Importing an application in apex 4.0.1.00.03 fails

I recently upgraded my apex from 3.2 to 4.0.1.00.03
I exported an application from 4.0.1.00.03 and now trying to Import the same export file in apex 4.0.1.00.03.
But the import fails with error:
The requested URL /pls/apex_dev/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server.
The error log file on the app server has the following information.
"POST /pls/apex_dev/wwv_flow.accept HTTP/1.1" 404 234
I did not have any problems importing before upgrading to apex 4.
Here is the DAD

In SQL-Developer connect to your Apex's schema and open the schema browser (you should see it on the sidebar with options : tables, views, indexes etc..). Within that you can see "Application Express" (its further down after the usual DB object groups), expand that and you should see your applications.
Right click on the Application Name and choose export DDL -> Save to file.

  • Export Application from apex 4.0 to 4.1

    Hi guys,
I exported an application created on apex 4.0 And oracle 11g express beta. Then imported the application into APEX 4.1 ( in the could ).
The problem is whenever I click on the "Edit Links" I get kicked out from the work space and I have to log in again.
** "Edit Links" are working in other applications ...
I hope my question is clear ..
Do you have any Hint ???

NOT really possible to go backwards from 4.x to 3.s. Your best option is to try and find a backup and try and install it and make required changes to meet current version. Why, may I ask is your production environment in 4.x and your development in 3.2? This sounds TOTALLY dainbramaged to me, since I would NOT want to work in such a mixed environment.

  • How to Import 3.0 application in APEX 3.2?

How to Import 3.0 application in APEX 3.2? These two are on two different machines. It is not upgrade.
    Pls help.

    Hello,
APEX supports backward compatibility. It means that 3.2 version can run any application that was developed in earlier versions.
In your case, just export the full application from 3.0 and import it in the 3.2

  • Import an application developed in apex 4.2 to apex 4.1

I imported my application that i've been developing in 4.1 into 4.2 apex.oracle. I didn't realize it's only forward compatible so when I tried to import back to 4.1, i wasn't able to.
Is there any way I can import the app back to apex 4.1?
    help is greatly appreciately.
    jadu

No.. Once you import an application into HIGHER version of APEX, it is modified to that version.. This is a suggestion, but I would advise having some sort of version control in this case, so you can go back to a prior version easily...

  • Getting error while importing the application in Oracle Apex

    Hi,
I am facing an issue while importing an application into my new Oracle Apex installation. Installation was successful with out any issue. I exported an application from my old Apex (version 3.0.0.00.20) and importing the same into new apex (version 3.0.1.00.08). I am getting the following error.
    ============================================================
The requested URL /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server.
    ============================================================
When I click on import in Application Builder page and then browse the required file it gives the progress saying "Importing File" and after some time it displays the above error.
I tried bouncing the application also and there is not error in alert log.
Could any one please suggest, if there is some problem here. Or my approach is not correct.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

Osacar, I recommend that you try to import the application into your workspace on apex.oracle.com and see what happens. Also, refine the problem statement as much as you can, e.g., you get this error importing "the application" or when importing "any" application. How big is the file you're trying to import? Where did it come from? Can you upload images?

  • Migrate/Import/[etc.] PL/SQL Web-Toolkit Application to APEX

    Hello all,
I've only recently learned about APEX and have dabbled with it for a little while, and I'm quite impressed with how amazingly quick it is to develop applications with it.
A few co-workers and myself are trying to convince "The Management" that we should pursue using APEX to develop our Enterprise Applications. Currently we write our web apps using the PL/SQL WebToolkit, accessing our applications at URL's like: http://host/dad/[package.]procedure .
Recently (within the past month) there was a convention in the Southern California region where I believe some people from TUSC presented on APEX. As I understand it, they said it was possible to migrate existing applications (written in packages and procedures) to APEX. I'm also told that it is possible to view the PL/SQL that is rendered by APEX to display the application.
We've practically sold our Director, however he has a few outstanding issues he's asked me to research, as he feels his boss would be most concerned with:
    * How much effort will it take to migrate/import/etc the PL/SQL WebToolkit Application to APEX
    * Should the need arise, how much effort would it take to move from APEX back to PL/SQL WebToolkit
I've tried researching these topics over the past few days and I haven't really come up with much. I realize that you can call PL/SQL packages/procedures/etc from within a region, but as I read on a thread in these forums ( How to jump from mod_plsql to APEX! ), you still won't be able to take advantage of the Items, Computations, Processes, etc. Is there, in fact, a way of importing a PL/SQL-developed Web Application into APEX to take advantage of all its tools? I would imagine it would be quite a feat to be able to create the items for the form fields, maintain the layout and such, but I need to provide my Director with as much information on these topics as possible.
Many of us developers are really excited at the prospect of developing with this tool; it would be a shame to lose the opportunity over not being able to provide any information on the topics above.
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
    -Luis

    Hi Luis,
I had a client a couple of years back who had an existing PL/SQL Web Toolkit application who used the htp.p etc calls to generate the HTML (and in some cases CSS) for their site. They were interested in using Application Express and asked me to design a new administration module for their site (which I did). The development went extremely smoothly so they then asked about re-writing their existing site in APEX (since maintaining the old site was not a straight-forward task).
Fortunately for me, the original designer had the foresight to put lots of the application logic into packages (which I could reuse), but I quickly (about 2 or 3 days from memory) created a custom theme and templates in APEX which gave the same look and feel as the existing site.
Personally, I think if you tried to re-use the existing htp.p calls (by using PL/SQL regions etc), then you would be missing out on some of the major advantages of using APEX (such as the ability to easily change the look and feel of your application).
I always think that migrating to a new tool/platform etc is a great opportunity to re-examine your existing code to perhaps see if you can do things differently (speed up those queries, perhaps make the navigation more logical etc).
So, yes you can certainly re-use lots of your existing packaged logic, but I would also take the leap and use the features that Application Express provides to make future maintenance of your application easier.
    Just my thoughts.
    John.

  • Application import problems with current apex on 11.1.0.7 and 11.1.0.6

    Hello,
i have Application Express 3.2.1.00.10 up and running so far.
    11.1.0.7 patch is applied.
I can't import an recently exported application with apex.
error: The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server.
If i try to copy the application i got:
ORA-01536: Speicherplatz-Zuteilung für Tablespace 'SYSAUX' überschritten
    Unable to copy application 123.
Certainly there is no trouble with sysaux tablespace.
Importing an export file with sqlplus works.
    - How to modify the export file to generate a new application?
    - Is it possible without running in any primary key violation?
    Thank you
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
one of your error describes that the SYSAUX tablespace can not allocate more memory. You need to extend one sysaux datafile:
Example extend sysaux datafile to 2GB:
    ALTER DATABASE
         DATAFILE '/data/xe/oradata/sysaux.dbf' RESIZE 2048000K;

  • Page Not Found error trying to import a large application into ApEx XE DB

I have an ApEx application that I'm trying to import from a Standard DB into Express Edition. I have 2 separate installs of ApEx both on XE and I'm getting the same problem on both.
    PROBLEM:
After I import the application I get the error: PAGE NOT FOUND standard error.
The import file is 4.8 Mbytes. When I view the import repository it shows increments of the file being loaded.
for e.g. First time 3 MBytes are loaded before the error is shown
Second time 3.2MBytes are loaded then it falls over again.
    any suggestions?
Smaller sized apps load up with no problems.
If it weren't for the sad state of the internal XE web server I could at least have a look at the HTTP logs. But alas someone in their wisdom had the bright idea to hide the webserver away in the bowels of the XE database.
thanks in advance for any help
    Paul P

    Paul,
You can try the suggestion in this thread on the XE forum:
Re: Problem with importing HTML DB applications
It also shows how to turn on logging in the XE web server.

  • Error Log in APEX 4.0.0.2 for Importing of Applications

I am trying to find the error log that will show me errors that happen when trying to import an application. I have seen some errors in the past but think we fixed those. Our change management team thinks they are back but didn't do a screen shot. Isn't there a log for this someplace in APEX?

Check this thread Import unsuccessful in Apex 4
The reason could be because of an invalid target reference in the Dynamic action mentioned in the error message( in the API call at that line number ,use the p_name,p_page_id parameters to identify the Dynamic Action involved)

  • Error trying to import application and apex objects

    Hi friends:
I was using the Oracle Apex Demo Site to evaluated Oracle application Server.
I was amazed with its functionality, so I decide to download and installed on my server.
I want to continue evaluating the Apex functionallity and for that, I want to export tha application and objects I setuo on Oracle's Apex Site.
    I did with no problem.
After installed the Apex on my server, I inport the workspace.
But now I want to import the apex objects and the application 8mostly pages) my apex admin page give me an unrecognized errors for me.
    1. If I try to import the objects (tables, preocedures, etc. and data) it sends me the error: unreconized lines on the file, please remove the lines.
    2. If I try to import the application objects (pages, etc.) it sends me the folloeing error: the file you are trying to import is not a valid apllication express export file.
It is kind of courious because I just exported from Oracle Apex Site.

The other issue I forgot to mentioned is: when I install a new database to use it just with Apex, I leave the character set as WE8MSWIN1252.
I change my apex dads file to setup the AL32UTF8.
I don't know if these is the problem between the exported file from Oracles Apex Site (which has a UTF-8 character set setuup) and my apex installation with Apex character set as AL32UTF8 and Oracle 9i Release 2 with WE8MSWIN1252 character set settup.

  • How to import 3.2 application into APEX 4.1

    Hi,
I would like to import an APEX 3.2 application into APEX 4.0. Is this supposed to work?
    Regards,
    Tamas

Apex is built to make this process as smooth as possible.
In 4.x, there is a Utilities section for your application with an Upgrade Application option that provides a summary of all the components that can be "upgraded"
Apex tries to leave your application alone as much as possible, and in this report you'll see things like Date Picker items that can be automatically upgraded to the jQuery version. You can choose which components to automatically process.
The most trouble you'll have is if you have included any external libraries such as jQuery and there may be syntax differences, now that Apex 4.x includes jQuery components.
Dimitri Gielis has quite a few posts on the subject

  • Help deleting an application in Apex 3.2.1.00.12 on 10g XE

    Hi,
I imported an application (timesheets demo application) by running the install script in an SQLPLUS session which I understand now was not the proper way to do this.
Now I need to delete this application but I'm receiving the following error when trying to delete the application in APEX:
ORA-20000: User ADMIN has no privileges on the EBA schema.
What do I need to do in order to delete this application?
    Thank you.

    Hi Francois,
You could try to login in SQLPLUS the way you did when you imported the application and then run the following code.
    BEGIN
        APEX_INSTANCE_ADMIN.REMOVE_APPLICATION(xxx);
END;Where xxx is the Application ID.
