Importing configuration USING JDI

Hi All,
Here is the problem which I am facing. I logged in to JDI and its sucessful. After that in DC perspective.. in Inactive DC window, when I tried to right click, but in this case it not opening a context menu.
then in Local Dc window, I tried to right click and click on import configuration and select remote, it gives me the following error.
No configurations on server or server error. But, I am able to do it with my co-worker user id
did anyone get this before. I have fours track. also i have created 4 client in DTR view. Is there anything else..i need to do?

> Is this client creation mandatory in JDI. I worked on
> NWDI before. there was no such client creation. SO,
> just kinda confusing.
No, it's not.
The only time you need to deliberately create a client is when you want to alter permissions .  If you just want to browse the repository, select the checked-out track, and switch to the DTR perspective.
In my experience, if you try to alter permissions with the clients created by checking out the dev configs, you may get all sorts of errors.  It was very frustrating until I re-read the docs and did what the indicated - create a dtr client that starts at the root.

  • Unable to import DCs using JDI.Developer (SP13)

    I am running SP13.  Per the documentation I assigned the appropriate objects to JDI.Developer.  When I rey to import DCs I gat an HTTP 403 error message.  To get areound it I have had to assign the JDI.Administrator.  Anyone what is absolutely need for the JDI.Developer role to work.
    Thanks Steve Lambermont

    Hi Steve,
    For the JDI.Developer role we just require CMS.Display, CBS.Developer CMS.Export as well as the SLD roles LcrInstanceWriterNR.
    I see that you have already assigned all these roles.
    You can also do one thing that one you assign the role you can try logging in to SLD using this ID. You should be able to successfully login.
    Also you can check whether proper SLD role has been assigned to the role/group in Visual Admin. The way do it is given in NWDI Installation guide under section 2.2.
    Hope this helps.

  • If I use airport utility to erase my time capsule will all my settings be lost? Does "import configuration" work well?

    If I use airport utility to erase my time capsule will all my settings be lost? Does "import configuration" work well?

    Erasing the Time Capsule's internal HDD, via the AirPort Utility, will NOT affect the TC's configuration settings. However, if your intent is to completely remove these settings as well, you will want to perform a "factory default" reset on the TC to do so.
    If you first export the configuration, you can always import it back in after the reset to get you back up and running quickly.

  • How to use JDI with Web Dynpro

    Can any one help me with detailed steps on how to put my Webdynpro development components into JDI?
    We are already done with the development work. Now we have JDI installed and want to source safe the project in JDI.
    So, my requirement is only to put them in JDI, to be able to check-in and check-out any future changes and use the JDI to deploy the applications into QA and production systems . No team development or anything.
    For this case, which of the 3 tutorials ( Team oriented development, Development with track, Development with layers) given in help.sap.com will be ideal?
    Please help.

    Hi Aditya,
    Step for creating Webdynpro:
    1. Open Development Configuration Perspective in NWDS. In the “Local DCs” view, right-click on “Local Development” and choose “Import
    Configuration…”
    2. Login remote with your username and password. It will create development infrastructure in Inactive DCs. There you can create the component like webdynpro, Java, J2EE, Enterprise Portal, etc.
    3. Creating Webdynpro in the DTR perspective.
    Step 1: Right click on Inactive DCs -> Create new DC.
    1. By default vendor name is SAP. You can change vendor name according to your requirements.
    2. create a new Web Dynpro DC with desired name.
    Name should not exceed eight characters (Recommended)
    create a new Web Dynpro DC with desired name.
    3. Select the language
    4. Select the domain
    5. Select the component type
    3. Copy the file structure from your existing local project to DC.. These will be under an activity..
    Step 2:
      1. Build and Deploy and test your new DC.If it works fine then in DC perspective..Right click on src folder->add subtree ->create activity.

  • Configuring use of clinet certificates for jax web services  configuring u

    Hello dear people,
    I have a very simple jax web service under glassfish v.2.1 and I want to secure it using mutual authentication. I could configure using server certificates but I have problems with configuring the server to ask client certificates. The problem is that the clients are not asked to provide a valid client certificate to use the service. The clients can easily use the service without having a certificate.
    Can anyone tell me what should I do to have this?
    I got the example code from http://java.net/projects/javaeetutorial/downloads and the sample code that I used is in the folder : javaeetutorial5/examples/jaxws/helloservice-clientcert
    Best regards,
    Arash.

    Did you resolve your issue?
    I´m posting some comments that maybe can help newer administrators facing similar doubts.
    I´m using NW PI 7.1 EHP1 also and some interfaces were developed for using an external site providing web services through SSL (HTTPS) connection.
    As in browser navigation, secure sites protected with SSL has a certificate emited by a international CA. We didn´t perceive the "handshake" in the most of cases because normally the web browser has a group of trusted CAs loaded on its certificate store.
    With SAP PI and its WAS Java a similar procedure occurs with a small difference. The WAS Java didn´t have the trusted CAs loaded on KeyStorage. So, when the adapter tries to establishing a connection with an HTTPS site (it is a background process)  a "handshake" is required to accepting the certificate and produces a error.
    We completes the handshake importing the entire certificate chain (you can upload the site´s certificate to your browser and export it as file) on Keytore under the Trusted CAs view.
    Hope this can help someone. It´s an "easy" part of SSL communication.
    Now I´m trying to configure the inverse: Some third party consuming the PI web services using SSL. I have an additional component on inbound/ incoming connections that is the SAP Web Dispatcher.
    The Help.sap.com is the reference but as always its a little difficult to find the (sequential) path following the links (go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, go back, go back, go ahead)...

    This Kind of problem occur when we don't configure properly on names server in the page of SLD.
    Steps: Go to  http://localhost:port/sld
    Define Namespace prefixes:
    On the start page of SLD choose Name Reservation
    Choose Define Namespace Prefix
    Define following prefix:
    Name Category = Development Component Name
    Namespace Prefix = example.org/tech(User dependent)
    Purpose = Used By Developer (default)
    Owner = <user currently logged in>
    Description = can be empty
    Choose button create.
    After this Go to devinf page http://<local host>:port/devinf after that click on ChangeManagement Service
    here click on Landscape configurator.
    After that, click on the domain data.
    Now going to click on the update CMS
    Before using NWDI then use "delete crab" for deleting previous existing workspace.
    May be I think resolve ours problem.

  • How to find the configuration use the Z message class.

    Usually when I do some configuration, it may need to create some message. such as the Validation.
    It raise a message when I run some standard t-code. So when I check some Z message class to find what program use this message, i can not find anything. So I assume there might two situation:
    1、we can not trace it dome when the program didn't write like this way:    MESSAGE E003(ZFI).
    2、this message might be used in some configuration,not in program.
    so how do we find the configuration use this message? or Is there any way can trace all message ?
    Thank you so much for your sincere answer.

    Hi,
    Case 1:  Message is defined correctly with message number & message class.
         Example - Message E003(ZFI).
      Easy to locate the message using whereused list.
    Case 2 :
    There are some FM's like BALW_BAPIRETURN_GET where we pass the message details.
    For example :
    call function 'BALW_BAPIRETURN_GET'
            exporting
                 type       = p_message-msgty
                 cl         = p_message-msgid
                 number     = p_message-msgno
                 par1       = p_message-msgv1
                 par2       = p_message-msgv2
                 par3       = p_message-msgv3
                 par4       = p_message-msgv4
    *          LOG_NO     = ' '
    *          LOG_MSG_NO = ' '
            importing
                 bapireturn = p_return
            exceptions
                 others     = 1.
    In these case, we won't be able to track the message number from where used list.  So, what we do is before calling these FM we use the below statement,
      IF 1 = 2. message e003(zfi). ENDIF.
        so that message can be tracked using where used list.
    Case 3: Some messages can be configured in message control.( Table T100S ) . For those
      messages we search for table T100S in the program.
    Regards,
    DPM

  • Customizing SHRJAV / CRMJAV using JDI 2004s

    We use JDI 2004s sp7 and dev. worplace 2004s sp7.
    After much trouble we are now able to customize (in workplace) the
    shrweb, crmweb and custcrmprj components using the JDI, as described (somewhat) in the ISA extension guide.
    Now there are rare cases where we do need to modify the SAP java code itself (SHRJAV and CRMJAV components).
    I tried adding those to the "Software Components for Development" list in the JDI track.
    After adding them there when opening the track in worplace, i can see shrjav and crmjav in the "inactive DC's" view, however they are empty and no DC's show inside. (I can see in the CBS that many things did not build correctly when importing with those two components in the "software componenets for development" instaed of being just "requred components"
    What is the proper way to add the sap java code to the JDI, so that it can be modified.
    We do know how to extend it as explained in the ISA
    guide, but here we want to be able to modify it directly when needed (and that does not seem to be covered in any doc i know of).
    Also not having the java code available in the workplace makes debugging difficult as well.
    Thank you.

    am new to SAP DC Concept.
    We use NWDI 2004s SP9, NWDS and have local J2EE Engine installed.
    So far we can connect to NWDI from NWDS and can see the sap.com_SAP-SHRWEB_1 DC and many subfolders start with crm/isa/web/ (crm/isa/web/b2c, crm/isa/web/b2b for e.g) in the Inactive view.
    Can you please help me with the detail steps after this in order to do some customization and generate either war/ear project to test locally?
    Should I create each projects from sap.com_SAP-SHRWEB_1->crm/isa/web/b2c or create new DC from sap.com_SAP-SHRWEB_1?
    Thank in advance for all your help!!!

  • Updating an ALSB configuration using WLST

    I've been using the AquaLogic Service Bus Deployment API (http://e-docs.bea.com/alsb/docs21/deploy/config_appx.html) to export and import an ALSB configuration from my development environment to the test environment. When the system is going to production I want the WLST-scripts to be a part of the installation scripts.
    It looks like the import features of ALSB is designed to append and overwrite the imported configuration. Configuration elements that does not exist in the imported configuration will not be deleted from the target configuration. This will, over time, cause the production environment to end up as an enormous garbage can if nobody goes in and cleans it from time to time.
    We have as requirements that all installation must be done automatically (untouched by humans), so my question is:
    <li>How can I ensure consistency between the configuration I deliver and the production environment?
    </li>
    The most obvious place to look for such an opportunity should be in the import utility. But, as far as I can see, there is no <i>replace configuration</i> option available for the DeploymentMBean.
    BEA develops MBeans for the most of the service components. So it should also exist MBeans that can be used to programmatically configure ALSB without using the DeploymentMBean. So, my second question is:
    <li>Does anyone know of an ALSB MBean that is capable to remove a project from the configuration?</li>

    Hi Helge,
    There is indeed an mbean to delete projects, however this mbean and its api is not publicly supported. In other words the api may change or be removed (in favor of another one) in the next release. There are plans to expose a slight variation of this api in the next release. If you cannot wait until then you can use the non-public api with the caveat that it may change, and use it at your own risk. You may need to recompile or rewrite your source code.
    The non-public api is:
    ALSBConfigMBean.deleteProject(String projectName)
    obtaining and using ALSBConfigMBean is similar to the usage of the public ALSBConfigurationMBean. You can obtain the name and the type of this mbean using ALSBConfigMBean.NAME|TYPE.

    Hi Praveena,
    Do you want to purge configuration? if yes, then for purging entire configuration -
    1. run the setenv command file
    2. run command "java oracle.tip.repos.purge.PurgeManager purgeAll"
    For purging single configuration, try with providing the configuration name.
    For purging business and wire messages please follow -

    I believe my colleague Deepak mentioned the OSS note 997181 - if you check this in the service marketplace the note 997181 (search for SAP notes) There are 2 very useful pdf's attached which outline the major customizing points and steps for both standalone and integrated scenario.

    I have just used migration assistant to import photos (using an ethernet cable) from my PC. It has worked but they have gone into a new user on my MacPro. How can I merge them into the one user account.

    How many pictures (or how many bytes) are we talking?  Now that the pictures are imported one way to cross users is to use a removable drive (although large volumes of files preclude this).
    The other is to login as the user where the pictures are, then copy them into the public drop box of the user where you want the picture.
    The arrow is showing (in ths example) copy files from the Pictures folder for my user to the guest user accounts public dropbox.  When you do this you may have to authenticate and you won't be able to see the results of the copy until you log in as the other user.
    All users are in the folder "/Users/"

    Pls suggest

    Hi,
    It seems that adapter metadata has not been loaded into integration repository and because of that when you are trying to import configuration objects in ID then you are getting the error.
    The SAP adapter metadata objects are located under the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System of software component SAP BASIS.
    What you can do is, if you have installation dvd's then you can copy from their or you can simply [_DOWNLOAD_|https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=SEARCH&HIDE=&SEARCH_SPAT=X&SEARCH_BPAT=X&SEARCH_CD=X&SEARCH_P=X&SEARCH_PV=X&SEARCH_C=X&SEARCH_CV=X&SEARCH_TA=&SEARCH_V=&HIDE_EXPERT_SEARCH=X&SEARCH_MAX_RESULT=20 ] from sap market place (refer this [thread|how to import Adapter metadata;) (you must have S-user id for this) and then after you need to do as mentioned below...
    1. First unzip the file (if it is zipped) and then put it in the import directory: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\
