Import RFCs from 3.1i system - Required authorisations

Hi,
I am trying to import some RFCs from a 3.1i system
However, I am getting the following error in XI when I try this :
Logon failed: You are not authorized to logon to the target system.
Can anyone tell me a list of all the authorisations required bearing in mind this is a 3.1i system so the XI roles will not exist as standard.
Cheers
Colin.

hi Colin,
the user which will be used to import the metadata
needs to have:
auth to these groups :
As of 3.1H
RFC1, SG00, SRFC, SUNI, SYST
from:
Authorizations to Read Metadata on
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/25/76cd3bae738826e10000000a11402f/content.htm
XI roles have nothing to do with that
as you're using user in the r3 system and not the XI
Regards,
michal

  • Importing RFC from R/3 3.1i PI 7.0

    Hi,
The scenario is picking a file from third party FTP sever and posting an Idoc into SAP R/3 3.1i using PI 7.0. In between we call an RFC from R/3 3.1i from PI 7.0 for converting values. The problem here is, where we tried to import RFC from R/3 3.1i into PI 7.0, its is not allowing to import. It says unauthorized access, even though i had permissions to do that.
1:) Is this a compatible issue?
2:) Can we import RFC from 3.1i into Pi 7.0? Then why i am not able to?
3:) Is there any other way to use that function module in mapping?

    Hello
1:) Is this a compatible issue?
    - yes
2:) Can we import RFC from 3.1i into Pi 7.0? Then why i am not able to?
    - No, this is not supported. The import of RFCs and IDocs is supported from SAP Release 4.0 and higher.
3:) Is there any other way to use that function module in mapping?
    - If the RFC is not too complex, just created the objects in the ESR. Or import from a system which is > 4.0.
Check the KBA #1535964 How to import an IDoc/RFC into the ESR, for further details.

  • SWCV still contains IDocs/RFCs from an SAP system

    Hi
I have imported Idoc to a SWCV. Now am trying to create one more namespace under it. When I try to create another namespace, it automatically selects the check button Import of Idoc and RFC interfaces from SAP systems permitted. If I select not permitted and try to create namespace it gives me this message
Unable to save object XYZ , 1.0 of ABC
Indicator cannot be undone since the software component version still contains IDocs/RFCs from an SAP system
    Delete the objects first.
Is it possible for me to create another namespace under a SWCV, to which I have already imported Idoc, by selecting the option " Not permitted ". I want to create another namespace and I don't want to select that option as I have already imported Idoc

    Hi,
You no need to touch that check box, you can still create the namespace under software component.
Just double click lick on software component, goto edit mode and click on + symbol to insert namespace and save then activate.
Note:- As you have already imported the RFC and IDoc under your software component(not namspace as you mentioned), you keep that check box import of RFC and IDocs permitted. Dont try to uncheck that.

  • Call a remote RFC from one sap system to to other sap system

    Hi experts,
I'd like to know how to connect two sap systems via RFC. The two systems are in the same network and I'd like to know how to set up the SM59 in order to create the destination to the RFC.
Any help in configuring the SM59 to stablish the communication?
    thanks a lot.

    <b>You can do that from t-code SM59 or SALE</b>
This step is to create the Logical system for the remote system.
A logical system allows SAP internal functions to interface with external systems, either an SAP system or a non-SAP system. We also need to have a logical system name for the SAP system,.
    SALE is the transaction.
Expand the Sending and receiving Systems and then the Logical systems click on define logical system.
You will receive the informational message, “The table is cross-client.” Click the green check icon to continue.
Now click on the New Entries.
The Screen appears like this here you will be giving the LS name and the description of that.
After u click on the save button a window will be displayed like the bellow asking for the Request ID. Here we can create our own  or we can use the existing one.
After that we see the message blow as DATA SAVED.
Now the step is to Link the LS to the client.
Click on the Assign Client to LS .
The Screen as below will be appearing.
Double click on the client on which u r going to work and there specify the SAP LS(IDS47800) and you also need to specify the City and Std Currency and the client role as Test for the drop down box.
Register the RFC server module with the
    SAP gateway
The RFC (Remote Function Call) destination is a logical name used to define the
Characteristics of a communication link to a remote system (in our case, LS for the remote system) on which a function needs to be executed. In ALE, the RFC specifies information required to log on to the remote SAP system to which an IDoc is being sent.
To register the RFC Sever Module as the RFC destination:
SAP transaction code: SM59 – Type /nsm59 on the SAP input window and press the
    Enter key.
    Expand the TCP/IP connections directory.
Give some name to the RFC Destination (ALESERVER), Connection type as T. and fill the Description field.
In technical settings give the program name as you desired.
    Click on save

  • Integrate GRC 10.1 with CUA and how to import roles from CUA & Child systems into GRC for provisioning

    Hello,
I am trying to integrate CUA into our GRC 10.1 system through the below steps and so far I have completed the below steps following SAP Notes 1680108 and 1616121:
    1. Connected CUABOX to GRCBOX like a plug-in system.
    2. Updated CUA Global System and CUA Model Distribution in Maintain CUA settings under User Provisioning.
    3. Next I am trying to import the roles from CUA(CUABOX) into GRC(GRCBOX) to be able to provision roles in CUA Child Systems(ECCBOX).
After reading few discussions in SCN, I have figured that we have to download a template in Role Import and populate it accordingly to upload the CUA child system roles into GRC system for provisioning in CUA Child Systems.
Unfortunately, this template has multiple fields and I am unable to determine the fields that should be populated as CUA Global System and CUA Child System to import into GRC. Also, when we upload CUA Child System Roles template what selections should be made in Role Import window.
Any help in this regard is very helpful.
    Thank you,
    Pawan

    Hi Alessandro,
I have "Create user if does not exist" setting checked for both change action and assign role action and also have CUA enabled. Here is the list of steps that I am performing:
    1. Create an access request for new account, T-CUA_CHILD and select a role from a child system ECC Z_ECC_ROLE_IN_CHILD_SYSTEM.
    2. Approvals provided to assign the ECC role.
    3. I see the following in GRFNMW_DBGMONITOR_WD.
Auto provisioning activity at end of request at Path GRAC_DEFAULT_PATH and Stage              GRAC_SECURITY
New User:T-CUA_CHILD created in System(s): ECC (created without role assignments)
T-CUA_CHILD User does not exist in target system CUA
GRC created an account without role assignment in ECC but also throwed me an error that the user does not exist in CUA.
However, if I select roles from both CUA and ECC it creates the account in both systems with the selected role assignments.
So I am wondering if there is way to provide CUA access to users by default for new account requests types. I have tried setting up default roles for CUA but it does not assign the roles by default until I select the CUA system.
    Thank you for your help!

  • Sender RFC from Third Party System

I have a vendor who is actually communicating through RFC from third party Application to SAP R/3. Now we are trying have XI in between. Where as with minimal impact on both sides.
    Solution.
    1. Have the RFC made as ZRFC in XI. Let the vendor call the RFC in XI ABAP and internally make an RFC call through XI Interface to R/3 as Sync Interface. Because we need to report the information back to the system where the request initiated.
    2. Have RFC INI file copied as SAP Suggests under one of the folders. Develop the regular RFC to RFC Interface via XI.
Is there any other alternatives other than the above mentioned solutions? Or out of those 2, which one will provide the best performance
    Appreciate any feedback. Please advice

That's exactly what we are trying to achieve here. By Eliminating direct connection R/3, we are placing XI in between. But with the budget/timeline constraints from the Partner side, we are trying to have minimal change on the partner side. They might not change something to web service etc...
Here is the text about INI file
You can configure the non-SAP RFC client to connect to the sender communication channel in the following ways:
    ■       By defining the parameters PROGID, gateway-host, and gateway-service within the saprfc.ini-file using RFC-SDK.
    ■       By using appropriate parameters in the function RfcOpenEx.
If you use the saprfc.ini-file, the respective RFC destination has to be of type R.
All the parameter values used within the saprfc.ini-file or with the function RfcOpenEx should match the entries maintained within the corresponding sender communication channel.
Example for the saprfc.ini-file is as follows:
    DEST=RFCCLIENTEXT
    TYPE=R
    PROGID=P106646.HKExternalClient
    GWHOST=pwdf2153
    GWSERV=sapgw40
Please check the following link, for the same  text on RFC Sender

Using the same Sender RFC for non-SAP System, please share any ideas

  • ICR - Importing Data from Other SAP Systems for Reconcilaition

    Dear Ralph and Other Experts,
At my current engagement we need to import data from a subsidiary separate SAP system for reconciliation. There are scenarios where one side of an Interco document is posted in the corporate system and the other half is posted in the subsidiary's system. The posts from the subsidiary are totaled by comp code account and trading part and then posted in the corporate system.
This will make it challenging to run automatic rule assignments because scenarios will arise where one document in the subsidiary needs to be matched to many documents in the corporate system.
I did some searching on changing the DataSource   in FBIC008 for certain company codes to file upload or external but cannot find documentation on how to complete the configuration or how this functionality it works. Has anyone used this functionality? Could somebody please explain or link me to a document about using this external or file upload functionality in the ICR system.
    Best,
    John S

    Hi Frank,
Below are my thoughts, these are only conceptual and haven't had an opportunity to try these possibilities, also not sure if this is the right thing.
    1) Create an entry in DBCON using TCode: DBCO for the Database of system SAP2. Now in the application of SAP1 use the "SET CONNECTION" construct as the very first statement, so that consecutive SQL statements will point at the DB of SAP2.
    2) I have read somewhere that the Work Processes are connected to the Default database and i am not sure if you can change this setting, but if you can and provided you have have multiple application servers in your SAP1 landscape, then pick one of the application servers and change the settings on the WP to point at the DB of SAP2, you have the end users login to this particualr app server.
    3) If there are multiple app servers in SAP1 landscape, then choose one of the app servers and change the default database setting to point at DB of SAP2.

  • Callig RFC from Non SAP System

    Hi,
I would like to know how can I call a RFC enabled Function Module from a non SAP system, I know of Webservices, SAP API, SAP jco etc but to download all this connectors (SAP jco Sap .net etc) you require SAP service ID logon, i do not have it, with reference to Web services i cannot use it since the client is not interested ...
    1) in short i do not have SAP service user id ... what are the other options for calling  SAP RFC using an application say java even if i can use any middleware to connect the java apllication and sap rfc it is fine.
    2) The SAP services is 4.7 and they do not use EP, Netweaver Developent Studio etc ... simple plain SAP System ... also what setting has to be done at the server side ...

  • Import Payroll from Third-Part System

    Hello,
We're trying to implement a standard payroll import from a third-part system (through transaction PU12_IDOC_CREATE\PROCESS).
We're trying to find out the required file format for importing it as an iDOC to the system.
We're aware of the possibility to generate an example using report RPUOUTIDOC, but this report requires existing data in the payroll tables (T558E, T558B, T558D - listed in Bapi BAPI_EXTPAYROLL_INSERT_OUT documentation).
This is quite a problem because in order to fill the initial data in those tables, an IDOC import is needed.
Is there another possibility to somehow insert data into those tables or maybe generate a file example without existing data?
    Thanks in advance,
