Import duties flowing in MIGO but not in J1IEX

Hi Gurus,
I am seeing the Cenvatable duties CVD and ADC, are not flowing in J1IEX, whereas if I do the process of capture and post in MIGO the duties are flowing and updated in registers.
Any thing missing that the same duties are not flowing in J1IEX. ( after updating the RG23A part1 in j1I5)

Your second screen shot - It shows part 1 is updated . Then why you are capturing Exc in J1iex.

But i think EXP_FULL_DATABASE have not DBA rule, but IMP_FULL_DATABASE have.

XML import issues in CS5.5, but not CS5...

Hi guys,
I'm currently using the Production Premium CS5.5, and have been trying to import an XML from Final Cut Pro 7 into Premiere. The issue is that none of my audio tracks appear in the sequence, nor any video tracks aside from my 2 main tracks.
This isn't a problem in the previous version (CS5), as I can import the same XML and all my audio tracks, etc. show up in the sequence.
Since I just started playing with CS5.5, I'm wondering if there's something I don't have set up properly? Is there a conflict w/ having CS5 and 5.5 installed? Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?

So, I started figuring out what the issue is, but not how to fix it:
I had some overlay graphics (Quicktimes w/ Alphas) that were placed over my main video track, which I suppose Premiere doesn't like.
The thing I can't figure out, is why I could still bring in the rest of the project with CS5, but not CS5.5.....

I can import presets in LR 4, but not LR 5. Any advice?

I can import presets into LR 4, but I cannot import into LR 5. If I right click on "User Presets" nothing happens. If I go to "preferences" and try to load from there, nothing will load.

You normally copy the lrtemplate file directly into the user presets folder
If you click the button in preferences (presets tab) “Show Lightroom Presets Folder” it will take you to the folder location.
Double click on Lightroom folder
Double click on Develop Presets folder
You should now see the User Presets folder – you can copy or drag into this.
If LR is still running, quit and restart.

CDs import OK to iTunes Windows but not to iTunes MacOS! I have had 3 successive audio CDs with the same problem. They have exactly 20 tracks each, and track 19 claims to be over 14 hours long, and track 20 over 1 hour long. Any clues?

I have an ageing (2006) iMac running OS 10.6.8 with an external LG CD/DVD writer (I've worn out the internal one). I am not sure whether this is an iTunes issue or a LG issue.
Incident 1: importing a CD with 71 short tracks via iTunes. Track 24 is listed as 25 seconds long, but (on the first attempt) only the first 10 seconds actually import. I spotted it immediately as it also blacked out the artwork and refused to let me paste the artwork back in. A second attempt at the import worked correctly. ** SOLVED AT 2ND ATTEMPT **
Incident 2: importing a CD with 20 tracks averaging a little over 3 minutes each. Gracenote did not recognise the disc. The first 18 tracks showed reasonable track lengths, but track 19 showed 14 hours 43 minutes 21 seconds [!] and track 20 showed over 1 hour [possibly track 20 was showing the length of the entire CD]. The remaining 2 tracks were successfully imported into my other iTunes on a Windows XP machine (where Gracenote *did* recognise the CD) and transferred to the Mac over my internal network. The next 2 CDs also had exactly 20 tracks each, and also had track 19 showing 14 hours 43 minutes and a few seconds (not quite the same as the original track 19, but close...) and track 20 showing over 1 hour [again possibly the length of the entire CD].
I tried "Get album artwork" on one of the early tracks of one of the CDs, and it came back with an error "Invalid TOC" - this looks to me like the table of contents is getting corrupted (hence the bizarre track lengths reported, and hence Gracenote not recognising the resulting bizarre profile) when there are exactly 20 tracks on the CD.
But a CD with 21 tracks looks OK, and so does a CD with 8 tracks.
I'm putting this one down as ** SOLVED BY USING ITUNES ON WIN-XP AND TRANSFERRING FILES BETWEEN MACHINES ** but I would like to know what is going on!
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

At the lower bitrates that were popular several years ago, like 128, AAC provides better audio quality than MP3. At some point ( the dbPoweramp experts believe it is 160 ) the advantage disappears, and above that AAC and MP3 are sonically equivalent. However, MP3 still enjoys a huge advantage in acceptance and compatibility across multiple players, programs, and phones.
In any case, it hardly appears to be worth the trouble to re-rip your CDs. But don't discard them either!

Iphoto imported photos from my ipad but not from the "photo stream"- why?

I'm trying to get all files off my brother's old ipad before restoring it. I imported photos onto my computer using iphoto, but it didn't import the photos in the "photostream" on the ipad- why not? I saw that iphoto will only import photos that were taken on the ipad but I'm pretty certain these were. Thank you.

Let me try and explain it this way.
Say I have taken ten pictures, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
These were imported to iPhoto and went into an event it created called June 2013 Photostream. They were all imported and showed up in order 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Some of them I have now tagged faces in etc.
When I go back now and look in the June 2013 Photostream I only see 1,3,4,5,6,9,10
But if I look in the last 12 months album I still see 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 in the right place and the right order
Pictures 5,6,7,8 all had my face tagged and when I look in my face album 5,6,7,8 all show in the right place in the right order.
I have got iPhoto to rebuild the library etc and they do not go back to showing in the Photostream import folder.

How can this be rectified to pass the proper entry at the time miro.

I think you missed the A/P AT1 cond type maintained in Excise defaults.

Import addresses into previous recipients but not into address book

I would like to import a list of email addresses into the previous recipients list. I know how to import them into my address book but I don't want them all in my address book. I just need them to be available to auto complete when I start typing them. Is there a way to do that?

Mail's previous recipients list is not a user modifiable database other than to remove entries in the database.

Iphoto imports some movies ok..but not all????

iPhoto imports everything but some movie clips I've taken come up as .mov files and others as (poor quality) jpgs?
Why? Whats going on?

It displays a thumbnail of a .jpg and not a .mov.
You click on it and you get an enlarged version, just a poor quality photo.
This only happens SOMETIMES.
One movie may be imported as a .mov (with the correct info on iphoto page); ie: double click gets you what you want.
The next one may not and is just the dodgy .jpg.
Any clues????

Some JPG and AVI files imported from camera to iphoto, but not all

I just imported from camera to iPhoto using card reader and half the pics and a couple movies came over. The rest aren't recognized by my iMac, even though they say JPG and AVI and still run fine on camera. I installed Perian plugin a while back at the recommendation of one of you, which solved that problem and I just installed the recent update. I used time machine to restore old version, but that didn't work. I don't know if this is a Quicktime (v 7.4.1) issue or a problem with the flashcard. I tried opening via photoshop and iMovie. Photoshop CS3's message says "Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found." iMovie, when I try to drag movie into it says "The file could not be imported: ... Quicktime couldn't parse it: -2048". Hopefully one of you knows what is going on. Thanks!!!

Are you running a "referenced" or "managed" library?
Give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Why can i import an omf in pyramix but not in audition?

i simply cannot import an omf file into audition cs6 (with the latest updates). i can open the same file in pyramix no problem...........what am i doing wrong.....or is it the software failing to deliver?
the result is having to abandon audition (my preferred daw) in favour of an overcomplex but workable alternative.

Oh but they can and there is one - AES31 (an ADL for the uninitiated) a nice simple text readable standard which is only implemented (poorly) by a few DAWS. Unfortunately, Avid/Dodgy told the world to jam AES31 up their ginger because they had the standard to beat all standards - OMF1. A format that was so complex and delivered so little but that didn't matter - when the 'industry standard' (LOL) DAW talks everyone must obey.
But hang on - it couldn't be such a good standard because they came out with OMF2 which was much better because it was even more complex but again that didn't matter because Avid products would use the undocumented areas of this complex format to pass info between only their products.
Well the world struggled with this for a long time with DAWs doing the best to read and write this horrendously complex and dubious format and it was then the the powers that be decided that this was no good some other 'non-industry standard' daws were actually able to use some variants of the OMF format so they thought that because they run the show they could get together and come up with a format that was not only more complex but would actually deliver less and see if they could get away with it - you betcha and that was where AAF comes in.
Bottom line is that there is no 'standard' allowed unless it's an Avid/Dodgy one and they really aren't interesed in one - remember everyone has to be 'PT compatible' (what a joke!)
Does that give you an idea of how this game is played?

Art shows in itunes cover flow & album view but not on ipod

I spent several hours downloading cover art to itunes for albums where the art couldn't be automatically retrieved by itunes. I'd browse through album view, and for every album that had no art, I'd (a) select the album by clicking on the default music-note image and thus activate the drag-and-drop target in the lower left, and (b) drag some art from a website. When I was done with this, all the albums for which I downloaded art would properly show art in the itunes cover flow and in album view mode.
For the iPod (a 160GB Classic), I deselected "display album art on your ipod", hit "apply" to have it delete the art, then reselected and applied again, and itunes went through the process of formating and downloading the art to the ipod.
Now, however, the iPod still only shows the artwork that had been automatically retrieved; all the art I had added manually won't show. Back in itunes, I notice that it looks like my process for downloading the art only resulted in the art being applied to one song per album, as far as I can tell randomly selected. If, in album view, I select each song individually, the art will show in the lower left corner (and in "get info") only for one of the songs; on one album it might be track 1 while on another it might be track 7. However this is enough for itunes to show the art for the whole album, and also to show the art in cover flow.
Is there any automatic way to synchronize the art over a whole album, or at least to get it to download to the ipod so that it shows in cover flow and album view on the device as well as on the computer? I had to download art for about 190 albums; it would be a real drag to have to do that again.

Ok, here is the method I used. Another member gave this to me. It has worked for my iTunes library, and hopefully my ipod on the next sync.
I opened iTunes and Safari, with Safari on Amazon.com (to get the art). I would play any song from an album and command-click the each song in the album. Once each song is highlighted, I hit command-I to change info. I then dragged the art from Safari to the small box on the right of the smaller info change screen. This resulted in every song highlighted displaying the same artwork.

Aperture 3.3.1 Import fails on hard drives, but not SD cards (bug??)

After countless hours of research and attempting the A3: Troubleshooting Basics (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805), I have found a weird bug that I can reproduce.
If you import images, the import window will show some folders on a hard drive (and the corresponding images inside them) and not others. These exact images are viewable on an SD card. When clicking on a folder, it says "Loading Assets" for a second and then shows nothing. It doesn't matter what brand of camera, when the photos are taken, which hard drive. (Import is set to not exclude anything either).
I have tried the entire Troubleshooting Basics guide (creating a new library, using the first aid tools, deleting preferences, even a fresh install A3). I even tried different hard drives (all Mac formatted and have worked with Aperture before). Lastly, I even tried my other Macs with fresh copies of A3.3.1.
The final test was rolling back. I deleted all the old Aperture files (app, plists, etc...) and loaded Aperture 3.1 Trial that I had laying around. Surprisingly, it found the images as normal. However, once the AppStore updated to 3.1.1.... same behavior.
Any suggestions?

The problem was, that a broken file on my Desktop messed up the Import panel.
As soon as I add a certain empty PDF file with the name "119435-45-55 [6L].pdf" to my Desktop, strange things will happen with the Import panel on all three of my Macs running MacOS X 10.9.3 and Aperture 3.5.1. It took me a while to identify the file, because Aperture does show the filename as empty and does not show a preview.
The Import window will be messed up -
missing icons from the Toolbar and Import settings pane,
the File Chooser will be empty,
the busy indicator will show "Loading assets", and the Activity Window "Building Thumbnails"
The thumbnail of the corrupted file will be empty and the filename is showing as empty,
When I switch to list view, all text will be upside down as shown in my original post.
The problem is not caused by the brackets in the filename; if I rename the file, Aperture is still acting up. The file cannot be opened in Preview either.

Renaming during import in LR 3 works, but not in catalogue

When importing photos from my camera, I always rename my photos.
In Lightroom 3, this works well, but now and then, the catalogue stills shows the old name, but isn't able to find the file (as it was renamed by lightroom)
Example:
Original name on camera: _IMG_001
Rename to: yymmdd-001
Filename on disk: yymmdd-001
Filenamen in catalogue: _IMG_001
Any thoughts on why this may happen?
I use LR3, have a Canon 5D MkII.

The only cause for this I know of, is if you have checked to make a backup of files to another location, and the particular renamed file already exists in the backup location. That is a known bug.
