Importing large .m2v files problem

I am currently using cs3 version of encore and have come accross a problem when trying to import a large (3.1gb)m2v file that was created in PPcs3.
When I try to import, encore starts to try to import but them suddenly closes down completely. I can import smaller m2v files with out a problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
my system is Inte duo 2 quad processor QX6800, 4gb ram, GEforce 8800GTX graphics card and I'm using XP Pro operating system
Ian

I had similar problems with CS3. This is my research and solution (so far...)
When outputting MPG files for HD, if you dont do multiplexing in Premiere, it generates a M2V file and a WAV file. Encore basically crashed on every import of the m2v, (irrespective of importing as timeline or as asset) if it was larger than some value (experimentaly around 8GB).
Someone suggested that it had to do with the XMPSES files. So put the m2v and wav file in a separate directory and import from there (or delete the XMP and XMPSES file). I tried this and it does work, but the chapterpoint information is lost, so in the end I tried to avoid creating >7GB files for import in ENCCS3. However, later with another project, Encore did not even accept 4GB files.
In the end I found the solution to be to have Premiere generate a transport stream (i.e. a multiplexed file m2t in stead of two separate files for audio and video (wav and m2v)). Get a license for the AC3 encoder, switch on multiplexing and Encore happily imports the resulting files without any problem (until now)
Hope this helps

    Hi Patrick,
         I am addressing the similar issue. "Getting data from huge XMLs into Hana."
    Using Odata services can we handle huge data (i.e create schema/load into Hana) On-the-fly ?
    In my scenario,
    I get a folder of different complex XML files which are to be loaded into Hana database.
    Then I gotta transform & cleanse the data.
    Can I use oData services to transform and cleanse the data ?
    If so, how can I create oData services dynamically ?

  • Importing a m2v file, or a dvd into final cut

    What the best (less compression on video only) way to import a movie of a dvd in final cut pro 5.0.4 and 5.1 . Will fcp import a m2v file. If any other software in involved, let me know. What the settings in the timeline set? Would it matter if the dvd was widescreen or 4:3 in the setting for sequences? Thankyou for reading this and any responces will be helpful.. E.

    I am using the mpeg streamclip. for a 2 hour movie, and the export of hdv 60i, its taking over three hours and its at 60 percent. is that normal for the export setting? Also, i tried to rip the dvd staraight into the mpeg streamclip, but was having trouble. I had allready rip it in the m2v file and imported that into mpeg streamclip and it works. Is there a way i can skip that step and go directly in mpeg streamclip.

  • Import Large XML File to Table

    I have a large (819MB) XML file I'm trying to import into a table in the format:
    <ROW_SET>
    <ROW>
    <column_name>value</column_name>
    </ROW>
    <ROW>
    <column_name>value</column_name>
    </ROW>
    </ROW_SET>
    I've tried importing it with xmlsequence(...).extract(...) and ran into the number of nodes exceed maximum error.
    I've tried importing it with XMLTable(... passing XMLTYPE(bfilename('DIR_OBJ','large_819mb_file.xml'), nls_charset_id('UTF8'))) and I gave up after it ran for 15+ hours ( COLLECTION ITERATOR PICKLER FETCH issue ).
    I've tried importing it with:
    insCtx := DBMS_XMLStore.newContext('schemaname.tablename');
    DBMS_XMLStore.clearUpdateColumnList(insCtx);
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn(insCtx,'column1name');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn(insCtx,'columnNname');
    ROWS := DBMS_XMLStore.insertXML(insCtx, XMLTYPE(bfilename('DIR_OBJ','large_819mb_file.xml'), nls_charset_id('UTF8')));
    and ran into ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 1032 bytes (qmxlu subheap,qmemNextBuf:alloc).
    All I need to do is read the XML file and move the data into a matching table in a reasonable time. Once I have the data in the database, I no longer need the XML file.
    What would be the best way to import large XML files?
    Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    "CORE     11.2.0.1.0     Production"
    TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

    This (rough) approach should work for you.
    CREATE TABLE HOLDS_XML
            (xml_col XMLTYPE)
          XMLTYPE xml_col STORE AS SECUREFILE BINARY XML;
    INSERT INTO HOLDS_XML
    VALUES (xmltype(bfilename('DIR_OBJ','large_819mb_file.xml'), nls_charset_id('UTF8')))
    -- Should be using AL32UTF8 for DB character set with XML
    SELECT ...
      FROM HOLD_XML HX
           XMLTable(...
              PASSING HX.xml_col ...)How it differs from your approach.
    By using the HOLDS_XML table with SECUREFILE BINARY XML storage (which became the default in 11.2.0.2) we are providing a place for Oracle to store a parsed version of the XML. This allows the XML to be stored on disk instead of in memory. Oracle can then access the needed pieces of XML from disk by streaming them instead of holding the whole XML in memory and parsing it repeatedly to find the information needed. That is what COLLECTION ITERATOR PICKLER FETCH means. A lot of memory work. You can search on that term to learn more about it if needed.
    The XMTable approach then simply reads this XML from disk and should be able to parse the XML with no issue. You have the option of adding indexes to the XML, but since you are simply reading it all one time and tossing it, there is no advantage to indexes (most likely)

  • Problem import large avi-files into iMovie '11

    I have a large AVI-file, DV, from an old video camera that I want to import to iMove '11. The file is 10,37 GB but when I import it to iMovie only a few scenes is visible. Also, iMovie says the file is 4,71 GB.
    How do I import the whole file?
    Thanks
    /Torbjörn

    If you can convert the AVI movie back on the PC to Quicktime, this would be your best option.  AVI files are limited to 4GB in size.  To get around this limit, the AVI file might be referencing other smaller files on the PC.  The AVI file format has been pretty much abandoned by Microsoft which now uses the WMV format.

  • Can't Import large .avi file from digital camera into iPhoto 08

    I have a digital camera with a 4GB SD card. I was shooting video and have several small .avi files on the card and one large .avi file (2.67 GB) on the same card. I did not have a problem importing the small files. iPhoto hung while trying to import the large file. I read in this forum that I should use Image Capture, which I tried. When I used Image Capture on the smaller files (just to see how it worked), my camera would flash while it was transferring. When I tried Image Capture on the large file, the camera did not flash and after about 20 minutes, there didn't seem to be anything going on with the transfer. I also tried an old card reader through Image Capture, and that didn't work either. Should Image Capture be able to handle this size file? Do you know of any way to break up the large file into smaller files on the SD card? What am I missing? Thanks!

    Canon's cameras do not mount on the Desktop. It's a 'feature' of the brand.
    There are several possibilities for Image Capture - including minor directory damage on the card etc. The only solution is get the card to mount, and that means a recent Card Reader.

  • Canon IXUS 950 won't import large AVI files into iPhoto

    The new canon Ixus 950 IS wont import large (over 50mb) AVI files in iPhoto, why not?
    They sit on the SD card and then sometimes subsequent pics and video's don't upload.
    If there are say, 3 x 40mb files they dont upload either... After waiting ages the box pops up, unable to import.
    I can individually import the AVI files under 50mb
    I also note that the hard drive icon for the camera does not appear on the desktop or the finder so I could not 'drag' them in either...
    Any ideas?
    David

    I have a similar problem with importing large AVIs from my Canon A610. iPhoto would import everything else (usually) except the large AVIs, which it claims is unreadable. In this particular case (~470MB file), it plays in QuickTime, I've resaved it using QT (still won't import) and converted it from MJPEG to Cinepak (still won't import). I'm now considering cutting the AVI up into smaller chunks and importing those... but any other options before that?
    Misc computer details: Main HD is 120GB with 30 for Boot Camp, 80 remains for Mac OS X, but the iPhoto Library is on an external HD (also 120GB, same model as internal HD except not SATA) formatted to FAT32. Would 10.4.11 make a difference here?

  • Encore locks system during import of m2v files

    I have exported numerous m2v files from Adobe Premiere, and can not import them into Encore without a full system lock.  I am using PCs with Windows 7 Pro 64bit on a Desktop with 8GB RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on a Laptop with 4GB RAM.  I've had nothing but problems with CS4 since I cleanly installed my Desktop and purchased my Laptop.  This may not be an issue if I could export Microsoft Uncompressed or DV compressed AVI files to transcode, but Adobe Premiere will not export DV compressed with video, only audio, and will not export uncompressed at all!  On the desktop, I can export Matrox RTX2 DV compressed files, but it takes forever.  I have a system with Vista Pro 64bit at work, and none of these problems are there.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the whole suite (plus removed all preferences files and went in to the user profile and manually removed any traces) to no avail.  As I am experiencing this same issue across two totally different systems, is it a known bug with Windows 7 64bit?  Is there any way to fix the issue?

  • Importing large audio file. HOw do I expand 'measure' limit?

    I can import the large WAV file no problem. My problem is I cannot listen to it all because the default 'measure' limit is somewhere in the 200's and the imported file is significantly longer than that. I can drag it at the top to be as long as I like but this takes a long time to manually drag it out to be longer. There got to be an easier way to do this. ANy help would be great.

    The actual figure from the manual is "8550 quarter notes, or about 2158 bars in 4/4 time".
    Whatever the time signature or tempo, the limiting factor is the number of quarter notes — 8550 of them. So if your file would extend over more quarter notes than that at the current tempo, then adjust the tempo to be as low as is necessary to give you the duration you require.

    I've finally solved it!
    I downloaded the following jre from blackdown:
    jre118_v3-glibc-2.1.3-DYNMOTIF.tar.bz2
    It's the only one that seems to work (and god, have I tried them all!)
    I've no idea what the DYNMOTIF means (apart from being something to do with Motif - but you don't have to be a linux guru to work that out ;)) - but, hell, it works.
    And after sitting in front of this machine for 3 days trying to deal with Oracle's, frankly PATHETIC install, that's so full of holes and bugs, that's all I care about..
    The one bundled with Oracle 8.1.7 doesn't work with Linux redhat 6.2EE.
    Don't oracle test their software?
    Anyway I'm happy now, and I'm leaving this in case anybody else has the same problem.
    Thanks for everyone's help.

  • Trouble Importing Large mp3 File

    I have a very large mp3 file (extension is .mp3, lower-cased) and I'm trying to import it into GarageBand so I can split it up into multiple files to make multiple podcasts out of it. The file is roughly 500MB and 8.5 hours long. I did not record it (hotel sound recording staff at our conference did) so I don't know what sort of settings were used in saving it as an mp3. It imports into iTunes and plays fine there.
    When I try to drag it into a podcast track, GarageBand gives me an "Importing" message for a minute or two and then nothing happens (blank track, file not there). The same thing happens if I try to drag the version that plays fine in iTunes into GarageBand.
    What can I do to get my file to a point where I can edit it?
    If I need to convert it to something other than an mp3, can you tell me what (free?) software I need to download in order to do so?
    Thank you!

  • How to import large excel files which exceeds more then 65535 rows

    Hi there,
    I am using the latest Numbers version (v3.5.3) on the latest Yosemite (10.10.3) and wonder if and how it is possible to import an Excel file which exceeds the 65535 limit. I know MS Excel has change this limit to 156118 rows. But I don't have that program. I am only using the Mac versions.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello NavNak.
    My knee jerk reaction would be to split the incoming Excel file.  (How else can a gallon of water fit into a half gallon jug?)  I googled 'Excel file splitter' and up came a bunch of hits with one of them coming from this Apple Community.  Check out thread #6486876 which is How To Split Large Excel or CSV Files into Smaller Files
    Good luck.

  • Importing Maya .ma file problem ?

    I import Maya compatible file, .ma that out from C4D plugin CaMaya v1.0. It work out up to now. But I have a Scene with 980 images, and when I import the .ma ( camera ) it dont import all only, like 1 to 550 then the data of the reste is not valide. SO i import and render In two time ... export cam 0 to 500, import cam, render, the import cam 501 to 980 and then render... IS oki I mean, but do any one know if is limitation In Keyy frames in Shake or so ??

    Sounds like you have a scoping problem, but without more code
    we'd never be able to tell. Do you have your loadvariables code
    sitting on the main movie or the movieclip? Are you using classes
    to control anything? Most likely, you just need to take a look at
    the way you are referencing your variables....

  • Importing large mp4 file

    Hi - I have hours and hours of old 8mm video on DVD. I've been able to import them onto my MAC using handbrake. I can import to I-movie, but it's telling me this will take 480 minutes! Can I select certain scenes to import? Can I split up the file into smaller segments, and if so, how?

    Right now I don't have quicktime pro. Any other options?
    MPEG Streamclip (free)
    Also, not quite sure about how to use timeline in this fashion...but I could play with it some and probably find out.
    Basically works the same way in QT Pro or MPEG Streamclip. Drag playhead to approximate location you wish to start a segment. Then use left/right arrows to move playhead one frame at a time to exact start location and press the letter "I" to set your "in point." Now do the same to place your playhead at an out point. When playhead is at exact frame position, press the "O" key to set your "out point." Now use the "Trim to Selection" Edit menu option to trim the clip to what you want and save the result using the "Save As..." File menu option. When finished, import the individual files to iMovie and edit normally. (NOTE: Since you plan to edit the files in iMovie anyway, the setting of exact in/out points is not critical here as long as you trim to segments containing more than you actually want to end up with for final edit.)

  • Can't import large bookmark file

    I recently purchased another Windows computer. I installed Firefox and attempted to import my bookmarks file (html). I was only able to import folders in my bookmarks and nothing else. I then open my bookmark file in Firefox and the bookmarks I want are still there. The bookmark file is 15.8 mb in size. Do I need to split up this file and, if so, how would I do that?
    Thanks!

    If you still have the old computer, you could try backing up to .json (by using Backup instead of Export). With the new system, restore the .json file.
