Implements php function in dreamweaver cs4 / cs5

Hi,
I made a framwork for my company that develops using php.
It would be nice to not always having to explain the use of functions, implement dreamweaver, possibly through an extension, the intellisense for these functions.
for example when using the shell function require me indicates that the function accepts a string. in the case of mysql_connect are advised to enter the host name etc..
It would be very important to implement something like this for my functions
is it possible?

thanks for the reply.
I analyzed the file codeHints on php but I can not get what I want. I am doing tests on cs5 version.
I inserted the following code in the file
[Code]
<Function pattern = "today (string $eng)" doctypes = "PHP_MySQL" displayrestriction = "PHP_Script" icon = "shared / mm / images / hintFunction.png" casesensitive = "true" MMString: source = "php / CORE" description = "@ # php_CORE3.xml mysql_connect" />
[/ Code]
in new php file i put
function today($a).......
when i type today(...
the intellisense show me $a not 'string $eng'....
the problem may be caused by
MMString: source = "php / CORE" description = "@ # php_CORE3.xml mysql_connect"
I do not think because from what I understand this is the explanation of function and not the intellisense
thanks a lot in anycase

  • DreamWeaver CS4-CS5 Creates Syntax Errors

    I cannot seem to find any info on this online but my DreamWeaver CS4 and a trial of DreamWeaver CS5 both create PHP and SQL queries that are loaded with syntax errors. I use XAMPP on my computer as I have done for years, and it works fine with phpMyAdmin and Komodo Edit. DreamWeaver has been a nifty app to quickly knock out simple applications in that past, but now I spend too much time manually correcting syntax errors in PHP page queries.
    Has anyone there heard of a fix for this? Several other web developers have told me that they entirely abandoned DW CS* series and moved on to other IDE's rather than try to fix the problem.
    EXAMPLE:
    Here is what it wrote:
    if ((isset($_POST["MM_update"])) && ($_POST["MM_update"] == "form1")) {
      $updateSQL = sprintf("UPDATE `mysite` SET about-yn=%s, about-h1=%s, about-p1=%s, about-p2=%s, about-p2-img=%s, about-p3=%s, about-p3-img=%s, about-p4=%s, about-p4-img=%s WHERE siteID=%s",
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutyn'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['abouth1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp2'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp2img'], "int"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp3'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp3img'], "int"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp4'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp4img'], "int"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['siteID'], "int"));
    Here is what it should have written:
    f ((isset($_POST["MM_update"])) && ($_POST["MM_update"] == "form1")) {
       $updateSQL = sprintf("UPDATE `mysite` SET  `about-yn`=\"%s\", `about-h1`=\"%s\", `about-p1`=\"%s\", `about-p2`=\"%s\", `about-p2-img`=\"%s\",  `about-p3`=\"%s\", `about-p3-img`=\"%s\", `about-p4`=\"%s\", `about-p4-img`=\"%s\" WHERE  `siteID`=\"%s\"",
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutyn'], "text"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['abouth1'], "text"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp1'], "text"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp2'], "text"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp2img'], "int"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp3'], "text"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp3img'], "int"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp4'], "text"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp4img'], "int"),
                            GetSQLValueString($_POST['siteID'], "int"));

    Dreamweaver will not produce such a mess when using column names which comply with the MySQL Naming Conventions and don´t contain (often quite problematic) hyphen characters.
    That said, you´ll be on the safe side when renaming your columns by using underscores instead, example:
    about_p3_img
    Several other web developers have told me that they entirely abandoned DW CS* series and moved on to other IDE's rather than try to fix the problem.
    Dreamweaver is certainly not a "perfect" PHP development IDE, but other IDEs (I use Komodo or Aptana at times and like them a lot...) aren´t perfect either. This may seem strange, but IMO Dreamweaver did do the - sort of - right thing by not letting the user get away with using such problematic characters, and that´s what those other IDEs I work with regretfully don´t pay attention to.

  • Assist plaese with PHP testing in Dreamweaver CS4

    Dear Friends,
    I’m completely new in Dreamweaver. I’ve just installed in my windowsXP PHP, MySQL and Apache. I’m trying to test PHP in Dreamweaver CS4. Here what I did but still could not see result in browser view.
    In site definition box,
    in local info:
    site name: PHP test
    local root folder: C:\wamp\www\
    HTTP address: http://localhost/PHPTest.php/
    In testing server:
                Server model: PHP My SQL
                Access: Local/Network
                Testing server folder: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\
                URL Prefix: http://localhost/PHPTest.php/
    Inside the body script in code view I inserted the following:
    <?php
                echo "This is a PHP line";
                phpinfo();
    ?>
    When I try to see it in browser it shows: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
    Please tell me what I did wrong please.
    Thanks,
    Qartveli

    some clues to get you started:
    1. when developing on a local server, make sure that the testing server folder is equal to the local root folder -- means that it´s "C:\wamp\www\" in both cases, otherwise your local server will try to load the current page from the directory "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot" where this page physically doesn´t exist, and that´s why you´re getting the "cannot display the webpage" error message.
    2.
    URL Prefix: http://localhost/PHPTest.php/
    never specify a certain page name in here -- http://localhost/ is all you need for the URL prefix, and the name of the to-be-previewed page will be appended automatically when going to Preview mode..
    Cheers,
    Günter

  • Problem with a function of Dreamweaver Cs4

    Hi. Excuse me for my bad Inglish, but i am italian. I have a
    problem with Dreamweaver CS4. Before I have used the last version,
    CS3 and there were a function call image viewer (Insert >
    Multimedia objetcts > Image Viewer). In this new version, this
    function there is not. It's possible create the same effect with
    another function?
    Thank's

    The size of one line is 1024.
    if(bArray.length == 1023){
      out.write(bArray);
      byte[] temp = new byte[1];
      temp[0] = 100;
      out.write(temp);
    }else{
      out.write(bArray);
    In the 27 row the JCO trim the length of the line to 1023 bytes. The last byte is 100.
    And for this Problem I add the byte.

  • Problem insert media flv dreamweaver cs4 cs5

    Hello
    im creating website and something happen and now when i inset media FLV it doesn't. it shows many buttons like 4 play buttons, 4 pause buttons.

    Hi
    I'm writing because exactly the same thing happened to me on my G5 PowerMac in DW CS4. I've read a few other threads where Adobe haven't managed to solve the problem yet have somehow managed to close the threads. Is this; trying to brush the problem under the carpet a bit?
    Anyhow, just before the same issue happened to me, I got an error message that when it came up I thought to take a snapshot of it which I enclose below. Additionally I had downloaded a newer copy of iTunes and also VLC softwares just prior to this annoying problem starting.
    In the past, I was advised by Adobe to put the plist prefs in the bin, then not actually empty the bin but make a new installation so these would get re-made and possibly cause problems to get fixed. So far I haven't done this yet but have made a new installtion of DW CS4 but this problem still exists.
    So my message is to any senior Adobe DW specialist reading this;  Can you fix this?  Do you know what is causing it to happen? How best to make a complete installation of DW so that we can get this glitch fixed please? Should we delete the prefs as well?
    My FLV file was made in Squeeze software by the way, but has the icon from VLC as I like to open up the FLVs in this software.
    Best regards
    Paul

  • Scrolling text in Dreamweaver CS4

    I need to be able to scroll through text without scrolling down the page. In other words, I have a need for a page to maintain a fixed height, regardless of how much text might be needed. Therefore, I need a scroll bar assigned to text in a table cell.
    Is this a function of Dreamweaver CS4? How is this effect achieved?
    Thanks!

    Try inserting a  div (with id="horiztxt") into your cell. Move the cell's text into the div.  And then style that div with css:
    div#horizhtxt {
         overflow-x:scroll;
    Does that work for you?

  • Dreamweaver CS4 won't open in Windows 8.1

    I update my windows 8 and  installed Windows 8.1.  I have the Adobe creative Suite 4 which I run Dreamweaver, Acrobat and Photoshop.  Acrobat and Photoshop work fine but Dreamweaver gives me the error "the application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect" when I try to open it.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall and that didn't work.  I tried downloading Microsoft C++ redistributable and installed and that didn't work.   What is going on here??  I need this program to work.

    I would try restoring preferences: Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5
    If that doesn't work, a Clean and Reinstall might do it...

  • Windows 7 Ultimate, Dreamweaver CS4, error message 148:3

    Dreamweaver starts but as soon as it does it exits and my desktop is the only thing on the screen.  My Dreamweaver ran fine  before I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate from Windows Vista Ultimate.

    The first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
    If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences

  • Footer displayed inaccurately in Dreamweaver CS4 php page

    Hi,
    I recently upgraded from Dreamweaver 8 to Dreamweaver CS4. Our organization site uses mostly php pages. When I attempt to open these pages in Dreamweaver CS4 the footer menu bar displays innacurately down through the center of the page and won't allow any edits as it acts like a top layer or something. Usually it acts as a menu bar on the top of any page on our website.
    As it should appear from an online screen shot: You'll notice the orange menu bar across the top.
    A shot of the Design View in Dreamweaver CS4:  You'll see the menu options are running down the center of the page as text.

    The live view or preview functions do not work and lead to the error: "Not Found, the requested URL/html/index.php was not found on this server.'   This is another issue that I don't understand.
    Unfortunately, I did not develop this website and have a minimal knowledge of html and Dreamweaver.  I'm not sure if I can answer the question about which menu system we're using - would seeing the code of the footer help?   I'll paste below in case.
    And just to be clear, the problem only occurs in editing in Dreamweaver, but when uploaded to our server it appears correctly.

  • PHP Function List in Dreamweaver?

    Does Dreamweaver MX 2004 (or later versions) have the
    capability of pulling up a list of PHP functions you've created in
    code view --- where you could click on a function name and your
    cursor or focus would be automatically directed to the start of the
    function? I know this capability is available in other text/code
    editors such as Notepad++, but I didn't know if this feature was
    somewhere available in Dreamweaver --- perhaps in a plug-in?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    I don't know about MX 2004, but it's definitely available in
    CS3 and the
    beta of CS4. Right-click in Code view and select Functions
    from the
    context menu. It displays a full list of user defined
    functions. Click
    one of them, and you're taken directly to the function
    definition.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 and PHP require_once, require, include_once, include absolute paths

    I have a question about Dreamweaver CS4's new functionality that lists required and included files in a second row below the name of the file you are currently editing. It's handy.
    I see that Dreamweaver attempts to list all the included files for a given page so that it is easier to find and edit those files.
    For example.  If I had a HTML document called index.html that linked to a CSS document called style.css, when I open index.html, Dreamweaver CS4 lists style.css in a row below index.html.
    My problem is this.  This new functionality works on absolute paths and relative paths for HTML elements. For example, it can find and link to CSS files regardless of if the src tag is relative  or absolute (/css/style.css)
    REFRESHER: absolute paths start with a "/" as in "/css/style.css" and relative paths do not start with a "/" as in "css/style.css" or "../../css/style.css"
    However, PHP files that are linked to the current page via require, require_once, include, or include_once, only appear to work if you use a relative path.
    So this would work in Dreamweaver:
    require_once('../lib/config.php');
    But this would not
    require_once('/home/matt/mydomain.com/html/lib/config.php');
    As any PHP developer knows, you are never supposed to use relative paths with included or required files.  Especially if your site has multiple levels of sub directories.  Relative paths are relative to the calling php document.  It causes a bunch of problems.  I can explain how if you want.
    How can I tell Dreamweaver that the base directory on my apache web server for my domain...
    /home/matt/mydomain.com/html/
    ... is the equivalent of the base directory on my home computer where dreamweaver accesses my files.
    C:\Users\Matt\Documents\My Websites\mydomain.com\
    So that when I write...
    require_once('/home/matt/mydomain.com/html/lib/config.php');
    ... how can I force dreamweaver understand that "/home/matt/mydomain.com/html/" is the same as "C:\Users\Matt\Documents\My Websites\mydomain.com\" on my home computer. So that way, this new Dreamweaver CS4 submenu feature can find and link to the correct file.
    Essentially, can I define Dreamweaver "include paths" for Dreamweaver to search in if the file I'm trying to include is not in the same directory?

    Perhaps you ought to inform the PHP documentation team. All the examples in the PHP manual use relative paths.

    Dreamweaver parses only relative paths in PHP includes. The Related Files feature was a new addition in Dreamweaver CS4, so it's not 100% perfect. Having the ability to define your own include_path for Dreamweaver to parse would be a useful improvement. • How to Make Dreamweaver CS4/Flash CS4 Website Function on all Latest Mobile Devices

    Hello!
    I am trying to add code into my Dreamweaver CS4 file and/or Flash CS4 file in order to have the website I have created work across all of the latest mobile devices as well as traditional online systems. My flash file has a transparent stage, and my dreamweaver file has a full-screen background image. I have reviewed various tutorials and articles available online, and some advocate simply adding code, which does not seem to be working for me, while others suggest having a similar separate site created solely for mobile devices. If this is the best option, I don't know how that should be set up. What is the best path to take with this?
    This is the collection of various pieces of code I have tried adding to my files:
      <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" user-scalable="yes" initial-scale="1.0" /> <!-- iphone,android -->
       <meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="true" /> <!-- blackberry -->

I also do not know what code should be inside the Flash file, nor what should should be inside the Dreamweaver file.
    Thank you in advance for any assistance!

    Hi
    To add to what Gramps has said, Adobe has ceased developing its flash player for ALL mobile devices so do not use Flash for any mobile device.
    Depending on the complexity of your Flash program you may be able to recreate it using Edge, but the code generated by Edge does not work in IE8 or below.
    For details on Edge, see - http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/edge/

    There is no simple code to add that will display the same on all mobile devices....
    you do know that the iProducts (iPhone, iPad, etc) don't display Flash at all, right?
    So as a start for "functioning on all latest mobile devices" you should drop any Flash content you have and move on.

  • Setting up Dreamweaver CS4 with PHP testing server... Live View doesnt work

    Hello,
    Im trying to setup Dreamweaver CS4 with a php website im
    making. Ive setup the site information, and provided a testing site
    (XAMPP), and i can see the fully rendered .php pages in the Live
    View tab. However, say i change some of the text in the .php file
    (say from <p>Hello</p> to <p>Hi</p>) and
    then click in the Live View tab - the page does not update. It
    seems to do something, bit just returns the same.
    How do i set it up so, like with plain .html pages, you can
    make a change to the source code and instantly see the change in
    Live View?
    (At the moment i have to make the change to the source code,
    save it, click Live View to cancel it, and then click Live View
    again).
    Background:
    Ive setup XAMPP (G:\XAMPP\)
    Ive setup vhosts in apache.
    Ive stored my websites in G:\Websites
    Ive set the testing server to G:\Websites\site, where "site"
    is setup as a vhost and correctly displays when entered into a
    browser.
    Ive set the url prefix to
    http://site/
    Ive set local root to G:\Websites\site
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

    Did you try using F5 to refresh the page? If that doesn't
    work for you,
    then you'll have to drop and restart Live view. No need to
    save and reload
    the page.
