  • Problems in importing MDL File

    Hello,
I want to import MDL file into OWB repository using ombplus. But I want to import only selective objects. I see that there is an option in UI to import selective objects. But I couldnot find any ombplus option.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Madhavi

    Hello,
To select some of the objects of your MDL, you have to use a TCL script including OMB language syntax in which you'll give the names of the objects that you want to import. It works in the same way for whatever you want to do.
Feel free to read others subjects in which I participated because I gave a lot of TCL scripts examples.
    Hope it'll help you.

  • Importing AVI file problem

I am getting the message " Selected file does not contain video data, is not a supported video file format, or video codec required is not found." I have used and still use Audition 1.5 with no problems. My other video editing programs have no problems. I unsucessfully tried importing AVI into Audtition 2 when it came out and after a few days gave up and stayed with 1.5. I want to upgrade, but I need to be able to import AVI files reliably. I have the most current codecs and they all seem to be working properly.

    >So, do other audio editors handle video easily, or is Audition like other editors? Reason I ask: I'm going to be working with video in the very near future. I've got 1.5 and from the sounds of things, it's the Adobe audio product that plays best with video.
By all accounts, some other editors handle it better. But since I stopped editing video years ago, I can't tell you which. There have been threads about it though - it might be worth a search. By and large, I think that it's the more expensive ones that do this, though. If you have AA1.5 it's worth trying this to see if it fits your needs though - it's about the only version that can easily be used for voice-to-picture work - as ryclark attests. It's particularly useful in this case, because you can keep the talent in a quiet place with just a mic and monitor for company, and no PC...
    >And if Audition doesn't handle video as well as other 'primarily audio' editors, is that cuz Adobe's trying to nudge people toward their video products?
I think that they're trying to nudge people towards SoundBooth, but this doesn't exactly recieve universal approbation in terms of audio for video, to say the least...

  • Importing excel files - problem with single quote

When importing excel files using 1.5, I can't get data with single quotes (') imported.
When I run the insert statement given in SQLPlus I get "ORA-01756: quoted string not properly terminated", which is different than the error that SQL Developer gives me (see below).
Also, I have a numeric value shown without a thousands comma-separator in the XLS file that I'm trying to load into a varchar2 field. But, the insert statements have added a thousands comma-separator which I don't want.
REM Error starting at line 1 in command:
REM INSERT INTO table (ID, NAME, CODE)
    REM VALUES (2427407, 'Ed-u-care Children's Center', '73,000');
REM Error at Command Line:2 Column:37
    REM Error report:
REM SQL Error: ORA-00917: missing comma
    REM 00917. 00000 - "missing comma"
    REM *Cause:
    REM *Action:
One last thing, TOAD gives a way to automap columns chosen from XLS to the columns in the database. It sure would be nice to have this functionality in SQL Developer.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Did you consider both to be bugs (i.e., single quote issue and thousands comma separator issue)?
    Thanks

  • Importing word file - problem in style capturing

    Hi All,
I have a problem in importing the wordfile into Indesign CS3.
We have created all the Para & character styles in Indesign CS3.
The same style was created in Word also, we have a set of guys to do the pre-editing the input wordfile which we got from client.
We have applied all the character and para styles in Wordfile, which uses the same names in Indesign CS3.
When we import the wordfile into the Indesign CS3 all the para & character shows "+" marks and the style was not applied.
What will be the problem, why it is behaving like this, we have checked the "import options" while importing the word, but it fails.
Is anyone have these type of problem.
We need to know that how to solve this, since the reference part has lots of character style applied, we cannot clear the "+" manually in Indesign CS3 to solve.

    > So we like to open a topic reg. this to get solved.
This is a user-to-user forum. We're all just users like you.
From what I could tell from your post, Indesign is working as intended.
There is no solution because there really is no problem.
    > Giving char style for bold and italics and special character will
    > won't solve this, after importing into the template we need to clear
    > the overrides that become manual one and we don't know what else has
    > changed in the content, this will leads to problems.
Yes. Clearing overrides does clear all non-styled formatting, which is
why I suggested using Find/Replace to find the good formatting before
you clear the bad formatting. Specifically, you mentioned wanting to
keep bold and italic. The other character-level formatting from Word
that you will probably want to keep is:
    --Strikethrough
    --Underline
    --Superscript
    --Subscript
    --Small Caps
    --All Caps
    --Bold Ital
    --Bold
    --Ital
There may be other character-level unstyled formatting you want to keep.
This depends on what the author put into the file.
If you're getting the same kind of files all the time, you can develop a
routine for these Find/Replaces. You can save your Find/Replaces, use
GREP, even string all the Find/Replaces together in a script. What you
can't do is expect Indesign to know which unstyled formatting is "good"
and which formatting is "bad". Only you know what you want to keep and
what you want to throw away.

  • Importing .dv file problem

    Hi
I'm using MPEG Streamclip to convert the .rec file on my DVR to a .dv file.
The .rec file on my DVR is 2.5 Gig, after the conversion to .dv it's a huge 11.36 Gig. Any way the problem is it won't import into imovie I get a "unknown error" message
Have tried more than one file with same result.
    Any help would be great
    Thanks
    Pete
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)   MacBook Pro 1.83

Did you do the conversion like described here:
    http://www.sjoki.uta.fi/~shmhav/SVCDon_a_Macintosh.html#edit_convertMPEG
And the video standard fro iMovie project was the same as with the .dv clip? Did you have the same amount of HD free space as the .dv clip (iMovie duplicates it when importing)?iMovie should import such clips OK.
Or you can use this workaround to save time and HD space:

  • Final Cut Pro 7 Import Mp4 File Problem

Help! I have been using FCP 7 for some time now and all of a sudden I cannot import an Mp4 file. I get a file error saying the FCP does not recognize the file? I have been importing and using Mp4 files all along. I can't find any setting in FCP that would address this problem?

FCP doesn't work with MP4 (or H.264) files natively.   Sometimes they work, but it wasn't designed to do so.  For a list of the formats that FCP does work with natively, look at the Easy Setup list.  Create your Sequence using one of those then convert the MP4 file to to match that prior to importing it into your FCP project.

  • Import VOB file problem

Why does a VOB file, which when played on a dvd  (TV) player displays correctly as 16:9 aspect and plays smoothly but when down loaded displays as 4:3 (I think or appears to be) AND has "jittery" motion movement

I know of no reason this would happen, if you're using the proper workflow, Gazz.
Can you post a sample of this video to YouTube or Vimeo or Muvipix so that we can have a look at it?
"Jittery" can mean lots of things. If we can see the specific jitteriness you're seeing, we may be able to better diagnose the problem.
