Import a java project

Hi
I have been working with a project in i Entrprise 8.1 on a Linux machine. I would like to move it to windows machine (Win XP) with Enterprise 8.1 on it. But I don't understan how to do it. I have tried to simply copy my folders to the folder where I have my other windows based projects but it dosn't work. Is it possible to move between linux and windows?
Jonas

In general, projects should be transferable between machines, with the following caveats:
1. Ensure that files are transferred correctly. For instance, CR/LF is treated differently by different operating systems and sometimes ftping files without taking this into account may result in corrupted files in the target.
2. Under nbproject directory, there is a directory called 'private' which contains files that are not transferable. They contain hard-coded paths and other local information that will break on another machine. These files should not be copied over but need to be recreated on the target. (When a project with such missing information is opened in the ide, the ide marks such projects as having external conflicts and lets the user manually correct the conflicts).
Can you post what specifically are the errors and/or stacktraces you are seeing?

    Is this possible?
    Please tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    iMovie cannot edit mpg files, unles they come directly from a supported camera.
    I would suggest that you use a free third party app to convert it.
    Get MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5, which is free.
    Drag you mpg clip into MPEG Streamclip.
    Then, FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME
    Choose Apple Intermediate Codec, and save it where you can find it. You should be able to import this file into iMovie, using the FILE/IMPORT/MOVIE command.
    Note: If your file is an MPEG2 clip, you may need to purchase the Apple QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component from Apple. MPEG Streamclip will tell you if you need this. Don't buy it unless you have to. It costs about $20. You just have to install the component. MPEG Streamclip will use it in the background.

  • How to import java project to Eclipse?

    Hi
    I just got a java project which has jsp, java, struts and the .settings folder has
    org.eclipse.core.resources.prefs
    org.eclipse.jdt.ui.prefs
    org.eclipse.ltk.core.refactoring.prefs
    org.eclipse.wst.validation.prefs
    .Project file has <name>org.eclipse.jdt.core.javabuilder</name>
         <nature>org.eclipse.jdt.core.javanature</nature>
    The jsp and java files are under src folder.
    Since it is my first time to use eclipse platform, I do not know where should I put all those source files?
    Is it a dynamic web application to have those *.prefs in .settings folder?
    Thanks for help

    Why have you posted this in the JSF forum? This has nothing to do with JSF.
    To import an existing project in Eclipse, just rightclick somewhere at Project Explorer and choose Import.

  • Can't importing a Flex project within a Java project

    Hello,
    I am taking over an existing project from a vendor that is no longer involved that has a two Flex projects inside of the Java project. I am using the Flash Builder plugin inside Eclipse.  I have checked out the Java project locally and brought it into Eclipse and it builds perfectly.  My issue is in getting Flash Builder to recognize or import the two Flex projects within.  I have tried various methods of adding or importing the Flex project into my workspace but they all break the file structure in one way or another and thus make it impossible to compile in the structure that was set up.  It looks like Flex was set up to build into the webapp/flash/projectname/build folder.  No matter what I do Flash Builder creates other output folders or project folders.  I have tried add project type, import and new.  The original .project and .actionScriptProperties files are there but Flash builder seems to ignore them and create new ones elsewhere.
    The file structure looks like this:
    javaproject
         src
              main
                   Flex
                        flexprojectone
                        flexprojecttwo
                   java
                   resources
                   webapp
                        flash
                             flexprojectone
                                  build
                             flexprojecttwo
                                  build
                        internal
                        lib
                        themes
                        WEB-INF
    Thank you

  • Importing existing DC project (WebDynpro Java)

    Hi Experts,
    I have a WebDynpro Java project which I had exported from my previous project. Now when I am trying to import it again in NWDS, it says *.project file not found.
    The reason is that my project was a DC project and not a WebDynpro project. But now I want to import it in NWDS stand alone and refer it.
    How do I do it?
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    Shobhit

    Hi shobhit,
    If you have the dc was in your local development only (NOT in any central DTR track) importing it in NWDS using import option will import it as local non-dc project.
    For importing the dc (local development one only) correctly there is work-around only till now.
    You can create a new dc project in your local development (local development in NWDS which comes as default) and then copy the src folders from the project you want to import to this new dc project. Basically you are creating a new project only and copying sources from old project.

  • [ot] A UML tool for a new Java project

    I am working on the new Java project and need a UML tool to get it start. I am wondering whether anyone one can recommend such tool or not. It can be either stand alone or as an Eclipse plug-in. It shall be able to handle at least 50 classes.
    Thanks.

    Is it any good? I haven't tried it but we're
    evaluating UML tools here and it's on my list to play
    with.
    PS.If you mean SDE....
    I have only used the personal edition at home, and the other versions have more functionality available
    My impressions, FWIW, are
    - easier to use than rational rose (I find this one which I have to use at work to be a pain), although, paradoxically enough, they are not that dissimilar in appearance
    - I was able to create some reasonably complex models without any problems
    - easy to install and start using - no great learning curve
    - I tried importing a model I had exported from rose and that did not work very well at all.
    - this applies to version 2.2

  • Imported iMovie HD project clips have incorrect capture date - add-on info

    People converting their .dv files from the iMovie HD style into iMovie 09 style report some frustration at having to rename their clips to view them properly. For discussion, see:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1344628
    Fortunately, within the thread, a kind soul has posted a solution - many thanks. This posting is an add-on to that thread, posted here because that thread is archived.
    Unfortunately, I could not understand the instructions fully, so I spent some time working out how to make it go, since the solution requires something beyond the usual drag-and-drop to work.
    *To Convert the Dates and Names of DV Files from iMovie HD to the Event-Date Format of iMovie 09*
    1. Download and Unzip the DVRecordingDate file. It produces a folder with four items: COPYING.txt, DVRecordingDate.class, README.txt and DVRecordingDate.java. None of these should be double clicked.
    2. Identify the folder that has your iMovie 6 .dv files. These files will be entirely renamed, so if they are used in any other projects, only work on a copy of them.
    3. Launch the program Terminal - it's in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder
    4. When you see a prompt ending in a $, type +cd /Users/yourname/Downloads/DVrecordingDate-1-1.0+,
    where /Users/yourname/Downloads/DVrecordingDate-1-1.0 is the folder containing the downloaded DVRecordingDate file. This will change the prompt that appears on every line, but it will still end with a $.
    (HINT: you can get the path name of this folder by selecting it in the Finder, and choosing copy. All you then need do is type cd in Terminal, and paste the rest in.)
    Now is when we rename the files - as stated elsewhere, the Finder creation date is NOT changed - it is only the file name that changes. However, this is enough for iMovie 09 to understand when the file was recorded, and where it should be stored within the events system.
    5. At the $ prompt, type +java DVRecordingDate -rename /Users/yourname/Movies/iMovie\ Events.localized/myholiday/Clip\ *.dv+, where +/Users/yourname/Movies/iMovie\ myholiday/+ is the name of the the folder that has your iMovie 6 .dv files. Again, this can be copied from the Finder, and pasted in after typing java DVRecordingDate -rename. The *.dv part os to ensure the program coverts all your files in the folder.
    A list appears:
    Renaming file(s) from, to:
    /Users/yourname/Movies/myholiday/Clip 01.dv clip-2003-08-31 20;37;41.dv
    /Users/yourname/Movies/myholiday/Clip 02.dv clip-2003-09-04 18;43;26.dv
    /Users/yourname/Movies/imyholiday/Clip 03.dv clip-2003-09-04 19;00;50.dv
    etc
    and in the Finder all the files are renamed.
    And that's it. You can now import the .dv files into iMovie 09 and it will give the files their proper dates within the system.
    Hope this saves someone some time...

    No, I mean that when I import old iMovie projects into iMovie 08 the 'capture date' of footage is not correctly imported (the .dv file creation date is read in instead). Sorry to confuse the issue with the comment about the camera: I just meant to say that all the equipment I used in my setup is fairly standard yet there is a glaring bug in this fundamental functionality.
    Regarding re-import: it took me ages to originally import my dv tapes to the computer & not really practical to go through that again.
    FWIW, I've not yet imported anything from dv directly into 08

  • [Urgent] using javafx object in java project

    Suppose I here created a very simple java project and the main file is like below,
    public class test {
        public static void main(String[] args){
                System.out.println("Hello World!");
    }and in this particular java project, I need to use another javafx object which is defined as (the javafx and java file are in the same package),
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Rectangle;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Circle;
    var stage: Stage = Stage {
        title: "Declaring Is Easy!"
        scene: Scene {
            width: 300
            height: 250
            content: [
                Circle {
                    centerX: 150  centerY: 120 radius: 80
                    fill: Color.MAROON
                    stroke: Color.INDIANRED
                    strokeWidth: 10.0
                }, //Circle
                Rectangle {
                    x: 25, y: 80 width: 250, height: 80

                    fill: Color.web("#6699ff")
                    stroke: Color.web("#003399")
              strokeWidth: 5.0
                } //Rectangle
            ] //Content
        } //Scene
    } //StageSo how could I achieve this?
    Regards.

    Thanks for your reply.
    But would you please elaborate on this sentence: create the fx class using Class.forName("....").newInstance()?
    Indeed I implemented an interface which was extended by the javafx class, and in the main java file I need to write following codes to use this object,
    Context context = FXLocal.getContext();
            FXClassType instance = context.findClass("packageName.JavaFXClass");
            ObjectValue obj = (ObjectValue)instance.newInstance();
            JavaInterface ji = (JavaInterface)obj.asObject();The problem that I encountered right now is, the exception was thrown at context.findClass("javatest.MyChart");, since it's not able for the compiler to find the JavaFXClass.class.
    I checked the folder build\classes\packageName and noticed that both my main JavaClass and JavaInterface have been compiled with .class file, while the JavaFXClass was not, which means the file JavaFXClass.class doesn't exist.
    What's the solution?

  • Unable to import a java class in a jsp file

    Hi,
    I am trying to import a java class in my jsp.
    ------------------jsp---------------
    <jsp:useBean id="form" class="com.company.portlets.searchApps.object.SearchOBJ" scope="request" />
    <jsp:setProperty name="form" property="*" />
    <input type="TEXT" name="projectID" value='<%= form.getProjectID() %>'>
    When I run the above JSP, it says that class 'com.company.portlets.searchApps.object.SearchOBJ' cannot be found.
    Why?
    My project structure looks like this:
    Project
    +Application Sources
    ++com.company.portlets.searchApps.object
    +++SearchOBJ.java
    +Web Content
    ++htdocs
    +++searchappsportlet
    ++++SearchAppsPortletShowPage.jsp
    ++WEB-INF
    +++index.jsp
    +Resources
    ++SearchApps.deploy
    Please advice...thanks!

    The way that JDeveloper organized the files was like this:
    C:\jdev1012\jdev\mywork\WksSearchApps\Project\classes\com\company\portlets\searchAPPS\object\SearchOBJ.class
    I am assuming that JDeveloper puts the file where they are suppose to be...if not, how do I change that?

  • How to connect java project to sql server 2008 r2 database

    i want to create an java application which has to create a database and later access it. My problem is that i am not able to connect sql server 2008 r2 database driver on to the netbeans.i have sql server 2008 r2 installed on my system.please
    suggest me the step by step procedure to establish the connection

    Hi ENG,
    To establish a connection to SQL Server from a Java project, you have to download the JDBC driver for SQL Server from
    here.
    After extracting the jar files(like sqljdbc.jar) from the above link, add the driver to the netbeansIDE.
    Test establishing a connection with the below Java Class.
    import java.sql.*;
    public class Test {
    public static void main(String[] srg) {
    String driverName = "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver"; //load the jdbc driver
    String dbURL = "jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433; DatabaseName=test"; //connection string to the db hosted on localhost
    String userName = "sa"; //user name
    String userPwd = "123456"; //password
    Connection dbConn;
    try {
    Class.forName(driverName);
    dbConn = DriverManager.getConnection(dbURL, userName, userPwd);
    System.out.println("Connection Successful!"); //print Connection Successful! if connection establishes
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();

    Hi praveen,
    your project refers to a dictionary that you haven't in the project. Besides, right click on the WD project and check all the external references to others projects. You must open the external projects pointed by your WD.
    Hope this help you,
