project

when working on a imovie 9.0.9 project, some of my still photos from iphoto are not showing up in the project. I can drag the photo over and it appears in the project window but when I play the project some photos do not appear.

I have the same probelm with OSX 10.8.5 and the latest iMovie 9.0.9. iMovie will see most of the pics in the window but, infuriatingly, not some of the others - taken by the same camera on the day day!
The ones it can see, I can drag to the project window - get the green line, add or insert as appropriate and some will show when I play the new segment, and some won't. Some show in the project time line, but don't show up in the viewer when the line passes over them.
I have tried finalising, closing and opening both iMovie and iPhoto, deleting the pics in iPhoto and re importing them. I have been working on this for almost TWO DAYS and it's infuriating because nothing seems to be effective in fixing it, and there is no predicting as to which pics will "stick" and which one's won't.

HT4236 I synced photos from my computer to ipad 2. I do not see any of the photos on the camera roll.

I have itunes 11.0.2.26 version. I synced photos from my laptop to my ipad2. It correctly displays the size occupied on the itunes window on the laptop. But in my ipad I do not see any of the pictures. In the folder that I synced from on the laptop, the ipod photo cache folder got created and there are some folder in it.

Sounds more like a problem with your Display Resolution than iPhoto.
Go to: Apple / System Preferences / Displays and in the Resolutions list select,
1280 x 800 if you have a 13" MacBook Pro
1400 x 900 if you have a 15" MacBook Pro
1920 x 1200 if you have a 17" Macbook Pro

Sounds likr you may have a corrupted databae. Have a read of this article for help in recovering the situation:

iPhoto will not import pics that are in the iPhoto Library Folder - a sensible precaution against duplication.

IMovie not showing in iDVD's media drawer

Every post similar to mine seems to have solved themselves, but I can't get mine to work.
I have 13 iMovies / Quicktime files in my movie folder; only 11 appear in the iDVD media drawer. I have deleted both iMovie and iDVD's preference files to no avail. Of the 2 movies not showing up in the media drawer, one is the first movie I tried that didn't show up, the second is a 'Save As' duplicate (with only the number '2' at the end of its name). Again, neither of these two show up.
I might add when I created the first one of the 2 that are now not showing up in the media drawer, it too was a 'Save As' - a different version of another movie that IS showing up in the media drawer. I might mention that on my original attempt to save it though, I got an error message from iMovie that there wasn't enough disk space to save it (not true, there were 50 gb left). My second attempt on the 'Save As' did work though, and it runs in iMovie fine.
It's just that neither it, nor its second 'Save As' version '2' show up in iDVD's media pane, even after deleting plist files.
I'm hoping I don't have to do anything that would cause iMovie to render this small 2 minute video. It is built of slides from iPhoto so I don't want the degraded iMovie version of these stills. (I'm also hoping I don't have to re-create it; I got lucky timing the stills and the audio and doubt I could do that again!)

Hello Dennis,
I had a similar problem once with a couple of movies i ran though JES Deinterlacer, saving them in the same folder. the original showed up in iDVD, the "processed" version did not.
I don't have an actual explanation, but got it to work by simply dragging the movie into iDVD from the finder.

Phone will save ringtones/pictures but not show them in the media folder.

As my subject said, my phone will save pictures and ringtones, however will not show them in the media folder, but if I got through the long way, through the "files" icon in applications all of the new ringtones and pictures are there. So any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

Remove your battery followed by your media card.
Reinsert your battery first and allow the device to complete the reboot. Once done, insert your media card. You should get a pop saying media card is inserted.
Go to your Media folder and check for your photos and ringtones.

Can i delete the original photos and still keep them in iphoto?

My family has a ton of photos in several computers. I want to put it all in iphoto in my mac to keep it organized. But i have read other forums that iphoto COPIES the original photo file into iphoto.
Is it possible to have all the photos in iphoto without having an extra set in the computer's hard drive? For example, having 100 GB of photos (50 GB hard drive, 50 GB iphoto) doesn't make sense...
any help is greatly appreciated

In case the iphoto library goes screwy for whatever reason, you've got them still. Personally, I find it hard to trust that single, packed library (inexperience and paranoia talking, granted).
Just to clarify.
The iPhoto Library is a package. What's a package? It's a folder. It has the same properties as every other folder on your Mac except one. It looks like a file. That's the only difference.
It takes an extra step to open it: Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. See? Just a Folder with other folders inside.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

No download of purchased movies but see them in the media folder - just download/stream them when wanted

Is it possible not to download my purchased movies but to see them in the media folder of itunes - so that i just download/stream them when i want to see them.
So is there a possibility of connecting my cloud - save there my movies and stream them or download them when i wanna watch - and after that i remove them from my harddisk - but they should always remain as icon in my media folder of itunes. The reason is i just have about 100 gb harddisc space on my macbook and all these hd movies take so much space i have to outsource them. But still i want to have a nice collection/overview somewhere of my purchased items.
