Importing existing test cases with multiple test steps into e-Manager

When I import my excel-based test cases into e-Manager Enterprise, each test step appears as a separate test case. How can I correct this problem?

Please try attached XLS. You need to blank out every column except for the test steps column for rows which are your test steps.

  • Is it possible to import the failure cases from another test plan in MTM ?

    Hi,
Is it possible to import the failure cases from another test plan? For example, I have created a new test plan with ID 1002. Now I want to import the failure cases from test plan with ID 1001.  Is there anyway to do this?
    Thanks,
    Leslu

    Hi Leslu,
As far as I know, there isn’t that feature in MTM, but we could achieve that by add test cases to the test suite.
As we know, the test case is associated to the test suite, remove the test case from the test suite won’t delete the test case, it just remove the relationship.
So, we could base on the test cases’ id to add the test cases to a test suite of another test plan.
    The condition is:
Work Item Type In Group Test Case Category
    ID In id1,id2 (e.g. 1,2,)

  • Move test case with referenced items to another project

How can I move a test case with all referenced contexts and verifications from a project to another project? At the moment I have to move each single item. How can I do this more efficient?

    Hi Markus,
You can Export/Import it in a Test Portable format.
    All contexts will be included.
    Kind regards,
    Ulyana.

  • Can I re-use a parameterized manual test case with different set of parameters in a different test plan?

Can I re-use a parameterized manual test case with different set of parameters in a different test plan without impacting the parameters in the first test plan?

    Hi ssteele_1,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Generally, I know that if you want to re-use a parameterized manual test case and without impacting the parameters in the first test plan.
I suggest you could try to right click this parameterized manual test case ->Select the Create copy and add to suite option like the following screen shot.
Then the parameterized manual test case can be re-used as a new test case in this MTM and it will did not impact the original parameterized manual test case.

  • Convert a scatter graph with multiple data series into individual graphs

I am trying to convert a scatter graph with multiple data series into individual graphs, with the series having the same formatting as in the graph when all series are together.
Normally, if I delete any series, the color scheme for all the other series vanishes. I can then waste more time in having to re-adjust the  color and shape of the series, but this is tedious. This, I do not want. Is there an automated way to do this?
Ideally, of course, all series would appear in little subsections in the space of the former one graph, all with individual axes, but I can't have all, so I'll settle with having several individual new graphs, each with just one series, and with the original
    formatting.
    Thx.

How about creating a copy of the chart, and then setting all series except one to be transparent (no line, no marker)? Repeat for each series.

  • Simple test case with NL and table order .

    Hi,
did some tests on my 9.2.0.8 and got few questions:
    SQL> select count(*)  from p;
      COUNT(*)
          2000
    SQL> select count(*)  from c;
      COUNT(*)
          1000
    SQL> select count(*) , id from p group by id having count(*) > 1;
    no rows selected
    SQL> select count(*) , id from c group by id having count(*) > 1;
      COUNT(*)         ID
           100         10
    SQL> desc p
               Name
        1      ID number
        2      FILLER varchar2(100)
    SQL> desc c
               Name
        1      ID number
        2      FILLER varchar2(100)
    Got 10046 traces:
    case A
    select /*+ use_nl(p) leading(c) */ *
    from
    p , c where p.id = c.id and c.id in (10)
    Rows     Row Source Operation
100  TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID P
        201   NESTED LOOPS
100    TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID C
100     INDEX RANGE SCAN C_ID (object id 411255)
100    INDEX RANGE SCAN P_ID (object id 411256)
    Case B optimal
    select /*+ use_nl(c) leading(p) */ *
    from
    p , c where p.id = c.id and c.id in (10)
    Rows     Row Source Operation
100  TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID C
        102   NESTED LOOPS
1    TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID P
1     INDEX RANGE SCAN P_ID (object id 411256)
100    INDEX RANGE SCAN C_ID (object id 411255)So its simple nested loop with postponed inner table access .
Why in row source operation we have got 102 rows (NL level) ? (It means NL was executed 102 times ?)
And why 201 in other case ?
    Regards
    GregG

I am not sure about the calculation/reason for those A-ROWS figures but the NL operation executes only once (but accesses inner rowsource 100 times in case one and once in second case) in both cases (which is as expected).
A closer test case (to OP) is

  • How to store test cases in multiple languages?

We need to provide test cases in German an English and I would like to avoid having two projects.
My idea is to use a template project which allows the translation of the process tree, and then have both test cases in one document (maybe using a word makro to jump to the needed language if that works).
Do you know a better way to manage test cases in different languages?

  • Have test cases but no test numbers

sorry if this sounds confusing because it is. I have a test report generated that says in general which test cases passed and which test cases failed. i.e.
    charging mode pass
    power up fail
I then have to transfer this data to another sheet in which the company needs for references but the numbering on the sheet the company has is different from the order of the test cases in my report i.e.
    power up fail
    charging mode pass
Now I can either go in and move all the test cases around so that they are in the same order as the company sheet, or is it possible to make another excel sheet that has all the test numbers and all the test names, then have labview go in and search for a specific test name and i
nsert the test number into a different cell on the main test report so that can be easily sorted and make data transfer easier? i.e.
    power up fail 1.1.3
    charging mode pass 1.2.3
now I can just sort by test number and have power up come first like it does in the company test report. Thanks for the help, and sorry for the confusing question, but even I don't really understand what I'm saying

    Hi,
You're right. This certainly is quite confusing.
Sounds like all you need to do write a test number along with the test result name. Since you know the format of the company's report, you should be able to send out constants in your code and use that column for sorting.
Write back if this option does not work for you.
    Good luck

  • Is Lightroom supported in a Active Directory domain environment with multiple users logging into a machine?

We are a school district using an Active Directory environment.  We currently use other Adobe products with multiple users on different machines and it works fine.  If Lightroom does work in a domain environment what are the required local user permissions needed for it tor work properly?  Thanks!

Lightroom is not a multiuser program. It is required that the catalog is located on a hard drive that is local to the machine accessing it. There are no workarounds.

  • Importing existing folders and sub folders of photos into photoshop organiser 9

I have over 10,000 photos nicely organised in folders and sub folders in Bridge CS3 and want to migrate over to photoshop elements and use their organiser so I have everything in one place. However, when I try to import the photos, it brings them in as individual photos and not in their folders. It seems like I need to recreate a load of albums and then drag and drop the photos into them. I don't have time to recreate hundreds of album names to replicate my system as it is. Is there any way round this or should I be looking at a different system altogether?
Thank you for any advice on this.

... should I be looking at a different system altogether?
If your entire organizational goals are to continue to use your "nicely organised" folders, then why bother with the PSE Organizer in the first place? You have extra work (must import the photos) and more limitations (must do all photo management inside of the PSE Organizer), and its hard to see any benefit from using the PSE Organizer. You won't achieve any "better organization" than what you have now.
If your goals are to use PSE tools to organize (tags, captions notes), in addition to (or as a replacement for) your folder organization, then the PSE Organizer can be very useful.

In this new window click on the Attributes tab. The following image presents how the Event Properties window looks like:

  • How to make a Abap Unit Test Suit with many test classes

    Hi,
    Problem space
we have different packages(embedded) in our project and each package corresponds to a differnt functional layer in the design.
We want to create abab unit test classes for these different layers.
say embedded package 1 has 10 unit test classses
embedded package 1 has 20 unit test classses
How to grup these classes together so that we can start them frm a test suite.
Code examples and blogs links will be appreciated.
    regards

This sounds a bit like Project Administration 101 to me.
I'm not exactly sure what you are actually trying to do here --but generally if you want to functionally test something you need to start with a business process -
You need to create scripts which tell the user the data to be entered, the transaction to be used and the outcome.
With SAP you might need to show screen shots of each stage as well.
You follow this for each complete business process until you've covered the whole business cycle.
You complete this say individually for Logistics, Purchasing and Finance and then compare what SAP gives you with what you expected to get.
For some type of testing CATTS can help but without the business processes any testing is essentially meaningless.
It is totally pointless trying to design a "generic" test plan until you've got the functional consultants to describe the business processes involved.

  • APEX Interactive Report Compute Case with multiple conditions to highlight

My ultimate is to highligt a row in an interactive report based on two conditions. I didn't see a way to use the highligt feature with two conditions. So I thought I would try to create a computation based on the two conditions. Then use that result for the highligting. Though I don't seem to be a be able to use multiple conditions in my computation Case statement. Is there a different syntax?
    Here is what I have:
    Case
      When  C = 'Open' and  I > 15 Then 'True'
      Else 'False'
End The error I get is: Invalid computation expression. and
    Application Express 4.0.2.00.07
    Thanks!

I'm surprised no one responded to this. What I did to resolve this issue was create a nested case statement. I don't think this was a good solution, but I can't find anyone else giving input. I know I can create another computational column in the select statement for the report, but the 'Interactive Report' part is where this should be. I want my clients to calculate what they want. Kind of hard when you can not use an 'and' for a range criteria.
