  • User-Defined Message Search - PI 7.1 - EHP1 - SP06 - Not working

    Hi Friends,
    Recently, we have imported SP06 in our PI system (PI 7.1 EHP1). The SXMB_MONI has now new tab "User-Defined Selection Criteria".
    To implement user-defined search, I have created filer, extractor, namespace prefix for one outbound interface through transaction SXMS_LMS_CONF. (As it is explained in SAP EHP1 features PDF and the link "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/c85598f63335bfe10000000a42189d/frameset.htm".
    Also we have created logical port through transaction SOAMANAGER. (followed the steps as mentioned in PDF)
    After filters, extractor, namespace prefix created and activated, I have checked the extractor through Test Extractor, it is working fine. (All are green, given below is the output)
    Type
    Message text
    Processing message 4DDFE95BAEC67152E10000009958A8AB
    Analyzing payload of message version 000
    No filter found
    Analyzing payload of message version 004
    Filter found for interface name PROACT.PROACT01
    Name MATERIAL_ID value RPM312AZ/11522R1 extracted
    Analyzing payload of message version 005
    No filter found
    Analyzing payload of message version 008
    No filter found
    Now, when I do search the same through SXMB_MONI, by giving inputs in the new tab "User-Defined Selection Criteria", Option button "Search for all" , selected the filter name "MATERIAL_ID" in the input field:Name and put material name in the  in the input field:value. (same material I put), it shows the message "No message is available for selection".
    Friends, could you kindly clarify why I am unable to search through SXMB_MONI? Am I missed any of the steps?
    Kindly reply.
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Were you able to resolve the issue ?
    If not, You need to execute program SXMS_EXTRACT_MESSAGES to build index for the user defined search from the old messages.
    The job bulids index from the already processed messages.
    Choose the relevant Method when creating the extractor
    Method
    You can choose between two methods:
    Extract During Message Processing
    Select this method if you want the attributes to be extracted from the selected messages while these messages are processed.
    Extract with External Job
    Select this method if you want to extract attributes from messages that were already processed, or if you want to change the extraction of attributes from messages, from which attributes were already extracted.
    For this method you need to set up and use the job SXMS_EXTRACT_MESSAGES.
    thanks

  • User-defined F4 Search - cancel button in the title bar

    Hi,
    I implement user-defined F4 search for my WD application. F4 view comes from another component (as described in the tutorial). Everything is fine, I see that view popuped when F4 is clicked for an input field. My problem is, how to make visible the Close button in the title bar of that popup window.
    I was able to set window's title text, but have no idea how to control those buttons. I only see maximize button which comes by default.
    Also would be nice to create kind of standard OK and Cancel buttons on the bottom bar instead of creating them manually on my view... I've tried set_button_kind(), it works somehow: displayes three empty buttons without icons - need more info about it too...
    Thanks

    Hi Serguei,
    The empty buttons are worth a ticket.
    The behavior for the close button in popups is that the application developer can determine its visibility independent from the buttons in the lower row.
    The second aspect is the action that is triggered if someone clicks that button. There the application developer is able to bind a separate action to that close button. If no action was bound and if a cancel button is visible, clicking the close button will trigger the same action as it would have been the case for the cancel button. A bit complicated, I know. We had to do the latter for backwards compatibility.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

  • User Defined Function VS join - Performance....

    Hi All,
    while linking the mulitple table and getting the values ....which one is the best ?
    Joining or User defined function.....
    single row function
    select a.name , get_salary(empid) from emp a;
    Note : get_salary function will return the salary from salary tables.
    Using joins
    select a.name ,b.salary from emp a, salary b
    where a.empid=b.empid;
    which is the performancewise best ?
    also if you give any related document also fine.
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: BASKAR NATARAJAN on Jan 6, 2011 10:09 PM

    Don't use such functions for joins. The function itself has to query the salary table. It will run the query against the salary table separately for each row that it reads from the emp table. You will end up with multiple recursive calls and possibly inconsistency in the output. (Imagine what would happen if the salary table were updated and commited while this query was running -- some rows would have been read with the pre-update values and others with the updated values).
    Specifying the join in the query ensures that a single SQL call is executed and provides read consistency across all the rows it reads. And it is much faster, being one single parse and execute.

  • Source user defined in DIP Profile

    Hi all,
    When I'm creating profile for my DIP profile, I'm not able to find suitable source for my business. So I've to add my source there. Is there a way to define new source in DIP Profile without using SM30?
    Thanks in adv,
    Latu

    Hi virendra,
    I've used SM30 indeed to add user-defined source, but it just add the source. How can I add 'logic' for that one?
    Pete,
    -edit-
    That page is protected with password. May be I have to ask my boss for the password Can you please give me the url of that DIP ebook?
    I've read the note, but I can't find user exit for RRB. anyway thanks for the page Pete.

  • How to implement a user-defined function in a mathscript node

    I am trying to use a mathscript node that includes self-defined functions, but I always get an error. I tried to run an NI-example: MathScript using Riemann Zeta.vi ,and I got the same error I get when I run my own programmes:MathScript Node'MathScript Node' (zeta): User-defined function contains an error. I didn't change anything in that example, so what could be wrong?

    Try the Mathscript forum instead. Good luck.
    (Maybe start reading this, for example)

  • USER DEFINED FIELD ERROR

    Hi,
    The following is the setup.
    1. I defined a DBAT - ORACLE CONNECTOR and was able to provision users to it.
    2. Then I defined an user defined field in OIM i.e.
    2.1 added in the User defined field list in Users form - branch
    2.2 Added the entry with proper tags in formmetadata.xml
    2.3 And also updated it in the xlWebAdmin_en_US.properties file
    3. Restarted the server.
    4. And in the DBAT provisioning process added a new task, attached a process task adapter in integration.
    4.1 in Adapter variable mapping
    Adapter return value
    Map to - Process Data
    Qualifier - DEFAULT_BRANCH ( I think target attribute name)
    4.2 input value
    Map to - user definition
    qualifier - branch
    5. Added the USR_UDF_BRANCH CODE , Update DEFAULT_BRANCH to the the lookup usr process triggers.
    When an end user modifies from the account profile, it only reflects in the process form and not in the target table
    It gives the following error and also an error for email notification which i have not configured. it is using OOTB user profile edit process.
    ition xml of the connector 'DBPCAT'

    You need to give permission to update the process form to any users who would be the source of the change. So if joe schmoe is updating the user, they need permission to update the process form for any user they update.

  • Accessing a Cache From an Oracle CQL User-Defined Function

    According to the docs ...
    I am to use the following element to set the cache property in my bean...
    <wlevs:property name="cache" ref="cache-id"/>
    However, when I set it, the assembly does not validate.
    If I use <property>, I get a NullPointerException on each request when my processor runs.
    Using the same CQL code..
    Without the <property> tag, the call to the user-defined function works (but I don't have the cache attribute set obviously).
    Here is the excerpt from my assembly...
    <bean id="cacheFunction" class="ou.cep.function.CacheFunction">
    <property name="cache" ref="myCache"/>
    </bean>
    <!-- The default processor for OCEP 11.0.0.0 is CQL -->
    <wlevs:processor id="myProcessor">
    <wlevs:listener ref="CacheChannel"/>
    <wlevs:function ref="cacheFunction" function-name="isValidID" exec-method="isValidID">
    </wlevs:function>
    </wlevs:processor>
    To repeat, with the same CQL with the user-defined function call, if I remove the property element from the bean definition, I can call the function successfully (it just doesn't do what I need it to do). In this case, I am still using the ref=cacheFunction for the wlevs:function within the processor.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Edited by: fl0at on Oct 5, 2010 12:28 PM

    The case is solved, not sure I could explain why, but...
    This implementation of the user-defined function was a migration from an implementation using the same cache in the join. So, when I removed the cache reference in the source stream (where I am now executing a function that accesses the cache), the problem went away and everything is working.
    I can explain further if there are questions.
    If anyone has thoughts on this, please advise.
    As always, thanks for the help.

  • How to use user-defined packages in JAX-RPC web service

    I am trying to use Object of my class located in my package in jax-rpc webservice,the code is
    package supercomputer;
    import Hello.*;
    public class SuperImpl implements SuperIF
    public String sendParam(String data)
    Temp ob=new Temp();
    int i=ob.get1(10000);
    return data+"returned by supercomputer";
    Temp is located in Hello package,I have jar the Hello package as Hello.jar and has set its classpath in targets.xml of Ant tool.
    The code compiles well and service is deployed successfully,but when i try to call the service from the client its gives me following error.
    [echo] Running the supercomputer.SuperClient program....

    I dont know if it deploys why it gives error on client side.
    Please tell how to use user-defined packages and class in jax-rpc service code ,i am not talking about passing user-defined parameters i am just talking about making objects of user defined classes in jax-rpc service.I think there is some problem in classpath.
    Please guide me in doing that.
    Thanks,
    Farrukh

    Farrukh,
    I don't know if your error is about a missing class from your custom package, ... what track did you followed to say that?
    To use your package in the implementation of you web service, you should only follow the rules of making a web application: put your package jar in your \lib directory inside WEB-INF/ or your package classes unjared in classes (also in WEB-INF/).
    As I already said, I have doubts that your error should be originated from a missing class from your package, but:
    -try to see the logs (errors?) when you deploy your web service that could give a hint about the problem.
    -try to see if you can access your endpoint through your browser to see if there is a online status
    -display your config/WSDL file, and the steps you did to build your web service.
    regards,
    Pedro Salazar.

  • User-defined function in order by?

    Hey guys.  We're trying to port our postgres db to Oracle, and I'm stumbling on this one issue.  We have columns called 'sortSequences', which are arbitrarily long arrays of integers.  For POC purposes, I am using varray(), but that probably won't work as an production implementation, because of it's strongly-defined size.  Anyway, the crux of the problem is that I need to be able to select * from foo order by sortSequence, where the ordering evaluation is custom code.  The array of integers essentially represent infinite-precision math, and we have a deterministic algorithm for comparing them, but one cannot simply produce a value from them (which I think prevents me from using a map member function in a user-defined object type.)  In other words, we don't really care what the values are, we are just using them collectively as a sorting index.  An aggregate function didn't look like the right answer, and a simple scalar function is out of the question.  We were looking at domain indexes, but it's not clear to me that even if we created an operator bound to our user-defined type that the db would use that function for order by evaluation...
    Can anybody think of a solution for this problem?  If we absolutely have to live without this functionality, we can replicate it in app code, but we wish to avoid that at all costs...
    thanks,
    brian

    Doesn't look very promising for a general case.
    Even for short sequences and moderate number values the computed numbers to order by are quite large.

  • Java user-defined transaction management not working correctly???

    Hi everyone,
    I have encountered a problem when using Java user-defined transaction management in my session bean. It threw an exception but I could not work out what that means. Could anyone comment on this? Thanks.
    This BrokerBean is a stateless session calling other entities bean to perform some simple operations. There are 2 Cloudscape databases in use. Invoices (EB) use InvoiceDB and all the other EBs use StockDB.
    If I comment out the user-defined transaction management code, then everything works fine. Or if I comment out the Invoices EB code, it is fine as well. It seemed to me that there is something wrong in transaction management when dealing with distributed databases.

    Three things:
    first, maybe you should think of putting ut.begin() just before the invoicesHome.create() method and ut.commit() just after the stockTrans.remove() method.It wont solve the current problem but will help in performance once the problem is solved.
    second, your utx.commit() is outside the try block. how come the code is compiling then??
    third, try doing a SOP call before and after invoicesHome.create() method and see where the problem actually lies.
    let us know...
    Hi SteveW2,
    Thanks for being so helpful. Here are my replies:
    Can I just ask why you're not using containermanaged
    transactions?The reason why I didn't use container managed
    transactions is because I don't really know how to do
    that. I am more familiar with this user-defined
    transaction handling.
    I have attempted to implement the same method in an
    entity bean and just let the container manage the
    rollback itself. The same exception was thrown when
    running the client.
    Also, the transaction behaviour is likely to relateto
    the app server youre using - which is it?What do you mean by the app server? I am using J2EE
    1.3.1 if that is what you meant.
    Finally, if your code has a problem rolling back,and
    throws an exception, you discard your exception
    thereby losing useful information.I have tried to print the exception stack as well, but
    it is the same as just printing the general
    exception.
    This problem is very strange cause if I comment out
    the transaction management thing, then everything
    works fine. Or if I am only working with 1 single
    database, with this user-defined transaction handling,
    everything works fine as well.
    Here is the error log from J2EE server if you are
    interested.

  • User defined Exception in Stateless Java Class WS

    Hi,
    I'm experimenting with publishing some of my application's Java classes as web services under OC4J 10.1.2. I've been quite successfull to do so, but I'm stuck into a problem trying to have my class's methods throw my own type of exception and retrieving it at the client side.
    I'm using the proxies downloaded from the web service's automatic HTML page, and I see in the source code version that the proxy class specifically throws a org.apache.soap.SOAPException whenever there's a fault in the response message.
    What I've done is simply to create a type derived from Exception with a String (message) and an Integer (code) properties, with just my own constructor that accepts two parameters corresponding to that properties. Then I make the methods in my Java class throw that exception.
    I've tried both using both an Interface and a class, and also using just a class as parameters to StatelessWebServiceServlet / Web Service Assembler.
    I can't find anywhere in any docs that explains how this can be done in OC4J. I believe that throwing user-defined exceptions is included in J2EE 1.4 and so I think that there should be a way to do it in OC4J if it is compliant. Maybe there's no way, but I couldn't find any reference to that neither.
    I'll greatly appreciate any light on this issue.
    Thanks in advance

    Thank you for your answer.
    I'd like to know something more about how far does that limited support go, in case it could be of some use.
    On the other hand, and just for the sake of constructive discussion, though I've contemplated the option of encoding error conditions on the result type, I always found that to be an ugly style from a interface design standpoint (not ws specifically but in general system desing terms), and when I saw a standard way to communicate custom error information separated from normal response I thought it to be the right way to go. After all, exceptions are just the way Java implements this design principle that has also found a place in most currently successful software environments (PL/SQL, .Net, ...).
    I don't expect to extend the meaning and programmatic use of Java exceptions to my ws clients, but to be able to communicate detailed error condition information as the standards contemplate (faults), which as I understand from your kind answer is out of my reach in 10.1.2.
    I have no experience with other ws platforms but I'd like to believe that if wsdl:fault is in the standards, those claming compliance will support it to the extent necessary to make it usable and interoperable as it is the way the standard covers error communication (and so that's why it is included in 10.1.3). I also beleve this would bring better interoperability than our home-made result types including error information, that no other application without our custom specifications can understand.
    Also better interoperability would come from that than for example what I now see in 10.1.2, where all exceptions are communicated to the client with a faultcode of soap:Server, which I believe to have the standard meaning that there's a chance for the client to success retrying later without modifying it's request. This translation could be better suited for Java errors (unrecoverable) but not for all kinds of exceptions, and so in this question, custom exception support could also improve interoperability with systems that interpret SOAP fault codes.
    Thank you.
