IMP-00098 / INTERNAL ERROR / illegal lob length marker

Hi all,
i've been working for too long in the last 2 days and maybe don't think straight anymore. I'm having some strange import problem. Here the facts:
Error:
. . importing table "TAB"
illegal lob length marker 55011
bytesread = 00000000000
TABLE = TAB
IMP-00098: INTERNAL ERROR: impgst2
IMP-00028: partial import of previous table rolled back: 559411 rows rolled back
Source: 9.2.0.4 Sun Solaris 64Bit UTF8
target: 10.2.0.4 Windows 2003 64Bit UTF8
NLS_LANG have been checked and re-checked
file was compressed on fly with gzip
file was transfered via FTP
uncompress (WinRAR) on Windows box succeeded
importing any table after this raises same error although TAB iteself is not being imported
import runs fine (of the same gzip file) into a 10.2.0.4 on another server running 32bit XP
previous 4 exports between same systems succeeded without any issues
Some inspiration would deeply appreciated at the moment.
Cheers

Pl see if MOS Doc 578616.1 (IMP-00098: INTERNAL ERROR: impgst2Segmentation Fault - core dumped) can help

  • SQL Loader-704: Internal error: Maximum record length must be = [10000000]

    Hi,
    running SQL*Loader (Release 8.1.7.2.1) causes an error "SQL*Loader-704: Internal error: Maximum record length must be <= [10000000]". This error occurs when SQLLoader is trying to load several thousand records into a database table. Each record is less than 250 bytes in length.

    As a second guess, the terminator changes or goes missing at some point in the data file. If you are running on *NIX, try wc -l data_file_name.  This will give a count of the number of lines (delimited by CHR(10) ) that are in the file.  If this is not close to the number you expected, then that is your problem.
    You could also try gradually working through the data file loading 100 records, then 200, then 300 etc. to see where it starts to fail.

  • Import error lob length

    When I do import I got the below error
    illegal lob length marker 65279

    Hi,
    The action associated with this error message is "Contact Oracle Support" [see here|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14219/impus.htm#sthref10696]
    I don't know what to suggest to you other than following the advise above or perhaps you have a corrupt dump file.
    IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file: string
    Cause: Import did not recognize a statement in the export file. Either the export file was corrupted, or an Import internal error has occurred.

    Hello,
    You may experience a bug or a corruption in the "dump". If it's a corruption you may retry your export/import.
    But, anyway, the classical Export/Import is not recommended. Starting with 10.1 you should use Datapump
    (expdp/impdp).
    Please, find enclosed a link about this utility:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/part_dp.htm#i436481
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

    Hi Mohan,
    I didn't use Fiddler before, I just download and use it but how to see the request message from this software?
    I have logged the request to event log before send to web service and copy this request from event log to testing with soapUI, so I don't think have between the actual messages being sent to your client via orchestration and soapui. In the log Response shape
    I see the fault response in event log.
    You can see
    this link to know how to use fiddler. As I suggested above the error you need to check is at the server side who is hosting the service( your party ) because you are getting fault response properly from them. The webservice you are calling seems to look
    like WCF service too. Your life would have been so easier if you could ask them to have firewall open from your dev box to their dev server so that you can use use "Add Service Reference" wizard, that even they have .NET wcf service too.
    Did you by any chance manage to talk to them what they are getting or if they can increase the exception details in the fault message for you?
    If this answers your question please mark it as Answer and if this post is helpful, please vote as helpful. Thanks !

  • Getting ORA-0600 internal error code, arguments: [kdlx_logmnr_decompress

    Hi,
    We are getting this error for the capture process:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kdlx_logmnr_decompress : incorrect unit length passed], [16120], [6225], [0], [22044], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
    OPIRIP: Uncaught error 447. Error stack:
    ORA-00447: fatal error in background process
    That is aborting capture queue whenever we restart. I tried by re-installing Oracle but after sometime again this issue arises.
    I am new to replication thing, so don't have too much idea about this error. Following is trace file log of the error :

  • Receiving "internal error" when trying to burn mp3 disc from playlist

    I'm trying to burn an mp3 disc from a playlist that I've created. Unfortunately, I keep getting an error. I'm currently running iTunes 11.0.2 on my iMac which is currently running 10.8.3.  I've done this many times before, and this is the first that I've had this problem. Here's the error I keep getting:
    The attempt to burn a disc failed. An internal error occured.
    If you want to retry the current failed burn, click on Retry. If you want to go to the next disc burn, click on Next. Otherwise click on Cancel.
    Here's how it goes down:
    I've created a very long playlist which will require the use of multiple discs.
    I right-click on the playlist and select to burn the playlist to disc.
    I then get the usual burn settings pop-up menu where I select the "MP3 CD" format with a preferred speed of "Maximum Possible"
    Note: Since experiencing this error, I have tried varried speeds ranging from 8x to 24x; I still get the error.
    Note Also: I have tried selecting "Audio CD" instead, and the playlist will burn and the error does not appear. This is not an option I want to go with, however, because of the length of the playlist — it would take, like, 25 discs...
    For a moment iTunes will read the disc, then ask permission for the playlist to be split across multiple discs. I say "ok".
    At this point, iTunes will say that it is initiallizing for about a split second then immediately say it's finalizing and spit out the disc. This is when the error pops up.If I select to "Retry", it doesn't retry to burn; it just saves a .txt file to my desktop that is  a copy of the error message. There's no error code/number or anything, though - just the exact same message. "Cancel" and "Next" seem to behave correctly, though.
    I have tried repairing disk permissions and restarting my computer. I've also tried using different brands of CDs: Memorex CD-R and Innovera CD-R. The error persists.
    Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Some people (for reasons I don't know) have problems with Dynamic Link
    What happens if you export MPEG2-DVD from Premiere Pro... import the 2 files (audio and video) into Encore... and do ALL of your authoring work in Encore?

  • ORA-01741: illegal zero-length identifier

    Hi Friends,
    I am facing a weird situation while creating a report with region having type as SQL Query(PL/SQL function body returning SQL Query).
    I have a package function which takes 4 parameters and returns a SQL query in a varchar2 variable.
    Now when I have the following code in my region source and on applying changes is showing ORA-01741: illegal zero-length identifier
    DECLARE
    l_query VARCHAR2 (5000);
    BEGIN
    SELECT apx_dashboard_pkg.f_int_monthly_grid (:p5_1, :p5_2, :p5_3, :p5_4)
    INTO l_query
    FROM DUAL;
    RETURN l_query;
    END;
    If I change my code as below by passing values and run, then it does the job perfect.
    DECLARE
    l_query VARCHAR2 (5000);
    BEGIN
    SELECT apx_dashboard_pkg.f_int_monthly_grid(200712,
    'IC',
    3,
    'AVARO'
    INTO l_query
    FROM DUAL;
    RETURN l_query;
    END;
    I have no clue where I am doing wrong.
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Raj.

    Thanks guys for your responses.
    Varad,
    I have tried with 'Generic Column Names' and it worked wonderfully.
    Scott,
    I would definitely consider your point because it might be the reason for erroring out in some of my pages in the application.
    Thanks a lot.
