Implementation process and Support Process diagrams

Hi Guys
I need the implementation and support process / Business Flow, flowcharts etc. i think i have confused you guys. what i am looking for is something like the activities divided into different sections like Client, onsite, offshore.
Please note that i am not looking for ASAP.
i am looking for activities done by the clients, onsite team and the ofshore team.
I am looking for diagrams.
Thanks in advance.
D

This is the land scape.
Generally we have 3 servers 1) Development server
2) Quality server
3) Production server.
Along with these servers we have Sand box in our place for trail purpose, i.e., before going to develop or testing we just develop here in our sand box and check our requirements.
(Sand box is also called as Golden data box).
ASAP METHODOLOGY:
1)Project Preparation,
2) Blue print phase,
3) Realization phase,
4) Testing phase,
5) Go live phase.
Project Preparation:
Here we do discussions about our project with client…. i.e deciding that whether we go for B.W or not, that will help us or not, required it or not.
Here we do making land scape, pricing or project, bidding …. Like intial things. And we do time estimation i.e for implementation generally we take 90 days.
Main things to do…
1. Discussions with client providing the importance of SAP BW
2. why BW? Here we have convince the client what are the advantages if we implement BW
advantages:
A) End to End solution
In R/3 we give authorization to particular level of REPORT.
In BW we give authorization to particular level of DATA
Eg: if we have 2 plants in R/3. if 2 users use same report. So that they may change or alter the report according to their requirement where as in BW we can give authorization to particular level of data to that particular plant accordingly where as it is not possible in others.
B) Detail level of information in R/3.
Aggregate level of information in BW
C) E.R model in R/3. where as in BW it is Multi Dimensional.
3) ROI Return on Investment
4) Budget discussions.
BLUE PRINT PHASE:
Here we do ..
I. Gathering user requirements.
II. Form some documents like PI Documentation Tree.
PI measure Glossory.
III. preparing functional specs like Data Flow Diagram.
Graphical StarSchema views
ODS object Designs
IV. Approval meeting: Getting approval for functional specs
V. Kick of meeting : this is the final meeting with client about specs.
That will be at the end of work.
REALIZATION PHASE:
Here we do ..
I. we prepare technical specs based on functional specs
II. Getting approval for Technical specs.
III. Designing the objects basing on technical specs. (In development server).
IV. UNIT TESTING (i.e we do general testing like the value in R/3 side is coming to BW side is same or not …etc. we use RSA3 Extract checker to check value bet. R/3 and cube)
V. Develop unit test case document.
VI. All developed unit test case documents will be send to client for approval
VII. And finally transporting all the objects to quality box
TESTING PHASE:
Here we do ..
1. Integration Testing: It takes nearly 6 months to 1 yr. depends on project
2. U A T Testing : User Acceptance Test
3. Approval
GO LIVE PHASE:
all objects will be transport to QUALITY to PRODUCTION BOX.
in R/3 system only Data sources will be transported from QUALITY to PRODUCTION
Generally all the data sources will not go live at same time. i.e., they scheduled like SD data sources in first week, MM data sources in next week, PP in next week like that depends on requirement.
If required we do Adhoc reports that means we have to generate reports basing on available data for immediate requirements.
In sand box we do testing ourselves like what will happen when we do change or add or alter the existing objects or any thing in current position. It is just like test box for our purpose only.
SAP BW CONSULTANT
In our project we have ED1 (Enterprise Development) is the developer system and 120 is the client. We have one development system, quality system and integrated planning system.
We are 3 members here in offshore and 2 members in onsite. Onsite TL do take care of preparing technical specs. We joined in the project at realization stage. (We have 5 phases in project. 1. Project preparation 2. Blue print 3. Realization 4. Testing 5. Production)Gap analysis conducted by Onsite Team. They prepare spec and send to us.
Here in offshore iam team member. As a team member my responsibility in this implementation project is installing objects from the business content. Apart from this every Tuesday we have conference call with onsite team. In conference call we discuss what the issues we faced till now are. What is the progress in the project? What will be the next week delivery? What about the previous issues? What are the new changes if any? After conference call completion I have to do Minutes draft of the call. I have to write a mail to onsite TL in which I mention the issues we discussed and To Do list from both sides.
We receive technical specs from our TL. It is completely regarding the installation of objects from business content and generating regular reports.
Finding out the cube (Ex: 0SD_C01), which we need to install, and installing the cube from BC with both data flow inwards and afterwards. This is done only once we confirmed from simulation installation so that no errors will occur while installing.
Once the cube is installed we prepare one more cube (name starts with z like ZC001), which is the copy of the same cube, which is installed just now (intention is not to disturb the BC cube).
After preparing the cube finding out the dataflow from the pictorial view in technical spec. In our spec data flows from Info Source to ODS and then into Cube to Multi Provider. Now prepare the ODS which contains the same characteristics and key figures as cube. Here we add two extra fields in key fields column of ODS that ZDATE & ZTIME. Date and time are populated with formulae. In Date column we define formulae SYS-DATUM and for time SYS-TIMLO.
Creating update rules for ODS we define that ODS gets data from info source as per spec.
No. of update rules depends on no. of info sources from which ODS gets data.
After ODS create update rules for cube saying that cube get data from ODS.
Next create multi provider as per spec. Even though we have only one cube we created multi provider because we want to extend it in future. Multi provider contains all the characteristics and key figures of cube for the time being. This is all as per our spec.
Assigning data source to Info source and activating Transfer rules.
Next creating Info Packages for full, init and delta loads.
Next creating process chains. To create PC we follow this procedure:
Select the cube to which data must be loaded. Go to Context menu (right click) of the cube . Select Info Source overview. It will show what data is flowing into the cube and from which info source.
Check out whether all the info sources are assigned with data sources if not assign it. Check out whether all info packages are created or nor if not create it.
Start creating process chains. In our process chain we have Meta chains (a chain in another chain). We have 4 process chains. One for master data (attribute) another for text and one for hierarchy and another for transaction data.
In Master data PC collect all the info packages for master data loading and at the end add attribute change run, this chain will run daily. (0MATERIAL, 0SALESORG)
In Text PC collect all the info packages for text one by one. This will run daily. (0MATERIAL, 0SALESORG, 0DIVISION, 0VERSION, 0VTYPE)
In Hierarchy PC collect the info packages for hierarchies. This will run daily. (0MATERIAL).
In Transaction data collect all the info packages with full load (temporary only). This also runs daily. (2LIS_01_S001)

    Hi Audhitan,
    Most of the questions posted here are realtime issues. You can search for the one which is relevant to you.
    Issue may raise due to:
    1. lack of training
    2. user authorisation
    3. Enhancement requirement
    5. Lack of knowledge on Business process

  • Business Process and sub Process IN ERM and CUP

    Hi Friends,
    We are in intial stage of GRC implimentation. Now I am uploading the roles into ERM and CUP. I have defined business processes and sub processes for the roles and upload the roles successfully in ERM. But when I am doing the same excercise in CUP especially during creation of sub process it is not allowing the charecter "-" in the name space.
    E.g. Business process name is EHS-SM (Uploaded to CUP)
           Sub process name is EHS-SM1.1 (not allowing to create in CUP wher as successfully created in ERM)
    My question is
    1. why it allows me to do the same thing in ERM but not in CUP.
    2. Is there any way to maintain the name with chaecter "-".
    For your information I am in the phase of defining the attributes for the roles.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Difference between business process, sales process and order process

    what is the difference between business process, sales process and order process?

    Dear Gopala,
    business process is a general definition of the process which you have:
    for example, you get an order, you have no goods, but you can produce them, you start an assambly processing, the production order will be created, then the goods will be prepatred, then the delivery will be created, the goods issue booked then your customer gets thwe goods and send the delivery confirmation, you create an invoice etc.etc.
    sales process is a part of  a business process.
    Sales process shows how you sell the goods, there are different sales document  categories to do this: sales orders, contracts, scheduling agreements etc.
    order process is only one of possibilities of the sales process.
    Order process is used if you get really a one-time (or at lease not on a regular basis many times) the simple orders where your customer says what goods he would like to receive and when. Then you create a sales order (in dialog transaction VA01) and can create a delivery. There are different types of sales orders in the standard. The customizing of sales order types is available under the transaction VOV8.
    I hope, this info help you a little bit further to understand SD design.
    Kind regards,

  • Using CREATE PROCESS and START PROCESS in a JSP

    Hi,
    I have built a simple JSP page. I want to call my workflow program from this page.
    How should I use the CREATE PROCESS() AND START PROCESS() inside the JSP page?
    Also I want to get the value entered in the text field (which will be a hidden field) to be passed to the ITEM_ATTRIBUTE, which I have defined in my program. How can this be achieved?
    Please give me the syntax for this.
    Please find below the JSP page
    =========================================================
    <%@page import= "java.util.Date" %>
    <script language="javascript" src="ibeCButton.js"> </script>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>First Page</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <H3>Today is:
    <%= new java.util.Date() %>
    <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="CART_ID">
    <INPUT TYPE="submit" onclick = >
    </H3>
    </body>
    </html>
    ==========================================================
    To use LAUNCHPROCESS in JSP, the following is the syntax.
    public static boolean launchProcess
    (WFContext wCtx,
    String itemType,
    String itemKey,
    String process,
    String userKey,
    String owner)
    Should WFContext have the connection information of the DB.
    If I pass only the WFContext and itemType attributes are they enough? Please let me know.
    Thanks

    There are two options.
    1. Good one.
    Include wf*.jar files in your system CLASSPATH. Use oracle.apps.fnd.wf.engine.WFEngineAPI class to access engine APIs. You would need to pass WFContext for which you need WFDB.
    You basically created WFDB with username, password and connect string. Pass it to WFContext and use it for all Workflow Engine APIs.
    2. OK one.
    You can get JDBC connection using the default mechanism that your custom Java and JSP code could be using. Call the PLSQL procedures WF_ENGINE.CreateProcess and WF_ENGINE.LaunchProcess over JDBC.
    Anyways option 1 makes life easier.

  • Difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process

    Hi Experts,
    What is the difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process available in PI7.1?
    SAP says that Monitoring process is a special kind of integration process that receives the event messages.
    My doubt is even integration process can receive the event messages.
    Why these two different type of entities are created for the same purpose?
    And what is the technical difference between the two in terms of PI perspective?
    Regards,
    Sami.

    My question is now answered.
    [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70a25d3a-e4fa-2a10-43b5-b4169ba3eb17]
    On page 17 of this pdf following sentence is mentioned :-
    From technical perspective, there is no difference between monitoring process and integration process.
    Though logically those are two deifferent things.
    Monitoring porcesses are used to receive only event messages that is comprises of event data only.
    Like Purchase order creation is a event and its event message will have the event data like Order Id, Created on, Created by, Quantity etc., instead of whole purchase order.
    Where as Integration Process is a way to provide solution in some specific circummtances like where we have to automate our process or where we need something in between for the course of communication.
    Guys thanks for your precious time.
    Regards,
    Sami.

    I would suggest reading the pdf files from Siemens.
    you can also find some files in www.easymarketplace.de
    but the best thing to do would be to practise a lot in a test system and get the overview from people who worked in AR for atleast 6 months....
    the pdf files, though they are comprehensive are very intricate and never explain the entire business scenario in simple words..

  • Business Process and Sales process

    Hi Gurus,
    Will somebody explain me the Difference between " Business Process and Sales Process"
    Thanks & Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi Srikant,
    Sales process is related to only sales and Distribution which means from Sales to Billing, But in business process it includes other business aspects like accounting principles, etc, i.e it includes all processes of all the modules.
    For SD point of view in interview your answer should be all SD scenarios.
    reward if it helps.

  • Business process and sub process in CUP & ERM

    Hi,
    We have created Business Processes and Sub- Processes in ERM. But we are not able to view the same when we create a request in CUP.
    We have created the Business Processes and Sub- Processes for CUP in Roles -Attributes.These were then visible in the request.
    Do we need to create the Processes and Sub-processes independently in both ERM and CUP or should it flow into CUP when roles are imported into CUP from ERM ?
    Thanks and Regards.

    Another important point:
    In CUP, Sub Processes are optional, in ERM they are mandatory.
    Please make sure you have some in CUP for all your processes.
    Frank.

  • Concept of Sub Process and Starter Process in BPEL

    Hi Forum -
    With my limited understanding of BPEL I have found that if a process has to interact with another process it has to be exposed as a service however that is not good in all cases.
    Is there a way in BPEL where once can create a process and do not expose it as service and still be able to call it from another BPEL process.
    For example there can be a process called sendNotification and all the other processes if they want to send a notification can call this process.
    In TIBCO there is a concept of Starter Process and Sub Process. A Starter Process is a process which will wait for an event to take place, like a web service request or a JMS message or a database adapter event and then this main process can call a sub process, just like the main program calling a function. This sub process need not be defined as a service in TIBCO and it can still accept an xml schema type as input.
    Is this possible in BPEL?
    Thanks!

    10g -> Every process is a service.
    11g -> Create a Composite, You could wire multiple BPEL Components and expose only the desired ones as a service through a mediator or directly the bpel. Mediator provide one more layer of virtualization and hides even the first master bpel component.
    But if the send notification have to be reused outside the composite, it has to be an exposed service. Although it is exposed as a web service, it uses only WSIF binding to interact between bpel processes and not a soap binding(unless specifically instructed).
    If you are looking for function kind of construct, you could create custom xpath functions (like logging etc.)

  • Difference between viewoption.process and sourceoption.process.

    hi,
    In the Technical deplyment document, it tell me that calling a workflow by using sourceoption.process.But i know that we call a worflow by viewoption.process.
    this was code in the document
    <Form>
    <Field name='sourceOptions.Process'>
    <Expansion>
    <s>My workflow process name</s>
    </Expansion>
    </Field>
    </Form>
    can any one tell me what is difference in both ?
    Thank you

    The common usage of process and thread is as mjacobsca says. A process is a program that is currently excecuting. Each process has at least one thread running within it. Threads are sometimes called leightweight processes, so I would say process is the more general word. To complicate matters there are different thread depending on who owns them, the OS (native thread or the JVM (green thread).

  • Difference between Monitoring Process and Integration Process

    What is the difference between the Monitoring Process object for BAM and Integration Process object? Both seem to have exactly the same design environment in the Enterprise Services Builder.
    Is it so that Monitoring Process alarms only appear in the UWL of the specified user?
    Also, suppose I am wanting to create a receive step to wait for the arrival of a message instead of an event (say I want to check a specific message arrives before a certain time, correlating several fields of the message, which is something I cannot do I believe with alert monitoring). Am I able to do this? I cannot see a reason why not, but I'd like confirmation.
    BR,
    Tony.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the link! I read through the replies, but it still leaves a couple of basic questions unsolved:
    1) Why did SAP discriminate these two types of PI objects at design time - the Monitoring Process and the Integration Process?
    2) new capabilities of PI 7.1 are touted as:
    Event provisioning and consumption for BAM:
    - Local container
    - Subscription and handling of business process events
    - Milestone Monitoring
    So can I only employ event provisioning, subscription of Business process Events and Milestome monioring with  a Monitoring process, or can I do that with an Integration Process as well?
    BR,
    Tony.

  • Step Group , Monitoring Process and Integration Process.

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to when we use Step Group, Monitoring Process and what is the difference of these two with Integration Process. As we can use all the steps of Integration Process with Step Goup and Monitoring Process.
    Regards,
    Syed

    For the Step Group:
    You can consider it as a BPM which can be used in another BPM....concept similar to a reusable class :)....So if you have a constant patter of Receive --- transformation -
    Send in some BPMs then create a Step Group and include it in the required BPMs...
