Import package.* doesnot work..

hello all..
I have this problem. I have made two classes, A.java and B.java. Both the classes are in the same folder.
Class A.java
package pack1;
public class A
     public void testA()
          System.out.println("Package Pack1 : A ");
Class B.java
import pack1.A;
public class B
     public static void main(String args[])
          A a = new A();
          a.testA();
Now, i compile them using the following
javac -d . A.java
javac -d -classpath ;.; B.java
On running the Class B, it runs successfully. But when i change the import statment from
import pack1.A; to import pack1.*;
it gives me a bad class error, What is the problem here

On running the Class B, it runs successfully. But
when i change the import statment from
import pack1.A; to import pack1.*;
it gives me a bad class error, What is the problem
herePaste in the exact code that gives you that error, and the exact, complete erorr message.

  • Import scenario package not working

    Hi exports,
    On a test environment i created a scenario which i now would like to transfer to another server.
    I exported the correct scenario, but on the other server, the import is not working.
    I can submit my package, it shows that there is no current version of this package, but hitting the "IMPORT" button doesnt do anything.
    Im using (on both servers) SAP B1 9.0 pl 08 with the same integration framework.
    Any idea's on how to solve this?
    Kind regards
    Frederik

    Hi Radosla,
    Yep, thx for the hint.
    Looks like i put it on th test server in compatibility mode, but not on the real server.
    Changing this with F12 to IE 8 did the trick!
    Regards
    Frederik

  • Package doesnot exists????

    Hi all,
    My Jdev version is 11.1.2.3.0.
    The application was working very fine. later i created AppModuleImpl.java and added one method to AppModuleImpl.java.
    After adding one method in AppModuleImpl.java getting error after running page package doesnot exist and showing the below imports:
    import oracle.adf.model.BindingContext;
    import oracle.binding.BindingContainer;
    import oracle.binding.OperationBinding;
    import oracle.jbo.JboException;
    import oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl;
    import oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl;
    And in AppModuleImpl.java if i type import oracle. then its showing only * i.e. import oracle.* only exists.
    what should i do to import all the above imports???
    Any suggestions will be really useful.
    Thank you.

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for ur quick respose.
    ADF Model Runtime library is already added to both Model and ViewController projects.
    what else i am missing here?
    Thanks.

  • Error while running import package

    Hi,
    Transformation file was validated successfully. But after running import package i am having following error on MS-BPC-7.0.
    Invalid character in the given encoding. Line 1, position 1.
    When i try validate and process trans file i am having the following error message. But same data file and same trans file was working till couple of days ago. After that whatever changes i have made to file, i did revert them to have it working like beofre.
    Warning: Some records were rejected.
    Rejected records reference either calculated members or invalid members.
    Actually rejected record is only, one, but even other data was not loaded.
    Thanks in advance for sharing your ideas or similar experiences.
    Thanks,
    KK

    Hi,
    There is definitely some problem with one of the records there. Do you have header? What is the delimiter? Do you have the same delimiter in the transformation file? You need to take a look at all the possibilities.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem in importing package

    i am new to java and facing problems in importing package which are self made.
    secondly does JDK 1.1.3 can support swing

    Hi,
    I had some problems myself. I will add few lines, maybe it helps:
    OK, let's assume that you work in a directory. In this case, set classpath to this hierarchy as well as to "." ('this' hierarchy - like in DOS).
    Now, assume that you want to use packages MyPack1 and MyPack2. The source files of classes belonging to MyPack1 must:
    - start with command
    package MyPack1;
    - be located all in the directory MyPack1
    (and the same for MyPack2, of course)
    If you want to use MyPack1 within MyPack2, you have to include:
    import MyPack1.*;
    even though MyPack1 is, in fact, located on path: ../MyPack1/*
    (trust the classpath is important here)

  • Import packages without Maintenance license

    I have installed my test SAP Solution Manager 7.1 to my laptop to Virtulabox. I would try to import the support packages, but I miss maintenance license. Is there any possibility to import packages when I have only a temporary license?
    I want to just learn to work with transaction SPAM and try to import packages.

    Dear Miroslav,
    There are not any possibility to import packages when you have only a temporary license.
    YOu can learn to use SPAM/SAINT,if maintenance license will be present.

  • Import package with .* in jsp

    If i want to use HashMap in jsp page i need to have HashMap of util package in import statment in
    page directive.
    What is difference in Using
    a) <%@ page import="java.util.HashMap"%>
    b) <%@ page import="java.util.*"%>
    Is there any performance issue using importing package with .*

    Ofcourse there will be a performance issue. In the
    second case (<%@ page import="java.util.*"%>
    ) , you are loading all the classes in java.util
    package into your JSP, where as in the first case you
    are getting only HashMap. So the second option will
    affect the performance. Always import only the
    required classes.
    rgdsThen you have no idea how import works. The only difference at all would come at compile time. After the page is compiled, there would be no performance issue whatsoever.
    The main reason for doing one or the other way (same for any Java class) is clarity for those reading the code. Meaning if you use the full import, when they see "HashMap" in the code, they can look at the import statements and be sure that it's in java.util package. But generally, most people are going to be familiar with the classes in the common packages, like java.util. So I wouldn't generally list the specific classes if you are using more then one from the same package. There are other considerations where packages have classes of the same name (java.sql.Date & java.util.Date) but generally, I would always just put the full class name in the code.

  • Jsp import package error after upgrading to jdk1.4.2_08 and tomcat 5.0

    I am trying to upgrade the jdk and tomcat from 1.3/3.3 to 1.4/5.0.

    The package in the import statement "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.*" actually has no classes in it. The classes are contained in "import com.adware.print.database.inquire.controller.*". If I change the import statement everything works. The problem is that I have 100s of jsps. If there is a work-around outside of changing the import statements, that would be best.
    Can anyone help? Thanks.

    do you know what url is being looked up? the message is complaining that the url is starting with the string "an]", which seems pretty bogus.

  • Import Package - How to?  Basic Instructions

    Hey Experts -
    I'm trying to learn about the Import Package.  We're using BPC 7.0, Microsoft Version.
    Where can I go to get some detailed instructions on how this package works?  How do I create a Transformation File?  What is the .TDM file I see in the Examples Directory under AppShell?  Does this .TDM File need to be generated somehow or do I need to write one?
    Is there anywhere a person can get some detailed instructions on this functionality?

    Hi Sean,
    Basically, you can create Transformation file via the eData menu on the BPC for Excel interface (eData --> New Transformation File). You can then refer to the above HTG on how to indicate in the different OPTION, MAPPING and CONVERSION sections.
    Then, as you have probably noticed, a transformation file is a simple excel file, and when you save it, you can name it something like "transformation.xls". Then, when you validate it, it is creating the "transformation.tdm" file which will be executed when you launch the import package. But, in the transformation file field of the import package, you'll have to enter the "transformation.xls" file, which the will automatically refer to the TDM file during the import process.
    Hope it will help.
    Kind Regards,
    Patrick

    tHANKS

    javac -cp "myapplication.jar:." modelapp.java You compile on Linux and run on Windows or something? That is the Linux classpath, on Windows the list separator is ; If you do everything on Windows I'm a bit amazed it worked.
    set CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_32\bin;C:\Users\DELL\Downloads\myfolder;C:\Users\DELL\Downloads\myfolder\edu;You made a copy/paste mistake, the classpath contains the path.
    please help me in how can i solve this problem.Research what the classpath actually is. Google can easily provide you plenty of articles describing it.

  • Import package problems

    hi:
    if my program need to import package A which store in :
    C:\Documents and Settings\sharon\My Documents\project
    and my java file also store in the same folder, but i always got this error:
    C:\Documents and Settings\sharon\My Documents\project\test.java:36: package A does not exist
    import A;
    can anyone please tell me what happen? i m a newbie to java, pls help.

    Assuming you have the following: C:\project\A\Class1.class
    C:\project\A\Class5.class
    C:\project\test.javaand assuming all the Class1.java-Class5.java files start with package A; and assuming test.java starts with import A.Class1; And assuming javac.exe is in a directory that's on your path (NOT classpath), then if you do, in a DOS promptjavac -classpath . test.java
    or
    javac -classpath C:\project test.java it will work.
    You say you're using an IDE. Somewhere in that IDE's preferences/options will be a place to set the classpath. It must include . (a dot, meaning the current directory) OR the full path up to and including ...\project. (Dot may actually not work, since the IDE might not have the same notion of "current directory" as you would in a DOS prompt. There may also be a setting for "project root" or something. It really depends on the IDE.)
    Side note: Convention in Java is for package names to be all lowercase, and for class names to start with uppercase.

  • Error running import package: it removes the journals

    Hello experts,
    I have a problem when I run the import package using the "Replace&Clear "data option. Apart from clearing the INPUT data, it clears the journals. When the package ends running, the previous data is correctly cleared, the new data correctly introduced, but the journals that were posted before running the package are not posted any more. I would like to know where could I change this option so that it work's properly, not affecting journals.
    Thank you,
    Álvaro

    Journal are posted but the main problem is that you clear all the values for all category, entity, time (including values for data source journal).
    That's means into database were inserted records with oposite values for all configuration (category.ebtity, time from that import file).
    You have two solution:
    1. Use work status to avoid any DM packages run after Journal posted.
    2. Modify the Import packages to avoid clear of the values for Journal (see the clear package).

  • Auditing a Custom Import package

    We are having issues with BPC data auditing on a custom import package.  We are using the convert and dump load tasks just like in the standard import package.  The difference is that we have those surrounded by other SSIS tasks to perform other pieces of the import process.  The specific issue is that when we look at the detailed audit data, we are not seeing all of the records from our custom import.  We usually see that the import package took place, but we also usually see only a small fraction (if any) of the actual records that were posted (and which we can see in BPC) in the audit.
    My first question is, does the "Data Manager Import" option under the audit settings work with custom import packages using the convert and dump load tasks, or is it exclusive to the standard import package?  Secondly, if it does work with custom import packages, what might be some causes and/or resolutions to this issue?

    Just an update on the two issues that we are seeing...
    First, I have tested the standard Import and the Append into Fact Table packages, and both are audited correctly and completely.  This is important because our import package utilizes both of these styles of import.  One set of data is transactional, so it is loaded similar to the Append into Fact Table package.  The other set is a merge style import, so it is very similar to the standard import.  I see all records in the AuditDataFincance table in the Extra database for both of these packages.  This would lead me to believe that we are seeing some interference either between these two dump load tasks in the same package or some other SSIS package.  It is important to note that these dump load tasks are wrapped in foreach loops to pickup all files in a directory.  Looking at the package, my guess would be that either having two dump load tasks or having said tasks wrapped in a foreach loop would probably be the culprit.  My next step will be to strip the package down to test just these pieces.  Does anyone know if either of these would cause an issue with auditing?
    Secondly, I stated that we are not seeing the temp audit files in the STAGED or LOADED folders, which is making it more difficult to debug this issue.  After testing several packages, I noticed that the standard import and clear packages audit correctly, but they never create files in the STAGED or LOADED folders.  However, the Append into Fact Table package DOES create these files.  What I noticed in the AuditHdrFinance table in the Extra database was that the StagingCode values for these packages were different before they were loaded.  A value of 0 signifies that the package has already been loaded.  Append into Fact Table had a value of 1, which appears to signify that an audit file is waiting to be loaded in the STAGED directory.  The others had a value of 2, which I am guessing signifies that they are currently being staged in memory or some other location.  Does anyone have any information on what the different StagingCode values signify and why different packages have different codes?

  • Tomcat 3.2.3 web.xml doesnot work in Tomcat 4.0

    I have put a web.xml for my web app in wEB-INF directory. It works in Tomcat 3.2.3 but doesnot work in Tomcat 4.0. Tomcat is showing some ParsingException.
    Is this true & anyone of u r facing the same problem?
    Thanks in Advance
    [email protected]

    Hi
    If you see the Specification the order in which the tags appear is important. In Tomcat 3.2.3 the order is not stressed upon but in Tomcat 4.0 any discrepancy in the order of Tags is immediately noted. See specification for the order of Tags and change the web.xml . Your application should work fine then.
    Keep me posted on your progress.
